Ep. 114 - Pack-In Games That Packed a Punch (ft. Leathco)
Download MP3[00:00:00] Oh, I'm forgetting the most important part of a podcast right now. What the fuck?
[00:00:05] What? I forgot my beer!
[00:00:08] Oh, grab a grab a guy and roll for him. Damn.
[00:00:13] I'm drinking expensive tonight with the generic Mountain Dew.
[00:00:18] Oh my, my explosion. I love the generic names.
[00:00:23] I don't know why the generic names are always much more fun than the actual name brand stuff.
[00:00:28] Like Dr. Pepper, like Dr. Thunder, or like Dr. Fever, something?
[00:00:32] I didn't feel like driving a town this week so I just got half-ass groceries in the dollar store.
[00:00:38] It's like I could drive the town but nah.
[00:00:42] Sometimes that's plenty man. I feel like the dollar store is always have more snacks,
[00:00:46] like more interesting snacks, like they have better candy for sure.
[00:00:51] Right. Oh, every time I go Walmart, I spend like a minimum of 100 bucks.
[00:00:57] In snacks? No, just in everything.
[00:01:01] Dude, within a walk by it's like, oh, I like that t-shirt, I'll grab it.
[00:01:06] Walk through all the motives. Oh, yeah, my car could be snow change. Let's get the oil filter rolling here.
[00:01:12] I could use the sweet, daffy duck steering wheel cover.
[00:01:17] Yes. Oh, man.
[00:01:19] I do that all the time too, man. Like if we're, don't even bring me near the sweets aisle.
[00:01:24] Like where they have the little debbies in check because they'll have like those strawberry short cake rolls.
[00:01:29] And I'll be like, oh, God, we need to go now before I make horrible decisions.
[00:01:33] See, I'm like, I'm the opposite though. Like I, I, I, I'm constantly ripping Karen because Karen's like,
[00:01:39] okay, we're going to eat healthy now and then we go down like one of those aisles and I'm like,
[00:01:42] we don't need to go down here and she's like, you know what? The cats and like their school.
[00:01:47] I'm like, we have one kid in school and she fucking doesn't eat anything. She doesn't need any of this.
[00:01:53] She's like, well, let's just get 15 packs of fucking half moons and maybe four packs of fucking goldfish.
[00:02:00] What's a half moon? Like a Joe Louis, but like half of it.
[00:02:04] What the fuck's the Joe Louis? What? What? I don't know what any of that.
[00:02:08] We're, I don't, we don't, that's no must be a Canada thing. What to do, listen,
[00:02:19] or somebody in Missouri to quote Gandhi, move bitch, get out the way.
[00:02:23] And my name is Jerry and I am legally allowed to pet your dog.
[00:02:26] And this is super pod saga.
[00:02:39] Literally a lot.
[00:02:41] All right, let's try listening. I say, welcome back. Thank you for, for listening once more.
[00:02:46] This is super pod saga. I'm going to lower my chair a little bit. There we go.
[00:02:50] Yes, indeed, this is super pod saga. The podcast rejected that attitude too.
[00:02:55] Okay, lower that ass.
[00:02:59] The podcast or Jerry and I discussed a different video game topic each week with different guests.
[00:03:04] Hang out, have fun. Talk video games and video game accessories and the like.
[00:03:09] What would you do that? We've got a guest with us today. A brand new face on super pod saga.
[00:03:14] Leethco, hello. Yo, I am left co from the Apple Globog.
[00:03:18] We have tens of listeners could you possibly guess in the 20s? Let's find out.
[00:03:24] Let's do it. I'm certainly hoping so, man.
[00:03:28] For me, if listeners have never heard your show before, go ahead and pop your show in there.
[00:03:32] Tell us a little about your sound, your podcast where they can find it.
[00:03:36] And how about your favorite snack cake? Your favorite little Debbie or whatever.
[00:03:40] Whatever brands that they might have in like say Canada for Jerry's turn.
[00:03:45] Well, as far as my show, I usually cover one game per episode. It can go anywhere 15 minutes,
[00:03:51] two hours depending on if I'm by myself. Use with me.
[00:03:56] Go over mostly my memories of the game and now go a little bit into the game.
[00:04:00] But there's a crap ton of other shows that do the better job reviews in myself.
[00:04:05] So I usually focus on my memories of the game. I describe the show as back whenever you got
[00:04:10] on like eBay and you bought a new cartridge video game you got in.
[00:04:15] It had the rental stickers and everything on it. You kind of wonder what's the story behind
[00:04:18] that sticker? That's why I kind of think my show does.
[00:04:23] That's cool. As far as snack tapes, the peanut butter wafer bars are awesome.
[00:04:28] Oh, like the what are they called? It's like nutty buddy or something like that.
[00:04:33] Yeah, nutter butter maybe. We don't have peanut butter in Canada.
[00:04:38] That's a why.
[00:04:42] You get four me once. God help you.
[00:04:46] Four me twice. God damn you again.
[00:04:51] Yeah, what's where people find your show. I'm going to play your socials.
[00:04:54] I don't really do much as far as social media. Most of my stuff is through your major podcasts.
[00:05:00] Like a Spotify Apple podcasts Amazon music.
[00:05:05] Just the usual podcast places where you go to search for your podcasts.
[00:05:09] Some I'm pretty well all of them. Nice man. As far as socials.
[00:05:13] So see close to seeing I have is a discord. Would you find in the show notes page?
[00:05:19] Right on, man. Yeah, and I'll have a link to all that stuff.
[00:05:22] And yeah, we're going to your podcast description. Friend of the show secret levels. I've never met the dudes.
[00:05:29] I'm up in their server. This is pretty cool.
[00:05:34] Those two are hilarious. They put on great show. I can't recommend them enough.
[00:05:39] We were supposed that Jerry and I were supposed to be in their retro Olympics. We both had stuff
[00:05:44] come up like Jerry playing for the wrong day. And then I don't it was the wrong day. And then my back was like,
[00:05:51] yes, what mother fucker. I'm going to break.
[00:05:57] Hopefully they can get you next time because I was looking forward to competing against you all.
[00:06:01] Oh my gosh. Yeah, we just had a retro trivia game show for for other show that we do together.
[00:06:08] Retro rehab. It was pretty fun. Yeah, my big fan of trivia. I guess I realized how little I know about retro games.
[00:06:17] Like I'm a huge enthusiast of Mega Man games and like I was embarrassed. Like by some
[00:06:27] of the questions that were asked about Mega Man, then I was just like fuck them. No dude.
[00:06:31] That is actually an ongoing thing for the retro Olympics whenever I compete now.
[00:06:37] For listeners, my discord avatar and everything is all Mega Man. Whenever I go into the voice
[00:06:43] of the Mega Man teleporting sounds comes in. If I miss a Mega Man, I have to change everything.
[00:06:50] You can add a cool like entrance sound to when you jump into a discord call or something. Yeah.
[00:06:56] What the fuck? Yeah, going to your settings on there should be an option in their port if you do
[00:07:02] the nitro stuff. Yeah, this is true. That is true. Sorry, my 12 year old wanted to know how to
[00:07:10] harvest perforated these days. I don't think so. No, they're still just like the bag and you have to
[00:07:16] tear them open or you have to get the center of a pizza roll. Just one son and then you
[00:07:23] probably didn't hold speed and pop it in holes. Jerry, what are we talking about today? Poppin holes, man.
[00:07:30] That's all we do all day long. We're just popping those holes. What are you doing? No, we're going to
[00:07:39] games that launched with a console or had a console that eventually down the line had some sort of
[00:07:46] a pack and like hey, you buy the console. You also get this game and it's like maybe a special
[00:07:52] addition of the console too. There is so many different ones. I immediately like three just popped
[00:08:00] my head. Now I'm sticking with them. They're not they're not the all-time best but there are ones
[00:08:04] that I think are the other go-toes for today. Yeah, before we get to that, for listeners if you
[00:08:11] love the show please give us a rating or review whatever you're listening to us on please. I beg
[00:08:17] of you all, I'll wash your car. Please do it. If you really really love the show, co-check us out
[00:08:22] on SuperPyDone work.com. All the other things we do. Listen to retro rehab and Super Ghost Radio
[00:08:27] and all that stuff. And if you really really love the show, maybe go subscribe to us on Patreon
[00:08:32] for $204 a month because there's lots of cool bonus content and you're really access to
[00:08:38] me in episodes and all that stuff. Enough of that, let's go on with that. Dang it. Yeah,
[00:09:07] let's go first. Do you want to go first, let's go? If you want I do have some unique fixing
[00:09:13] here about might save one and for later. I will start off with the suspect for the Sega Genesis.
