[00:00:00] Me and Aaron met in a drunk pod. That's gone. Drunken bar. Is it gone? Yeah, their entire show's gone. They deleted everything. I have no idea what happened to them.

[00:00:12] Yeah, I don't remember anything about that. I remember like it was really really hot. It was a really really hot summer day. We were doing something. I was hot and sweaty and exhausted and I was bringing in the groceries. And then there I was just like, hey, my favorite games Final Fantasy nine and they were like, why do you like that game so much? And then I was like, okay, I gotta go.

[00:00:35] No questions, please.

[00:00:37] What it do listeners. My name is Aaron. Ted Nugent might be my father and you're listening to SuperPod Saga.

[00:00:53] That's right. Welcome back. Have a seat.

[00:00:56] It's emo, son.

[00:00:58] Yeah.

[00:00:59] Have you ever seen...

[00:01:00] Oh, so my stepdad...

[00:01:02] We're already going off topic right at the beginning of the show. I don't give a fuck.

[00:01:05] Hell yeah.

[00:01:05] My stepdad lives and dies by the Outdoor Channel and he used to always watch this Ted Nugent hunting show.

[00:01:13] Because Ted Nugent loves hunting, bro.

[00:01:16] Oh yeah, he does.

[00:01:17] He's got this gigantic cabin, stuffed animals all over the place.

[00:01:20] Like stuffed, like killed animals, not like teddy bears and shit.

[00:01:24] But yeah.

[00:01:25] How many underage girls in that house?

[00:01:27] Dude, probably way too many to count.

[00:01:31] Anyway, yeah.

[00:01:32] Take your shoes off.

[00:01:33] Stay wild.

[00:01:34] SuperPod Saga.

[00:01:36] This is the...

[00:01:38] This is the podcast where each week we discuss different video game topics with different guests.

[00:01:42] The guests choose a topic and eventually we'll run out of things to say.

[00:01:46] And then the show, just cut it.

[00:01:48] We'll delete it like that Drunk Gamers podcast thing that Bill and I met on.

[00:01:52] But today's not that day.

[00:01:54] We actually got a good topic today.

[00:01:55] We got good guests.

[00:01:56] So before we get to that though, listeners, if you enjoy the show, please for the love of God, leave a rating or review on Spotify or whatever app you listen on.

[00:02:05] If you really, really enjoy the show, come visit SuperPod Network.

[00:02:09] Maybe check out all the GNC shows, Fine Time, Remember 64, all those shows.

[00:02:15] Then if you really, really enjoy the show, Patreon.

[00:02:18] Support us on Patreon.

[00:02:19] Two or four dollars a month.

[00:02:20] They get all sorts of cool shit.

[00:02:22] Enough of that though.

[00:02:23] Let's introduce the guests.

[00:02:24] Hello, Bill and Thrak from the 3DO podcast and all of Bill's other stuff.

[00:02:30] Geek Addicts and GNC.

[00:02:32] Yeah.

[00:02:32] Hello.

[00:02:33] Send help.

[00:02:34] Hi, Eric.

[00:02:35] You can't get rid of us.

[00:02:37] You can't get rid of me.

[00:02:38] Can't get rid of me.

[00:02:39] Nope.

[00:02:40] I'm not even going to try, man.

[00:02:40] Did we record last week?

[00:02:42] Yes.

[00:02:43] Last week when we did the thing?

[00:02:45] Yeah.

[00:02:45] With Dre.

[00:02:46] Yeah.

[00:02:47] With Dre.

[00:02:47] Yeah.

[00:02:48] What the fuck happened last week?

[00:02:50] I think, was it the guests bailed?

[00:02:52] I don't know what happened last week.

[00:02:53] I forget.

[00:02:54] Yeah.

[00:02:54] You said the guests bailed and Jerry was sick again.

[00:02:58] Yeah.

[00:02:59] Yeah.

[00:02:59] That's right.

[00:03:00] Yeah.

[00:03:00] He's a coward.

[00:03:01] He keeps ducking me.

[00:03:02] Because you're trying to talk shit about Goemon and Mega Man, all the things he holds

[00:03:06] dear.

[00:03:08] I don't have enough to say about Goemon, but I do have words to say about Mega Man today.

[00:03:13] Is our topic what?

[00:03:14] The worst sequels?

[00:03:15] That's right.

[00:03:16] That's right.

[00:03:16] We're talking about the worst sequels today.

[00:03:19] And what I mean by sequel, hopefully you guys, hopefully this counts for all your picks

[00:03:23] too.

[00:03:23] By sequels, I mean like direct sequels.

[00:03:26] Yes.

[00:03:26] So you're thinking like, not like say Final Fantasy 7 to 8, more like Final Fantasy 10 to Final

[00:03:32] Fantasy 10 2.

[00:03:33] Yeah.

[00:03:34] But you know what?

[00:03:35] If your picks don't fall into line with that, fuck it.

[00:03:37] We'll just, we'll do them anyway.

[00:03:40] This is my show.

[00:03:41] God damn it.

[00:03:41] I call them.

[00:03:41] I make the rules.

[00:03:44] Fellas, go ahead and take turns introducing yourselves and your show.

[00:03:48] Plug any, any socials, anything like that.

[00:03:51] And tell us all about your favorites.

[00:03:56] Tell us about your favorite milkshake, like the best milkshake you ever had.

[00:04:01] Is it bad that I can't remember the last time I had a milkshake?

[00:04:04] You can save it for last if you want.

[00:04:06] He's trying to be the healthy one.

[00:04:08] Yeah.

[00:04:09] We'll just do your favorite dessert.

[00:04:10] Like you're on death row.

[00:04:12] They're like, pick a dessert before we fucking kill you.

[00:04:16] Yeah.

[00:04:18] You want to go first, Thacker?

[00:04:19] Yeah.

[00:04:20] I got it.

[00:04:21] So my, my favorite dessert is, it's a, it's a homemade brownie with some like vanilla ice

[00:04:29] cream, some chocolate syrup and a whip and like some whipped cream on top.

[00:04:34] So that was my favorite.

[00:04:35] In fact, when I started my new job, it was like, like I, my birthday was like a couple

[00:04:40] weeks later.

[00:04:40] And then like, so for my birthday, they gave me a bunch of snacks and actually one of them

[00:04:46] cooked like a whole tray of brownies for me.

[00:04:48] So we eventually cut those up and did those little brownie Sundays and that's some good

[00:04:52] shit.

[00:04:53] You know, I'd like, I'd like that.

[00:04:54] I would like that in my tummy before they blow my brains out.

[00:04:57] That sounds really good to me.

[00:04:59] But yeah.

[00:04:59] But yes, I am Thrac.

[00:05:00] Firing squad.

[00:05:03] I request the firing squad.

[00:05:06] Okay.

[00:05:07] Put that needle down.

[00:05:10] Shoot me.

[00:05:11] God damn it.

[00:05:12] They all get a bullet.

[00:05:13] No blanks.

[00:05:15] So they all feel terrible.

[00:05:17] Exactly.

[00:05:20] But anyways, yes, I am Thrac co-host of the 3DO experience with my buddy Bill here.

[00:05:25] It's us exploring the world of the niche 90s console, the 3DO.

[00:05:30] So it's been a lot of fun.

[00:05:31] I also stream every week on Twitch, slowly working my way through the Sega Genesis library.

[00:05:37] That's at twitch.tv slash Thrac 94.

[00:05:40] The VODs are on my YouTube channel also at Thrac 94.

[00:05:44] And yeah, that's about what I do.

[00:05:46] And I also guests all over the Superpod network.

[00:05:49] I whore myself out to any podcast that'll have me.

[00:05:52] So you're next, Elder Trolls.

[00:05:54] You're next.

[00:05:56] I still haven't even been on there yet.

[00:05:57] I've never talked to them.

[00:05:59] They're awesome dudes.

[00:06:00] I've never been on their show though.

[00:06:03] I've had them on multiple times, but yeah, they're fun.

[00:06:07] Oh, I assume if they're on this network, they're cool.

[00:06:09] Yeah.

[00:06:10] Yeah.

[00:06:10] Bill, go ahead and plug your socials and stuff.

[00:06:14] I'll write desserts.

[00:06:16] You can do your socials first if you want.

[00:06:18] You can buy yourself some time and like jot down notes on your hand or something.

[00:06:24] Bill's like, what's a dessert?

[00:06:26] So I only eat meat.

[00:06:31] That's a carnivores dessert.

[00:06:33] So I'm the other half of the 3DO experience.

[00:06:36] The wonderful retrospective, the only active 3DO podcast out there right now.

[00:06:41] I'm also the main host on gaming collecting.

[00:06:46] It's a podcast to do with my sister, Alex.

[00:06:47] We talk gaming and anime.

[00:06:49] It's generally nonsense all the time, but that's kind of its charm.

[00:06:52] And I'm also on geek addicts with my buddy, Matt, where we just time to talk about anything pop culture.

[00:06:57] It's they're all pretty interesting.

[00:06:59] They're all very laid back because I don't edit for shit.

[00:07:03] Unless Alex burps during a podcast and then I will edit it out, but I will let everybody know it happened.

[00:07:09] I feel like that's worse.

[00:07:10] This bitch.

[00:07:11] Oh, no.

[00:07:11] She makes me edit it out.

[00:07:16] She's always like, edit it out.

[00:07:17] I'm like, oh, fine.

[00:07:18] I will edit it out, but I will make everyone very aware it happened.

[00:07:22] Instead of editing it out, you should try to like censor it, but with a much louder, like more vulgar burp.

[00:07:29] Well, I always told her I'd like replace it with like a comical fart noise, but she's like, no, don't do that.

[00:07:34] I was going to try auto tuning it next time it happens.

[00:07:38] Oh, fuck.

[00:07:39] That'd be cool.

[00:07:39] No, no.

[00:07:40] Like you should put in like whenever like Hank Hill goes like, whoa.

[00:07:43] Oh, just do like a dumb, like Tim Allen noise or something.

[00:07:47] Oh, yeah.

[00:07:51] That'd be great.

[00:07:53] I was going to be doing that.

[00:07:54] They're like, just like reversing it.

[00:07:58] Like, so.

[00:08:00] Oh, please.

[00:08:01] Oh, she's like sucking the burp in.

[00:08:04] I think.

[00:08:05] Thank God.

[00:08:06] She doesn't listen to this because she's going to be fucking raging.

[00:08:08] I think for the next episode.

[00:08:10] Brilliant ideas.

[00:08:11] God damn it.

[00:08:12] I know.

[00:08:12] For the next like ad break transition.

[00:08:14] It's just going to be like Tim Allen grunts and other sounds, but like reversed.

[00:08:18] I'm stealing that idea.

[00:08:19] That's good.

[00:08:20] Well, make sure you put in the home improvement theme song.

[00:08:22] Cause that theme song kind of slaps.

[00:08:24] It does.

[00:08:24] I think I've done that for an episode.

[00:08:25] That whole show kind of slapped.

[00:08:27] I think I've done that.

[00:08:28] I grew up on that show.

[00:08:30] So I know, I know, I know a lot of the home improvement lore.

[00:08:33] I know.

[00:08:36] I know.

[00:08:38] I know.

[00:08:38] I know.

[00:08:39] Sorry.

[00:08:39] Go ahead.

[00:08:41] You can find all of our links at super pod network.com along with that link tree slash

[00:08:46] the barbrew games.

[00:08:46] If you want the direct links.

[00:08:48] We're also, we have a YouTube channel where we post video versions of all the podcasts.

[00:08:52] So you can see our lovely faces and some of the screen caps are wonderful, but they are.

[00:09:00] But other than that, my favorite dessert, I am a big fan of coffee, toffee, ice cream.

[00:09:05] Oh, I did not know that about you.

[00:09:08] That's that's cool, man.

[00:09:09] Yeah.

[00:09:10] I, it's like the one of the few things I will still eat every now and then is like a, as

[00:09:14] a, like a treat.

[00:09:15] Are you a big fan of sweets bill?

[00:09:17] Or are you more of like a, like a savory guy?

[00:09:20] I enjoy them, but my body does not because my metabolism is shit.

[00:09:25] So I kind of have to watch what I eat.

[00:09:28] I think I'm a really big fan of a good tiramisu.

[00:09:36] Oh, but those brownie Sundays, boy, any day of the week.

[00:09:40] Good brownie.

[00:09:40] You get a hot brownie Sunday or yeah, I don't know.

[00:09:45] I'm trying to give like my favorite pie.

[00:09:48] Pie.

[00:09:48] You like pie.

[00:09:49] Pumpkin pie.

[00:09:49] I like a good, I like a good, I like a good cherry pie.

[00:09:53] Cherry's good.

[00:09:54] Oh, uh, pecan's good if you want to have a heart attack.

[00:09:57] Peach, peach pie is good.

[00:09:59] I even, I can even fuck with a good key lime pie.

[00:10:02] I can put a key lime pie.

[00:10:03] Oh, that's good.

[00:10:03] Yeah.

[00:10:03] That's it.

[00:10:04] Key lime pie.

[00:10:04] I really love key lime pie.

[00:10:06] Boom.

[00:10:06] That's it, editor.

[00:10:07] That's my weird hot take.

[00:10:08] I'm not big on pumpkin pie.

[00:10:11] No, my wife is just like that too.

[00:10:13] Cheyenne only likes chocolate pies.

[00:10:15] I'm not big on apple pie.

[00:10:17] Apple pie.

[00:10:18] It has to be homemade.

[00:10:19] Like store bought apple pie is just not great.

[00:10:22] But if like somebody home makes it like that shit slaps.

[00:10:26] I'm not generally a picky eater, but like that's one of the few things that I'm not like big,

[00:10:30] big on is I'm not big into baked like fruits in like baked goods that I just, for whatever

[00:10:35] reason it just, I think, I think Dre, uh, fine time Dre shout out to him.

[00:10:40] He's the same way too.

[00:10:42] I'm pretty sure he, he doesn't like cooked fruit.

[00:10:44] I think.

[00:10:45] Unless I'm thinking of somebody else.

[00:10:46] It's just, it's weird.

[00:10:48] Yeah.

[00:10:48] Something about the texture.

[00:10:49] I think you're right.

[00:10:50] Bothers me.

[00:10:52] Again, if it's like, if they, if they're using like the store bought can filling, it

[00:10:56] usually never works.

[00:10:57] But like if somebody like cuts up like apples and does it properly, I'm more into it.

[00:11:02] You know, you remember the McDonald's apple pies that we used to be able to get

[00:11:05] that were like just sugar sticks basically do the deep fried.

