[00:00:00] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, I see a Sephiroth on a little nightstand.

[00:00:03] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, is that Sephiroth?

[00:00:04] [SPEAKER_07]: I don't know what that sounded like.

[00:00:06] [SPEAKER_07]: Fucking bogey.

[00:00:06] [SPEAKER_06]: I see a Sephiroth on a little nightstand.

[00:00:11] Jesus Christ.

[00:00:12] [SPEAKER_06]: How high are you?

[00:00:13] [SPEAKER_07]: That's fucking dope.

[00:00:15] [SPEAKER_07]: Are you medicine up?

[00:00:17] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm not high, but I'm on drugs.

[00:00:22] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm on drugs.

[00:00:24] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm on back pain meds.

[00:00:26] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, my God.

[00:00:28] [SPEAKER_06]: What it do, everybody?

[00:00:30] [SPEAKER_06]: My name is Aaron.

[00:00:31] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm one of the founding members of the Baja Men.

[00:00:33] [SPEAKER_07]: And I'm Jerry and I have a Denny's secret menu item named after me.

[00:00:37] [SPEAKER_06]: And you're listening to SuperPod Saga.

[00:00:48] [SPEAKER_05]: I could hold it for that. Holy shit.

[00:00:51] [SPEAKER_06]: What would be in the Denny's secret menu besides

[00:00:55] [SPEAKER_06]: that plate of fucking eggs?

[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_06]: The Baja Blast Omelette.

[00:01:00] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, OK.

[00:01:01] [SPEAKER_07]: It's just an omelet covered in Baja Blast.

[00:01:04] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, whip it with some with some Baja Blast and a little bit of heavy cream.

[00:01:09] [SPEAKER_07]: I mean, this is this is kind of a running joke, but I've never had

[00:01:12] [SPEAKER_07]: Baja Blast in my life.

[00:01:13] [SPEAKER_06]: I don't believe you.

[00:01:14] [SPEAKER_07]: And I only had never had a two years ago.

[00:01:17] [SPEAKER_07]: And I only had Mountain do the first time in my life

[00:01:19] [SPEAKER_07]: like two years ago because Greg forced me.

[00:01:22] [SPEAKER_06]: You talk so much shit because I've never seen the ocean.

[00:01:25] [SPEAKER_06]: But then you never had a fucking Baja Blast.

[00:01:27] [SPEAKER_06]: There's Taco Bells everywhere.

[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_06]: You fucking turn a corner.

[00:01:29] [SPEAKER_06]: They turn on this.

[00:01:31] [SPEAKER_06]: They shut our Taco Bell down.

[00:01:32] [SPEAKER_07]: Go to our Taco Bell in town.

[00:01:33] [SPEAKER_07]: Got shut down.

[00:01:34] [SPEAKER_07]: Now, just a regular ass KFC.

[00:01:38] [SPEAKER_07]: They swapped it out for a KFC.

[00:01:40] [SPEAKER_07]: It was always there.

[00:01:41] [SPEAKER_07]: It was part of KFC.

[00:01:43] [SPEAKER_07]: It was like a fucking symbiote to the fusion.

[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_07]: The chicken fusion.

[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, those cells are.

[00:01:48] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, KFC and Taco Bell put the fusion earrings on and they were like, ha!

[00:01:51] [SPEAKER_06]: Like it's a new card.

[00:01:53] [SPEAKER_06]: Hey, you're listening to Super Pod Saga.

[00:01:55] [SPEAKER_06]: That's right. This is the podcast.

[00:01:57] [SPEAKER_06]: That's it for any for any first time listeners.

[00:02:01] [SPEAKER_06]: This is the podcast.

[00:02:02] [SPEAKER_06]: Buckle up.

[00:02:03] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, buckle your seatbelts.

[00:02:09] [SPEAKER_06]: We discuss the different video game topic with different guests.

[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_06]: Hang out, have fun, talk some video games, the video games, accessories.

[00:02:15] [SPEAKER_06]: But before we do dive into that topic, listeners, if you enjoy the show,

[00:02:19] [SPEAKER_06]: leave a rating or review on Spotify or whatever the heck else you listen to the show on.

[00:02:25] [SPEAKER_06]: If you really enjoy the show, you can go check out SuperPodNetwork.com

[00:02:28] [SPEAKER_06]: and check out the backlog of episodes, our blog and all the other cool podcasts on there.

[00:02:32] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, it's like it's the equivalent of dropping a penny in our bucket.

[00:02:36] [SPEAKER_06]: Or doing communion at RC Church or whatever.

[00:02:40] [SPEAKER_07]: I think, I don't know.

[00:02:42] [SPEAKER_07]: Throw money in those gift baskets.

[00:02:45] [SPEAKER_06]: Throw them an Arby's coupon.

[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_06]: Like there you go.

[00:02:50] [SPEAKER_06]: That's the gift that keeps on giving.

[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_06]: But if you really, really enjoy the show,

[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_06]: you can support the show either on Patreon for two or four dollars a month.

[00:02:59] [SPEAKER_06]: Get early access, bonus episodes, all sorts of cool stuff.

[00:03:03] [SPEAKER_06]: Or just buy some Bones coffee with my link and coupon codes through PodSaga.

[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, all that stuff.

[00:03:12] [SPEAKER_06]: But anyway, Jerry, what the hell are we talking about today?

[00:03:16] [SPEAKER_07]: I think we're talking about some obscure RPGs.

[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_07]: And so by definition, I think this means not like a hidden gem per se,

[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_07]: but just RPGs that are kind of like maybe, maybe like maybe you haven't really heard of them.

[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_07]: Maybe a half.

[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_07]: Maybe it's an RPG that's like not really forgotten.

[00:03:37] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, that's a good one.

[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_07]: Forgotten RPGs.

[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, it's just kind of like looked overlooked, I guess.

[00:03:44] [SPEAKER_07]: And maybe maybe a little bit of weirdness in there.

[00:03:47] [SPEAKER_07]: Maybe it's not what you would consider a conventional RPG.

[00:03:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Like a cult classic kind of something like that.

[00:03:53] [SPEAKER_07]: I would dare say a cult classic.

[00:03:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I love cults.

[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Can it be a classic if it's obscure, though?

[00:03:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Like is it obscure?

[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_02]: The definition be like it.

[00:04:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, this is the thing.

[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_07]: You don't really know about it.

[00:04:03] [SPEAKER_07]: Exactly.

[00:04:04] [SPEAKER_07]: This was kind of the thing that I was struggling with when I was thinking about this

[00:04:07] [SPEAKER_07]: because I was like, is Undertale an obscure RPG?

[00:04:12] [SPEAKER_07]: No, no, no.

[00:04:13] [SPEAKER_07]: Everybody knows what Undertale is.

[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Mainstream.

[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_07]: So I unfolded every little part of my brain and I dug pretty deep for this one and kind of shallow at times.

[00:04:23] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, just poked it in through my front eye, hit that frontal cortex and just gave it a couple of pokes.

[00:04:30] [SPEAKER_07]: And I was able to really uncover some shit.

[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_07]: And Aaron, I think you said that you got some stuff.

[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_06]: But yeah, I've got some real doozers.

[00:04:42] [SPEAKER_07]: But I mean, I was just complimenting Rob on that sick ass Sephiroth in the background there that's standing on.

[00:04:50] [SPEAKER_07]: I've seen that Sephiroth, my friend.

[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_07]: That is not a cheap Sephiroth.

[00:04:55] [SPEAKER_04]: It's yeah, it cost me a left.

[00:04:56] [SPEAKER_04]: No, I have one right now.

[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_04]: That's what I have now.

[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_07]: So I see people posting that on fucking marketplace.

[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_07]: And I was like, you want fucking how much for this?

[00:05:05] [SPEAKER_07]: And I look at the retail price.

[00:05:06] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm like, oh, yeah, it's fair.

[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_06]: In other words, are those amiibos on the second and third shelves?

[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Which I'm pretty sure.

[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, there is just The Legend of Zelda.

[00:05:16] [SPEAKER_04]: It's the Ocarina of Time one, the Twilight Princess one and the Majora's Mask one, I think.

[00:05:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Hell yeah.

[00:05:22] [SPEAKER_07]: I think I see the legs of Optimus Prime.

[00:05:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah, he's up.