[00:09:19] It was a later cartridge that came out for it. By the included six different games that were all
[00:09:27] early hits in the Sega Genesis, you had the original Saka Hedgehog, Streets of Rage, Golden Man's
[00:09:35] columns, Super Hang-On, like just heavy hitters. It really stores the end of the Genesis but
[00:09:43] it was really cool back in the day. If you got a Genesis kind of late in the game and you immediately
[00:09:49] started out with like six must-have some recollection. Oh yeah. Just live in an amazing pickup as
[00:09:56] a kid. Like I got my copy, like in a bargain bin, like used and even whenever I got him,
[00:10:04] I'm really crap. I'll be crying out of the song here, you know? Because a six fantastic early
[00:10:09] Sega Genesis. Yeah, that's true. Just getting Streets of Rage and Sonic was like, that's enough.
[00:10:16] There. I mean, you could die happy after that. In college, which was like if it didn't
[00:10:22] leave fucking replayable, one of the coolest Sega exclusive puzzle games man, it's such a good idea.
[00:10:29] I was just thought that columns were like poor man's Tetris. No, no, it's different. It's good.
[00:10:34] I forgot to mention the six games, which was revenge of Shinobi, which on there is.
[00:10:38] Oh yeah, I was Shinobi's good shit. Just a ridiculous collection. Like you could get that
[00:10:46] part with your Genesis and you'd be set. I like let alone have the rest of them.
[00:10:52] I like that they call it the six pack dude. Like, hey man, want to get it, want to come over tonight
[00:10:56] and grab a six pack and play the six pack? Like, mom can I get a six pack please? Oh,
[00:11:02] she's a tricker to buy you alcohol. Okay, son, here you go. She gives you like some pb yard.
[00:11:08] Can I have a Sega six pack? We got six pack at home looking is just like some drunk dad with like a
[00:11:13] stack of bloodlides. Unfortunately, after the little dedicated to seemingly six pack I ever had.
[00:11:24] All right. Yeah, you're fuck you in your metabolism.
[00:11:29] You know, it's genetics man. I'm trying.
[00:11:33] And ahead of hair while we're at it. Yeah, God damn it. I'm sorry. You're design.
[00:11:44] Damn you here. Superior genetics.
[00:11:47] Shit, I don't know about superior. God damn my teeth are like bucket fragile.
[00:11:55] Touched and they just all started crack like sun-baked porcelain.
[00:12:02] My first game by the way. We'll go at Metroid Prime. This for the Sega Genesis.
[00:12:10] Yeah, the Sega Genesis. Holy shit. Yeah, I got Metroid Prime with my game cube,
[00:12:17] which I got for like my original game cube that I got as a kid way, way back in the day
[00:12:22] for one of my birthdays I forget. There was the black game cube. He came with the black
[00:12:26] controller but no memory card, which is still weird remember when like games required you to have
[00:12:32] memory card to save but the consoles or games didn't come with a memory card. That's still
[00:12:38] weird but whatever. So, if I could any progress I made, we would either have to like reset
[00:12:45] at the following day or just leave the game cube on and Metroid Prime isn't a short game.
[00:12:51] I mean it's short. I guess by today's standards but like well I mean it's got replayability though
[00:12:58] like if you want to like 100% it I would say that that's a really good pack in though because
[00:13:05] it'll keep you busy. It's not like you're gonna finish it in a day. I would also say it's not short
[00:13:10] if you don't know what you're doing and where you're going and no one goes in knowing the game. No,
[00:13:15] that's the first time playing that game like you're like I don't know like me the first time
[00:13:20] playing it you're just super sucked into this world and you're just scanning every little thing
[00:13:24] and just taking in all the environments and stuff. Yeah I wouldn't say it's a short game. I actually
[00:13:29] think that's a brilliant pack in for the game cube and it's cool how like so it's up until this
[00:13:36] point you get to a super Metroid and it's like okay now where the fuck do they go with the series
[00:13:42] as far as like 2D Metroid goes and of course did it fusion but like uh but with Metroid Prime
[00:13:47] it's just insane that they took this 2D like gigantic world and just and it somehow made it into
[00:13:55] a fucking first person game with basically like like a living breathing uh not a technology
[00:14:04] environment like this environment of like different creatures do when they're daily little bullshit
[00:14:09] activity will not daily but yeah creatures wondering around a confession to make though but Metroid Prime.
[00:14:15] Yes the first time I seen Metroid Prime I was like this is not my Metroid. I'm never going
[00:14:23] like instantly I was like hmm this is not for me and it wasn't until my friend was like
[00:14:29] fuck this and he brought his game cube to my house because it was the most portable console at
[00:14:35] the time that was the portable console like handheld yeah yeah had a fucking handle for Christ's sake
[00:14:42] so he just walked over to my house with fucking all his cables and shit and hooked it up
[00:14:47] was like you're playing this now and that day was the day that I was like yeah I gotta get a fucking
[00:14:53] game cube this is crazy and I also that day was like oh maybe I don't hate win wager
[00:15:00] both of those games I was like nope not having it it's too different.
[00:15:04] I'm also gonna make confession when I first when I first played Metroid I guess Metroid Prime
[00:15:11] is my first Metroid and I had no idea there were other Metroid's leading up to that so when I
[00:15:17] heard that there were ones on the super Nintendo and shit I was like no that's not Metroid
[00:15:21] oh wow that's on the game cube is Metroid what's that you're heard my soul right now
[00:15:29] oh shit see I guess this came cube and had an Xbox so I didn't play a Prime game until
[00:15:35] Prime 3 and that was my own choice of Prime series which was really different because you
[00:15:41] and then check and the we most you're having to do all the things what not yeah do the
[00:15:47] the YMCA it's stuff just so she can't have a shit. I liked the mechanic of like having like
[00:15:54] throw your grapple beam I thought that was the so I played Prime 3 is it good?