[00:11:09] I mean, I used to work.

[00:11:10] I mean, I used to work at a McDonald's.

[00:11:13] So I remember like, you know, making those things overseas.

[00:11:16] You can still get them because the overseas doesn't give a shit about all that FDA shit.

[00:11:20] Oh yeah.

[00:11:21] Yeah.

[00:11:22] Yeah.

[00:11:22] Like, like I worked at McDonald's when we had the McRib.

[00:11:25] So I remember making the McRib.

[00:11:27] Goddamn, the smell of that barbecue sauce will never leave my scent.

[00:11:31] That was awful.

[00:11:33] It's like, you know, those, you know, those trays where they keep all like the patties

[00:11:36] and the nuggets in for the McRib.

[00:11:38] We had one of those trays and it was just full of the barbecue sauce.

[00:11:40] Oh my God.

[00:11:41] We would just cook.

[00:11:42] Yeah.

[00:11:43] So we would just cook like the, the pork patties.

[00:11:45] I'm using pork and patty quotes and then just like throw and then basically and then

[00:11:51] just throw them in there and kind of just, you know, smother them.

[00:11:55] And then they would just sit there.

[00:11:57] Awful.

[00:11:57] Disgusting.

[00:11:57] Disgusting.

[00:11:58] I have such a weird love, hate relationship with the McRib.

[00:12:01] Like when it's out, I'll need one like ASAP and then it'll be good all the way up until

[00:12:06] it hits my mouth.

[00:12:07] And then once I take a bite, I'm like, this is really messy and like way too tangy.

[00:12:13] Damn.

[00:12:14] Cause that barbecue sauce is awful.

[00:12:14] And why the fuck are their whole onions?

[00:12:16] Yeah, that barbecue sauce is fucking gross.

[00:12:32] Speaking of sauce, let's get to that topic.

[00:12:35] It's a saucy topic.

[00:12:37] Swaset topic.

[00:12:39] Oh yeah.

[00:12:39] Let's get to it.

[00:12:40] The worst sequels.

[00:12:42] Which one of you fellas wants to kick us off?

[00:12:46] Um, I know you got one bill.

[00:12:48] So I've, this was an interesting topic cause I'm like, when you think about like sequels,

[00:12:52] it is like such a weirdly like divisive, like opinions on a lot of these things.

[00:12:57] Yep.

[00:12:59] Um, I was kind of looking around and one that kind of like, kind of sticks to mind immediately,

[00:13:05] just cause like, I remember this game being super hyped when it first got announced and

[00:13:08] then it came out and ended up being quite possibly one of the most like split games I've ever seen.

[00:13:14] Uh, Resident Evil six.

[00:13:15] Oh yes.

[00:13:16] Yup.

[00:13:18] Like I remember when the demo for this game came out and like everyone played Leon's story

[00:13:23] and they were like, Oh my God, Resident Evil's finally back.

[00:13:26] They remembered what horror was.

[00:13:27] And then everyone played Chris's demo.

[00:13:29] And then they went, nevermind.

[00:13:31] They don't know what the fuck they're doing.

[00:13:33] It's worse than five, which, which that being said, five's a good game.

[00:13:36] It's just a very action heavy game.

[00:13:38] Five is a lot of fun.

[00:13:40] Yeah.

[00:13:40] You know, it's not a good horror game, but it's a fun game.

[00:13:43] Yeah.

[00:13:43] It, well, we were, we were talking about, uh, Chris from novel console.

[00:13:47] Shout to him, me and him, we co-opt already five.

[00:13:49] So if you go through the archives, you can watch me and him, uh, listen to me and him talk about it.

[00:13:54] Cause he, he made me co-op that game, but I'm, I'm glad we did because it was quite like, I couldn't do that game single player.

[00:14:01] Like it's kind of dog shit.

[00:14:02] If it's single player, you need a friend to kind of make it worth it.

[00:14:06] You have to, um, to play single player.

[00:14:07] You have to give like Sheva the, uh, the sniper rifle and just tell her to go in the corner.

[00:14:11] So she doesn't waste your ammo the entire time.

[00:14:14] Um, yeah.

[00:14:15] And they made Sheva for some reason, like lefty.

[00:14:18] So if you are Sheva, like I was, uh, you had to learn, you had to learn the game, like lefty controls, which was like, why?

[00:14:25] Which seemed like a really dumb mistake on their part, but you get used to it.

[00:14:28] Yeah.

[00:14:29] Going down to six though.

[00:14:30] Like six was such a, they it's six is like the literal definition of, they took every idea they had through it at the wall.

[00:14:38] And then they didn't care what stuck.

[00:14:39] They just kept it all anyways.

[00:14:41] Um, cause like you got Leon story, which is like the most resident evil out of all of them.

[00:14:47] And even then it's still not amazing.

[00:14:49] You have, um, Chris's story, which is like resident evil five without the fun aspect of it.

[00:14:55] Um, then you have, uh, Mr. McFanfic, the, uh, Wesker Jr.

[00:15:01] Whatever his name was.

[00:15:03] Mr. McFanfic.

[00:15:06] I mean, it was like Wesker's son, like son that we'd never heard of.

[00:15:09] Like that is just like fan fiction bait right there.

[00:15:13] Um, he was just weird and boring to play.

[00:15:16] And then I think he'd also play as Ada and her, her stuff was kind of interesting, but it was also kind of not good.

[00:15:23] But yeah, like six is just kind of one of those games where it's like a hot mess all around.

[00:15:27] And it just ends up not being a fun game.

[00:15:29] So my story with resident evil six is I bought it for like five bucks a game stop.

[00:15:35] Cause that's when I was borrowing my friend's PS three.

[00:15:37] And I played, um, a bunch of games on PS three to like catch up, like all the Uncharted's and all that stuff. Right.

[00:15:43] And I saw already six and I was like, Oh, I want, I wanted to give this a shot. Right.

[00:15:46] So it was like five bucks. I went ahead and bought it.

[00:15:48] I played it for two hours and then just returned it that same day.

[00:15:53] Cause I hated it. Like it just didn't feel right.

[00:15:56] Like the controls were just wrong.

[00:15:59] And like everything was so over the top, like bonkers, bad shit.

[00:16:03] I was just like confused.

[00:16:05] Do you agree with, do you agree with my sentiment that Wesker jr.

[00:16:09] Is just Mr. McFanfic?

[00:16:10] Yeah, basically.

[00:16:12] And yeah, it just like the game just didn't click with me.

[00:16:14] Cause like I hadn't really played five at that point.

[00:16:17] So I was going from four to six.

[00:16:19] And so like, yeah, you, you missed.

[00:16:22] So it wasn't a good transition.

[00:16:25] Yeah, basically.

[00:16:26] So, I mean, I mean, you know, our, uh, friend of the, friend of the network, Jala Chan, like she's big into RE6.

[00:16:33] So, you know, if, if she was willing to carry me one of these days, that would be fun, but I'm not going to force her to do that again.

[00:16:39] So it might be one of those games.

[00:16:41] Eventually I'll play it.

[00:16:43] Maybe, maybe, maybe novel console.

[00:16:45] Chris, maybe we'll co-op it and he'll, and he'll force me to play that one.

[00:16:49] But who knows?

[00:16:51] So other than that, I just have like the two, maybe three hours of time in it.

[00:16:55] And, uh, and returned it that same day.

[00:16:56] Cause I was like, fuck this.

[00:16:59] I didn't like it at all.

[00:17:01] I, I remember, uh, I pre-ordered the game from GameStop way back in the day when it was first coming out.

[00:17:07] And I remember co-opping through it with a friend and it was cool for a little bit.

[00:17:13] Like, yeah, the Leon part, Leon and, uh, what's her name?

[00:17:17] What, what's the lady's name that he's with?

[00:17:19] It's like, Sharon, I think.

[00:17:21] Helena, Helena.

[00:17:23] That's right.

[00:17:23] Yeah.

[00:17:24] Uh, their part was cool.

[00:17:26] Uh, Chris and like, oh, the other guy, Pierce, that was very frustrating.

[00:17:33] Uh, but then he gets Jake and holy shit.

[00:17:35] I loved Jake's comeback.

[00:17:37] Cause you just like, he's just fist blasting monsters away, doing cool, like martial arts moves and shit.

[00:17:42] That was pretty cool.

[00:17:44] Um, see, my problem with Jake was, I just thought he was so like this, it just didn't feel like Resident Evil.

[00:17:50] Yeah.

[00:17:50] Yeah, definitely.

[00:17:52] There was, there was no, there wasn't a lot of, uh, holy shit.

[00:17:56] There wasn't any survival horror at all.

[00:17:59] It was just like, you're just this unkillable God.

[00:18:03] Yeah.

[00:18:04] It was a pure action fantasy, which I kind of get why they were trying to do that.

[00:18:08] But people were begging for like a Resident Evil seven.

[00:18:13] Well, I think that, I think the T the thing that really soured a lot of people was like Leon story was so close.

[00:18:20] And then it was like everything after just was like, they completely like lost the plot.

[00:18:24] It started off pretty fucking strong.

[00:18:28] And then the, I'm not even like halfway through it's like, boom, plane crash, 50 car pile up on the interstate fire zombies and like big dudes everywhere.

[00:18:37] It's like, holy shit.

[00:18:39] Okay.

[00:18:39] Well, no, but are in the games defense though.

[00:18:41] Probably the best part of Resident Evil six is when you do like the cool dive role.

[00:18:46] And then when you land on the ground, you can just chill there and lay on the ground and like aim your guns in different ways and look like you're driving a car on the ground.

[00:18:52] Like beep, beep, vroom, vroom.

[00:18:54] That's pretty cool.

[00:18:56] Um, Resident Evil driving simulator.

[00:18:58] Yes.

[00:18:59] There we go.

[00:19:00] Yeah.

[00:19:00] The only other game I can think of that lets you do that would be like stranglehold, but a cool mechanic.

[00:19:05] Oh, sure.

[00:19:06] Oh, stranglehold.

[00:19:07] Yeah, dude.

[00:19:09] Great game.

[00:19:10] Oh, sure.

[00:19:12] Speak of sure.

[00:19:15] What did she cut next?

[00:19:16] Sure.

[00:19:17] I'll go first.

[00:19:18] Okay.

[00:19:18] So I doubt you guys have played this game before.

[00:19:22] And while I wouldn't say it's a bad game, I think it's very disappointing compared to what came previous.

[00:19:29] So I assume you guys are aware of the Def Jam games.

[00:19:32] Yes.

[00:19:33] The Def Jam series, right?

[00:19:34] Oh, yeah.

[00:19:35] So we have, um, I wrote about them in the GameCube blog.

[00:19:38] So Def Jam Vendetta and Fight for New York both came out PS2, Xbox, GameCube, and they were like fighting wrestling kind of games developed by the Ackie Corporation,

[00:19:47] who were famous for the N64 wrestling games, right?

[00:19:50] Like weirdly enough, that's what they did after that, you know.

[00:19:53] I can go a little bit more in detail, but maybe another time.

[00:19:56] So anyways, so they did those.

[00:19:58] Fight for New York is still like one of the most beloved games, you know, of that era, right?

[00:20:03] So we hit the 360 era and it's an EA is like, oh, we're doing another Def Jam game.

[00:20:10] And it's like, great.

[00:20:10] You know, what, what is it?

[00:20:12] And they're like, oh, it's being done by a EA Chicago, not Ackie.

[00:20:16] Because EA Chicago, they were doing the Fight Night series, which, you know, the, the Fight

[00:20:21] Night series of boxing games that were very popular at the time.

[00:20:24] I never really got into them personally, but I know they're well revered, but they had them

[00:20:29] make the, the, this followup to it.

[00:20:32] And so, and while Def Jam Icon, it isn't a bad game.

[00:20:36] It's just very disappointing because it treats itself more just like kind of like a, just

[00:20:42] average 2D fighter with some like kind of music stuff in there.

[00:20:47] Cause you have like, you know, you can kind of, the music can kind of change certain like

[00:20:51] stage hazards in the game.

[00:20:53] Yeah.

[00:20:53] But like the combat is trying to be like a more arcadey kind of a fight night.

[00:20:58] And there is some wrestling, but it's very downplayed.

[00:21:02] The roster is trimmed heavily from Fight for New York's Fight for New York has like a

[00:21:07] giant roster of like a who's who of like hip hop of the time.

[00:21:11] Right. And then you look at this one and there's some notable names, but not nearly as many.

[00:21:16] It could have been a bunch of them had left Def Jam by that point.

[00:21:18] Cause I think in the mid two thousands, Def Jam was starting to slump a little bit as a label,

[00:21:22] but it just like it, it just didn't hit the same way.

[00:21:26] You know what I mean? Cause like seeing that they were making a new Def Jam fighting game,

[00:21:29] it's like, Oh great.

[00:21:31] But we got this instead of like a proper fight for New York sequel, you know?

[00:21:36] So I always found the game very, very disappointing in that regard.

[00:21:39] You know, it's maybe a five, five and a half out of 10 for me, but you know, which isn't the worst,

[00:21:46] but compared to say Def Jam fight for New York, which is like a nine, like that game is still fantastic to this day.

[00:21:52] It's just, it's a, it's a shame that happened because then the Def Jam series completely died.

[00:21:56] Um, well we did get that weird Def Jam rap star, which is them just trying to do like a mute,

[00:22:01] like a music, like karaoke, like a rap karaoke game.

[00:22:04] Like don't do that.

[00:22:05] Don't do that.

[00:22:07] Don't do that.

[00:22:08] Yeah.

[00:22:08] That can get bad really fast.

[00:22:10] Yeah.

[00:22:11] And then ever since then, or at least in the last couple of years, Def Jam like to like tease on social media.

[00:22:17] They're like, Oh, would you guys like to see like fight for New York or Vendetta come back?

[00:22:21] And they always, it's always for engagement.

[00:22:23] Cause people always go, Oh fuck.

[00:22:24] Yeah.

[00:22:24] But like, they're not going to bother making those games or because they would have to get EA involved.

[00:22:30] And it's like, well, who's going to develop them?

[00:22:32] Cause like Aki is not the, they still exist, but they're not the same company that they were, you know, if you want a little fun fact for you.

[00:22:40] Yeah.

[00:22:40] Aki went from making like some of the best wrestling games of all time to being bought by another company.

[00:22:46] They're renamed Sin Sophia and they make games like fashion dreamer for the Nintendo switch.

[00:22:53] Nice.