[00:05:27] [SPEAKER_07]: It's the Lego one that transform.

[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_07]: I recognize those legs anyway.

[00:05:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep, yep.

[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_04]: So a little collection.

[00:05:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Kelvin has a pretty cool collection too, but he's in a hotel Wisconsin right now.

[00:05:40] [SPEAKER_04]: No, he's loving it though.

[00:05:41] [SPEAKER_07]: Sure he is.

[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_07]: And he doesn't have a webcam on his laptop.

[00:05:45] [SPEAKER_07]: He doesn't.

[00:05:46] [SPEAKER_06]: Hey, welcome to the Midwest, Kelvin.

[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_06]: Holy shit.

[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_06]: Hey, I'm in Iowa.

[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_06]: So you could like hop on down any fucking time.

[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_06]: You're in Iowa?

[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, dude.

[00:05:54] [SPEAKER_04]: I went to school there for four years.

[00:05:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I went to Iowa State.

[00:05:58] [SPEAKER_04]: So where in Iowa are you at?

[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_04]: You're in...

[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, where in Iowa are you at?

[00:06:00] [SPEAKER_07]: Docs him right now.

[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_06]: Tell everybody.

[00:06:04] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm 15 minutes from Des Moines.

[00:06:06] [SPEAKER_06]: In a town 15 minutes from Des Moines.

[00:06:07] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, are you in Ames?

[00:06:09] [SPEAKER_06]: Are you in Roland?

[00:06:09] [SPEAKER_06]: No, I'm in...

[00:06:11] [SPEAKER_06]: Just tell me your address while you're at it.

[00:06:12] [SPEAKER_07]: Are we speaking the same language right now?

[00:06:14] [SPEAKER_07]: Are you guys talking like drug talk?

[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_07]: Are you in Ames or are you rolling in Ames?

[00:06:19] [SPEAKER_07]: Jesus Christ, though.

[00:06:20] [SPEAKER_06]: It's near Ames.

[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_06]: Like Ames is like maybe 30 minutes or 35 minutes or something.

[00:06:25] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, Iowa has a special place in my heart.

[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_06]: Honestly.

[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_06]: Hell yeah.

[00:06:29] [SPEAKER_06]: Let's...

[00:06:29] [SPEAKER_06]: Go Cyclones.

[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, go Cyclones.

[00:06:31] [SPEAKER_06]: Let's introduce the guests finally.

[00:06:32] [SPEAKER_06]: Holy shit.

[00:06:33] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, we got one Iowa man repping it.

[00:06:35] [SPEAKER_06]: Old former Iowa man.

[00:06:37] [SPEAKER_06]: Former, yeah.

[00:06:37] [SPEAKER_06]: Former Iowa man, yeah.

[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_06]: So we've got both Rob and Kelvin from the gaming duo.

[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_06]: Hello, boys.

[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_06]: Hello.

[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm feeling like gang signs that you guys can see me and I...

[00:06:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, I don't have a webinar.

[00:06:47] [SPEAKER_02]: You just look like you're having a...

[00:06:49] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm just having a blast but no one can fucking see me.

[00:06:52] [SPEAKER_06]: You could throw some emojis in the chat, I think.

[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_06]: Sure, yeah, I could do that.

[00:06:56] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, wait.

[00:06:57] [SPEAKER_06]: I can?

[00:06:57] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, wait, it doesn't have emojis.

[00:06:59] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, it's stupid.

[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_06]: Come on.

[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_06]: You could take a picture of two.

[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm gonna do colon, smile, colon.

[00:07:05] [SPEAKER_06]: It does not work, never mind.

[00:07:08] [SPEAKER_07]: That's...

[00:07:08] [SPEAKER_07]: Damn it.

[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_07]: Vart.

[00:07:10] [SPEAKER_06]: Fucking shameful.

[00:07:11] [SPEAKER_06]: How do I...

[00:07:11] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, this is garbage.

[00:07:12] Yeah.

[00:07:15] [SPEAKER_06]: Well, guys, yeah, go ahead and introduce...

[00:07:18] [SPEAKER_06]: If you need to take turns introducing yourselves and plug your show

[00:07:22] [SPEAKER_06]: where people can find it, your socials,

[00:07:24] [SPEAKER_06]: and tell us all about your favorites.

[00:07:26] [SPEAKER_06]: Maybe like your favorite...

[00:07:28] [SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.

[00:07:29] [SPEAKER_06]: Cheese.

[00:07:30] [SPEAKER_07]: Favorite cheese?

[00:07:30] [SPEAKER_07]: Calvin's in Wisconsin.

[00:07:31] [SPEAKER_07]: Cheese, yeah, you're in Wisconsin.

[00:07:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Surrounded by cheese.

[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:07:35] [SPEAKER_04]: All right, Calvin, you go first since you're a Wisconsin man.

[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_04]: My favorite cheese?

[00:07:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Provolone.

[00:07:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Ooh.

[00:07:42] [SPEAKER_02]: That's my favorite cheese.

[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Really?

[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Provolone.

[00:07:45] [SPEAKER_02]: That's weak.

[00:07:46] [SPEAKER_06]: Provolone's good.

[00:07:47] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't have any special cheese.

[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_02]: It's a very plain cheese.

[00:07:49] [SPEAKER_02]: It's great, what do you mean?

[00:07:50] [SPEAKER_02]: There's nothing wrong with Provolone.

[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_02]: You can't be mad at Provolone.

[00:07:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but like compared to like a Gouda or a Brie cheese...

[00:07:58] [SPEAKER_06]: Sometimes a motherfucker doesn't want champagne.

[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_06]: Sometimes like a cold glass of water hits just right.

[00:08:04] [SPEAKER_06]: And that's...

[00:08:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, Eric.

[00:08:05] [SPEAKER_06]: Look, dude, if someone's like,

[00:08:07] [SPEAKER_07]: hey, if every day I come home from work and someone's like,

[00:08:10] [SPEAKER_07]: would you like a cold glass of water or champagne?

[00:08:11] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm gonna be like, give me that fucking bottle.

[00:08:14] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, water?

[00:08:15] [SPEAKER_06]: Ebyon?

[00:08:16] [SPEAKER_06]: Champagne.

[00:08:17] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, a champagnes.

[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, champagne.

[00:08:21] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm having that every day.

[00:08:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, yeah, I'm Calvin from the Gaming Duel

[00:08:28] [SPEAKER_02]: and we have a podcast ourselves.

[00:08:30] [SPEAKER_02]: We're also on YouTube where we talk about

[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_02]: the gaming industry and what's going on

[00:08:35] [SPEAKER_02]: within the gaming industry.

[00:08:36] [SPEAKER_02]: And we just have a great time.

[00:08:38] [SPEAKER_02]: We do.

[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Very fun times.

[00:08:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes, yeah.

[00:08:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Most of the time.

[00:08:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Like 97.5% of the time we're putting in time.

[00:08:45] [SPEAKER_04]: So.

[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_05]: Drama.

[00:08:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, kid, I'm kidding.

[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Drama.

[00:08:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Rob, what's your favorite cheese?

[00:08:52] [SPEAKER_04]: You heard it here first, folks.

[00:08:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Ooh, ooh.

[00:08:54] [SPEAKER_04]: So if we're going basic cheese...

[00:08:57] [SPEAKER_04]: You can do whatever cheese you want.

[00:08:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Blue cheese.

[00:09:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Blue cheese?

[00:09:01] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.

[00:09:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I guess I'll have some blue cheese.

[00:09:03] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought we'd do some blue cheese crumbles

[00:09:04] [SPEAKER_04]: because you could dress up a salad real nice

[00:09:06] [SPEAKER_04]: with some blue cheese, get a little funk to it.

[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_04]: You know?

[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_07]: Blue cheese and ranch chicken wings.

[00:09:13] [SPEAKER_07]: You say branch.

[00:09:15] [SPEAKER_07]: Or ranch.

[00:09:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so chicken wings.

[00:09:18] [SPEAKER_04]: What are you guys picking?

[00:09:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Ranch or blue cheese?

[00:09:20] [SPEAKER_06]: Blue cheese.

[00:09:21] [SPEAKER_06]: Ranch.

[00:09:22] [SPEAKER_06]: You're weird.

[00:09:23] [SPEAKER_06]: I know.