[00:16:01] oh it's fantastic I love it I should play them but um yeah I didn't play one or two until
[00:16:06] after three so I experienced the story totally backwards. You were like reverse you're like I'm
[00:16:13] gonna make a my life's mission to experience the story and reverse so you went 3 2 1 I'm gonna
[00:16:18] pretend I want to it was even worse 3 1 2 yeah I went 3 1 2 with it almost like double make
[00:16:27] I dude 3 1 4 2 so close my when I when I when Metroid Prime 2 came out and there was that weird
[00:16:37] multiplayer in it my my cousins and I played the fuck out of that it was it wasn't the best multiplayer
[00:16:43] then an Nintendo game or a game cube game for that matter but it was fun to goof around on and like
[00:16:50] think they had multiplayer only weapons that you could use like homey missiles I think if I'm just
[00:16:56] thought yes isn't it weird how like the Nintendo games like made by Nintendo to me this is my opinion
[00:17:06] they don't typically have the best crafted multiplayer because they focus on the core game
[00:17:13] whereas like when you think of a lot of games these days that are like so focused on a multiplayer
[00:17:19] that they just lose the rest of the fucking game like I mean look at the Call of Duty's that come out
[00:17:23] those campaigns have been asked for so long and then like they're like be up with that
[00:17:29] fucking multiplayer though you're gonna get in there on that multiplayer but I always found that
[00:17:33] Nintendo has always been like yeah we'll give you a really good core solid like like the core of
[00:17:39] the game but the multiplayer is just kind of thrown in there let me in I can see that for a lot of
[00:17:46] yeah yeah yeah I suppose so maybe like I guess yeah because with uh with Starley Fox it was
[00:17:53] kind of happened like um the only two that I can think of off the top of my head that are
[00:17:58] actually good or Mario Kart and smash those are made for multiplayer but that's yeah
[00:18:06] saying like yeah but also ties into their online that work too because their online
[00:18:10] that works seems to be a few steps behind everyone else as well
[00:18:14] yeah Nintendo's just gonna do it baby yeah yeah yeah we make only way to make what Aaron
[00:18:23] the only way to make their their online ship work like when I played smash ultimate online for
[00:18:28] a little while there the only way to make it bearable was to have that um that land adapter the
[00:18:33] USB land adapter but you shouldn't have to buy an adapter for the online to work that's crazy
[00:18:39] yeah that's crazy why today standards um what today standards why would say you shouldn't
[00:18:46] have to use yourself on the post chat yeah that that's also in the fact that it was only added
[00:18:51] like two years ago ish like it wasn't even that long ago they added that they were like
[00:18:56] guess what gamers here we go just in 10 weeks yeah coming to the Nintendo Switch
[00:19:05] there's stupid little direct voice the USB land adapter but it's a little fucking direct dude
[00:19:14] it has Bluetooth in the headphone jack right there
[00:19:20] it's almost like it's just like paying 700 dollars for a whole less console with no
[00:19:25] disk drive what's up with that I'm throwing shit on the PS5 Pro I didn't get a pro but I got the
[00:19:34] diskless PS5 without was like 500 though I saved I saved 100 bucks that price worked so well
[00:19:41] for the 3DO and the DOGO I see the thing too recently how they were like well you think the
[00:19:50] PS5 Pro is expensive this fucking CDI was like a thousand dollars what launched yeah it was like
[00:20:00] the fucking spoon controller thing the CDI was like way more expensive by today standards that it was
[00:20:08] just a gigantic fucking turn to yeah it didn't last though my uh my immediate thought when I think
[00:20:19] of best video game packing is always super Mario World on the super Nintendo but the more I
[00:20:27] thought about it I was like that is and I might be looking at it with roast into glasses because
[00:20:32] that was literally the first console I ever got so technically it was the first like console
[00:20:38] game I ever had too and I mean pretty fucking I like you win the lottery when you're when you're
[00:20:45] kid and your super Nintendo is your first console with super Mario World but then the more I thought
[00:20:51] about it I was like but is it the best it's really fucking good but is it the best like does it show
[00:20:57] case everything maybe but not as much as we sports did on them fucking Wii God damn dude that's
[00:21:04] the Wii Ultimate pack in Wii Sports it like conceptually it's like this is just kind of like a
[00:21:11] demo disc right but then you realize like every single time I showed somebody the Wii even when
[00:21:17] I had like Twilight Princess and I had a bunch of other games for the Wii the immediate thing to
[00:21:24] show them was always Wii sports and the Wii just came with it until wasn't there like one Wii
[00:21:32] that didn't wasn't it like it might have even been about right one that was exclusive to Canada
[00:21:37] it was like a digital only Wii yeah the Wii mini or something yeah but other than that like I'm
[00:21:46] pretty sure every other Wii even when there was like other packings with the Wii I'm pretty sure
[00:21:51] it still came with Wii Sports whether it was like already installed just like on the system or
[00:21:58] whatever but Wii Sports to me was like the definitive way to showcase what the Wii is
[00:22:04] like you can sit down grandma I'm gonna get you to hold this fucking dildo one and I just want
[00:22:11] you to start swinging grandma I'm gonna whip your fucking old crusty ass in some Wii bowl and
[00:22:19] but then the second game is that bring back memories dude do you guys remember getting
[00:22:26] clapped up by Matt was that the one the one like dark complexion me that would just annihilate
[00:22:33] you in boxing yes that was Matt and he was a son of a bitch he is like you're like rockin out
[00:22:41] you be like man this this game is shit it's just some little like demo thing and then you get to
[00:22:45] that the final boss of Wii we sports is all in all awesome talk it's been okay bosses number one
[00:22:55] man you see that motherfucker end of the ring you you may as well just start clapping your own
[00:23:05] cheeks don't you be the one the towel fuck that game gives you like on limit like you get unlimited
[00:23:14] fucking playtime on that game like I must have played Wii bowling up into the 300 hours
[00:23:20] back when I played with my cousins all the goddamn time I'd go over there only for Wii Sports
[00:23:26] mostly Wii bowling and it's bash bros and that's oh we played on this fucking Wii
[00:23:32] yep it was good and man the music the music is like do do do do do do do yeah
[00:23:40] I actually know people who bought a Wii with Wii Sports and never got another game for it
[00:23:47] yeah you almost have the OGs look what this is all I need this is all I need truck
[00:23:54] that wasn't a terrible thing no what not I know many grandparents who actually got the system
[00:24:01] and never got another game that's just like that's just like um all the old people who got an
[00:24:07] Xbox 360 just for Netflix and Peggle fucking Peggle dude I worked for for Xbox customer service for a
[00:24:17] little bit and yeah there were a lot of old people that would call in with account issues because
[00:24:23] you need those when you need to have gold for for Netflix and they'd be like oh I only use it for
[00:24:27] necklace Netflix and Peggle well all right you could just buy a bucket you heard it like
[00:24:37] Netflix of Peggle dude they would be too pedgle and you're like what's your what yeah I was just
[00:24:45] gonna say wish a favorite level in Peggle uh fucking Beatrice and she's like wait I'm not
[00:24:49] a Paggle I just want this fucking strap on and give it to fucking Jarvis tonight we get two episodes
[00:24:59] in the new office and then while here we go I'm Medicaid don't cover Paggan
[00:25:05] hey can take the whole thing now
[00:25:11] poor Jarvis
[00:25:13] two bad in that you have a feeling when it takes batteries took a pack of quarters or something
[00:25:21] the weak motion was the sensation I ever had
[00:25:27] I don't even need you ever send it more.
[00:25:31] Oh, no.
[00:25:32] But police transition us out of this.
[00:25:37] No, we're staying in it for a second.
[00:25:40] Let's go live here.
[00:25:42] I just want to live in a police like,
[00:25:45] It's so thick and disgusting and not right,
[00:25:49] but like, right, it's right, but it's wrong with right.
[00:25:53] It's like filthy enough.
[00:25:55] Come here, Joe.
[00:25:56] I was forced to have Vailvee all over my nipples.
[00:26:01] I hope you bought the name, brain, this time, but nothing generic.
[00:26:05] Oh, baby, baby.
[00:26:06] That generic stuff breaks me out.
[00:26:08] Why don't you run down the street and go get Jeremiah?
[00:26:11] I'm gonna have to be more fun.
[00:26:13] You may be left so hard by camera, frozen.
[00:26:16] That's true.
[00:26:19] Fuck it.
[00:26:20] I'm taking a fucking street shot of this shit.
[00:26:22] Do it.
[00:26:25] What would you have for us next, let's go?
[00:26:28] I'm on a curfew ball with this one because it's not exactly a console.
[00:26:33] I'm going to throw up celluletary for Microsoft Windows.
[00:26:37] Oh, shit.
[00:26:38] Okay.
[00:26:38] No, like, I didn't even consider that shit.
[00:26:41] I did.
[00:26:42] Fuck.
[00:26:43] So it has been with Windows since version 3.11.
[00:26:48] So that's right.
[00:26:50] That was, yeah, pretty well,
[00:26:52] and I'm gonna have to be a good one.
[00:26:53] So that's what it is.
[00:26:53] So that's what it is.
[00:26:53] But the thing is, it's just a little bit weird.
[00:26:54] But it has been with Windows the entire time all the way up to
[00:26:57] Windows 11 where celluletary is still a free download from the Microsoft Store.
[00:27:03] I would claim that none of us would know how to play solitaire if we weren't for the fact
[00:27:08] that we were sitting in middle school grade school board and computer lab, and there is one
[00:27:13] game and that system and a solitaire.
[00:27:17] Do the way that the cards, the cascading cards when used to win?
[00:27:23] Oh my god.
[00:27:24] That was like insanely satisfying.
[00:27:27] In fact, that Microsoft has packed that in every version of Windows just is insane to me.
[00:27:33] It makes it right a long-estrunning pack and game bike can come up with.
[00:27:37] That's a really good one.
[00:27:39] That's a really solid curve ball.
[00:27:41] Do you not never would have expected that?
[00:27:44] Oh, you're a fucking bitch right now, dude.
[00:27:47] For the less than I think you're going to turn it off.
[00:27:50] Now turn it back on.
[00:27:57] This is why we need to start recording video, man.
[00:28:01] Just so we can pop up a shame for all your technical difficulties.
[00:28:07] Fuck, I don't know.