[00:22:54] They make like the style savvy games, like pretty rhythm, like, like all these weird, like idle girly dressing fashion games.

[00:23:04] Like these are the same fucking people who made WWF no mercy for the N64.

[00:23:08] Excellent use of those talents.

[00:23:11] I imagine most of those people have left by now, but still, you know, how the mighty have fallen.

[00:23:17] But what can you do?

[00:23:19] Dude.

[00:23:20] Yeah.

[00:23:20] Def Jam icon.

[00:23:21] Like it's not a bad game, but.

[00:23:24] I actually did get to play that like briefly cause a friend had it and we were just messing around.

[00:23:29] I remember thinking the stages were like super interesting.

[00:23:32] Like I kind of liked the whole like gimmicks, but like the fighting was just so.

[00:23:36] Yeah.

[00:23:37] Yeah.

[00:23:38] Yeah.

[00:23:38] Like the, like the fight night games, they definitely have their own kind of specific tech that if you get really good at them, you can be great.

[00:23:45] But I've always been terrible at boxing video games.

[00:23:47] So.

[00:23:47] Yeah.

[00:23:48] Yeah.

[00:23:49] I've, I've only ever played the demo for, uh, for that Def Jam on three 60.

[00:23:54] I already, Def Jam icon.

[00:23:55] That's the name.

[00:23:56] My bad.

[00:23:56] Um, I played the demo for, and it's when you're fighting at that little gas station and there's

[00:24:01] this like Hummer limo in the background and there's like all sorts of shit happening.

[00:24:05] It's like a, like a, like a Mickey Mouse cartoon.

[00:24:08] Like everything's moving and like moving to the beat.

[00:24:10] Yeah.

[00:24:10] And it's so fucking weird.

[00:24:12] And they try to mess with color a little bit as well.

[00:24:15] Like it has some interesting ideas, but it's just not executed well.

[00:24:19] Cause you know, like Vendetta and fight for New York are just really good wrestling games.

[00:24:22] Cause that's all they ever needed to be.

[00:24:24] And they're great at that, you know?

[00:24:26] And, and, uh, I forgot which Def Jam game it was.

[00:24:30] Like, couldn't you also make your own fighting style or like pick your own, like make your

[00:24:34] own moves and shit.

[00:24:36] Yeah.

[00:24:36] I'm pretty sure that's fight for New York.

[00:24:38] Cause fight for New York, the story mode is like, you pick your own character.

[00:24:41] It's like trying to follow on from Vendetta where you're just trying to rise through the

[00:24:45] ranks again.

[00:24:45] You like get your own like apartment and you do all that stuff.

[00:24:49] But then yeah, you go train like fighting styles from Henry fucking Rollins of all people,

[00:24:53] you know, where, where, where they have the different fighting styles, like wrestling, kickboxing,

[00:24:59] you know, submission, that kind of stuff.

[00:25:01] And you can earn more special moves as you keep going.

[00:25:04] Yeah.

[00:25:04] It's very in depth.

[00:25:05] Like it's borderline RPG, which for a wrestling game was fantastic.

[00:25:09] And yeah.

[00:25:10] And I rented that game all the goddamn time until I eventually have a guy, I have a copy

[00:25:14] now and I got a D I got it for a decent deal as well, which is hard to do with that

[00:25:18] game.

[00:25:18] So it's very expensive.

[00:25:20] That fucking sucks, man.

[00:25:22] It does.

[00:25:24] Speaking of sucking, are either of you dudes fan of the devil may cry series?

[00:25:29] Oh, let me.

[00:25:30] I think I know which game you're talking about.

[00:25:32] I'm sure.

[00:25:33] I've, I've never, I've, I've only played one devil may cry game.

[00:25:37] Which one?

[00:25:39] DMC.

[00:25:40] The reboot.

[00:25:41] Okay.

[00:25:41] Which one do you think it is bill?

[00:25:43] Well, I mean, it's gotta be two, right?

[00:25:46] It is two.

[00:25:46] Okay.

[00:25:47] I assume it was two.

[00:25:48] Yeah, it is two.

[00:25:49] Oh man.

[00:25:50] Okay.

[00:25:50] So yeah, I played, I first played these games back in high school and I fell in love

[00:25:55] because they were just so fun.

[00:25:57] Uh, but I played them again.

[00:25:59] Um, I forget how old I was, but the HD collection came on 360 and I played them again.

[00:26:06] So as a kid, two is actually kind of cool.

[00:26:09] Cause I was like, Oh cool.

[00:26:10] There's a dedicated backflip button.

[00:26:12] You can push the circle button.

[00:26:13] And like, depending on which way you're, you have the stick facing, he'll do a backflip,

[00:26:17] a front flip side flip.

[00:26:18] But no, as, as an adult, uh, even now, like no two is not, it's, it's not that great.

[00:26:25] It's not a terrible game, but it's not that great.

[00:26:28] Cause so the first level may cry.

[00:26:30] Everything was just so slick.

[00:26:32] So fluid.

[00:26:33] Like everything felt good.

[00:26:34] Like all the moves you did and, uh, the way, the way you perform them with the buttons

[00:26:38] and the controller just felt great.

[00:26:40] And then yeah, three is a fucking masterpiece.

[00:26:43] I'm not even going to talk about that because that game is fucking perfect for, I don't

[00:26:47] remember, but, uh, two just it's everything feels so stiff.

[00:26:52] And so even like the animations, like the animations of Dante, like doing like a, like

[00:26:56] a sword swing.

[00:26:58] It's hard to really explain properly without like seeing a side by side comparison of one

[00:27:03] and two gameplay videos.

[00:27:05] But yeah, two, it just feels stiff.

[00:27:09] Uh, everything just feels what's a good word.

[00:27:12] Everything just feels like still, I don't really how to explain it, but like, I don't

[00:27:17] think in the first game shit is just like constantly coming at you from like every which way,

[00:27:22] but into shits just always in front of you.

[00:27:26] If that makes sense.

[00:27:27] Like usually you're swarmed with, with monsters and shouldn't like every direction, but yeah,

[00:27:31] to everything is just right there in front of you.

[00:27:33] You don't really ever feel rushed to, to, to beat the monsters or anything like that.

[00:27:38] They were kind of going for that weird, like open ish kind of stage design.

[00:27:42] Yeah.

[00:27:43] Yeah.

[00:27:44] Cause there was a lot of cool unlockables you could get from, uh, just exploring and goofing

[00:27:48] around and also fuck the tank boss, the tank ball or not the tank boss, sorry, the helicopter,

[00:27:53] the helicopter boss can eat my balls.

[00:27:56] The, the very depth of my balls.

[00:27:58] It can eat that shit.

[00:27:59] Fuck that boss.

[00:28:00] Go ahead, Bill.

[00:28:02] I was just going to say, um, the way I kind of look at it is like you can devil may

[00:28:08] cry one.

[00:28:09] You can, you can see it's resident evil roots very apparently the more you play it.

[00:28:13] Yeah.

[00:28:14] I think for two, they kind of didn't know where to go from one and they've kind of wanted

[00:28:18] to distance it from the resident evil stuff, but they didn't exactly know what they wanted.

[00:28:23] So it kind of just becomes weird kind of lost kind of game.

[00:28:27] That makes sense.

[00:28:29] Yeah.

[00:28:30] Yeah.

[00:28:30] Devil May Cry two has always been like one of the like most universally accepted, like

[00:28:34] bad games I can think of.

[00:28:36] Like even from an early age when I started getting into games and learned about the devil may cry

[00:28:40] series, everyone was always like, Oh, they're great.

[00:28:42] Except for two.

[00:28:43] Like that's always been a thing.

[00:28:45] The review for the HD collection was literally two great games for the price of three.

[00:28:49] Yeah.

[00:28:50] Cause you wanted three.

[00:28:52] Yeah.

[00:28:52] And to this day, like I, as I said, I've only played the reboot, which is also a bit of a

[00:28:56] controversial game in the series, but I figured, I think it's pretty good.

[00:29:00] Well, I viewed it as I was gifted it, but I was viewed, I viewed it as look, I haven't

[00:29:05] played any of these games, so let's just play the reboot.

[00:29:08] So I don't have any of that preconceived notion of the series or what the series should

[00:29:12] be.

[00:29:13] So I can just appreciate it for what it is.

[00:29:15] And yeah, the reboot was fine.

[00:29:17] Yeah.

[00:29:17] Perfect.

[00:29:18] Yeah.

[00:29:18] Yeah.

[00:29:19] It was like a slightly above average action game.

[00:29:21] You know, it plays great.

[00:29:23] It's it's stylistically looks really nice.

[00:29:25] It just was clearly made by edge Lords.

[00:29:27] Like that's where it's really about.

[00:29:29] Yeah.

[00:29:29] But devil may cry is kind of an edge Lord series in general.

[00:29:32] Not a big, this is, this is like edge Lords trying to make.

[00:29:36] I can love that line.

[00:29:37] That is a great line.

[00:29:38] I know that line, but it's iconic.

[00:29:41] DMC is literally if you took, if someone was like, this is super edgy, let's make it even

[00:29:46] edgy.

[00:29:47] I think the moment that upset a lot of people in DMC was when the, like the white wig, the

[00:29:52] wig gag.

[00:29:52] Yeah.

[00:29:53] Not a million years.

[00:29:55] No, I loved that.

[00:29:56] I was like, that's beautiful.

[00:29:57] That's.

[00:29:57] And I know, and I know a lot of people got pissed.

[00:30:00] Well, because, oh, fuck you.

[00:30:01] Cause it, cause they're, cause they were trying to be like, oh, you're ruining the devil may

[00:30:05] cry series.

[00:30:05] And, and Capcom had said, they're like, this isn't replacing the series.

[00:30:09] We just wanted to do something a little different.

[00:30:10] It was.

[00:30:11] The thing is that shows how little people on the internet, like have like senses of humor sometimes

[00:30:16] because it was clearly a joke.

[00:30:18] Yeah.

[00:30:18] The joke was at the end of the game.

[00:30:20] He ends up getting white hair.

[00:30:22] Like it was a joke.

[00:30:23] Yeah.

[00:30:24] That's the whole.

[00:30:24] Yeah.

[00:30:25] So yeah.

[00:30:27] Yeah.

[00:30:27] DMC is fine.

[00:30:28] What'd you think of five?

[00:30:30] Five's good.

[00:30:31] I haven't played five.

[00:30:33] I just bought it on the Capcom sale though.

[00:30:35] So I'm going to play it.

[00:30:36] Yeah.

[00:30:36] I hear five is very good.

[00:30:38] Like it's probably the, I think DMC fans say it's like the best one in the series.

[00:30:42] It's a better playing for, in my opinion.

[00:30:45] And cause I thought four played pretty good.

[00:30:47] Yeah.

[00:30:47] Four was cool with the cool, like revving fucking mechanic for your sword.

[00:30:52] And then.

[00:30:54] Yeah.

[00:30:54] Eventually I'll go through the whole series.

[00:30:56] Cause it's a series.

[00:30:57] I would like to play the rest of the games in.

[00:30:59] So who knows?

[00:30:59] Maybe in the future we'll return and do a DMC video.

[00:31:02] See, the funny, the funny thing about DMC, DMC two is it's universally considered a bad

[00:31:11] game, but it's one of those bad games.

[00:31:14] That's like, it's just kind of meh.

[00:31:16] Like it's not even like interestingly bad.

[00:31:18] It's just kind of bad.

[00:31:19] Like, I think that's kind of why it's so infamous.

[00:31:23] Fucking.

[00:31:23] Okay.

[00:31:24] Compared.

[00:31:25] Like, so, so you're playing one, right?

[00:31:27] And the game just feels good.

[00:31:29] It looks good.

[00:31:29] It sounds good.

[00:31:30] It's actually kind of spooky in parts.

[00:31:32] Cause you're just like, what the fuck is happening?

[00:31:35] Why is this like night in armor attacking me?

[00:31:37] Like what the, there's like giant spider monsters and shit everywhere.

[00:31:40] And then you go to two and it's like, there's a helicopter.

[00:31:45] There's dudes with guns.

[00:31:47] And like, that's it.

[00:31:48] There's maybe like a samurai here and there, but it's like, okay, this is, this is dumb.

[00:31:53] Then you go to three and it's fucking bonkers.

[00:31:55] Like off the wall and shit.

[00:31:57] It's like, yeah, two, two sucks.

[00:31:58] Two, two sucks.

[00:31:59] I just think DMC two is another example of, I've mentioned it before where these long

[00:32:04] running series, the, the number two entry is the weird one.

[00:32:08] And I think that's kind of the issue with DMC two.

[00:32:10] Your sophomore slump as they like to call it.

[00:32:12] Yes.

[00:32:13] There's a lot of sophomore slumps in video games.

[00:32:15] Not sure why, but it happens.

[00:32:17] There's also a lot of sophomore bangers to like true Bayonetta to borderlands to Sonic

[00:32:24] to Sonic to Sonic to.

[00:32:25] Yeah.

[00:32:25] That's a really, really good one.

[00:32:27] Yeah.

[00:32:30] Those are the only twos.

[00:32:31] Assassin's Creed two.

[00:32:33] Yeah.

[00:32:33] Assassin's Creed on the brain.

[00:32:35] I'm trying to do.

[00:32:36] Bowser's inside story.

[00:32:38] Oh yeah.

[00:32:38] That's technically three.

[00:32:39] That's three though.

[00:32:41] Yeah.

[00:32:41] Partners in time is the weird too.

[00:32:43] Oh yeah.

[00:32:44] Yeah.

[00:32:44] My, sorry.

[00:32:44] My bad.

[00:32:45] Fuck that.

[00:32:46] Earthbound.

[00:32:47] That game is worth it for that line alone.

[00:32:50] Earthbound.

[00:32:51] Yeah.

[00:32:51] All right, Bill.

[00:32:53] You're up.

[00:32:54] Batter up.

[00:32:55] So speaking of Mario RPGs, worst sequels, Paper Mario Sticker Star.

[00:33:02] I knew you were going there.

[00:33:03] Is one of the most insulting fucking games I've ever played in my life.

[00:33:06] You know, I thought about adding it to my list, but I was like, nah.

[00:33:11] Okay.

[00:33:11] Like before, before you get too into it, I have never played this game, but feel free

[00:33:17] to spoil away because like, I want to know why this game sucks so bad.

[00:33:21] Please explain it.

[00:33:21] It's a nightmare.

[00:33:23] Well, let's just say this.

[00:33:24] There's nothing plot relevant to spoil because this game is fucking boring as fuck.