[00:09:24] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm in Iowa, man.

[00:09:25] [SPEAKER_06]: We do ranch on everything.

[00:09:26] [SPEAKER_06]: You were here.

[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_06]: No.

[00:09:29] [SPEAKER_06]: You were here.

[00:09:30] [SPEAKER_06]: No, I was there.

[00:09:31] [SPEAKER_06]: Nope, you're wrong.

[00:09:33] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, shit.

[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_06]: You're gonna erase it from the recordings.

[00:09:35] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.

[00:09:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:09:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Not anymore now.

[00:09:39] [SPEAKER_06]: You can't take the Bronx out of Rob.

[00:09:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Nope, nope.

[00:09:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Don't do that.

[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_06]: Anything else you guys wanna plug or talk about

[00:09:48] [SPEAKER_06]: or before we get to the old topic?

[00:09:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, we do podcasts every two weeks

[00:09:54] [SPEAKER_04]: and typically it's just me and Kelvin

[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_04]: but we just went on a hiatus for a while.

[00:09:59] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it was like four or five months

[00:10:00] [SPEAKER_04]: and then we finally came back

[00:10:01] [SPEAKER_04]: and we are like charged up and ready to go so.

[00:10:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Fuck yeah.

[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_07]: It's kinda nice.

[00:10:06] [SPEAKER_07]: I took like what, a week and a half off?

[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_06]: I think so.

[00:10:10] [SPEAKER_07]: Because my back was fucked

[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_07]: and now I'm like hell yeah, I'm ready to get back.

[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm recharged, I'm fucking high on pills.

[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_07]: I am ready to go.

[00:10:19] [SPEAKER_07]: That sounds legit.

[00:10:20] [SPEAKER_07]: There it is.

[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_06]: That's good, man.

[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I...

[00:10:27] [SPEAKER_06]: So I've been slamming this rain

[00:10:29] [SPEAKER_06]: and I've been burping like a motherfucker.

[00:10:31] [SPEAKER_06]: Rain is good, dude.

[00:10:32] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I got the sour gummy worm one

[00:10:33] [SPEAKER_06]: because it sounded fucking tight.

[00:10:35] [SPEAKER_06]: Wait, what is that?

[00:10:37] [SPEAKER_04]: It's an understrain.

[00:10:38] [SPEAKER_06]: It's sour, oh my camera sucks butt

[00:10:40] [SPEAKER_06]: but it's sour gummy worm.

[00:10:41] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh I see, I see.

[00:10:42] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, actually tastes like...

[00:10:43] [SPEAKER_06]: Ry-GN.

[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_06]: What was I gonna say?

[00:10:50] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, Naive from like Gaming Together

[00:10:52] [SPEAKER_06]: and the Elder Trolls,

[00:10:54] [SPEAKER_06]: they've been on your show quite often

[00:10:56] [SPEAKER_06]: so I was like hell yeah, let's get these guys on.

[00:11:00] [SPEAKER_06]: They're in the same old ass circle

[00:11:02] [SPEAKER_06]: because yeah.

[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Ass circles are my favorite ass circle.

[00:11:05] [SPEAKER_05]: I love these ass circles.

[00:11:06] [SPEAKER_05]: They're sitting around, yep.

[00:11:08] [SPEAKER_05]: Butt to butt to butt to butt.

[00:11:14] [SPEAKER_04]: What's in the middle of the circle,

[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_04]: of the ass circle?

[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_06]: Ham, rum ham.

[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_06]: Rum ham?

[00:11:21] [SPEAKER_05]: Rum ham?

[00:11:22] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm sorry, rum ham!

[00:11:25] [SPEAKER_05]: Getting ripped shit on ham.

[00:11:29] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh man, Rob please tell me

[00:11:30] [SPEAKER_06]: you've seen It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, please.

[00:11:33] [SPEAKER_04]: I have seen it.

[00:11:34] [SPEAKER_04]: I haven't watched every episode

[00:11:35] [SPEAKER_04]: but I appreciate the show

[00:11:37] [SPEAKER_04]: and every time I watch this show it's fucking hilarious.

[00:11:40] [SPEAKER_04]: So I don't get the reference, so sorry.

[00:11:43] [SPEAKER_04]: It's okay, it's okay.

[00:11:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, some more milk steak sir?

[00:12:07] [SPEAKER_06]: Well yeah, let's get down to this here topic then

[00:12:10] [SPEAKER_06]: shall we?

[00:12:11] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, we're talking about obscure JRPGs.

[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_06]: My list is, it's got quite a few doozies on here.

[00:12:18] [SPEAKER_06]: I really scoured my brain, my collection,

[00:12:21] [SPEAKER_06]: my Anbernic to find just the stupidest, weirdest shit.

[00:12:25] [SPEAKER_06]: See I'm not necessarily hidden gems,

[00:12:27] [SPEAKER_06]: maybe like a step above that.

[00:12:29] [SPEAKER_06]: So like shit that's just been kind of buried by

[00:12:31] [SPEAKER_06]: of course popular games and hidden gems.

[00:12:35] [SPEAKER_06]: Like who wants to start us off?

[00:12:38] [SPEAKER_06]: Just you guys go on or should I start?

[00:12:40] [SPEAKER_07]: Where does the guest go?

[00:12:41] [SPEAKER_07]: No let the guest go.

[00:12:42] [SPEAKER_07]: It's the guest.

[00:12:43] [SPEAKER_04]: The guests are here.

[00:12:44] [SPEAKER_04]: You want me to go first for the first game?

[00:12:46] [SPEAKER_04]: It's obscure?

[00:12:47] [SPEAKER_04]: The first game.

[00:12:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm interested to hear your thoughts.

[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Why are you saying it like so angry?

[00:12:51] [SPEAKER_04]: You're like go, go do it.

[00:12:52] [SPEAKER_04]: No.

[00:12:52] [SPEAKER_04]: You go first.

[00:12:53] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm just fucking Rob you do it.

[00:12:55] [SPEAKER_06]: You smack talk that probe alone dude.

[00:12:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah I did.

[00:12:59] [SPEAKER_04]: And my fucking, my laptop.

[00:13:01] [SPEAKER_06]: Lack of camera.

[00:13:02] [SPEAKER_04]: For it to be fair your laptop should have a webcam.

[00:13:05] [SPEAKER_04]: It should in it.

[00:13:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Unless it's from 2001 then.

[00:13:10] [SPEAKER_07]: You should write an angry email to the company

[00:13:12] [SPEAKER_07]: I have not found it.

[00:13:16] [SPEAKER_06]: Dear Rog Asus ally, where the fuck is my webcam?

[00:13:22] [SPEAKER_07]: I've been writing you but you still ain't calling.

[00:13:25] [SPEAKER_02]: That'd be the fucking-

[00:13:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Why are you emailing us now?

[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_02]: You bought this four years ago.

[00:13:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I am addressing this today.

[00:13:33] [SPEAKER_06]: Please stop writing to my home address.

[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_06]: The president of Rog or whatever the fuck.

[00:13:39] [SPEAKER_06]: Mr. Bob Rog himself.

[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_06]: Mr. Rog ally.

[00:13:46] [SPEAKER_07]: Mr. Rog are you an ally or not?

[00:13:50] [SPEAKER_07]: Rob what's your first game?

[00:13:53] [SPEAKER_04]: We're gonna go with it's a game from Atlas.

[00:13:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh god yes.

[00:13:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Digital Devil Saga.

[00:14:02] [SPEAKER_06]: My man yeah starting with the fucking

[00:14:03] [SPEAKER_06]: Shin Megami Tensei game hell yeah.

[00:14:06] [SPEAKER_06]: Fucking love that series.

[00:14:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Well hang on.

[00:14:07] [SPEAKER_07]: It's not quite Shin Megami Tensei.

[00:14:09] [SPEAKER_07]: It is.

[00:14:10] [SPEAKER_07]: Yes it is.

[00:14:10] [SPEAKER_07]: It's a spin off.

[00:14:12] Yeah.

[00:14:12] [SPEAKER_07]: Right but that's what I mean.

[00:14:13] [SPEAKER_07]: It's not SMT but it's it's own thing.

[00:14:16] [SPEAKER_07]: No it's a different yeah.

[00:14:18] [SPEAKER_07]: There's so many spin offs of SMT right?