[00:28:08] Maybe it's beautiful.
[00:28:10] Maybe it's my USB hub, dude.
[00:28:12] I am little hub with like eight extra USB ports on X.
[00:28:16] My laptop doesn't have a whole lot, maybe it's not.
[00:28:18] Don't be plugging in no hubs, man.
[00:28:20] Plug you into a hub.
[00:28:24] Are we going back to the pegging again?
[00:28:27] Don't shit.
[00:28:28] Yeah, that's my pegging.
[00:28:29] I want to plug me into the hub, Jeff.
[00:28:36] Remember, I got a little bit of spit on my monitor, Holy Shit.
[00:28:42] That's the real reason you turn the camera off because you just been spitting on it.
[00:28:47] Yeah, just like I do to Jarvis with the pegging hub.
[00:28:51] Anyway, I think it was just a little bit of a mess.
[00:28:53] I'm getting you liver and onions, Jeff.
[00:28:55] It was shit.
[00:28:59] Didn't, uh, it solved your happily six different modes with it too on some versions like spider solitaire and like, oh yeah.
[00:29:07] I can't think of me.
[00:29:08] There's like waterfall solitaire.
[00:29:09] That was the DLC.
[00:29:13] And it's for read for eDLC.
[00:29:16] What's crazy is that other games have come and gone for too.
[00:29:19] Like mine sweeper has not been included with all of them.
[00:29:22] I thought it was.
[00:29:23] So never went back.
[00:29:24] No, so it's here hasn't mine sweeper hasn't.
[00:29:27] My favorite is still space could that pinball.
[00:29:30] But that was only with like one or two versions I think were a solitaire again.
[00:29:34] It's been with them since the beginning of that.
[00:29:38] Oh, yeah.
[00:29:38] Oh, here's a good one.
[00:29:40] It's not it's not one of my picks.
[00:29:42] But here's like a really stupid one.
[00:29:45] Remember when you got you.
[00:29:47] So you get your brand new, uh, Nokia flip phone right?
[00:29:51] And then comes a snake.
[00:29:52] That shit was pretty cool.
[00:29:54] That was tight.
[00:29:55] Yeah, that was awesome.
[00:29:57] Actually have a game you can play on the go.
[00:29:59] It had a battery life better than, you know, an hour.
[00:30:03] The fucking game gear which took like six batteries and lasted.
[00:30:08] But half an hour or whatever.
[00:30:10] He turned it on that starts humming.
[00:30:12] It's like what?
[00:30:14] Oh, my shit.
[00:30:15] And you're like, like, hold that thing like directly in front of your face or else like if you had any kind of angle on the screen,
[00:30:20] you couldn't see shit.
[00:30:22] Oh, God.
[00:30:23] Watched out looking.
[00:30:25] Thank God for IPS panels dude.
[00:30:27] I got for the Game Boy.
[00:30:29] That's what you meant to say.
[00:30:31] Yeah, nothing against game.
[00:30:32] There's good games.
[00:30:33] You're a good thing.
[00:30:34] But thing up for peace.
[00:30:36] Yeah, give me that piece of everyday.
[00:30:38] Slowly drinking the contrast higher and higher is your battery start to go.
[00:30:44] I'm going to get every last ounce of juice out of these batteries just like how much profits by next game of split two.
[00:31:01] Oh, it's easy.
[00:31:02] Let's see what's going on over.
[00:31:08] Oh, fuck man.
[00:31:09] Put two in all of them up.
[00:31:15] Oh, fuck man.
[00:31:17] Oh, grab my cross stitch and wipe it off, please.
[00:31:20] Oh, it's gross.
[00:31:22] Go grab the quilt.
[00:31:23] I've been working on for 35 years.
[00:31:27] But don't wipe it off with a grandchild face.
[00:31:29] That's not good.
[00:31:31] This gravity tire grandchild of my baby face.
[00:31:35] Oh, man. Okay. So my soul is called the family quilt.
[00:31:42] Oh, shit.
[00:31:44] Oh, my um, my roommates.
[00:31:47] This split two in bundle.
[00:31:49] Rebonded split two in Wii U bundle.
[00:31:52] And he also grabbed a copy of Smash Bros in Mario Kart and one other game that I forget.
[00:31:59] But watching someone play Splatoon for the first time.
[00:32:02] First of all, not having any idea at all what the flux Splatoon even is or run supposed to be watching.
[00:32:08] I'm playing that game.
[00:32:09] I was like, do this actually looks like it fucks real hard and it did.
[00:32:12] It was just this third person shooter.
[00:32:15] Fucks out of the javas.
[00:32:17] No, you have the other way around.
[00:32:19] He's the one that's getting fucked.
[00:32:21] What's on your time?
[00:32:22] Learn your packing.
[00:32:23] Anywhere.
[00:32:24] You can cook.
[00:32:25] It's that make him a third person shooter.
[00:32:27] Oh.
[00:32:30] Poor Jarvis.
[00:32:32] First, he's wanted to retire and piece third person.
[00:32:35] You just took the chair over there.
[00:32:39] Dude, if I could make it like a thrones.
[00:32:45] Cool couple.
[00:32:46] How do you work with company over?
[00:32:48] Go get the good cook, Jarrow.
[00:32:52] The one with the pillows on it.
[00:32:55] The regular one is just one of those like really weird like,
[00:33:00] trifold lawn chairs.
[00:33:02] I think the one is this like lazy boy with us got plugin USB and shit.
[00:33:10] Lube on demand.
[00:33:12] Oh, yes, it's got little power.
[00:33:14] It's got like, like, like,
[00:33:16] like, like, doctor's so smooth like rub, rub,
[00:33:22] hands with the white gloves and shit.
[00:33:23] That's like, you'll lube master.
[00:33:26] The streets that I have at Spinger.
[00:33:30] I was just doing this.
[00:33:33] I'm just going to do it.
[00:33:34] So holy shit up there.
[00:33:35] Third person shooter.
[00:33:37] You go around the map.
[00:33:38] Basically you'd claim turf by by inking everywhere.
[00:33:40] Much like Jarvis would and you cover as much of the map as you can.
[00:33:45] Jerry's dead.
[00:33:46] I'm still here.
[00:33:48] Jerry, you're in a fucking wall and died.
[00:33:52] Dude, go on.
[00:33:59] Yeah, so each team has a different color and you just,
[00:34:03] you just, you have different weapons.
[00:34:06] You can choose from that shoot ink in different patterns and in different ways.
[00:34:11] I guess because I can get little squirt guns or like a sniper rifle kind of thing
[00:34:16] or like a paint roller brush.
[00:34:19] And yeah, you just cover as much turf as you can.
[00:34:22] And then eventually time is up.
[00:34:24] I think it's the rounds are like maybe three or four minutes.
[00:34:29] I think maybe even five.
[00:34:30] Once times up they'll tell you how much turf each side has.
[00:34:34] Then whoever of course has the most wins and then there's.
[00:34:37] I think there's other game modes.
[00:34:39] If I remember right, you can take out members of the opposing team by painting them
[00:34:43] and then you're some of the respond back.
[00:34:46] Yep, exactly.
[00:34:47] And it gives you more time to to cover more turf and yeah,
[00:34:52] if you have like a good, a good amount of teamwork.
[00:34:55] Yeah, you constantly taking them out, sending them back to home,
[00:34:58] making them go through that respond timer again and just taking more and more of their turf
[00:35:02] and just steam rolling them, dude it's so fun.
[00:35:06] I played way more of Splatoon 2 than I did the first game.
[00:35:10] And I got really into 2.
[00:35:11] Like I had a really sick setup and some really cool weapon loadouts and ship.
[00:35:16] But those those games are way underrated man.
[00:35:19] But leave it to the Nintendo to come up with a shooter game that is very non violent.
[00:35:26] Yeah, okay.
[00:35:27] I get some blasts.
[00:35:28] I loved it.
[00:35:30] I didn't play the first one but the second one on the Switch I played it on those.
[00:35:34] Yeah, yeah, they added so many cool new weapons.
[00:35:38] The hub area is always really, really cool to just look around and explore
[00:35:42] and see what kind of cool shit they have.
[00:35:44] The characters they have just populating the the hub moral,
[00:35:48] like whether it's who's the guy that sells you food.
[00:35:52] It's like crazy Ron or something.