[00:33:29] Like nothing happens.

[00:33:31] Like, you know how like in Paper Mario, like one of the greatest aspects was like the brilliant

[00:33:36] writing and like how like Bowser has this massive personality and like everything is so

[00:33:41] interesting and entertaining.

[00:33:42] This game is literally like we can't have any characters have personality.

[00:33:47] Get rid of all that.

[00:33:48] No original characters.

[00:33:49] Bowser.

[00:33:49] He can't talk.

[00:33:50] He just grunts the rest of the whole game.

[00:33:52] Oh, it's an RPG.

[00:33:54] Oh, but you can't actually get XP.

[00:33:57] Instead, you have to collect these stickers, but you need specific stickers to fight certain

[00:34:01] bosses.

[00:34:01] Like you'll get stuck on a boss for hours because you don't have the right sticker, but

[00:34:05] then you find the right sticker and then you beat in two seconds.

[00:34:07] So there's like no challenge at all.

[00:34:09] It's just grinding the game.

[00:34:12] The story is non-existent.

[00:34:15] The enemies are bland and boring because they weren't allowed to make original stuff because

[00:34:20] reasons.

[00:34:21] There's like so many re like supposedly Miyamoto came out of the game.

[00:34:24] And just like made this comment, like a good RPG, a good game doesn't need a story or something.

[00:34:31] And they just kind of deleted everything.

[00:34:33] That's a rumor.

[00:34:34] It is a rumor.

[00:34:35] It is a rumor.

[00:34:35] But like the idea that like Miyamoto meddled with this game, it makes too much sense because

[00:34:41] it has all of his sort of things that he said about the Mario games over the years where

[00:34:47] like they don't have complex stories.

[00:34:48] They don't have like anything complex in terms of like mechanical depth or anything like that.

[00:34:55] Like, you know, like the Zelda games, people try to argue their RPGs, but Miyamoto is like I didn't want any RPG elements because that bogs the game down.

[00:35:03] You know, like all these things that like Miyamoto's gaming philosophy, like the worst aspects of it are baked in the sticker star, I think.

[00:35:11] Yeah.

[00:35:11] And that's why people say that.

[00:35:13] And then that made the Paper Mario series kind of an afterthought for a while.

[00:35:18] You know, I mean, there was Color Splash, which was a little bit better.

[00:35:21] Origami King was a little bit better.

[00:35:24] We did get the Thousand Year Door remake, which hopefully that did well enough for them to just make a straight up sequel to that game.

[00:35:31] I mean, hell, Super Paper Mario, I think, is a solid game for what it is.

[00:35:35] Super Paper Mario has the best story in a Mario RPG period.

[00:35:38] It's an amazing story, but I hate in that game when I jump on Goombas and doesn't kill them right away.

[00:35:43] Yeah, I know. It's weird.

[00:35:45] It's some cognitive dissonance.

[00:35:47] But yeah, sticker star is just a monstrosity.

[00:35:50] Really, it's like, what the hell are you guys?

[00:35:53] It reminds me a little bit of Mario Galaxy 2.

[00:35:56] Because Mario Galaxy 2, you could argue, is just a remake of Galaxy 1 where they took out all the interesting parts.

[00:36:01] See, but at least Galaxy 2 is fun to play.

[00:36:05] Yeah, it's still a good game.

[00:36:07] But like, you could tell he was pissed that they snuck the storybook under him.

[00:36:11] So he's like, fuck it, get rid of all that shit.

[00:36:13] Well, it's interesting to me because like, sticker star is so boring.

[00:36:16] Like, this is a game that like, it's a struggle to play through because you're so fucking bored because literally nothing happens.

[00:36:24] Just like the MCU.

[00:36:26] And there's no challenge.

[00:36:27] There's no challenge at all.

[00:36:28] Yeah, but Galaxy 2 has fun levels.

[00:36:30] There's nothing in a sticker star that's the best aspects of sticker stars.

[00:36:34] It has a great soundtrack.

[00:36:36] It looks really nice because they went for the like this paper craft look, which actually looks really nice.

[00:36:41] No, yeah.

[00:36:42] 3DS.

[00:36:43] That's about it.

[00:36:45] And it's actually kind of funny because apparently around the same time when the Mario and Luigi counterpart Dream Team came out, apparently in the background, they tried to enforce the same stuff on Alpha Dream when they were making Dream Team.

[00:36:57] And Alpha Dream kind of just said, told Nintendo to fuck off and made the game they wanted.

[00:37:02] Yeah.

[00:37:02] Dream Team has its own issues.

[00:37:03] Well, the Dream Team's problem is I think Dream Team like hugs nostalgia too hard.

[00:37:08] Like, yeah.

[00:37:09] And also the game is way too long.

[00:37:11] It's long.

[00:37:12] Way too goddamn long.

[00:37:13] It is so tutorial heavy at the start.

[00:37:16] Yes.

[00:37:16] It's getting into the actual once you get into the game, it's fine.

[00:37:19] It's fine.

[00:37:20] Yeah.

[00:37:21] Holy fuck.

[00:37:21] That game hugs nostalgia worse than fucking some like anniversary games.

[00:37:26] Yeah.

[00:37:26] Which for a Mario game is saying a lot.

[00:37:29] Yeah.

[00:37:30] Yeah.

[00:37:30] Well, yeah.

[00:37:30] Sticker Star is an abomination and I never want to play that game again.

[00:37:34] Yeah.

[00:37:34] Like I've seen people try to defend it, but it's like, guys, stop, stop.

[00:37:39] Like I could see people trying to defend, say, like DMC2, right?

[00:37:43] Where it's like, it's not that bad and it probably isn't that bad.

[00:37:46] But, you know, Sticker Star is like that bad.

[00:37:49] It's so bad.

[00:37:50] It kind of killed the mystique of the Paper Mario series.

[00:37:54] You know, there was a good point where I thought intelligent systems was fucking dumb.

[00:37:58] I thought it was just a bad game from them.

[00:38:04] Yeah.

[00:38:05] And I think they were kind of struggling around that time.

[00:38:08] Yeah.

[00:38:08] Because all the Fire Emblems weren't doing well.

[00:38:10] And then Awakening just was the perfect time.

[00:38:14] Saved by the waifus.

[00:38:18] It's all right.

[00:38:19] Cause I'm saved by the waifus.

[00:38:22] It's really not even that bad in Awakening.

[00:38:24] Zack Morris is trash.

[00:38:25] He is a fucking piece of shit.

[00:38:27] It's one of my favorite YouTube series where they just detail how fucking awful he was in that whole show.

[00:38:32] I've seen that shit, dude.

[00:38:34] Yeah.

[00:38:35] Some good stuff.

[00:38:36] Is it your turn thrack?

[00:38:38] Sure.

[00:38:38] Okay.

[00:38:39] So this is the Mega Man section.

[00:38:42] So I hope Jerry's paying attention.

[00:38:44] The Mega Man wall.

[00:38:45] So in the last like year or so, I've played through the first 10 Mega Man games, like the classic series.

[00:38:54] Mega Man.

[00:38:54] Yeah.

[00:38:55] I need to like properly sit down and play Mega Man 11.

[00:38:58] So I don't have too much to say on that.

[00:39:00] But in my time playing the classic Mega Man series, I was glad I finally sat down and played them.

[00:39:06] Cause you know, for the most part, they're classic games, but there was one game that stuck out to me where people were like, this is either considered the one of the best or one of the worst, depending on who you ask.

[00:39:17] Oh, can I, can I guess?

[00:39:19] Can I guess?

[00:39:19] Take a wild guess.

[00:39:20] Mega Man 8?

[00:39:21] No.

[00:39:22] Damn it.

[00:39:23] But I really like Mega Man 8.

[00:39:25] Like to me, Mega Man 8 is kind of what like Mega Man 9 and 10 should have been.

[00:39:30] Cause you know, 9 being 8 bit, I thought was cool and all that.

[00:39:33] But when 10 was also 8 bit, I was like, that's lame.

[00:39:36] You know?

[00:39:37] And then 11 made its own art style, which I think was good.

[00:39:40] But no, the, the Mega Man game I'm referring to is Mega Man 7.

[00:39:44] 7.

[00:39:44] Okay.

[00:39:45] I was close.

[00:39:45] I knew there was one.

[00:39:47] That was, yeah.

[00:39:49] Yeah.

[00:39:50] Yeah.

[00:39:50] 7 is of the Mega Man games I've played.

[00:39:54] It is my least favorite by a considerable amount.

[00:39:57] I found this game to be a slog to play through and especially coming off of like, they had made the Mega Man X games by this point.

[00:40:06] And the X games were like really good evolutions from classic Mega Man.

[00:40:10] So them going back to the classic was like, oh, maybe they'll take some of the lessons from X.

[00:40:14] And then they really don't.

[00:40:16] They just make this really like just awful to play game where it's like, like the, like Mega Man is, it's like, it's too zoomed in.

[00:40:24] So it's hard to judge.

[00:40:26] His sprite is way too big.

[00:40:27] His sprite is way too big.

[00:40:28] The jumping doesn't feel all that great.

[00:40:30] Uh, the enemy placement can be a bit garbage.

[00:40:33] Like the music isn't even that great, which for a Mega Man game is rough, man.

[00:40:37] Mm-hmm.

[00:40:37] And then you only have like the four or five boss masters.

[00:40:40] Yeah.

[00:40:41] Like it's that they started that whole thing where they only give you some of the, uh, yeah.

[00:40:46] Oh yeah.

[00:40:46] They give you the first four and then they give you the next four later.

[00:40:49] Yeah.

[00:40:50] Which is just again, really stupid.

[00:40:51] And like the robot master powers aren't even all that interesting either.

[00:40:56] And like, especially like this is if you're coming off of Mega Man six, right?

[00:41:01] Like the last one on the NES, which is one of my personal favorite games in the series.

[00:41:04] I love Mega Man six two bits, right?

[00:41:07] Like that game is fucking cool.

[00:41:08] So to get to Mega Man seven and it's like has way too much story.

[00:41:12] Like all this dialogue that you can't skip.

[00:41:15] And then it, of course, they're trying to make base in trouble more like prominent characters in the series.

[00:41:20] I have not played Mega Man base, so I have, I have no comment on that one, but, but yeah, just I like playing through the Mega Man games seven was like noticeably the worst one for me, you know, like, like the one right above it is probably Mega Man.

[00:41:34] Mega Man four.

[00:41:35] And, and the only reason Mega Man four is that low is just because to me, it's just kind of whatever.

[00:41:39] Like, it's not a bad game, but it's like the, the mega buster isn't handled well in that game.

[00:41:43] And I don't know.

[00:41:45] It's just kind of, they, I felt like they didn't really know what they were doing, whereas I think five and six kind of pick up the pace a little bit.

[00:41:52] I actually defend Mega Man five.

[00:41:53] Come at me.

[00:41:54] I'm looking at a bunch of screenshots for, for Mega Man seven, and you aren't fucking kidding about it being way too zoomed in.

[00:42:01] And you can see like this much of the bucket.

[00:42:04] It's a combination of it zoomed in and his sprite is just huge.

[00:42:08] Yeah.

[00:42:09] And the thing is, it doesn't really come into play until like Wiley's castle.

[00:42:14] Like Wiley's castle is ridiculously hard because of that.

[00:42:18] You know, whereas if it was in any other, like Mega Man eight fixes that issue.

[00:42:22] Like I think Mega Man eight, I think it has a stronger art style, more interesting set of robot masters.

[00:42:28] And, and yeah, the level design is a lot better.

[00:42:30] The only part about eight that really sucks is the jump, jump, slide, slide, jump, jump, slide.

[00:42:36] Those sections are not great.

[00:42:39] No, they're not.

[00:42:40] That has the greatest voice acting ever.

[00:42:43] Dr.

[00:42:44] Why we seriously, those anime cut scenes for Mega Man eight with the English dub is like all time, like peak nineties English dub anime stuff.

[00:42:56] See, it is the best thing. The best is Mega Man X four where they have the same anime cut scenes and they just use the same actors.

[00:43:04] So X is voiced by the same person as a root as Mega Man. And it's so bad, but it also gave us the, it also gave us the classic.

[00:43:12] What are we fighting for? Like scream.

[00:43:15] Yeah.

[00:43:16] I still haven't played through the X games yet.

[00:43:18] So when I eventually finish 11, I will then do the X, I have all the X games as well.

[00:43:23] So you can skip it.

[00:43:24] No X seven talk here. Cause I know people hate X seven, but I have not played it. So X eight is great.

[00:43:29] No X seven.

[00:43:31] X seven is the one everyone hates.

[00:43:33] Is that the one that everybody hates?

[00:43:36] Cause that X seven is the one that's like 3d.

[00:43:38] I guess I don't know numbers. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That is the one that sucks ass. Okay. Yeah.

[00:43:42] Yeah. Cause that was the return to form.

[00:43:44] Yeah. Yeah. X seven. They're trying to be like, Oh, let's make a full 3d game. And everyone's like this bad.

[00:43:51] Yeah. We'll chuck that in there too. Listeners. This one sucks as well. Mega man.

[00:43:54] Yeah. Yeah. I haven't even played it.

[00:43:56] To be fair though. X six is also really bad.

[00:43:59] Yeah. Basically every game after X four, people are like, and we're not sure about this.

[00:44:04] See five. I give a pass. Cause it has the greatest fucking boss names ever.

[00:44:11] Oh, the guns and roses one. Yeah. It has a, it has a boss named Duff McWhale. And that's just the greatest thing ever.

[00:44:18] Mr. Brownstone or something fucking stupid.

[00:44:21] Something stupid. Yeah. Well, my Michelle is a song in, um, Mega man X three. It's one of the stage teams.

[00:44:28] Yeah. But who knows? Maybe we'll revisit this in the future. Cause there's lots of up.

[00:44:32] Yeah. Speaking of Brown, let's, let's talk about soul caliber five for a second.

[00:44:38] Oh man. Oh man. I story mode. That's all I remember about that game.

[00:44:46] It is the worst of the soul calibers. I will. Yeah. But I don't think it's a bad game.

[00:44:51] Oh yeah. So, so compared to like, so yeah, the first, first soul caliber, amazing to masterpiece.

[00:44:59] More amazing. Masterpiece. So caliber three, not, not as great, but it's still pretty fucking cool.

[00:45:06] What's weird. What's weird with three is I hate that it was PS two exclusive.

[00:45:10] Cause I think it was just Sony being a dick about their version being the least selling one, but it has like the best single player content in the series, which is like RTS shit.