[00:14:20] [SPEAKER_07]: There's Persona and then Digital Devil Saga

[00:14:22] [SPEAKER_07]: I think there's like one more thing.

[00:14:24] [SPEAKER_06]: I can't remember the one.

[00:14:25] [SPEAKER_06]: Devil Survivor fucking.

[00:14:27] [SPEAKER_06]: Devil Survivor.

[00:14:28] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah that's probably one of those.

[00:14:29] [SPEAKER_06]: Devil Summoner, Soul Hacker.

[00:14:30] [SPEAKER_06]: Nocturne is that Shin Megami Tensei?

[00:14:32] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah that's Shin Megami Tensei 3.

[00:14:34] [SPEAKER_06]: 3 yeah.

[00:14:35] [SPEAKER_07]: So Rob I have a question already.

[00:14:38] [SPEAKER_07]: I have never played one of these Digital Devil Sagas.

[00:14:42] [SPEAKER_07]: Please tell me what's a highlight of this thing?

[00:14:48] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's just like any other of the Shin Megami Tensei

[00:14:51] [SPEAKER_04]: that you've played so you're not missing much

[00:14:54] [SPEAKER_04]: but the one cool thing, their gimmick I would say

[00:14:58] [SPEAKER_04]: is that each of your characters have a devil form

[00:15:01] [SPEAKER_04]: that you transform into.

[00:15:02] [SPEAKER_04]: You have a human form and devil form

[00:15:04] [SPEAKER_04]: and the way that you power up your character

[00:15:07] [SPEAKER_04]: is you devour the enemies

[00:15:10] [SPEAKER_04]: and it's literally an attack called Devour

[00:15:12] [SPEAKER_04]: and you gain like abilities and that's how you.

[00:15:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh that's cool as fuck.

[00:15:15] [SPEAKER_07]: It's very cool, it's so cool.

[00:15:17] [SPEAKER_07]: That's cool as fuck.

[00:15:17] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[00:15:18] [SPEAKER_06]: I love lore.

[00:15:19] [SPEAKER_06]: Listeners look it up.

[00:15:21] [SPEAKER_06]: Four?

[00:15:21] [SPEAKER_06]: Rob what's the one that you played?

[00:15:22] [SPEAKER_04]: V-O-R-E look it up.

[00:15:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Google it.

[00:15:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh lore.

[00:15:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:15:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Kylf, what were you saying?

[00:15:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I was just asking what was the game

[00:15:28] [SPEAKER_02]: that you played a lot back in the day

[00:15:29] [SPEAKER_02]: that you were really into?

[00:15:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Digital Devil Saga.

[00:15:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Which one?

[00:15:34] [SPEAKER_04]: One, one.

[00:15:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh the first one?

[00:15:36] [SPEAKER_04]: The first one, there's two of them.

[00:15:37] [SPEAKER_04]: But number one.

[00:15:38] [SPEAKER_07]: Is that on Super Nintendo or?

[00:15:40] [SPEAKER_04]: It's on PS2.

[00:15:42] [SPEAKER_07]: It was a PS2 game?

[00:15:43] [SPEAKER_07]: Holy shit.

[00:15:44] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh I think you're thinking of what came,

[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_06]: because back in the day it was Megami Tensei

[00:15:49] [SPEAKER_06]: like Digital Devil Story.

[00:15:51] [SPEAKER_06]: Digital Devil Saga is totally different.

[00:15:54] [SPEAKER_06]: That's, there's two games on PS2.

[00:15:56] [SPEAKER_07]: I thought there was some of these on Super Nintendo

[00:15:58] [SPEAKER_07]: but.

[00:15:59] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah you're thinking of like before

[00:16:00] [SPEAKER_06]: Shin Megami Tensei.

[00:16:01] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.

[00:16:02] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah so.

[00:16:04] [SPEAKER_06]: You're looking up VOR right now?

[00:16:06] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah VOR, it's V-O-R.

[00:16:07] [SPEAKER_06]: V-O-R-E.

[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_06]: Or.

[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh man.

[00:16:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Game, just type in VOR, VOR game.

[00:16:13] [SPEAKER_06]: It's a fetish.

[00:16:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh no.

[00:16:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh no.

[00:16:17] [SPEAKER_04]: I already see it.

[00:16:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Top NSFW games tagged VOR.

[00:16:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm gonna lie.

[00:16:23] [SPEAKER_04]: I must also see that.

[00:16:24] [SPEAKER_06]: You just Google VOR, you hear all,

[00:16:25] [SPEAKER_06]: it's basically like a.

[00:16:27] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh no, I already clicked it.

[00:16:29] [SPEAKER_06]: I don't like it.

[00:16:30] [SPEAKER_06]: Yep, I'm already out.

[00:16:31] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm out.

[00:16:31] [SPEAKER_07]: What is happening here?

[00:16:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep, yep, yep.

[00:16:34] [SPEAKER_07]: Let me read the, let me read this for you.

[00:16:37] [SPEAKER_07]: Vorophilia is a fetish involving being eaten

[00:16:40] [SPEAKER_07]: or by eating someone or something.

[00:16:44] [SPEAKER_07]: Wasn't there like a thing in Germany

[00:16:46] [SPEAKER_07]: where that dude posted on like Craigslist

[00:16:48] [SPEAKER_07]: and was like I would like someone to eat me.

[00:16:50] [SPEAKER_07]: And then a dude was like I'll do it.

[00:16:53] [SPEAKER_07]: And he did.

[00:16:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Jesus Christ, you'd get anything on Craigslist bro.

[00:16:59] [SPEAKER_04]: To be fair, is it considered murder at that point?

[00:17:02] [SPEAKER_07]: I think person asked.

[00:17:02] [SPEAKER_07]: Here's the thing, I guess this dude,

[00:17:05] [SPEAKER_07]: I think he was put in prison for a bit

[00:17:08] [SPEAKER_07]: because they were like we can't just let you eat a guy

[00:17:11] [SPEAKER_07]: and like not do anything, just be like,

[00:17:14] [SPEAKER_07]: well he said it was okay.

[00:17:15] [SPEAKER_07]: Like I had written permission on the internet.

[00:17:20] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I guess they didn't give a fuck about that.

[00:17:23] [SPEAKER_07]: They were like yeah, you still ate a dude.

[00:17:26] [SPEAKER_04]: That's true.

[00:17:26] [SPEAKER_04]: There's two crazy, not just one crazy.

[00:17:29] [SPEAKER_04]: The person except was like yeah, I'll eat a guy, sure.

[00:17:34] [SPEAKER_04]: That's not reasonable.

[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, sure, I've been waiting for this.

[00:17:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm gonna run off for a minute.

[00:17:38] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm feeling a little peckish.

[00:17:40] [SPEAKER_06]: I didn't have anything better to do today.

[00:17:41] [SPEAKER_06]: Fuck it, I'll eat a guy.

[00:17:43] [SPEAKER_06]: Rob, what's the digital devil saga like again?

[00:17:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Well you eat people, you eat guys, you eat demons.

[00:17:49] [SPEAKER_04]: So there you go.

[00:17:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh man.

[00:17:51] [SPEAKER_05]: Craigslist, here I come.

[00:17:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[00:17:55] [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, it was just like,

[00:17:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it was the first Shimugan Intense game

[00:17:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I've ever played.

[00:17:59] [SPEAKER_04]: So that was kind of my intro to it.

[00:18:01] [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't know that like the different enemies carried over

[00:18:05] [SPEAKER_04]: to all the games.

[00:18:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Like they're all the same enemies.

[00:18:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Basically all the designs, you know,

[00:18:09] [SPEAKER_04]: like what's his name?

[00:18:10] [SPEAKER_06]: Jack Frost, I think his name.

[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, and Jack the Lantern and all that.

[00:18:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Jack the Lantern.

[00:18:14] [SPEAKER_04]: So that was kind of my first dive

[00:18:16] [SPEAKER_04]: and then once I played that,

[00:18:18] [SPEAKER_04]: I never played two unfortunately.

[00:18:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I only got through one,

[00:18:21] [SPEAKER_04]: but I'm like, I remember the story being like kind of okay.

[00:18:25] [SPEAKER_04]: But when that was the first game that came to mind

[00:18:27] [SPEAKER_04]: when you set up Scare RPGs,

[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_04]: because I'm like this is a game that people know about

[00:18:30] [SPEAKER_04]: but no one played it.