[00:35:54] Yeah, beetle.
[00:35:55] Well I think it's like a whole deep Ron or some like that.
[00:36:00] And then there's the other like player characters that chill there in the hub area and whatever messages they've drawn on their like
[00:36:06] Wii U gamepad or on the Switch.
[00:36:08] A little show up there.
[00:36:10] Remember the mevers?
[00:36:12] Yes.
[00:36:12] Alright.
[00:36:13] Alright.
[00:36:13] Alright.
[00:36:13] I was always some crazy shit on the mevers man.
[00:36:17] Dude, I used the fuck out of mevers.
[00:36:19] That was so fun.
[00:36:20] Listeners, I wrote a I wrote a blog about the Wii U on our website.
[00:36:23] Go check it out.
[00:36:24] I talked about mevers a little bit and there's one time I was I think I was playing out of Dragon Quest 7 or 8
[00:36:32] and I was like dude, with a fuck do I go and I posted it in mevers and I immediately got an answer
[00:36:38] and this cool to have people like there all the time to help you figure out where to go
[00:36:43] or help you out and give you hints and tips and shit.
[00:36:45] Like see internet.
[00:36:47] I mean yeah, but it's not mevers.
[00:36:50] My next one is none other.
[00:36:55] No.
[00:36:57] Not, not P.
[00:36:59] P S 5.
[00:37:01] That P.
[00:37:02] The P S 5 comes with Astros Playroom and I don't know if there's another game that showcases a console
[00:37:14] as good as that other than Wii Sports.
[00:37:18] So this was like the theme that I was running in my head is like what showcases a console so good
[00:37:22] that it's like, it's almost like mandatory playing to play before you actually get into anything
[00:37:30] and Astro was like that because it was like hey, this new controller that does a whole bunch of crazy shit.
[00:37:36] Well, this game is basically going to do everything that this controller can possibly do
[00:37:41] but implement it into the gameplay in really cool and thoughtful ways.
[00:37:49] Like it takes use of like the adaptive triggers.
[00:37:53] So like if you hold down the triggers sometimes they're harder to push down,
[00:37:58] sometimes they have a click at the end, sometimes they're like vibrate and rumble.
[00:38:02] There's a whole bunch of things that the triggers will do and then even just like the haptics on the controller itself
[00:38:06] like walking across grass and dirt and metal like has a different feel.
[00:38:11] And you could almost like close your eyes and like feel what surface you're on and know what it is without actually looking at the screen.
[00:38:20] It was wild and like not a lot of other games on PS5 have taken full advantage of the controller like Astro did until well recently when I played Astrobot
[00:38:31] like the full length one that to a full advantage of it again,
[00:38:37] but Astro's play room came with the PS5.
[00:38:39] It was just like there you could just like install it and yeah I honestly think like next to we sports
[00:38:47] it is the best implementation of a game to showcase what the new console can do.
[00:38:53] That's what I've heard from a lot of people I don't own a PS5 but do you know what love Astro?
[00:38:59] Like
[00:39:05] Did I mention I live by a major highway?
[00:39:08] I thought Andrew I thought Aaron was just sounding the fucking alarm.
[00:39:16] You're absolutely right I will like Astro I just want to play station five.
[00:39:22] Remember that time?
[00:39:23] We were recorded that horror games episode of the red fox and like the police.
[00:39:30] It was literally the beginning of Mario Kart.
[00:39:35] Like yeah
[00:39:39] Welcome to Philadelphia.
[00:39:45] Philadelphia Card
[00:39:47] Philadelphia Card
[00:39:49] I don't see no islands.
[00:39:57] Don't feel no island card
[00:39:58] but yeah that game does sound sick.
[00:40:01] One of these days you'll get to play it one of these days and maybe even Final Fantasy XVI
[00:40:07] and maybe it's coming in plus.
[00:40:09] Well actually Bloodborne has been getting some cool updates in terms of like emulation on PC
[00:40:16] and maybe they managed to get it running at 60 frames per second with like HD textur packs
[00:40:21] implemented and it looks fucking wild but you got to go through a few steps to get that thing up and running I think.
[00:40:30] It's happening.
[00:40:31] It is definitely happening.
[00:40:33] It does do that.
[00:40:35] These models are like Sony you fucks if you're not going to do it we will.
[00:40:39] That would be awesome to see C Bloodborne in 4K like 120 FPS do just beef it up as well.
[00:40:46] I'm fucking eyes it can go.
[00:40:46] Have you played Bloodborne?
[00:40:48] Never.
[00:40:50] What?
[00:40:51] I've never owned a PS4.
[00:40:54] My god almighty.
[00:40:56] Maybe you should emulate it.
[00:40:59] My laptop.
[00:41:00] There's no way my laptop.
[00:41:01] Oh yeah, no laptop.
[00:41:04] Let's just go to the go to the website and click on the go find me page where we're trying to collect funds for air into have a
[00:41:17] new computer like that web game will be totally fine.
[00:41:22] Well it depends on the hub you click it into.
[00:41:27] Moving on should we take an outbreak?
[00:41:29] I think so.

[00:45:26] You can download the software updates and firmware updates.
[00:45:29] And who wants their update and ready to go?
[00:45:33] I'm always complaining about that.
[00:45:35] There's not enough flip in my flop, so I tend to crave the flop in the flip.
[00:45:40] So when this sponsor came around and was like, hey, you guys want these electric flip flops
[00:45:46] because we're going out of business and we were like, we'll do it.
[00:45:49] And God damn it.
[00:45:50] I go out on the beach and I'm flipping all over the place.
[00:45:54] And I can't stop.
[00:45:55] Won't stop.
[00:45:56] And I, you can get in the water and you can sail across the sea on your flip flops
[00:46:03] because they just don't stop.
[00:46:05] I'm looking at a pair right now on Amazon.com.
[00:46:08] There's a re-erbit says that whenever you wear some, it makes him forget about the pain
[00:46:11] and his ass and it's like his name's a journalist.
[00:46:15] Charapis.
[00:46:16] Is that real?
[00:46:16] Are you looking at electric flip flops on Amazon?
[00:46:19] Yes.
[00:46:20] What the fuck?
[00:46:21] How do they steal our idea?
[00:46:24] The part where he added in the name Jarvis was a call back to good old Jarvis getting paged
[00:46:31] but now he's getting paged with flip flops.
[00:46:34] He understood the assignment.
[00:46:35] He was sitting in the cuck chair watching with his flip floppy's just fucking going
[00:46:40] at the speed of light.
[00:46:42] They, they don't even need to reach, you don't need to recharge them.
[00:46:46] They're solar powered.
[00:46:47] You know what?
[00:46:49] Where are the solar fails?
[00:46:52] Everywhere.
[00:46:55] There's like little parts on each side.
[00:46:58] It's like on the on the on the on the flip flop.
[00:47:00] There's solar panels on the left side to catch the sun so that you don't run them into the the other
[00:47:04] flip flops on your other foot, so they have, they're solar panels on each side.
[00:47:08] Their gotty is fuck, but hey, solar power also with the new with the new software update.
[00:47:14] We don't even have to walk anymore.
[00:47:15] They've got like, they'll send, they'll, they'll shock your nerves and your muscles
[00:47:21] and it'll make your legs move on their own as if you were walking but you're not.
[00:47:25] It's the flip flops controlling you.
[00:47:27] Oh fuck, now they've not, they're completely autonomous.
[00:47:30] They're taking over the world.
[00:47:32] Everybody's body's their control.
[00:47:33] You just open the door and all you hear is.
[00:47:38] And that's not even the flip flops.
[00:47:39] That's just the sound of Jarvis getting fucking paged.
[00:47:43] Fucking, fucking nailed.
[00:47:47] But of course Aaron, you know how it is.
[00:47:50] We always get the DLC.
[00:47:52] And then DLC, we are the DLC masters.
[00:47:56] So the DLC for these instead of the solar panels,
[00:48:00] the DLC this time stands for Dude likes cooking.
[00:48:05] There's three, yeah count them, three, three millimeter jacks on each side of the thing.
[00:48:12] Six in total, per flip flop.
[00:48:14] And what you do is you hook those up to a hamster wheel on each that are on like their own
[00:48:20] electric flip flop.
[00:48:21] Get those hamsters rolling and you don't even need solar.