[00:45:20] Oh yeah. It kind of pisses me off because I went from two to four.

[00:45:25] Yep. Cause you know, I had two on the game cube.

[00:45:27] And then when the three 60 came, so caliber four was like a big deal in my friend circle at the time.

[00:45:32] So we all got it and we're playing it like crazy.

[00:45:34] And then that made me go, wait a minute, I didn't play so caliber three.

[00:45:37] And then I learned it was on PS two and I'm like, why was this only on PS two?

[00:45:40] What the fuck?

[00:45:40] You can also corrupt your memory card cause it has a glitch with the saving system.

[00:45:45] Oh yeah. Yeah. I've heard about that.

[00:45:47] Yeah. But yeah. Anyway, so caliber five. Yeah. This is the one with, uh, with Ezio in it.

[00:45:52] Yeah. Yeah. So, and then the soul caliber three, we went over that soul caliber four was still like, it wasn't as good as, as two.

[00:46:00] Well, yeah. So caliber four was good. It was pretty sweet.

[00:46:02] I like, it's not as good as one or two, but I, but I feel like it was, you know, it was still really good.

[00:46:08] Yeah. Story content or not story. The single player content was still good.

[00:46:11] All that Star Wars stuff was cool. Cause it was like, well, that was still when like stages and shit too.

[00:46:17] And that's still when like adding star Wars stuff was like still special.

[00:46:22] Yeah.

[00:46:22] It was like the pre, it was like between the prequels and like the Disney buyout. So anything Star Wars was like, Oh, it's kind of like a treat.

[00:46:29] So having Yoda and Vader and Starkiller basically to promote force unleashed.

[00:46:34] It was cool.

[00:46:35] It was really cool.

[00:46:36] And then, and then the character creation was way more cause so the character creation started in three and it was all right.

[00:46:44] And then you get to four and it's like the best it's ever fucking been.

[00:46:48] Cause you had all sorts of cool unlockable costumes like cosmos from Ceno saga.

[00:46:52] Um, I forgot all the other ones, but that was one that really stuck out and then you get to five and it's, to me was pretty meh.

[00:47:00] Haven't been there since like the first game coming from like one, two, three, four, and then to five.

[00:47:05] It's like, like Ezio was a cool idea, but he just wasn't all that fun to play.

[00:47:11] Uh, they're really, I don't recall a single player even really being that fun to play.

[00:47:17] Like it was also so boring.

[00:47:19] Yeah.

[00:47:21] Well, and they replaced, they replaced so many characters.

[00:47:25] I mean, it made sense.

[00:47:25] They replaced so many characters with like the, the kids or the descendants of, of, of previous characters.

[00:47:31] Like they didn't have, um, oh man, they didn't have, uh, Kilik or Talim or like a bunch of the other ones.

[00:47:40] They, they were instead like their disciples or descendants or whatever the fuck.

[00:47:45] And that kind of sucked. Cause, uh, cause Maxie was fucking awesome, but they didn't have him in there.

[00:47:51] Yeah. Like, so I think Soul Calibur five, the only reason that it, it happened was because like there was a petition for it.

[00:47:59] And Namco was like, oh, people still want these.

[00:48:02] And so they just kind of threw one together.

[00:48:04] Cause I remember when I eventually played Soul Calibur five, I played it.

[00:48:08] It was, uh, it was, it had been out for a few years at that point.

[00:48:11] And I didn't know they had a five, but a friend of mine's like, Hey, let's play some Soul Cal five.

[00:48:15] And I remember I was playing and I'm like, this doesn't feel as good as four.

[00:48:19] Yeah.

[00:48:19] Like it just doesn't play as well.

[00:48:21] Like it looks pretty solid, but yeah.

[00:48:23] Like, yeah.

[00:48:24] As like Ezio's move set, isn't really that great.

[00:48:27] It's very boring.

[00:48:28] It doesn't take advantage of all of the unique stuff that he could do, you know?

[00:48:32] And that's the thing.

[00:48:33] This was like after revelations.

[00:48:35] So you could have easily done like all kinds of stuff with that CEO and then they don't, which they don't take advantage of.

[00:48:40] And yeah, it just, it, it just, it felt like it played a lot more plainly than the other Soul Caliburs.

[00:48:46] Like it doesn't take as advantage of like the 3d fighting as the other ones do like five and a lot of way just feels like a 2d fighter and not like a strong one.

[00:48:55] You know what I mean?

[00:48:56] It felt very safe.

[00:48:58] Like it's like one of the safest fighting games I've ever played.

[00:49:01] Yeah.

[00:49:02] Which is a shame.

[00:49:03] Yeah.

[00:49:04] And like the fucking, the, the care, what was cool about the character creation in four was that you could make like, um, you could make a character as close as to like one of the actual characters and like copy their fighting style.

[00:49:18] Cause you could have like, you could make a character and give them nightmares fighting style or like make a character and give them like, um, uh, Takis fighting style or whatever.

[00:49:26] And that'd be where, what I'm getting at is like the moves in the attacks and the moves that you can do in five just feel really, really fucking boring.

[00:49:35] Cause some of the shit you could do in like, even like two and four, some of the moves you could do were really fucking sweet.

[00:49:42] Like all the shit that nightmare could do, like the cool spin attacks that went all the way around the fucking screen grabbing someone and just fucking throwing their fucking face into the ground.

[00:49:52] Yeah.

[00:49:52] It just, it just felt really, really plain in five.

[00:49:56] And I think that's one of the ones that I've played the least, but except for six, actually, I always forget about six.

[00:50:04] Sorry.

[00:50:04] Well, I can say, I think soul caliber six is an improvement.

[00:50:08] That's like, I like, it's not, again, it doesn't reach the heights of the earlier games, but I think coming off of five, it is a much stronger experience.

[00:50:16] And it feels like they were putting a lot more effort to make soul caliber six more of like a, you know, what made soul caliber so impressive in the first place.

[00:50:25] Um, and it's a shame that that's still like the last one, which was like, I think 2018.

[00:50:30] So hopefully I would love a soul caliber seven, but I'm not going to hold my breath on that one.

[00:50:37] So, yeah.

[00:50:39] Yeah.

[00:50:39] And what's, and a little fun fact, soul caliber six, uh, it has a DLC character from samurai showdown.

[00:50:47] This is really, yes, it does.

[00:50:48] It has, uh, how Maru, I probably said that name wrong with the main character guy.

[00:50:54] I'm sure.

[00:50:56] Yes, it is.

[00:50:57] Yeah.

[00:50:57] Yeah.

[00:50:58] Cause like, yeah.

[00:50:59] Cause like Geralt was the big one in six.

[00:51:01] Um, 2B was a DLC character later.

[00:51:05] So yeah, it's a fun game.

[00:51:07] So, so Cal six.

[00:51:08] Awesome.

[00:51:09] That's really cool.

[00:51:11] Before we get to our next round of picks.

[00:51:13] Should we take an ad break?

[00:51:14] Let's do it.

[00:51:15] Sure.

[00:51:16] Let's do it.

[00:51:17] We'll be right back.

[00:54:44] Have a good one.

[00:54:54] Oh man, I almost, I feel bad whipping out this, this doozy of an idea without Jerry, but...

[00:55:01] Save it. It's fine.

[00:55:03] No, no, fuck it. We're doing it.

[00:55:05] Fuck him.

[00:55:10] So, so year 2024, you know, we've got, we've got vegans, there's paleo diets, there's...

[00:55:17] Equestrians.

[00:55:18] Yeah, Equestria, keto diets, all these fancy diets that people can go on cutting out all sorts of shit, but there's nothing for cannibals.

[00:55:27] What about cannibals, man?

[00:55:28] Cannibals are people too.

[00:55:30] They're terrible, but they're people too.

[00:55:32] Uh, introducing, uh, introducing cannibal crunchies.

[00:55:36] For, for when you're cannibal, you just can't find something good for breakfast.

[00:55:40] Cannibal crunchies is there for you.

[00:55:41] It's the first ever cannibal, uh, breakfast cereal.

[00:55:45] Made for a real human.

[00:55:47] Um, don't ask us how we get it, but, uh, cannibal crunchies, everybody.

[00:55:50] They come in so many great flavors.

[00:55:53] There's cocoa cannibal crunchies.

[00:55:55] There's fruity, F-R-O-O-T-Y cannibal crunchies.

[00:55:59] There's frosted cannibal crunchies.

[00:56:04] There's Wheaties crunchies, where it has like the, the newest, like a cannibal athlete of the month on the cover.

[00:56:10] Ooh, yeah.

[00:56:11] It's got Serena Williams on the front, cause she's a cannibal secretly.

[00:56:14] Well, no, the mascot is obviously Armin Maibis.

[00:56:17] It has to be.

[00:56:20] Let's see how many people get that one.

[00:56:22] What a fucking poll.

[00:56:25] Oh, man.

[00:56:27] But Aaron, you have to, they have, we have to know, is there a vegetarian option?

[00:56:31] No, cause they're cannibals.

[00:56:33] Cannibals don't eat vegetables.

[00:56:34] Well, what if it's a vegan human that we're harvesting?

[00:56:37] Does that make it vegan?

[00:56:40] No.

[00:56:41] He's thinking really hard guys.

[00:56:43] No, cause they eat people.

[00:56:45] There's no part of the human body is vegan cause it comes from a person.

[00:56:50] So, yeah.

[00:56:51] So there's like, yeah, the, there's the cannibal crunchies, but now they're, they add in like

[00:56:55] fleshios.

[00:56:56] So you can get that kind of like fleshy taste right next to the bones, you know?

[00:57:00] I just spit all over my bike.

[00:57:01] And, and instead of using milk, uh, they, they give you a gallon of like real human blood

[00:57:06] to really get that, that human experience in there.

[00:57:09] You know what I mean?

[00:57:10] Like it's more viscous.

[00:57:12] It's like the exact opposite of a vegan.

[00:57:14] Like you want to, you want to be all in, all in on the human part.

[00:57:18] Like, Oh yeah.

[00:57:19] Like you're drinking their stuff.

[00:57:20] Like you're drinking their salty ass blood.

[00:57:23] Cause you know, they eat a lot of fast food.

[00:57:24] Yeah.

[00:57:25] I don't want, I don't want like chicken eggs.

[00:57:27] What the fuck?

[00:57:28] I want like, I want human eggs.

[00:57:30] I want human eggs.

[00:57:32] Like the reptile person.

[00:57:34] Get their eggs.

[00:57:37] Well, humans have eggs.

[00:57:40] Well, you can't crack open a human egg.

[00:57:43] We haven't tried that yet.

[00:57:45] That's true.

[00:57:45] Yeah.

[00:57:46] We're testing that in the cannibal crunchy slab right now.

[00:57:49] Testing it out.

[00:57:50] Oops.

[00:57:50] All human eggs.

[00:57:52] What are those?

[00:57:53] What are those?

[00:57:53] Like, what are they called?

[00:57:54] Bull testicles?

[00:57:55] Like Illinois oysters or whatever.

[00:57:57] Do they have the male, the human version of that?

[00:57:59] Oh, there you go.

[00:58:01] That's the human egg.

[00:58:02] Yeah.

[00:58:02] You crack open a testicle on the side of a frying pan.

[00:58:05] Yeah.

[00:58:06] It sizzles like, Ooh, okay.

[00:58:08] There you go.

[00:58:09] Can I get my testy sunny side up?

[00:58:13] Can you scramble my testies?

[00:58:17] Oh, this gets me over hard.

[00:58:18] Let me tell you.

[00:58:21] Speaking of that, yeah, you can cut off a, cut off a dong, slice it in half, throw it on the, on the old flat top and bam, you've got yourself a little sausage sando.

[00:58:30] The Lorena Bobbitt special.

[00:58:32] Yeah, there we go.

[00:58:33] We're talking about cannibal crunchies.

[00:58:34] Oh man.

[00:58:35] Yeah.

[00:58:36] Sponsored by cannibal corpse.

[00:58:38] Oh yeah.

[00:58:38] Yeah.

[00:58:39] Yeah.

[00:58:39] Hammer smashed face.

[00:58:40] That's one of the cereal flavors.

[00:58:44] Holy shit.

[00:58:44] Bennett's got cool little toys.

[00:58:46] You can get in there.

[00:58:47] Like cool, uh, cannibal type toys, like a bone saw.

[00:58:51] Ooh.

[00:58:52] Bone saw is ready.

[00:58:53] Um, ready.

[00:58:56] Um, what, what, what's other, what's another cannibal toy guys?

[00:59:01] Uh, each box comes with a free copy of the Hills have eyes.

[00:59:05] Oh, that's good.

[00:59:07] Oh, that's good.

[00:59:08] And, uh, what's, um, uh, uh, a free, you can win a free copy.

[00:59:12] So it looks like a sweepstakes where you can win like a free copy of every single Jeffrey Dahmer documentary documentary documentary there is out there.

[00:59:20] No, no, you know, you're in our contest and the first prize gets one of the blue barrels that he used to put people in.

[00:59:26] Ooh.

[00:59:27] Yeah.

[00:59:28] Freshly.

[00:59:28] The person may still be in that blue barrel.

[00:59:30] We're not a hundred percent sure it weighs about as much as a human body.

[00:59:34] So, but we can't confirm that there's a human body in there.

[00:59:37] You know?

[00:59:37] We, we refuse to open it and refuse to crack it open and look because that'll tamper with the seal.

[00:59:42] The, the proper seal it's on there.

[00:59:44] There it's aged like a fine wine.

[00:59:45] You know, it's going to be good.

[00:59:47] Like a, like a good jar of pickles.

[00:59:48] It's been a good jar of preserves.

[00:59:52] Sorry.

[00:59:54] Fermented human.

[00:59:55] The kimchi.

[00:59:58] Human kimchi.

[00:59:59] And his name was kimchi.

[01:00:01] That was his name too.

[01:00:06] Cannibal, cannibal crunchies, everybody.

[01:00:09] Um, oh, and there's a hamburger helper option.

[01:00:11] Cannibal helper.

[01:00:12] Oh, absolutely.

[01:00:13] Cannibal.

[01:00:15] Just add human meat.

[01:00:17] She's like potatoes stroking off with human meat in there, dude.

[01:00:22] Like a little piece and stuff.

[01:00:23] That's Hannibal Lecter having a lazy night.

[01:00:25] He's like, uh, Bob, I'm just going to make some hamburger helper.

[01:00:30] Hello, Clarice.

[01:00:31] Would you care to join me for some hamburger helper?