[00:18:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Like no one.

[00:18:33] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, that's true.

[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah exactly.

[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_06]: It's a great fucking pick.

[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_06]: I fuck it, I love the Shimugami Tensei series.

[00:18:39] [SPEAKER_06]: I've got every single one of DS and 3DS.

[00:18:42] [SPEAKER_07]: It's pretty much just like goth kid Pokemon.

[00:18:45] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[00:18:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, to go with putting it honestly.

[00:18:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Like more-

[00:18:49] [SPEAKER_07]: I was goth kid growing up so like.

[00:18:51] [SPEAKER_07]: You'd love Shimugami Tensei, Jerbear.

[00:18:54] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[00:18:54] [SPEAKER_07]: I fucking, yep.

[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_07]: That was my goth name by the way growing up.

[00:18:57] [SPEAKER_07]: Jerbear.

[00:18:58] [SPEAKER_07]: Hell yeah.

[00:18:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm actually probably gonna go download

[00:19:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Kijil Tsalva 2.

[00:19:01] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm gonna go get it somehow.

[00:19:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[00:19:03] [SPEAKER_06]: Have you played Nocturne then

[00:19:05] [SPEAKER_06]: since you brought it up earlier?

[00:19:07] [SPEAKER_04]: I have not played Nocturne.

[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_06]: I heard Nocturne is really good.

[00:19:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Dante's in it right from Devil May Cry?

[00:19:12] [SPEAKER_06]: Only on the-

[00:19:13] [SPEAKER_06]: Only, oh what?

[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_06]: Maybe it is on the remaster.

[00:19:18] [SPEAKER_06]: They had, so yeah Nocturne,

[00:19:21] [SPEAKER_06]: which is Shimugami Tensei 3 was on PS2.

[00:19:24] [SPEAKER_06]: And yeah it had this weird fucking crossover

[00:19:27] [SPEAKER_06]: with Devil May Cry where yeah you could

[00:19:30] [SPEAKER_06]: fight Dante as a boss and then recruit him

[00:19:33] [SPEAKER_06]: as a demon or something.

[00:19:35] [SPEAKER_06]: No way.

[00:19:36] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.

[00:19:36] [SPEAKER_06]: You're lying.

[00:19:37] [SPEAKER_06]: No that's a real thing dude.

[00:19:40] [SPEAKER_07]: You tell lies.

[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_06]: But yeah 3 is good.

[00:19:43] [SPEAKER_06]: Nocturne is on I think everything now

[00:19:45] [SPEAKER_06]: because they remastered it.

[00:19:47] [SPEAKER_06]: And then 5, if you're gonna play 5,

[00:19:49] [SPEAKER_06]: get Vengeance because they, oh god it's so much better.

[00:19:52] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah I heard Vengeance is good.

[00:19:54] [SPEAKER_06]: They just released like a-

[00:19:55] [SPEAKER_07]: They did the PC release of it recently.

[00:19:58] [SPEAKER_07]: Cause I tried that on a switch

[00:20:02] [SPEAKER_07]: and I was like I don't know

[00:20:04] [SPEAKER_07]: if I can get behind this frame rate.

[00:20:07] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh it's-

[00:20:07] [SPEAKER_07]: I feel like I want this-

[00:20:08] [SPEAKER_07]: It's bad?

[00:20:09] [SPEAKER_07]: It's not great.

[00:20:10] [SPEAKER_06]: It's not terrible.

[00:20:11] [SPEAKER_06]: I got Vengeance which Vengeance

[00:20:14] [SPEAKER_06]: is like the version they just recently put out

[00:20:17] [SPEAKER_06]: which adds a lot more story, more bosses,

[00:20:21] [SPEAKER_06]: more demons, more quality of life fixes.

[00:20:24] [SPEAKER_06]: Like you can save anywhere think fuck.

[00:20:27] [SPEAKER_06]: Then I got on Series X and it's good.

[00:20:29] [SPEAKER_04]: So on Nocturne you've recruited demons

[00:20:32] [SPEAKER_04]: to fight with you right?

[00:20:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:20:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Is that how that works?

[00:20:35] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah you talk to them and you make bargains

[00:20:38] [SPEAKER_06]: with them and just give them all your fucking money.

[00:20:40] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay so-

[00:20:41] [SPEAKER_02]: So I'm seeing a 1999 version.

[00:20:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Is there a remastered version you said?

[00:20:47] Of Nocturne?

[00:20:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Or is this a completely different game?

[00:20:50] [SPEAKER_07]: It's the same game they just kind of like

[00:20:52] [SPEAKER_07]: they remade it.

[00:20:54] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.

[00:20:54] [SPEAKER_06]: Shouldn't be giving me-

[00:20:55] [SPEAKER_06]: Fuck I'm just gonna say Nocturne.

[00:20:57] [SPEAKER_06]: That name is fucking me up.

[00:20:59] [SPEAKER_06]: Nocturne.

[00:20:59] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah they did a remaster for for sure Switch

[00:21:02] [SPEAKER_06]: and PlayStation.

[00:21:03] [SPEAKER_06]: I think it's on Xbox as well.

[00:21:05] [SPEAKER_06]: We're looking up.

[00:21:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh I just wrote Nocturne

[00:21:08] [SPEAKER_02]: and it was a completely different game.

[00:21:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh shit.

[00:21:10] [SPEAKER_04]: There is a different game called just Nocturne.

[00:21:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it's a scary game.

[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah that's what I was like wait what is-

[00:21:14] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah do SMT Nocturne.

[00:21:16] [SPEAKER_06]: That should find it for you.

[00:21:19] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh the remaster is only on Switch, PS4 and Windows.

[00:21:22] [SPEAKER_06]: Here you go.

[00:21:22] [SPEAKER_04]: So if it's on PS4 you're playing PS5?

[00:21:24] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.

[00:21:24] [SPEAKER_06]: That's true.

[00:21:25] [SPEAKER_06]: There you go.

[00:21:26] [SPEAKER_04]: See good play.

[00:21:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Very good very good very good.

[00:21:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Solid fucking picks man.

[00:21:32] [SPEAKER_07]: Yep that is good.

[00:21:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Can we pick who gets to go next after?

[00:21:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah fuck yeah let's do it man.

[00:21:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah I like that I like that.

[00:21:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I like that you do it.

[00:21:39] [SPEAKER_04]: With Jspot.

[00:21:42] [SPEAKER_07]: Jspot.

[00:21:43] [SPEAKER_04]: You spoke last I was like I'm gonna pick you.

[00:21:47] [SPEAKER_07]: So this is something that I just kind of discovered.

[00:21:51] [SPEAKER_07]: Not discovered I knew about this game for a bit

[00:21:54] [SPEAKER_07]: but I didn't realize that it came out

[00:21:56] [SPEAKER_07]: until like a few weeks ago.

[00:21:58] [SPEAKER_07]: I wanted to play this game for so long.

[00:22:01] [SPEAKER_07]: Mostly because I'm always looking for games

[00:22:03] [SPEAKER_07]: that remind me of Earthbound

[00:22:05] [SPEAKER_07]: because even though Earthbound is like this

[00:22:07] [SPEAKER_07]: like everybody likes Earthbound to some capacity.

[00:22:11] [SPEAKER_07]: Whether it's you like the look of Earthbound,

[00:22:12] [SPEAKER_07]: you like the humor of Earthbound.

[00:22:14] [SPEAKER_07]: It's just like if you like RPGs

[00:22:16] [SPEAKER_07]: you like Earthbound at some capacity.

[00:22:19] [SPEAKER_07]: And it's like kind of been one of those things

[00:22:21] [SPEAKER_07]: where like the only thing that's even come close

[00:22:23] [SPEAKER_07]: to Earthbound for me was Undertale

[00:22:26] [SPEAKER_07]: because like obviously that was a big influence

[00:22:28] [SPEAKER_07]: but even Undertale was like

[00:22:31] [SPEAKER_07]: Undertale wasn't really hitting it for me for Earthbound.

[00:22:36] [SPEAKER_07]: But this game Knuckle Sandwich.

[00:22:39] [SPEAKER_07]: If you have not heard of Knuckle Sandwich

[00:22:41] [SPEAKER_07]: God damn it look this shit up.