[00:48:24] Then just keep the hamsters fed and alive.
[00:48:29] And there's a giant ass 12 volt car battery sitting in the roller skate mind in the store of the hour.
[00:48:37] Yeah, I was gonna say a wagon behind you.
[00:48:41] That's one of those fisher price wagons.
[00:48:45] And you know what?
[00:48:45] There's little syringes like where your foot would go.
[00:48:47] There's little syringes so it's constantly injecting into your bloodstream different like steroids and like electrolytes and vitamins and minerals.
[00:48:56] So you'll never die as long as you're wearing these flip flops you're immortal and you don't ever have to worry about walking ever again
[00:49:03] because they're they're baking you walk on their own.
[00:49:06] They're fucking, it's the Terminator but flip flops.
[00:49:10] It is the future.
[00:49:11] And forget about your clothes, your flip flops and your motorcycle.
[00:49:17] And you'll never have to worry about fashion again like you are covered with this.
[00:49:22] I mean you could you could literally wear these on your hands and on your face.
[00:49:28] You could wear them as ear moths even in that well, I mean it would hurt because they'd just be flat on against your ears all day long but
[00:49:35] you could probably fly.
[00:49:36] It's not tested but you could probably fly with these if you put a lecture flip flop on each one of your limbs and put them on your ears.
[00:49:45] Put them on your shoulders where my shoulder pads you could probably fly.
[00:49:51] How far?
[00:49:52] I don't know but you could probably do it.
[00:49:55] Ooh, ooh, ooh, and there's face plates.
[00:49:58] There's interchangeable face plates that you can put on there.
[00:50:01] I mean you can't really see them because they go on the bottom.
[00:50:05] But you can check, you can have like one sponge Bob and one blue if you want or one mantra man Randy Savage and one
[00:50:13] Dr. Phil.
[00:50:14] Dr. Phil.
[00:50:15] There we go.
[00:50:17] That's a delight.
[00:50:18] Ooh, new licensing agreement.
[00:50:19] We're gonna make so much money off of this.
[00:50:21] Oh, Dr. Phil licensing.
[00:50:24] But you flip flops on, sounds as your mother hate you.
[00:50:28] Now, job is to shoot peg you all the time or just want some more.
[00:50:34] I don't know dude.
[00:50:35] The electric flip flops everybody.
[00:50:37] Thanks a lot, she's flip flops.
[00:50:39] The flop away.
[00:50:42] Spread about, wait some flop away.
[00:50:51] We're, we're, we're clocking back.
[00:50:53] We're clocking back.
[00:50:54] We're clocking back.
[00:50:58] Fucking clocking, clocking, clocking, clocking.
[00:51:03] Fucking clocking.
[00:51:04] Fuck, it's in a fast routine.
[00:51:06] We just don't want to get fucking defraint chicken and cocked.
[00:51:11] That's the live laugh love super pot song.
[00:51:15] Fucking flip flop, clock.
[00:51:19] Flip flop, fuck.
[00:51:22] This chair wasn't the good I don't remember.
[00:51:25] Did, did you go last?
[00:51:27] I think so.
[00:51:28] I think I did split two.
[00:51:29] Yeah, I think it was me like, yeah, yeah, you did split two.
[00:51:32] Let's go.
[00:51:33] The PC engine was huge in Japan.
[00:51:36] Never came over here to the US turbo graphics.
[00:51:39] It didn't take up for a while.
[00:51:42] So any C trades to release the turbo duo, which was the turbo graphics with the CD-AD on
[00:51:48] Doll Bill and the one unit, and it was kind of their last ditch ever.
[00:51:53] So as part of their last ditch ever, they threw everything in the box.
[00:51:57] Right here, there's a bunch of games.
[00:51:59] Play something in here from love a guide.
[00:52:01] So in the box for the turbo duo, you got these looks one and two.
[00:52:06] So it's two games right there.
[00:52:08] Shit.
[00:52:09] You got the four and one supersede, which included Gade of Thunder,
[00:52:14] Monster Venture,
[00:52:15] Box revenge, and Box.
[00:52:18] Shit.
[00:52:19] And then you got another turbo chip that had dungeon explore on it.
[00:52:24] Ooh.
[00:52:25] So that's just like a ridiculous variety of games.
[00:52:29] It was obviously what they were doing at the time.
[00:52:31] They're like, they're God.
[00:52:31] Here's a crap ton of games by it, please.
[00:52:35] But like there are some heavy hitters in that box.
[00:52:39] Yeah, we out.
[00:52:40] Gade of Thunder is a really fucking good schmop.
[00:52:44] That game is so awesome.
[00:52:45] And yeah, soundtrack isn't sane.
[00:52:48] Oh, you got Gade Thunder, which is again, a fantastic shooter.
[00:52:51] The two bunk games, which again, they're really good platformers.
[00:52:55] I'd better have been the key for a joke,
[00:52:57] It's packed in with the original.
[00:52:59] The key for a treat.
[00:53:00] He's courage.
[00:53:01] You get bomber man if you want a good multiplayer game.
[00:53:04] Oh, hell yeah.
[00:53:05] But then for RPG fans, you got ease book one and two and dungeon explorers.
[00:53:10] You're like, they're God.
[00:53:11] That's insane.
[00:53:12] Yeah, ease book one and two also had like rock and soundtrack.
[00:53:17] Yeah, the bump combat was just quick and snappy and addictive.
[00:53:22] And I think it was ease to which brought in the magic system.
[00:53:27] And that was really, really fun to mess around with.
[00:53:30] It took a bit for me to get into it first because at first I saw the combat.
[00:53:35] And my coat got tied light all over again.
[00:53:38] But then when I first got into it,
[00:53:40] I'm here like, okay, wait, this is better.
[00:53:42] You know, the mechanics actually kind of work.
[00:53:45] Oh yeah, you can see it.
[00:53:47] If you were played ease one or two.
[00:53:52] I think I played a little bit of one like a long, long time ago.
[00:53:56] But it didn't stick with me that much probably because of the combat.
[00:54:01] But if you guys are saying that the combat eventually kind of,
[00:54:04] you know, grows on you then maybe I should give it another shot.
[00:54:07] There is a rerelease if you want to check it out.
[00:54:10] It has more or less prettier graphics.
[00:54:13] Was that the oath of Felgonna or something?
[00:54:17] No, I think like hold up and steam real quick.
[00:54:20] I think it's just called ease origins maybe.
[00:54:23] No, ease origins is basically ease zero.
[00:54:28] These Chronicles.
[00:54:29] Yeah, that's it.
[00:54:31] Chronicles.
[00:54:31] I think it's on, you can get it on gog.com for sure.
[00:54:36] I think you can also get it on steam maybe.
[00:54:38] Yeah, I own it on steam.
[00:54:40] Yeah.
[00:54:41] There we go.
[00:54:43] Hell yeah.
[00:54:44] You don't want steam.
[00:54:45] It's usually pretty cheap too.
[00:54:46] Nice.
[00:54:48] Oh God, that was me playing that music.
[00:54:50] I didn't know.
[00:54:51] I was looking forward on steam.
[00:54:52] I thought something else was playing like.
[00:54:55] When you yell out there you go.
[00:54:57] I was like what happened?
[00:54:58] I thought it was what you guys playing the music.
[00:55:01] So anyway, I found it on steam for 15 bucks.
[00:55:04] Yeah, it's like, fuck.
[00:55:05] Yeah, boys.
[00:55:07] Yeah, it's my jam.
[00:55:08] You guys like this one more.
[00:55:09] Like, I don't know what I'm doing.
[00:55:13] That's it.
[00:55:14] You're only good at me.
[00:55:15] Oh, I think let's go.
[00:55:16] I'm going to see you.
[00:55:17] I don't know what's going on here.
[00:55:20] Uh, fantastic soundtrack.
[00:55:21] But yeah, this is available on steam for 15 bucks.
[00:55:24] I'm so glad you brought up the turbo duo for this.
[00:55:28] And anybody else would just gloss right over that series of systems.
[00:55:33] But man, yeah, the turbo duo got a lot of good shit packed in.
[00:55:37] Everybody go play get it under.
[00:55:39] I said it's a fantastic system.
[00:55:41] It's a shame that it wouldn't be the way it did because like I said,
[00:55:45] any sea was just throw on everything at the wall and couldn't get anything to stick over.