[01:00:34] For some cannibal helper.

[01:00:37] Jokes on you, Agent Starling.

[01:00:39] It's actually human in your potatoes.

[01:00:42] I don't know.

[01:00:43] I don't know what I'm trying to fucking go for.

[01:00:45] Cannibal crunchies, everybody.

[01:00:46] Soyl and green.

[01:00:47] It's people.

[01:00:50] Hamburger helper is people.

[01:00:53] Oh, boy.

[01:00:55] That's that's it.

[01:00:56] That's the ad.

[01:00:56] Thanks for sponsoring the show.

[01:00:57] Cannibals.

[01:00:59] Where's my check?

[01:01:02] Like there's some fucking like there's some subsidiary of Betty Crocker.

[01:01:07] That's like for cannibals or something.

[01:01:09] Well, like like like if one of the laborers is like, you know, making a making too much of a stir.

[01:01:14] They just sacrifice them to the cannibal helper section.

[01:01:17] Oh, there you go.

[01:01:18] It's like that Simpsons Halloween special where they start eating the children.

[01:01:25] Exactly.

[01:01:41] Let's cannibalize some games.

[01:01:44] I think it was Bill's turn.

[01:01:48] Yes.

[01:01:49] So.

[01:01:51] We had mentioned previously another one.

[01:01:54] Star Wars, the force unleashed.

[01:01:56] That game had a sequel, but a lot of people don't remember because it sucked.

[01:02:00] Oh, I bet.

[01:02:02] I was doing research for this.

[01:02:03] I saw that game pop up a lot.

[01:02:06] It it's literally so force unleashed was really cool for the time just because it was like a Star Wars game that was actually trying shit for once.

[01:02:14] Has some really cool psychic powers, like the whole like pulling the fucking like Star Destroyer psychic powers like towards like force, whatever.

[01:02:23] I'm just joking.

[01:02:24] I haven't gave a shit about Star Wars in so long.

[01:02:26] But I remember because that game came out.

[01:02:29] It was like critically acclaimed and then people just kind of forgot about it.

[01:02:32] And then they just kind of like farted out a sequel like a couple of years later and it just like it fell so flat.

[01:02:39] And it's like, I mean, they could they completely retcon the whole like ending with like Starkiller and they're just like surprise.

[01:02:45] He survived.

[01:02:46] And then it's just a generic game that really has no substance.

[01:02:52] It's just one of those ones that's it's not even bad.

[01:02:55] It's just so disappointing.

[01:02:57] Which I think.

[01:02:58] Yeah.

[01:02:59] Yeah.

[01:02:59] Yeah.

[01:02:59] I remember when the first force unleash came out, it was a big, big deal.

[01:03:03] Like they were pushing it to really be this big deal and it was fun.

[01:03:06] Like it was for I think it was like the most like Jedi feeling sort of experience we had had at that point, you know, or like the closest we had to feeling like a true Jedi kind of thing.

[01:03:16] Even though there was that episode three game on PS2 that I still have a fondness for.

[01:03:21] I played that recently.

[01:03:24] Yeah, it's been a long time since I played it, but you know, still for it though.

[01:03:29] Oh, yeah.

[01:03:30] But, but yeah, before Sun Leashed was kind of like the next step to like trying to have like a kind of like a hack and slashy kind of thing.

[01:03:38] And I think I rented it once and found it to be, you know, it was fine.

[01:03:42] It was a bit buggy, but it was nothing like, yeah, but he didn't like get in the way of the game.

[01:03:47] And then, yeah, I remember that sequel came out and I was asking people like, oh, how's the sequel?

[01:03:51] And they're like, don't know.

[01:03:53] No, no, don't.

[01:03:54] Don't.

[01:03:54] They didn't really update the gameplay at all.

[01:03:57] It's pretty much the same gameplay, but the story is so much worse.

[01:04:00] So it was just kind of like it's like if you like the first one, this game shits all over the first game that you love so much.

[01:04:08] Yeah.

[01:04:08] But thank, but thankfully, if you want to play like a Jedi game, just get Jedi Fallen Order or Jedi Survivor.

[01:04:14] Like you'll be much better off.

[01:04:15] Yeah.

[01:04:17] I haven't played.

[01:04:19] I don't think I haven't played either of those Star Wars Jedi games.

[01:04:23] I've played a very little tiny amount of Force Unleashed and Force Unleashed 2, but they seem cool.

[01:04:32] I recommend Fallen Order like it's on Game Pass, I think.

[01:04:36] And it is a stupid fun game.

[01:04:38] It's not super long either.

[01:04:39] I think it took me maybe 20 hours.

[01:04:41] That's not bad.

[01:04:42] And yeah, it's it is like a bitch in good time.

[01:04:45] Like it is fantastic.

[01:04:46] Like it's a game that truly gives you like that feeling of, oh, I'm a Jedi.

[01:04:50] I can do all this cool Jedi shit like this is great.

[01:04:52] You know, and Survivor just does that, but more, which is in some ways better and in some ways worse.

[01:04:57] But it's still a very high quality video game.

[01:04:59] Nice.

[01:05:01] So not speaking of high quality video games, I'm going to do a personal selection, a game that I grew up with and a game that I have a rigorous hatred for as a child, as an adult.

[01:05:15] And it's a game that I will play on the Genesis stream one of these days because it is a Sega Genesis game.

[01:05:21] It is Pac-Man 2 The New Adventures.

[01:05:25] This fucking dog shit ass game is like the bane of my existence.

[01:05:30] Now, I assume I know Bill's played it.

[01:05:33] I can just tell.

[01:05:34] Oh, my God.

[01:05:35] Playing it is a generous term.

[01:05:37] Yeah.

[01:05:37] You kind of just experience it.

[01:05:39] Yeah.

[01:05:39] So it has amazing cover art as you could probably see Aaron.

[01:05:44] Yeah, I'm looking at it right now.

[01:05:45] He's just gliding with his just gaping ass mouth open, you know, he wants a gaping ass mouth.

[01:05:50] He wants some cannibal crunchies, you know what I mean?

[01:05:54] Yeah.

[01:05:54] So this game, right?

[01:05:56] They're like, OK, we're making a Pac-Man 2.

[01:05:59] What the hell do we do with a Pac-Man 2?

[01:06:01] And then by the way, this is and by the way, this is 1994, right?

[01:06:05] This this game came out in Japan two days after I was born.

[01:06:08] Fucking bad omen.

[01:06:09] And so they were like, OK, so this game is known for its mazes, like the maze style arcade

[01:06:16] gameplay.

[01:06:17] So what we're going to do is we're going to make a point and click adventure game for

[01:06:23] consoles, although not for PC, for fucking consoles.

[01:06:27] And on top of that, it is a dog shit point and click game because Pac-Man refuses to do

[01:06:35] shit that just simple things like you want them to look at something and it'll do the

[01:06:40] look, look and he'll just and he'll look at it.

[01:06:43] He'll turn around.

[01:06:44] He'll look at it for a second.

[01:06:46] And a lot of times he'll just shrug his shoulders and keep going.

[01:06:49] Yeah, it's like you son of a and then it makes you and it makes you mad.

[01:06:53] So you do it again and then Pac-Man again like whatever.

[01:06:56] And then he gets mad at you for telling him what to do despite it being a game where you're

[01:07:02] supposedly telling him what the fuck to do when it's like, bro, you've got to get the empty

[01:07:07] milk bottle off of the sign, but you can't break it with the slingshot.

[01:07:12] So you have to do in just the right way to knock it to the ground so you can pick it up and then

[01:07:15] give it to the fucking farmer to milk the fucking cow.

[01:07:19] So you can put the milk in and take it back to Miss Pac-Man so she doesn't

[01:07:22] properly breastfeed the child because she has no nipples.

[01:07:26] So it's a formula baby.

[01:07:27] It's a pack baby is a formula as baby and it goes off.

[01:07:33] It is fucking insane.

[01:07:35] I hate this game so much.

[01:07:37] So eventually when I play it on stream, I'll probably play through the whole thing because

[01:07:40] it's like I need to hate beat this game.

[01:07:44] I hate it so much.

[01:07:45] It might be the most hated game of all time for me.

[01:07:48] Point and click.

[01:07:48] Point and click isn't a good way to describe this game.

[01:07:51] It's more like point and suggest.

[01:07:54] Yeah.

[01:07:55] Yeah.

[01:07:56] And like the layout of the and like the layout of the town doesn't make any sense.

[01:08:01] And like occasionally ghosts show up and fuck shit up, which you have to get a power pellet

[01:08:06] and then stupid.

[01:08:07] Yeah.

[01:08:07] And when you get the power pellet, you turn to like super Pac-Man and he just flies from

[01:08:12] the one end of the screen to the other like a few times and then he stops.

[01:08:16] Yeah.

[01:08:17] It is a nightmare of a game.

[01:08:19] It is fucking terrible.

[01:08:21] I hate it so much.

[01:08:22] When I play this game, I eventually get frustrated and then I just start pelting Pac-Man with the

[01:08:26] fucking pellets because I'm just like, fuck you.

[01:08:28] Yeah.

[01:08:28] Yeah.

[01:08:29] I guess it borrows elements from Pac-Land.

[01:08:31] I don't know if you guys have played Pac-Land.

[01:08:33] Well, Pac-Land was actually a game.

[01:08:35] This is just a piece of fucking shit.

[01:08:38] Yeah.

[01:08:38] Pac-Land tries to be like a like a side scrolling like Pac-Man game, but it's like an auto scroller

[01:08:45] the whole time.

[01:08:46] And it's just like I played it on the Pac-Man Museum Club collection and I do not like it

[01:08:51] at all.

[01:08:52] It's a very it's a very poor side scroller.

[01:08:55] Yeah.

[01:08:55] And somehow this game is worse.

[01:08:58] Yeah.

[01:08:59] Pac-Man 2.

[01:09:00] I hate it with a with a undot.

[01:09:03] Oh, God.

[01:09:04] Fuck you.

[01:09:05] Pac-Man 2.

[01:09:06] Seriously.

[01:09:06] You wouldn't get a good I man style game until like world.

[01:09:10] Yeah.

[01:09:10] Like I'm impressed with like all the animation and like sprite art they did for Pac-Man in

[01:09:15] this game.

[01:09:16] He's very expressive.

[01:09:18] I'm like, he'll start crying like he will break down and start crying.

[01:09:21] And then there's like bits where he'll hit like rakes.

[01:09:23] He'll get chased away from dogs.

[01:09:25] You know, there's a lot of there's a lot of spectacle in this game, but it is just just

[01:09:30] a goddamn dumpster fireman.

[01:09:32] Oh, my God.

[01:09:33] God.

[01:09:34] He's also a smug little shit sometimes like he'll like do this.

[01:09:37] He'll just go.

[01:09:38] It breaks the wall.

[01:09:39] Yeah.

[01:09:40] Like occasionally there'll be a thing that's like, this is a bad idea.

[01:09:42] Don't do it.

[01:09:43] And he'll just do it anyways and be like a smug asshole.

[01:09:45] And you're just like, oh, it's awful.

[01:09:48] The best part of the game is when you like get to the barn and there's that farmer who's

[01:09:54] sleeping and there's that bit of hay, you can use the slingshot to to knock it.

[01:09:58] And it just but collapses like the hay into the guy.

[01:10:02] And Pac-Man just looks at it.

[01:10:03] And he's like, the fuck was that?

[01:10:06] Like, that's the best part of the game for sure.

[01:10:08] I've never beaten this game.

[01:10:09] I know it's not super long because there was like a hand glider, the hang glider section

[01:10:13] and all that.

[01:10:14] But I'm like, no, Jesus Christ.

[01:10:17] I'm adding the smug Pac-Man as an emoji.

[01:10:21] This is fucking sick.

[01:10:23] You're just going to add like fucking psychotic Pac-Man from the cover.

[01:10:26] Yeah, seriously, when you get a chance, like, like watch a play through and just see all

[01:10:30] the different facial interactions of him.

[01:10:32] It's great.

[01:10:33] Or eventually, eventually, when I when I when I play it on stream, I'll probably just be

[01:10:37] like, I'm just going to beat this game.

[01:10:38] I'm going to try my best to beat this on stream.

[01:10:40] So I never have to play it again.

[01:10:42] Fuck Pac-Man.

[01:10:43] That smug little asshole.

[01:10:45] Such a dog shit game.

[01:10:46] I hate it so much.

[01:10:48] Dude.

[01:10:49] All right.

[01:10:50] Speaking of dog shit, Dragon Age 2.

[01:10:53] Oh, my God.

[01:10:54] Is that game that bad?

[01:10:56] I didn't think it was that bad.

[01:10:57] It's mediocre compared to original.

[01:11:00] So I haven't played Origins.

[01:11:02] I haven't played Inquisition.

[01:11:03] I played like 10 minutes of two and thought it was OK.

[01:11:06] Yeah.

[01:11:07] So I guess that's yeah, that's a fair thing to say, because like, yeah, if it's your

[01:11:10] only Dragon Age, it's all right.

[01:11:13] I guess in the same way that like if Devil May Cry 2 is your only Devil May Cry,

[01:11:16] it's all right.

[01:11:18] Yeah, but but having so Dragon Age Origins is probably like the guy I've only played

[01:11:25] Origins 2 and Inquisition.

[01:11:29] Origins was awesome.

[01:11:31] It's really in depth.

[01:11:32] There is so much freedom and so much shit.

[01:11:34] It's basically like Baldur's Gate before Baldur's Gate, which might with much less.

[01:11:39] It's the same dudes, right?

[01:11:40] Or it's the same dudes who did the original Baldur's Gate.

[01:11:42] It's Bioware.

[01:11:44] Yeah, Bioware.

[01:11:45] Mass Effect guys.

[01:11:46] Yeah.

[01:11:46] They did the original Baldur's Gate, I think.

[01:11:49] Yes.

[01:11:50] Yeah.

[01:11:50] And two.

[01:11:51] Yeah, two.

[01:11:52] Yeah.

[01:11:52] Coming from Origins, where you can do so much.

[01:11:55] You have so much freedom over your characters and like how basically there's so much you

[01:12:00] can do in Origins.

[01:12:01] And then you get to two and you're very restricted.

[01:12:04] And then the combat is dumb to the, like the combat in Origins was basically like Baldur's

[01:12:11] Gate.

[01:12:11] It's like turn based strategy or you can do like real time strategy kind of shit.

[01:12:15] But in, in Dragon Age 2, it's just hack and slash with like no combos.

[01:12:21] It's just tap a over and over and over or whatever.