[00:22:44] [SPEAKER_07]: This came out like kind of a soft release I think 2023

[00:22:50] [SPEAKER_07]: because I just recently was like

[00:22:52] [SPEAKER_07]: what the fuck when did this come out?

[00:22:54] [SPEAKER_07]: So I got it.

[00:22:57] [SPEAKER_07]: What are you laughing at?

[00:22:58] [SPEAKER_06]: It looks so bad.

[00:23:00] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm just looking at the screenshots on Steam

[00:23:02] [SPEAKER_06]: and there's dudes like beating dogs with bats

[00:23:05] [SPEAKER_06]: and you're like making sandwiches shit.

[00:23:08] [SPEAKER_06]: Of the game?

[00:23:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, on Steam.

[00:23:12] [SPEAKER_07]: I have not gotten that far.

[00:23:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I could see why you were saying like

[00:23:16] [SPEAKER_04]: it looks like that because it kind of does look

[00:23:19] [SPEAKER_04]: like that it gives me that by a hundred percent.

[00:23:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep.

[00:23:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:23:22] [SPEAKER_07]: So it is kind of like in a weird way like

[00:23:27] [SPEAKER_07]: because remember how like in Undertale

[00:23:28] [SPEAKER_07]: if you haven't played Undertale

[00:23:30] [SPEAKER_07]: essentially you could do a passive playthrough

[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_07]: of Undertale where you don't actually fight anything

[00:23:35] [SPEAKER_07]: cause it's kind of like almost like little games

[00:23:38] [SPEAKER_07]: that you play like in like your fight box

[00:23:41] [SPEAKER_07]: where like you can talk to people out of fighting

[00:23:44] [SPEAKER_07]: and stuff like that.

[00:23:44] [SPEAKER_07]: It's kind of like a weird way to play an RPG

[00:23:47] [SPEAKER_07]: but it was really cool.

[00:23:48] [SPEAKER_07]: Knuckle Sandwich is kind of like that

[00:23:50] [SPEAKER_07]: where like there's mini games for some of the fights.

[00:23:55] [SPEAKER_07]: Sometimes it turns into like a full on

[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_07]: like turn-based battle, but then sometimes it's like

[00:24:00] [SPEAKER_07]: you're playing like a shmup

[00:24:02] [SPEAKER_07]: and then sometimes like you're playing

[00:24:03] [SPEAKER_07]: like a fucking rhythm game.

[00:24:05] [SPEAKER_07]: Like it's all over the place, but it is really good.

[00:24:08] [SPEAKER_07]: And the humor is like spot on.

[00:24:12] [SPEAKER_07]: It's really good.

[00:24:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Do you?

[00:24:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm definitely seeing a lot of, like you said

[00:24:16] [SPEAKER_02]: mini games, which is pretty cool.

[00:24:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:24:19] [SPEAKER_02]: And it has a pretty high score

[00:24:20] [SPEAKER_02]: or a solid review on Steam too.

[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_02]: So it looks interesting for sure.

[00:24:25] [SPEAKER_07]: I would definitely recommend anybody

[00:24:26] [SPEAKER_07]: that's looking for something that's kind of like, again

[00:24:28] [SPEAKER_07]: an obscure game that I like, I haven't heard anybody

[00:24:32] [SPEAKER_07]: really talking about this game.

[00:24:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Not a first time ever.

[00:24:37] [SPEAKER_07]: I was anticipating it when they announced

[00:24:40] [SPEAKER_07]: like I see like a fucking little clip of this

[00:24:43] [SPEAKER_07]: and like some summer games fast

[00:24:45] [SPEAKER_07]: or Nintendo direct or some shit.

[00:24:47] [SPEAKER_07]: And I was like, Oh, I want that shit.

[00:24:49] [SPEAKER_07]: That looks fucking cool.

[00:24:51] [SPEAKER_07]: And I put it on my Steam wishlist and I forgot about it.

[00:24:54] [SPEAKER_07]: And then recently I was like going through my wishlist

[00:24:56] [SPEAKER_07]: and I was like, wait

[00:24:57] [SPEAKER_07]: what the fuck?

[00:24:57] [SPEAKER_07]: When did this come out?

[00:24:58] [SPEAKER_07]: And I guess it came out and sometime in 2023.

[00:25:01] [SPEAKER_07]: It must've been late 2023.

[00:25:04] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah. I just started

[00:25:05] [SPEAKER_07]: I just started playing it like a couple of weeks ago

[00:25:09] [SPEAKER_07]: and so far so good.

[00:25:12] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh man.

[00:25:13] [SPEAKER_06]: I just saw, so I just found this article

[00:25:16] [SPEAKER_06]: from Kotaku where it's like Knuckle Sandwich

[00:25:18] [SPEAKER_06]: is an RPG that's like earthbound meets WarioWare.

[00:25:21] [SPEAKER_06]: And I've never been more into that in my entire life.

[00:25:25] [SPEAKER_07]: Dude, I'm telling you right now

[00:25:26] [SPEAKER_07]: like this is the definition of an obscure fucking RPG.

[00:25:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep. Have I heard of it?

[00:25:32] [SPEAKER_07]: Passes the test.

[00:25:38] [SPEAKER_06]: All right, Kelvin, what you got for us?

[00:25:42] [SPEAKER_02]: All right.

[00:25:42] [SPEAKER_02]: So I never really played this game

[00:25:46] [SPEAKER_02]: but this was one of these games where I would see it

[00:25:49] [SPEAKER_02]: and I'm like, damn, this looks really fucking cool.

[00:25:53] [SPEAKER_02]: It's Residence of Fate.

[00:25:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh yes.

[00:25:58] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm not sure why I've never played it

[00:26:00] [SPEAKER_02]: cause it looked rad.

[00:26:01] [SPEAKER_02]: It was from the guys, it was published by Sega

[00:26:04] [SPEAKER_02]: but it was from the guys that make Star Ocean

[00:26:06] [SPEAKER_02]: which is another game that I adore.

[00:26:08] [SPEAKER_02]: But Residence of Fate was basically one of those games

[00:26:12] [SPEAKER_02]: where it had a different direction

[00:26:15] [SPEAKER_02]: instead of your typical RPGs, right?

[00:26:17] [SPEAKER_02]: It kind of revolved around more of like steampunk

[00:26:23] [SPEAKER_02]: but also like robots and mechanical and stuff like that.

[00:26:27] [SPEAKER_02]: So like the magic and stuff like that.

[00:26:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Like this was actually a pretty cool game

[00:26:31] [SPEAKER_02]: because it was trying to change

[00:26:33] [SPEAKER_02]: what RPGs played like in that era, right?

[00:26:37] [SPEAKER_02]: But the only issue is I guess for some reason

[00:26:40] [SPEAKER_02]: they decided to release this game

[00:26:42] [SPEAKER_02]: when Mass Effect 2 came out, God of War 3 came out,

[00:26:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Bayonetta, Bioshock 2 and Final Fantasy 13

[00:26:49] [SPEAKER_02]: all in the same month.

[00:26:51] [SPEAKER_02]: So it just got washed which is pretty much why

[00:26:54] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think any of us played it or maybe heard of it

[00:26:57] [SPEAKER_02]: but it had some really cool combat designs.

[00:27:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I think the art style was what really brought it back

[00:27:03] [SPEAKER_02]: as well because it was very like washed out.

[00:27:05] [SPEAKER_02]: It had like these like gray, brown, red palettes

[00:27:09] [SPEAKER_02]: that it just really didn't,

[00:27:11] [SPEAKER_02]: wasn't very vibrant for like an RPG, right?

[00:27:13] [SPEAKER_02]: For like 2010.

[00:27:15] [SPEAKER_02]: So it's one of those where like

[00:27:17] [SPEAKER_02]: it could have been like a hidden gem sort of

[00:27:19] [SPEAKER_02]: if it actually had the time of day

[00:27:21] [SPEAKER_02]: but no one really played it.

[00:27:23] [SPEAKER_02]: So it just kind of got like pushed to the back

[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_02]: but that was one of those games where I'm like

[00:27:28] [SPEAKER_02]: every time I did see it in like a article

[00:27:30] [SPEAKER_02]: or like in a video or something

[00:27:31] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, oh, that looks really cool

[00:27:33] [SPEAKER_02]: but just never got around to playing.