[00:55:49] I didn't even think it was a shame.
[00:55:51] This is a shame.
[00:55:52] For my last one here, my last pick that I got.
[00:55:55] I got super Mario 3D land.
[00:55:59] Wait, is this your last pick?
[00:56:01] It's my last pick.
[00:56:03] Doesn't have to be your last pick.
[00:56:04] I've got one more.
[00:56:06] I've only, I only jotted down three.
[00:56:08] Yeah, this will be my third.
[00:56:09] Is it?
[00:56:10] Sure is.
[00:56:11] I picked We Sports and Astrobot.
[00:56:14] Oh, okay.
[00:56:16] I must remember that.
[00:56:17] Remember how I said those ones on this episode?
[00:56:21] I do now, man.
[00:56:25] Yeah, so yeah.
[00:56:28] I just, I started to notice a trend with new Nintendo consoles kind of after and 64.
[00:56:37] And it was like whenever a new console came out,
[00:56:40] I was always so critical of Nintendo consoles.
[00:56:44] And I was like, I don't want that.
[00:56:46] That's, I don't need that.
[00:56:48] So like with the game cube, you know,
[00:56:50] I was overlooking Metroid Prime.
[00:56:53] I was overlooking Windwaker.
[00:56:55] And when we came out at first, like at first I was like,
[00:56:59] that seems kind of dumb,
[00:57:01] but then the more the hype,
[00:57:03] like started to generate about the system
[00:57:05] the more I got high 4-2.
[00:57:08] But the 3DS was another one that I was like,
[00:57:11] I don't, I think that's a fucking gimmick.
[00:57:14] Do not want.
[00:57:16] I actually thought that it was the same way that they
[00:57:20] mismarkered the Wii U that it was like some add-on.
[00:57:24] I thought it was just a like a new version of the DS with some 3D in it.
[00:57:29] I didn't realize it again.
[00:57:30] It was a completely different console,
[00:57:32] better graphics, like different things going on.
[00:57:36] And I remember my wife was babysitting these kids
[00:57:40] and he was playing, this one kid was playing
[00:57:43] Super Mario 3D and I was like,
[00:57:46] what do you plan there?
[00:57:47] He was like, Super Mario 3D and I was like,
[00:57:49] what the fuck are you got there and you get that out of the scene?
[00:57:52] I got him, think it.
[00:57:53] I mean, like game boy bitch.
[00:57:56] So I just started like messing with it.
[00:57:58] And I'm pretty sure like that weekend I went and got a 3DS because
[00:58:02] I was like, oh, I'm missing out on this.
[00:58:04] This is crazy.
[00:58:07] And I still to like the sequel to Super Mario 3D
[00:58:10] Land of Super Mario 3D world.
[00:58:12] And I still think that is like a top 3 Mario game.
[00:58:16] Like it's up there.
[00:58:18] And I think 3D Land was a really good way to introduce
[00:58:22] the actual stereoscopic 3D that the 3DS did.
[00:58:30] And like, not a lot of like,
[00:58:32] do you guys play 3DS with 3D on?
[00:58:34] Yeah, I do.
[00:58:36] Really?
[00:58:37] I'm not barely able to do it.
[00:58:40] But with that game,
[00:58:40] I found it actually helped because there were a lot of like
[00:58:44] the type of platforming that they were getting you to do.
[00:58:47] And it helped to know the depth.
[00:58:51] And yeah, just the 3D was working over time on that game.
[00:58:56] And it was really cool.
[00:58:58] So to go along with my theme,
[00:59:00] it's always for me,
[00:59:01] it's always about like what showcases the console the best.
[00:59:05] Yeah, I used to 3D a lot in Kirby Planet Robobot.
[00:59:12] Because it's really good in that too.
[00:59:13] Yeah, because you would actually go into the background.
[00:59:15] And like if you didn't have the 3D on,
[00:59:18] it was kind of hard to see what the fuck was happening.
[00:59:20] So the 3D would basically just like expand it almost.
[00:59:25] But like without making it stretched out and bigger, whatever.
[00:59:28] But yeah, the Mario 3D Land.
[00:59:30] I haven't actually beaten that, but I've played a pretty decent amount.
[00:59:33] And yeah, it's it's all.
[00:59:35] Go beat that game.
[00:59:37] And I'm gonna get all the like get all the levels 100%
[00:59:40] of it so you can unlock like the secret shit.
[00:59:42] Because it gets fucking difficult dude.
[00:59:46] Like fucking real.
[00:59:49] And shit gets real hard real quick.
[00:59:51] Yeah, they're really smart with how they designed the levels in tandem with the 3D effect though.
[00:59:57] I can't think of any other 3DS game that did that well with the 3D effect.
[01:00:03] Yeah, it's really well done.
[01:00:04] And like that's the thing, like the 3D component of the 3DS
[01:00:09] I thought was actually pretty gimmicky for the most part.
[01:00:12] Yeah, there were a select few games that like when you turned it on,
[01:00:16] it didn't melt your fucking retinas off.
[01:00:18] So like that was one of them.
[01:00:22] Kirby Planet Robo want like Aaron said another really good example of 3D done well.
[01:00:27] The Nest Remakes that had the 3D.
[01:00:29] Oh, also really like you could crank the 3D all the way up on those and you
[01:00:33] like your eyes weren't going cross-eyed like you could just turn it up all the way
[01:00:38] and it just looked fucking fantastic.
[01:00:40] I don't know what black magic they used to get those things to work so good with the 3D but
[01:00:44] they were really, really well.
[01:00:46] So my favorite said did that where the I'm pretty sure it was M3 that did these 3D
[01:00:52] Sega Genesis Remakes on 3DS like they had um, they outrun which would look awesome in 3D.
[01:00:59] Cool too.
[01:01:00] And Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog too.
[01:01:02] Those were fucking awesome.
[01:01:04] Yeah, there was a few that did the 3D well and there was a few that did it
[01:01:08] absolutely fucking real bad like kiddo.
[01:01:11] Yeah, I'm realizing or whatever the fuck that game was.
[01:01:16] Jesus Christ.
[01:01:17] If you have that fucking special stand holy shit.
[01:01:20] Oh my god dude the 3D was real bad in that like you.
[01:01:28] Like there was a couple of games that like I would want the 3D like I would be like
[01:01:32] I really want to really want to get 3D going and pushmo here and then I'd like
[01:01:36] turn it up and I'm like that's too much.
[01:01:39] I can't I need to like unfocused my eyes like I'm looking at one of those like magic
[01:01:43] fucking pictures that you've got to like see the 3D and then like you slide it down
[01:01:48] in the middle and I'm like still kind of weird looking and then you slide it
[01:01:53] all the way down until it clicked like off just just above that off the way so that you
[01:01:58] get like just a just a little bit of 3D and then as you're playing it
[01:02:03] and then it's kind of like blurry then you just go why the fuck am I doing this and then
[01:02:07] you just turn it off see I'm like the 3D effect that they did in the N64 reports
[01:02:13] like Starbot 64 and Operina of Time.
[01:02:16] I like them but like they weren't really they didn't push it as hard in game as Mario
[01:02:22] 3D and Lance could that was actually designed for it.
[01:02:25] Yeah, like Mario 3D land is literally the one game that comes in mind that I'm like
[01:02:30] oh that game is like perfect for the 3D because it's done really well and thoughtfully.