[01:12:24] The skill trees aren't that bad.

[01:12:26] But again, they're very fucking watered down compared to Origins where you can evolve

[01:12:30] a mage into like five or six different kinds of like there's different, like trees or fuck.

[01:12:39] Sorry.

[01:12:39] Five different skill trees for like different kinds of magic.

[01:12:42] Like there's just, there's what earth, there's like wind and lightning, there's fire and

[01:12:47] ice, there's shadow, there's blood magic, all this shit.

[01:12:49] Yeah.

[01:12:50] And two is just like you're a mage and that's it.

[01:12:53] Cast a fireball, bro.

[01:12:55] That's it.

[01:12:56] Or when you're a thief, it's just like you just have two daggers and you just attack over

[01:13:00] and over and like that's it.

[01:13:01] You just have more crits.

[01:13:02] It's just, I mean, I think I only played it because it was on Game Pass or not Game Pass,

[01:13:09] Games with Gold and I wanted some pretty easy achievements.

[01:13:12] Didn't really enjoy my time with it.

[01:13:14] I'm pretty sure it's on Game Pass though.

[01:13:15] Yeah.

[01:13:16] Cause it's on like EA.

[01:13:17] Cause the EA Play.

[01:13:18] Yeah.

[01:13:18] EA Play.

[01:13:19] That's what it's called.

[01:13:19] I almost said EA Plus.

[01:13:21] It's close enough.

[01:13:22] Yeah.

[01:13:23] So it, so with Dragon Age 2, from what I remember, like Dragon Age 2, it came out like right when

[01:13:29] like Mass Effect was really taking off.

[01:13:32] It was one of the first major games right after the EA buyout.

[01:13:35] Cause it's, it's, it's kind of the one where most people are like, this is where EA really

[01:13:38] kind of started meddling.

[01:13:41] Yeah.

[01:13:41] Cause, cause Origins was published by EA, but Origins is, you know, what it is.

[01:13:45] And then like two, yeah, I was like EA meddling.

[01:13:48] And also that was like right after Mass Effect 2 and like Mass Effect was such a big thing

[01:13:52] at the time still is now.

[01:13:54] And so like I had people describe Dragon Age 2 to me as like Dragon Age trying to be Mass Effect,

[01:14:00] but like completely missing the mark because that's not why people liked Origins.

[01:14:04] You know, like Origins is a much different thing.

[01:14:07] And with Inquisition, wasn't it they tried to go back a little bit, but they didn't go back

[01:14:12] like enough kind of a thing?

[01:14:15] Pretty much.

[01:14:16] Like Inquisition was still, it was, it was good, but it wasn't as great as Origins was.

[01:14:23] There's still a lot that they definitely could have improved on, but yeah, it was, it was better

[01:14:27] than two for sure.

[01:14:29] You guys know Dragon Age Inquisition was the first game of the year winner at the Game Awards?

[01:14:36] Really?

[01:14:37] Yeah.

[01:14:38] 2013, it was the very first one.

[01:14:40] And it's like, nobody talks about this game anymore.

[01:14:43] Yeah.

[01:14:44] So we're getting a lot of fucking praise back in the day, but.

[01:14:47] Oh yeah.

[01:14:48] I had friends who fucking loved it when it was like brand new.

[01:14:54] Yeah, it was, but.

[01:14:57] But yeah, it just like, yeah, it didn't, it didn't stick, I guess, because the same year Dragon Age Inquisition,

[01:15:03] one game of the year, its competition was Bayonetta 2, Dark Souls 2, Hearthstone and Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor.

[01:15:10] I'm pretty sure those are better games.

[01:15:13] Literally any, literally all of those games, I would have been, there are better choices.

[01:15:16] And I'm not even a Hearthstone guy, but I wouldn't have been mad at it.

[01:15:20] Yeah, even like Bayonetta 2, arguably probably should have won that, but.

[01:15:24] Yeah, yeah.

[01:15:25] Like even Middle or Shadow of Mordor, like that game's aged pretty well.

[01:15:29] That game's still fun as shit to play, man.

[01:15:31] It is cool.

[01:15:31] Just jumping off of towers and stabbing dudes in the face.

[01:15:34] Yeah, but that intro is in, oh, what a crazy intro that game has.

[01:15:38] It's awesome.

[01:15:39] You guys got any more or was that it for you?

[01:15:41] Um, I got another one I can add.

[01:15:44] Cause it kind of actually.

[01:15:44] I have two more.

[01:15:46] Okay, I have one, I have one more.

[01:15:48] Okay.

[01:15:48] Well, this one kind of tracks with, uh, Aaron's last pick, but, uh, speaking of Bioware, uh, Mass Effect Andromeda.

[01:15:57] Yes.

[01:15:58] Yes.

[01:15:58] With the wonky, the wonky walking.

[01:16:00] Oh, Andromeda.

[01:16:01] Literally like that, the first, they, they frankly patched most of it, but my God, that

[01:16:05] first month of playing that game, like the entire time I was playing, I was like, what's

[01:16:08] wrong with your face?

[01:16:10] Oh yeah.

[01:16:11] Facial animations and like the wonky, like weird, like the bottom half of your body.

[01:16:17] Very, very like, you know, it's, I understand what happened because EA at one point randomly

[01:16:23] was just like doing EA things and was like every game that's made by our studios must use the

[01:16:30] Frostbite engine going forward.

[01:16:32] It was peak Frostbite engine era.

[01:16:35] Yeah.

[01:16:35] Which to be fair, the Frostbite engine is a great engine for first person shooters.

[01:16:40] Yeah.

[01:16:40] Like they were even trying to get Madden on Frostbite.

[01:16:43] And like, that was an era where like Madden was like really broken.

[01:16:47] Yeah.

[01:16:47] You know, cause I'm trying to get on the fucking Frostbite engine.

[01:16:50] Um, so I'll give Bioware credit.

[01:16:54] The fact that they got it.

[01:16:56] Well, a, this wasn't even the main Bioware.

[01:16:57] This was like a different subset of Bioware at the time, apparently.

[01:17:02] Um, but yeah, it, yeah, it was not, uh, the Edmonton team that did the original mass effects.

[01:17:07] It was Bioware Montreal.

[01:17:09] I think I swear to God, which is the home of the B studio, apparently.

[01:17:13] Except for Ubisoft for some reason.

[01:17:16] Yeah.

[01:17:16] Yeah.

[01:17:17] But like Warner brothers, Montreal who did Arkham origins, you know, that was the beat.

[01:17:21] Yeah.

[01:17:22] Um, but yeah, this game, like I'll give them credit.

[01:17:25] They managed to, they had to redesign the freaking Frostbite engine to make a third person game.

[01:17:30] And I will say the gun, the gunplay is phenomenal.

[01:17:35] Like it is like arguably the best playing mass effect game in terms of like combat, but like everything connected to it is just so mediocre.

[01:17:43] Like this, the story is just uninteresting.

[01:17:46] I kind of liked the whole idea that the, like both versions of writer appear in the story.

[01:17:51] They made them like siblings.

[01:17:52] I think it was, um, yeah, like twins or something like that, which I'm like, that's cool.

[01:17:58] At least like they're both there, but, um, yeah, the story is just kind of unremarkable.

[01:18:03] The worlds are kind of dull and boring.

[01:18:05] The, the, the graphics are jank and like all over the place.

[01:18:09] It's just not a fun game.

[01:18:10] It's like, it's very disappointing, especially cause it was like super hyped up after three.

[01:18:16] They were like, Oh, we're going to a new universe.

[01:18:18] It's going to be the Andromeda universe now completely separate from the original series.

[01:18:22] Yeah.

[01:18:23] Cause I, cause I believe Andromeda is referenced in three, like in like the, the lore or whatever

[01:18:28] they talk about.

[01:18:29] Like, they're like, look, in case we get wiped out by the Reapers, we're going to send like

[01:18:33] a bunch of people to Andromeda to try to keep the human race going.

[01:18:35] And Andromeda follows them, which is like an interesting concept.

[01:18:38] But I think the issue with Andromeda was like mass effects one through three was such

[01:18:42] a heavy story.

[01:18:43] Oh yeah.

[01:18:44] Then Andromeda is much lighter in tone and it just kind of clashed with everything.

[01:18:48] But you can also tell the writing is not as good.

[01:18:51] Oh yeah.

[01:18:52] Cause like game as the other ones.

[01:18:54] Cause mass effect one through three, the writing is incredible.

[01:18:56] Yeah.

[01:18:56] The most of the way through the rider twins are just not as not interesting.

[01:19:00] Uh, protagonists at all.

[01:19:02] Like shepherd had like shepherd was both like he was a cardboard box that you would mold,

[01:19:08] but he also had personality at times.

[01:19:10] Yeah.

[01:19:11] Yeah.

[01:19:11] Shepard somehow walks that fine line of being the like avatar for the player character,

[01:19:16] but also being its own character as well.

[01:19:18] Yeah.

[01:19:19] Cause you can make him like hit with the dialogue choices.

[01:19:22] You could like make him like the character you wanted him to be.

[01:19:25] So you could make him either be like a fucking asshole or like this,

[01:19:28] like smug, like sarcastic douche.

[01:19:31] Yeah.

[01:19:32] Punching the reporter.

[01:19:33] Yeah.

[01:19:34] Oh, I always, I always punched her.

[01:19:36] You always shoot Ashley.

[01:19:40] Space racist.

[01:19:42] Space bitch.

[01:19:43] I love, I love her character where she's like, yeah, I've seen all this other like Cosmos

[01:19:47] stuff and basically proof that God isn't real, but I still believe in him.

[01:19:52] So of course, what the fuck dude?

[01:19:54] I mean, she is the space racist, but to be fair, like every race in that game is racist.

[01:20:00] Like, yeah.

[01:20:01] Oh yeah.

[01:20:01] At the start.

[01:20:03] For sure.

[01:20:03] For sure.

[01:20:04] There's a lot of conflict with the species.

[01:20:06] She does.

[01:20:07] It's just, Ashley's kind of like funny when that, and yeah, yeah.

[01:20:10] Like my playthrough of it.

[01:20:11] I actually kept her going.

[01:20:12] Cause I thought she was the more interesting.

[01:20:14] Like I kept her.

[01:20:14] Like Caden.

[01:20:15] Caden's the other guy.

[01:20:17] Um, he's interesting in three, but no one kept him around for three.

[01:20:20] Yeah.

[01:20:20] Well, cause I think, I think Bioware kind of assumed everyone would keep Ashley so that

[01:20:25] when they kept Caden, they're like, oh, we actually have to do something with this guy.

[01:20:29] Cause Ashley has the more defined personality of the two.

[01:20:31] Yeah.

[01:20:32] And yeah, and yeah, her, her story arc is actually like pretty interesting.

[01:20:35] Like it has a pretty good conclusion in three.

[01:20:37] I think the thing with Ashley is later, I'm not racist anymore.

[01:20:40] Wow.

[01:20:41] She goes through, she actually goes through.

[01:20:44] She does actually go through development over the course of the series.

[01:20:48] Like if you actually follow her story, but a lot of people didn't.

[01:20:51] So that's kind of why.

[01:20:53] Yeah.

[01:20:53] Like, like people do challenge her on her beliefs and all that stuff, you know?

[01:20:57] Well, yeah.

[01:20:58] And by the end, she's like, she's basically a part of the crew at that point.

[01:21:02] If her, her portrayal in two is still questionable, but granted Cadence is as well.

[01:21:08] Yeah.

[01:21:08] Though I feel like neither one of those characters were a focal point in two.

[01:21:13] You know, they felt very much in the background.

[01:21:15] Well, they, they're not playable and they just kind of, they appear on that one cut scene

[01:21:19] where they just get pissy and go away.

[01:21:22] Yeah.

[01:21:23] Two was all about the elusive man.

[01:21:25] Well, cause it's funny because if you romanced Ashley in one and you go to two, her photo

[01:21:31] will just be sitting on Shepard's desk the entire game.

[01:21:34] But if you, if you cheat on her, he just knocks the frame over.

[01:21:37] I'm telling you.

[01:21:39] It's just like, wow.

[01:21:40] Tips it down.

[01:21:41] Like, like, like you're pegging Garrus and then it just kind of gets thrown away in

[01:21:45] that.

[01:21:47] Fuck yeah.

[01:21:48] Who wouldn't?

[01:21:48] Garrus is great.

[01:21:49] He's a cool guy.

[01:21:50] Yeah.

[01:21:52] Yeah.

[01:21:52] But anyway, Andromeda.

[01:21:53] Yeah.

[01:21:54] Andromeda.

[01:21:55] See, there's nothing to say about Andromeda cause it's just so unremarkable compared to

[01:21:58] the original trilogy.

[01:21:59] I need to sit, I need to sit down and like play through it like properly.

[01:22:03] Cause I've played all the other mass effects and I love them to death.

[01:22:05] So I just need to see the deal with Andromeda.

[01:22:08] It's on game pass.

[01:22:10] I have a physical over here.

[01:22:11] I, I, I found it sealed for like five bucks.

[01:22:14] I pre-ordered that bitch.

[01:22:16] I was so disappointed.

[01:22:18] Like it's an interesting concept, you know, like following the Andromeda team.

[01:22:22] So, but it was just so poorly executed that we'll never see what happens next.

[01:22:26] Well, they are working on another mass effect.

[01:22:28] So we'll see what they do.

[01:22:31] Speaking of disappointment.

[01:22:32] Wait, no, it was, is it?

[01:22:34] No, it's Thrak's turn, right?

[01:22:36] Or is it mine?

[01:22:36] No, it's Thrak's turn.

[01:22:38] Okay.

[01:22:38] Speaking of disappointments.

[01:22:39] Okay.

[01:22:40] So, so this one is, um, more of a recent pick.

[01:22:44] Like actually, I think I played and beat this game this year.

[01:22:46] Finally.

[01:22:47] Um, and yeah, like compared to the other games in the series, like again, it's not a bad

[01:22:52] game, but it doesn't really hold up.

[01:22:55] And that's a no more heroes three.

[01:22:58] Oh, like, like one is such a unique game.

[01:23:03] You know, like it, it has an age of the best, but it has a lot of charm to it that it's

[01:23:08] still worth playing to this day.

[01:23:10] And no more heroes two is fucking awesome.

[01:23:12] Like it fixes all the little issues.

[01:23:14] No more heroes one has.

[01:23:16] And it's like probably the most mechanically sound suda game.

[01:23:19] Oh yeah.

[01:23:20] Like all of them.