[00:27:35] [SPEAKER_07]: There's a lot of like gun play in that, right?

[00:27:37] [SPEAKER_07]: Like guns are a thing.

[00:27:39] [SPEAKER_02]: So I think that was what was really changing

[00:27:43] [SPEAKER_02]: the RPG style of it, right?

[00:27:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Because the combat was definitely different.

[00:27:47] [SPEAKER_02]: It was kind of taking a more like systematic

[00:27:49] [SPEAKER_02]: or systemic like strategic approach with the gun play

[00:27:53] [SPEAKER_02]: as opposed to like magic

[00:27:54] [SPEAKER_02]: and all this other cool shit.

[00:27:56] [SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, that was the,

[00:27:58] [SPEAKER_02]: and I heard too that it was very difficult

[00:28:00] [SPEAKER_02]: to like get into.

[00:28:02] [SPEAKER_02]: So they didn't do a good job at like teaching you

[00:28:04] [SPEAKER_02]: like the tutorial was very like kind of loose

[00:28:06] [SPEAKER_02]: in that aspect where you would have to like find tutorials

[00:28:10] [SPEAKER_02]: instead of like giving it to you,

[00:28:11] [SPEAKER_02]: like in the beginning, which kind of like push people away

[00:28:14] [SPEAKER_02]: and it just made it really hard

[00:28:16] [SPEAKER_02]: to like understand the system.

[00:28:19] [SPEAKER_02]: But I wanna give it a shot.

[00:28:20] [SPEAKER_02]: I wish it like re-released or something

[00:28:22] [SPEAKER_02]: and I don't know maybe in today's era

[00:28:24] [SPEAKER_02]: but it's one of those games where you gotta go back

[00:28:28] [SPEAKER_02]: to like the PS3 era to play it.

[00:28:30] [SPEAKER_06]: I think, yeah, they did a remaster of it

[00:28:33] [SPEAKER_06]: for a PS4 in Windows actually.

[00:28:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I'm seeing around.

[00:28:37] [SPEAKER_04]: You could buy for 35 bucks on Steam, 4K version HD.

[00:28:42] [SPEAKER_06]: I played this game a little bit,

[00:28:44] [SPEAKER_06]: but yeah, of course everybody else,

[00:28:46] [SPEAKER_06]: I got turned off at the moment

[00:28:47] [SPEAKER_06]: because other shit was coming out

[00:28:48] [SPEAKER_06]: and it's a lot like a strategy game

[00:28:51] [SPEAKER_06]: meets a turn-based RPG kind of like...

[00:28:54] [SPEAKER_07]: So is it, does it have like an active battle system?

[00:28:58] [SPEAKER_07]: Like is it?

[00:28:58] [SPEAKER_06]: Kind of, so like on each...

[00:29:00] [SPEAKER_06]: It's kind of a mix of everything, yeah.

[00:29:01] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, it's like a hybrid.

[00:29:03] [SPEAKER_06]: You can like on each character's turn,

[00:29:05] [SPEAKER_06]: you'll basically like draw a line

[00:29:07] [SPEAKER_06]: to where you want them to go.

[00:29:09] [SPEAKER_06]: Basically think like a fire emblem

[00:29:11] [SPEAKER_06]: or fucking like any other tactics game

[00:29:14] [SPEAKER_06]: where you like pick where you want your character to go

[00:29:16] [SPEAKER_06]: and then they'll go

[00:29:17] [SPEAKER_06]: and then along the way

[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_06]: you can choose to shoot at enemies

[00:29:20] [SPEAKER_06]: but you only have a certain number of action points

[00:29:23] [SPEAKER_06]: to be able to do shit.

[00:29:24] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, it's complicated as shit,

[00:29:27] [SPEAKER_06]: but it's cool.

[00:29:28] [SPEAKER_04]: It looks complicated.

[00:29:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I just watched like a mini video of it

[00:29:30] [SPEAKER_04]: and it had like strategy RPG like hybrid.

[00:29:33] [SPEAKER_04]: It's very weird and I could see like

[00:29:35] [SPEAKER_04]: if you didn't really vibe with it like right away,

[00:29:38] [SPEAKER_04]: you're like, I'm not gonna play this game

[00:29:39] [SPEAKER_04]: with everything else coming out at the time.

[00:29:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I could see why.

[00:29:42] [SPEAKER_07]: Isn't it crazy how like a release date

[00:29:45] [SPEAKER_07]: could send a game into obscurity?

[00:29:48] [SPEAKER_02]: 100%.

[00:29:49] [SPEAKER_07]: It's like they picked the wrong fucking...

[00:29:51] [SPEAKER_07]: It's like, no, you fucked up.

[00:29:53] [SPEAKER_07]: You picked June 14th?

[00:29:54] [SPEAKER_07]: Are you out of your goddamn mind?

[00:29:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Whoever decided, yeah, this is the day, right here.

[00:30:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Again, God of War 3,

[00:30:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Mass Effect 2, Bayonetta, Bioshock 2, Final Fantasy 13,

[00:30:06] [SPEAKER_02]: all within the same month.

[00:30:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Idiot, come on, man.

[00:30:09] [SPEAKER_07]: Dude, I still say if you want your game to perform well,

[00:30:14] [SPEAKER_07]: release it in fucking August

[00:30:15] [SPEAKER_07]: because guess what?

[00:30:16] [SPEAKER_07]: Guess what comes out in August?

[00:30:18] [SPEAKER_07]: Nothing.

[00:30:18] [SPEAKER_07]: Fucking nothing ever comes out in August.

[00:30:20] [SPEAKER_07]: But now I feel like game companies

[00:30:22] [SPEAKER_07]: are finally starting to get it

[00:30:24] [SPEAKER_07]: because we got a fucking shit ton of games

[00:30:27] [SPEAKER_07]: coming out this month.

[00:30:29] [SPEAKER_07]: Fucking Visions of Mana is this month.

[00:30:33] [SPEAKER_07]: And Wukong, isn't that like this week?

[00:30:35] [SPEAKER_02]: The 20th.

[00:30:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah, the 20th.

[00:30:37] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, so like two pretty big fucking games

[00:30:40] [SPEAKER_07]: coming out this month.

[00:30:42] [SPEAKER_02]: A good month too is January.

[00:30:44] [SPEAKER_02]: January's a great month to release games.

[00:30:45] [SPEAKER_07]: January is a good month, yeah

[00:30:46] [SPEAKER_07]: because especially everybody's getting

[00:30:49] [SPEAKER_07]: that fucking aunt and uncle fucking Christmas bonus

[00:30:52] [SPEAKER_07]: in your stockings.

[00:30:53] [SPEAKER_07]: They got money, they got gift cards.

[00:30:54] [SPEAKER_07]: Grandma's sliding you a little 20,

[00:30:55] [SPEAKER_02]: you know what I mean?

[00:30:57] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, granny a slide you and I saw a fitty.

[00:31:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Sludgy 50.

[00:31:04] [SPEAKER_07]: Nice crisp, wet 50.

[00:31:08] [SPEAKER_06]: Crisp and what?

[00:31:10] [SPEAKER_06]: Dude, that's why.

[00:31:11] [SPEAKER_07]: Kelvin can I go next?

[00:31:13] [SPEAKER_02]: You got it, yeah go for it.

[00:31:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay cool, cool, cool, cool, okay.

[00:31:16] [SPEAKER_06]: My first one is, it's a pretty recent one.

[00:31:20] [SPEAKER_06]: It's Blue Reflection Second Light.

[00:31:23] [SPEAKER_06]: The fuck?

[00:31:24] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah man.

[00:31:25] [SPEAKER_06]: Say again?

[00:31:26] [SPEAKER_06]: Blue Reflection Second Light.

[00:31:28] [SPEAKER_06]: One more time.

[00:31:30] [SPEAKER_06]: PS4, Windows and Switch.

[00:31:33] [SPEAKER_06]: And it's basically how the.

[00:31:36] [SPEAKER_07]: That is the most anime ass game I've ever heard of.

[00:31:38] [SPEAKER_02]: What the art is?

[00:31:39] [SPEAKER_06]: You're clicking a picture and you'll see.

[00:31:40] [SPEAKER_02]: This is the most anime ass game I've ever seen.