[01:02:36] Dan, Dan, Dan, No I'm saying no I'm saying yeah yeah so speaking of
[01:02:42] Nome's my last one is a timefall timefall everybody so another roommate story so my
[01:02:50] one of my old roommates and a very good buddy of mine Jared he's been on the show
[01:02:54] really in times he goes by distorted rules he does not exist on the internet really but yeah
[01:03:00] he got to the this is my real life only exactly yeah dude so he got the the
[01:03:06] Titanfall Xbox one bundle and I saw him this is before I had an Xbox one myself I saw him playing
[01:03:13] that and I was like dude that's fucking sick because you had all the wall running and you had all the
[01:03:19] cool the course the mex suits the cool like abilities and weapons that you could use in game
[01:03:27] and the cool grappling hook ship so by eventually went and bought the bundle myself and dude yeah
[01:03:34] we must have put me Jared our old roommate map and a couple other of us must have put so many
[01:03:40] fucking hours into that game we played that shit non stop and it was the cool the cool
[01:03:46] kind of card yeah I had a card system they're called like burn cards and they give you different perks
[01:03:52] sending it was like extra money after the battle or something stupid I forget
[01:03:57] yeah have either you dudes ever played the first Titanfall before
[01:04:02] I just a little bit it was one of those games I got at the very end whenever they were like
[01:04:08] five bucks or so it was fun like me and the buddy really enjoyed the multiplayer
[01:04:14] it was awesome man like I made like the I would always make a cool cool build and give
[01:04:22] like a really stupid name like I had a stealthy class named lawnmower dog I had a class just for like
[01:04:28] really heavy machine guns and I called it like babies for dinner or something stupid
[01:04:34] and yeah my roommates just we were five men in with the fuck was the death match mode called
[01:04:40] it was a tritian I think then you know we were just steam roll enemies it was awesome
[01:04:47] it was a time dude he had to be there was a time I want to say I haven't my steam library
[01:04:51] but I'm scared to open steam right now after our experience with these
[01:04:58] the first Titanfall I'm sure it the online's got to be dead by now I would assume it came
[01:05:05] on like 20 yeah that's all I know Titanfall too is still going oh yeah maybe that's what
[01:05:14] I think yeah I think they shut down Titanfall one but I think Titanfall two might be still going
[01:05:19] yeah I think I'm not on that I don't want me on that I won't I said don't quote me on
[01:05:25] that don't worry I won't want to let's go how many more do you have dude
[01:05:32] um technically four by can cut it down the one let's do I've got one last one
[01:05:40] that popped into my brain like a tumor popped into me that's pretty cool yeah
[01:05:46] two words of your business viewers this is polyps so
[01:05:55] speaking of polyps my uh I guess final pick I'll be making I'll go with Tetris
[01:06:02] for the Game Boy God damn wrong with that just because like that's up there
[01:06:08] with least sports for the Wii in my opinion as something it's just locked in
[01:06:12] with the console came out on everyone had Tetris and they were the Game Boy
[01:06:17] came out like what else are you gonna play that launched on the Game Boy at the same
[01:06:20] time you had Malay way not known to play all the way the closest competitor you had
[01:06:27] was Mario land and um it played like the worst Mario brothers not saying it was a bad game
[01:06:35] but if you're gone compare that Game of Tetris there's no comparison
[01:06:41] yeah I remember a lot of uh I'm pretty sure a lot of old people those are
[01:06:45] old person game where they bought a Game Boy dressed up first
[01:06:50] I mean not like like old back then like uh maybe 60 year olds back then
[01:06:57] who bought a Game Boy just for Tetris because I mean it's it's a nice relaxing game
[01:07:01] stacks and blocks watch them disappear maybe go back to the bedroom for a
[01:07:06] game I don't know man yeah how's she learning to make that 4-way in
[01:07:12] combo yeah the Tetris is a damn good one man definitely you're replayable
[01:07:22] it's probably only game I would want to have on a car ride man like I'm going to tell
[01:07:27] you something right now there's a there's a fucking bingo game on Game Boy
[01:07:32] I can't remember what it's called I think it might just literally be called
[01:07:34] bingo with an exclamation mark and my mom bought it for her because she was
[01:07:40] like oh bingo and I was like yeah go ahead man get bingo I guess for the
[01:07:45] Game Boy that I own and she got it and she was like it's okay I remember
[01:07:52] that game having such good fucking music that I used to pause the game and
[01:07:57] just hold the Game Boy up to my ear and be like yeah fuck yeah fuck
[01:08:01] it big deal yeah and I I need to find this fucking game soundtrack or something
[01:08:09] because like good god almighty dude it was so good if you want another
[01:08:15] great game boy or a game boy color soundtrack I think it was like
[01:08:20] what it was some feel it's the cat game oh yeah yeah that was good
[01:08:24] so my last game that kind of popped into my mind not kind of like
[01:08:29] kind of like solitaire wasn't like packed anyway I guess it was just
[01:08:33] came with a street pass me Plaza on the 3DS dude this shit is so cool
[01:08:39] first off street pass is just the coolest fucking idea for a handheld
[01:08:43] because like the 3DS I mean maybe later models got maybe two big
[01:08:50] years of the 3DS or just perfectly sized to your pocket you
[01:08:56] turn on put in a sleep mode by closing it put in your pocket walk by
[01:09:00] somebody if they have street pass turned on you would get a little green light
[01:09:03] and it'd be like oh I have a new friend and you mean in the street pass me
[01:09:08] Plaza and you can play cool games with them like there was there's a little
[01:09:12] cart building in racing one one of my favorite games in there I think it was
[01:09:16] called rescue me and it was like I think it was your your me we trapped in a
[01:09:22] cage and all the different from that yeah just like Jarvis look at
[01:09:30] Jarvis up in a fucking cage with fish nets on to his heart dancing to fucking
[01:09:38] blue blue oh the that but he died fuck yeah dude he's awesome and he was probably
[01:09:46] like already like 68 by the time that came out he owns a local organic
[01:09:52] coffee shop so shut up the bones coffee 20% of super pot song yeah so you're
[01:10:05] being a cage dancing on your 55 or whatever yeah 55 I don't know the
[01:10:12] fuck the number is five finger I've been a cool collab no anyway that's
[01:10:23] be the cool yeah so me me pass street pass I don't know rescue me I think it's
[01:10:29] what it's called yeah so all the means that you've met the street pass
[01:10:33] they would line up and you basically go in like these little turn based battles
[01:10:36] against enemies and I think you'd go up each floor fight enemies in like
[01:10:42] turn based battles and eventually get to the last boss and free your
[01:10:45] me from the cage then it just starts all over so whatever yeah that was
[01:10:51] ridiculous like fun I remember by getting excited whenever I got up to
[01:10:55] street pass I said wait to get a bit further in the RPG on there
[01:11:03] for some reason you said rescue me all like a big of a
[01:11:07] little fucking den is a leery show and then I'm like on pictureing is like
[01:11:10] some shitily made me they look like den is a leery up at the cage just
[01:11:16] smoke and cigarettes being like hey come on let me the fuck out of here
[01:11:23] and it was check the chat for that fucking bangarass bingo song real quick
[01:11:28] I didn't this leery looks like his face is made out of really old clay
[01:11:33] and it was put in a microwave melted for like 30 seconds just read
[01:11:38] Dennis leery presents panel action bingo I like I need to watch your reaction
[01:11:43] to this fucking bingo game soundtrack because it is some wild shit and Aaron
[01:11:48] for fucks sake you got to put this in the show notes or something because like
[01:11:52] it has no right to go this fucking hard it really doesn't have any right
[01:11:58] how am I doing like a boss battle theme or some shit that's good it's awesome
[01:12:03] much like Jarvis himself when he's in the dungeon I don't know I'm out of
[01:12:07] Jarvis jokes do you need to pour Jarvis alone he's been fucked enough already
[01:12:10] it is awesome this bottle rest there's a low room down in the ground dude let
[01:12:17] him be like he's on like a like a play stage like he's on those like
[01:12:25] the wires I was more so talking about like a casket
[01:12:32] let him rest we can't even we can't even qualify that he was alive for
[01:12:36] the last three piggings
[01:12:38] damn dude oh god she she's taken him to like the place to go to get your
[01:12:44] dear stuff and everything taxidermous yeah yeah that's she literally took
[01:12:50] the soul from his body I need you do me a favor
[01:12:55] stuff my poor job is most likely can keep up stuff down eight million
[01:12:59] times he's still warm if you're going to throw a little bit
[01:13:04] the soul's holding man into a fucking
[01:13:10] he'll be ready five minutes
[01:13:16] come on grandkids come get your potatoes I gotta go fuck
[01:13:20] jobs
[01:13:21] the last ever scale it Jarvis for extra

[01:14:39] aperture desk job I'm sorry that's the name of it
[01:14:42] it's more or less today tutorial to show you all the features on the steam deck
[01:14:46] that you wouldn't find on a typical console
[01:14:49] the gyro controls in the back that you can like hold your thumb over
[01:14:54] at them stick to activate gyro and the new the off
[01:14:56] at them stick to gyro off
[01:14:58] I did not know that there was a pack in title with the steam deck