[01:23:21] Cause suda is known for his like wacky ideas and crazy aesthetics, but like his games aren't

[01:23:26] always mechanically the most solid thing in the world, but they can make up for it.

[01:23:30] Right.

[01:23:30] Like killer seven makes up for it.

[01:23:32] Lollipop chainsaw makes up for it.

[01:23:33] You know, shadows of the damned does not make up for it.

[01:23:36] Um, that's a very average game, but no more heroes two is like kind of the best of both

[01:23:42] worlds where the, the combat is so much better.

[01:23:45] Um, but they keep all of the charm with Travis and all the other characters.

[01:23:48] And they get rid of the fricking open world.

[01:23:50] That was useless.

[01:23:51] Yeah.

[01:23:51] It's just a menu.

[01:23:52] And like, and even the side jobs into are great.

[01:23:55] Yeah.

[01:23:55] No more.

[01:23:55] It was like bullshit.

[01:23:57] I was just fill.

[01:23:58] I was just pumping gas the whole time.

[01:24:00] Cause it was the easiest way to make a shit ton of money.

[01:24:02] Just pump.

[01:24:04] Mowing the lawn is fun.

[01:24:06] Kind of.

[01:24:06] It was fun the first time, but then you realize the fucking.

[01:24:09] Yeah.

[01:24:09] They got to do it like a million times.

[01:24:11] Yeah.

[01:24:11] Yeah.

[01:24:11] And then, but like pumping the gas was the easiest one to do.

[01:24:14] So, but anyways, no more heroes three.

[01:24:16] Like it gets announced.

[01:24:17] It's a big deal.

[01:24:18] I'm hype as hell for it.

[01:24:20] Right.

[01:24:20] Um, I get it for switch, but I don't play it until I get it for Xbox.

[01:24:25] Cause I think I got it on a download on game pass to play through it.

[01:24:28] Um, and yeah, it's, it feels like Suda listened to the fans a little too much.

[01:24:34] You know what I mean?

[01:24:35] Yeah.

[01:24:36] Like it brought back the open world, but like tenfold.

[01:24:39] So it's like this giant ass open world where you have to constantly travel

[01:24:42] through all these different sections, which it did not need to do at all.

[01:24:46] It brings back the side jobs, but you don't have to grind on them as much.

[01:24:51] And basically it's just like, Oh, just mow a couple lawns here and there and then

[01:24:54] you're fine.

[01:24:55] You know, it tries to keep the focus on the combat and the combat is okay.

[01:25:01] Like in some ways it's better than the other ones, but it doesn't have the charm of like

[01:25:04] the Wii, you know, swinging the Wiimote or if you're playing the remasters.

[01:25:09] Yeah.

[01:25:10] Which is always great.

[01:25:12] Or, um, or say in like the, the remasters on switch where you used like the right stick

[01:25:15] or whatever.

[01:25:16] Um, here it's just more kind of like, Oh, light attack, heavy attack, but it's not as

[01:25:21] mechanically in depth as I, as compared to some of the other games, I think.

[01:25:25] Um, and, and the boss battles are fine, but they're not as memorable.

[01:25:29] You know, you're not, you know, fighting a baseball guy in the stadia.

[01:25:32] Nothing will ever be destroy man.

[01:25:34] Destroy man.

[01:25:34] Destroy man is incredible.

[01:25:36] And like the, the, the history you have with him.

[01:25:38] He appears in three actually.

[01:25:39] Um, um, but yeah, like no more heroes three.

[01:25:42] It's fine, but it just didn't really hit as well as it should have, I think.

[01:25:48] And so for it to be sort of the end of the series is a little disappointing, but I mean,

[01:25:54] Suda has teased doing another no more heroes.

[01:25:56] Of course he has, um, no more heroes.

[01:25:59] One still has the greatest save screen ever.

[01:26:01] That is a pretty good.

[01:26:02] Is that where you're taking a shit?

[01:26:04] Just Travis taking a shit.

[01:26:05] To be fair.

[01:26:06] That's all of them.

[01:26:07] Like one, two and three, all of them are just you taking a dump and, and three kind

[01:26:10] of messes with that a little bit, which is cool.

[01:26:13] But, um, like three has some cool things about it, but yeah, like don't play it on

[01:26:18] switch.

[01:26:18] It doesn't, it doesn't perform very well on switch.

[01:26:20] So play it on anywhere else.

[01:26:22] It's a game that you can tell it's struggling to kind of run on that system.

[01:26:25] So if you, if you have a PS five or an Xbox, just, just play it on that.

[01:26:30] You're better.

[01:26:31] Yeah.

[01:26:32] I'm happy it happened, but I get it.

[01:26:35] Yeah.

[01:26:36] Same.

[01:26:36] And then that lollipop chainsaw remaster is not good.

[01:26:39] Not good at all.

[01:26:41] Speaking of, of not good.

[01:26:42] I've got another not good three.

[01:26:44] Uh, it's my kind of last one that's popped in my head.

[01:26:47] Actually, um, borderlands three.

[01:26:49] Holy shit.

[01:26:50] So I've never, I've never touched the borderlands.

[01:26:53] Oh man.

[01:26:54] Okay.

[01:26:54] So borderland ones or borderlands one.

[01:26:59] Jesus Christ is, uh, it's fine.

[01:27:02] It's totally fine.

[01:27:03] Back in the day, there was only borderlands out.

[01:27:05] It was fine.

[01:27:06] It's pretty good.

[01:27:07] Then you get to two, the two is still the best one in the whole fucking series.

[01:27:10] Like the best, the best classes, the best skill trees, the best story, the best, uh, main

[01:27:16] villain, best everything, man.

[01:27:18] Introduction of clap trap.

[01:27:20] Holy shit.

[01:27:20] Even like, like the pre sequel, which was supposed to take place.

[01:27:23] Uh, it was supposed to take place before two.

[01:27:27] And like after one, it was all right.

[01:27:30] Like it wasn't as good as two, but it was all right.

[01:27:33] But then you get to three and we waited so fucking long for three.

[01:27:37] And, uh, it's just, it's just one of those cases where it's like, dude, two is just so

[01:27:41] good.

[01:27:41] There's no possible way to top, to top that.

[01:27:44] And of course, yeah.

[01:27:45] Seven years.

[01:27:46] Yeah, man.

[01:27:47] That three was just like the classes were cool on paper, but they didn't play really all

[01:27:55] that well.

[01:27:55] It was just kind of the same shit, but like re-skinned almost.

[01:27:59] Cause like there was the one class where I forget what the name of it was, but he had

[01:28:04] like, um, a little like robo turret thing that he could send out.

[01:28:08] And it was basically just like the, the hunter from the first game or just had like a fucking

[01:28:13] Eagle that swooped down and attacked people or even like the fucking commando where you

[01:28:17] just throw out a turret.

[01:28:18] It's basically just like the same shit, but kind of re-skinned.

[01:28:21] Um, the main villains weren't very interesting.

[01:28:23] They're just like two fucking streamer punks that are annoying and fucking stupid and nothing

[01:28:28] will ever fucking top a handsome Jack.

[01:28:31] He's just snarky and snarky and rude and fucking arrogant.

[01:28:36] And yeah, everything about three was just like, it played well.

[01:28:40] It looked, it looked great.

[01:28:42] Just wasn't interesting.

[01:28:44] It wasn't interesting at all.

[01:28:46] Such, such a bummer, man.

[01:28:48] It was one of those, like, it had been seven years since the last one that maybe you were

[01:28:52] just hoping that it would be a lot more than what it ended up being.

[01:28:56] Yeah.

[01:28:56] Cause like even, even after three, they came out with, um, uh, I forget what the name of

[01:29:02] it was.

[01:29:03] Like it was a tiny Tina spinoff kind of thing.

[01:29:05] Yeah.

[01:29:05] Tiny Tina's wonderlands, which I heard very mixed opinions on that one.

[01:29:10] Kind of, um, I think a similar situation to kind of be like Sly four, like it's a fine

[01:29:16] game, but like it just took so long to come out.

[01:29:19] And by the time it did, it was kind of like, it's, it's a good game, but it's not the sucker

[01:29:25] punch classics by any means.

[01:29:27] Well, at least with Sly four, it was a completely different dev.

[01:29:30] So I think people were going in with like tempered expectations.

[01:29:33] Cause it was what sans rude games.

[01:29:34] They did a great job for what.

[01:29:36] Oh yeah.

[01:29:38] But yeah.

[01:29:38] Cause cause they had handled the, um, what was it?

[01:29:41] The, the PS three ports of H and there, and those are very good way to play those games.

[01:29:47] So that's when Sony's like, all right, you can make a fourth one.

[01:29:50] And, and like the idea of like with Sly four, I mean, we could throw it in here if you want.

[01:29:55] Like the idea of it being like, you go through time to find all the different members of the

[01:30:00] Sly family.

[01:30:01] Like it's a great concept, but you can tell like sans Ruber not really up for the task.

[01:30:06] Yeah.

[01:30:06] Like a sucker punch where like sucker punch doing this game probably would have been awesome.

[01:30:10] I don't really want to put it on the list just cause I don't think it's a bad sequel.

[01:30:14] It's just, um, it just wasn't sucker punches.

[01:30:17] Same level of quality.

[01:30:19] Yeah.

[01:30:20] My last one.

[01:30:21] I'm going to, I'm going to lightning round this one out.

[01:30:23] Bubsy 3d.

[01:30:25] Yeah.

[01:30:25] I mean, if we're going to say another one, like Jack and Daxter lost frontier.

[01:30:29] Fuck that game.

[01:30:32] Sonic 06.

[01:30:34] There we go.

[01:30:34] No, that game's a masterpiece.

[01:30:35] What are you guys talking about?

[01:30:37] Sonic 06.

[01:30:38] No, fuck that game.

[01:30:39] Uh, Banjo Kazooie Banjo Kazooie nuts and bolts.

[01:30:42] That's another one I had.

[01:30:44] Oh, that's, that's such a weird one because if it wasn't a Banjo Kazooie game, it'd be

[01:30:49] fucking awesome.

[01:30:50] See, I always say like, I love any game that lets me make fucking abominations that you can

[01:30:54] drive around.

[01:30:55] It's just like, I wanted another Banjo platformer.

[01:30:59] And I think if this game didn't have the car shit, it would actually be pretty good,

[01:31:03] but it just gets way too much into the car stuff for me.

[01:31:06] So, you know, uh, I was looking on all the lists just for some like, uh, inspiration.

[01:31:12] You know, the one game I saw on every list that I was like, I get why it's there, but

[01:31:16] I don't agree.

[01:31:17] What?

[01:31:18] Duke Nukem forever.

[01:31:19] It's not, it's not a good game, but as a sequel to Duke Nukem 3d, it's absolutely

[01:31:23] perfect.

[01:31:25] It is.

[01:31:26] It is exactly what, what they promised.

[01:31:28] True.

[01:31:29] Yeah.

[01:31:29] There's a, Oh, Tony Hawk's Per Skater 5.

[01:31:31] Oh yeah.

[01:31:32] That, that, that game is the game was broken as fuck.

[01:31:35] That game is unplayable.

[01:31:36] Like literally you can't play it anymore.

[01:31:39] Yeah.

[01:31:39] Uh, Bomberman X zero darkness.

[01:31:43] Yeah.

[01:31:44] Um, spiral for, uh, well the original spiral for, uh, and then the dragonfly.

[01:31:49] Yeah.

[01:31:49] Uh, for some reason I see crackdown three.

[01:31:51] I'm like, that's not a bad game.

[01:31:53] If anything, crackdown two would have been in like the shitty one of the series.

[01:31:57] Yeah.

[01:31:57] Yeah.

[01:31:58] People shit on crackdown three.

[01:31:59] I don't get why.

[01:32:00] I think it was just like a timing thing when that game came out.

[01:32:03] Probably.

[01:32:03] People want a little bit more, but, uh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Castlevania.

[01:32:11] Um, Castlevania, Castlevania Lords of shadow too.

[01:32:15] That one was pretty cool.

[01:32:17] I've heard some people prefer that one over the first one.

[01:32:20] So I don't know.

[01:32:21] Yeah.

[01:32:21] I saw like dead space three and I'm like that space three isn't, it's not that

[01:32:25] bad.

[01:32:26] It's not as bad as double may cry too.

[01:32:29] Yeah.

[01:32:29] Sim city 2013 was pretty bad.

[01:32:31] That was, yeah, that was disappointing.

[01:32:33] Yeah.

[01:32:35] Um, let's see.

[01:32:36] Just a second.

[01:32:37] No, but for some reason I saw a lot of call of duty, modern warfare three, but

[01:32:41] like the old, like the original modern warfare three.

[01:32:44] I thought that was fine.

[01:32:45] And that's like, it is the weakest of the trilogy.

[01:32:48] Sure.

[01:32:48] But it's not terrible.

[01:32:50] Like it was still in the peak era of call of duty.

[01:32:52] Like to me, once we had black ops two, that's when things start going.

[01:32:56] Yeah.

[01:32:56] Like black ops 27 black ops six.

[01:32:59] I don't know.

[01:33:01] Yeah.

[01:33:02] I'm curious to that game's campaign.

[01:33:04] Cause they're really putting an emphasis on it for the first time in a long

[01:33:07] time, but I got to play through all the other ones first.

[01:33:10] Yeah.

[01:33:12] That is it for me though.

[01:33:13] What about, what about you guys?

[01:33:17] Oh, that's yeah.

[01:33:18] About it.

[01:33:18] Yeah.

[01:33:19] I mean, we could probably find more, but we'll be here all night.

[01:33:23] Like every Sonic game after adventure to like just ever according to fan base.

[01:33:28] Cause they, except for generations.

[01:33:30] God damn it.

[01:33:30] Generations was good.

[01:33:31] Generations is great.

[01:33:32] Colors is great.

[01:33:33] Yeah.

[01:33:35] Perfect.

[01:33:35] Perfect.

[01:33:36] Dark zero.

[01:33:37] That's a bad sequel.

[01:33:38] Well, that's a prequel actually, but still fuck it.

[01:33:40] Yeah.

[01:33:58] And that's actually what got me to play that game.

[01:34:01] Cause I was like, Oh, that's really cool.

[01:34:02] And I fell in love with those games and played thousands of hours in both.

[01:34:06] Oh yeah.

[01:35:43] Cause they lost so much money on endless shrimp.

[01:35:45] Yeah.

[01:35:45] Cause they thought that would save them.

[01:35:47] Um, but they've been like bought by like an equity firm.