[00:31:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Holy shit.

[00:31:44] [SPEAKER_06]: Doki Doki Literature Club?

[00:31:45] [SPEAKER_06]: Is that what this is?

[00:31:46] [SPEAKER_06]: No, it's not a visual novel at all.

[00:31:48] [SPEAKER_06]: It's an RPG hence why it's in this episode.

[00:31:50] [SPEAKER_06]: So it's, so basically these four,

[00:31:54] [SPEAKER_06]: I forget how many girls there are

[00:31:55] [SPEAKER_06]: but they're all basically plucked from real life

[00:31:58] [SPEAKER_06]: into this like weird shadow world or whatever the fuck.

[00:32:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:32:02] [SPEAKER_06]: And they take shelter in this abandoned school

[00:32:05] [SPEAKER_06]: which they have to go out and find materials

[00:32:09] [SPEAKER_06]: basically to cook, to craft shit,

[00:32:12] [SPEAKER_06]: to basically just to survive.

[00:32:13] [SPEAKER_06]: Like they're just surviving in this school

[00:32:15] [SPEAKER_06]: fighting for their lives against monsters

[00:32:17] [SPEAKER_06]: in this shadow world.

[00:32:19] [SPEAKER_06]: And along the way, yeah each of them discovers

[00:32:21] [SPEAKER_06]: that they have these like different abilities

[00:32:23] [SPEAKER_06]: when they fight against monsters.

[00:32:25] [SPEAKER_06]: So when a battle starts they'll,

[00:32:26] [SPEAKER_06]: each character has like a different weapon.

[00:32:28] [SPEAKER_06]: Like one character has a weird gun.

[00:32:31] [SPEAKER_06]: The main character has a scythe,

[00:32:32] [SPEAKER_06]: one character has like a hula hoop kind of thing.

[00:32:37] [SPEAKER_04]: And.

[00:32:37] [SPEAKER_04]: The hula hoop.

[00:32:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Damn, gotta watch out.

[00:32:39] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah dude.

[00:32:40] [SPEAKER_06]: Best be fucking around with this hula hoop.

[00:32:43] [SPEAKER_06]: And the combat is kinda fucking cool too.

[00:32:45] [SPEAKER_06]: So like it's a lot like Grandia 2

[00:32:47] [SPEAKER_06]: if anybody's ever played that or Grandia 1

[00:32:49] [SPEAKER_06]: or whatever it's got that timeline on the bottom.

[00:32:52] [SPEAKER_06]: And like as time passes

[00:32:54] [SPEAKER_06]: there'll be different notches on the timeline

[00:32:56] [SPEAKER_06]: after you pass a notch they'll charge up

[00:32:59] [SPEAKER_06]: like a certain amount of energy

[00:33:00] [SPEAKER_06]: and wants to get to,

[00:33:02] [SPEAKER_06]: like when you pick a move

[00:33:04] [SPEAKER_06]: there's a certain amount of energy that you need

[00:33:05] [SPEAKER_06]: to accumulate to be able to use that move.

[00:33:08] [SPEAKER_06]: So you have to wait until

[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_06]: that character charges up enough energy

[00:33:11] [SPEAKER_06]: or you can wait even longer

[00:33:13] [SPEAKER_06]: and power it up even more.

[00:33:15] [SPEAKER_06]: And then just unleash it on the enemy

[00:33:16] [SPEAKER_06]: and you can stun them.

[00:33:19] [SPEAKER_06]: And kinda like in Shin Megami Tensei fashion

[00:33:22] [SPEAKER_06]: get like an extra turn.

[00:33:23] [SPEAKER_06]: It's pretty fucking cool man.

[00:33:25] [SPEAKER_06]: Blue reflection it's probably on sale a lot.

[00:33:28] [SPEAKER_06]: It's really cool.

[00:33:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Interesting.

[00:33:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Can I play this game on a plane ride

[00:33:33] [SPEAKER_04]: with someone I don't know right next to me?

[00:33:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Will I get judged?

[00:33:38] [SPEAKER_06]: Yes you can.

[00:33:39] [SPEAKER_06]: There is no like-

[00:33:40] [SPEAKER_07]: Yes you will get judged.

[00:33:42] [SPEAKER_06]: There's no weird shit.

[00:33:43] [SPEAKER_06]: It's just, I mean I guess it depends

[00:33:46] [SPEAKER_06]: on what your threshold is for humiliation.

[00:33:49] [SPEAKER_06]: If you're like no I'm playing

[00:33:50] [SPEAKER_06]: the game with school girls look away.

[00:33:53] [SPEAKER_06]: Maybe don't but it's just-

[00:33:55] [SPEAKER_07]: I learned my threshold the last time I flew

[00:33:57] [SPEAKER_07]: when I was trying to read Berserk on a flight.

[00:34:01] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh I read that shit out in the open man.

[00:34:02] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm like fuck.

[00:34:04] [SPEAKER_07]: It was not very fun to try to explain myself

[00:34:11] [SPEAKER_07]: to the stewardess that came to be like

[00:34:13] [SPEAKER_07]: would you like a drink?

[00:34:14] [SPEAKER_07]: And I was just like no I'm good.

[00:34:17] [SPEAKER_07]: And then I realized what I was looking at.

[00:34:19] [SPEAKER_06]: Come back again dude.

[00:34:20] [SPEAKER_06]: Casca is like-

[00:34:23] [SPEAKER_07]: No it was a woman that was straddling Guts' sword

[00:34:29] [SPEAKER_04]: and lusting.

[00:34:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Hell yeah dude.

[00:34:31] [SPEAKER_04]: That'll do it.

[00:34:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:34:32] [SPEAKER_07]: And I was like yeah how do I turn this Kindle off

[00:34:36] [SPEAKER_07]: real fucking quick here?

[00:34:39] [SPEAKER_07]: Couldn't even slam it shut.

[00:34:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Is he worse?

[00:34:42] [SPEAKER_04]: They seem worse, that's all I'm gonna say.

[00:34:43] [SPEAKER_07]: They probably have.

[00:34:45] [SPEAKER_04]: So blue reflection yeah good game.

[00:34:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah all right I will-

[00:34:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm just trying to figure out the gameplay

[00:34:55] [SPEAKER_02]: side of things.

[00:34:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Because looking at it,

[00:34:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I know you were saying you kind of like

[00:35:02] [SPEAKER_02]: attack enemies.

[00:35:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know I'm not getting much from it

[00:35:07] [SPEAKER_02]: from Steam right now.

[00:35:08] [SPEAKER_02]: So I'm trying to watch a video and it's not really-

[00:35:10] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah so as far as combat goes

[00:35:14] [SPEAKER_06]: there's just like think of it like as the ATB

[00:35:18] [SPEAKER_06]: kind of shit in like Final Fantasy.

[00:35:20] [SPEAKER_06]: You're basically just waiting for your time to attack

[00:35:23] [SPEAKER_06]: but yeah like I said certain moves need a certain amount

[00:35:26] [SPEAKER_06]: of energy to accumulate before you can launch them.

[00:35:29] [SPEAKER_06]: So you have to wait a little bit before you can attack.

[00:35:32] [SPEAKER_06]: The same also goes for enemies as well too.

[00:35:34] [SPEAKER_06]: But yeah you can attack an enemy with like

[00:35:37] [SPEAKER_06]: a certain type of move that they're weak against

[00:35:39] [SPEAKER_06]: and then stun lock them essentially

[00:35:41] [SPEAKER_06]: and enemies can do the same thing to you.

[00:35:43] [SPEAKER_06]: So it's a lot of risk and reward.

[00:35:46] [SPEAKER_06]: And like each day in the game basically you're

[00:35:50] [SPEAKER_06]: going out with your party of gals

[00:35:52] [SPEAKER_06]: and you're fighting enemies, getting resources

[00:35:55] [SPEAKER_06]: for pre-op or building new structures.

[00:35:58] [SPEAKER_07]: Is there like a dating sim mechanic?

[00:36:00] [SPEAKER_07]: So that was kind of my question.

[00:36:02] [SPEAKER_02]: So is there like a sims side to this or no?

[00:36:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Is it like kind of persona or not really?

[00:36:07] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah it's more so persona.

[00:36:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Is this just honey pop persona?

[00:36:10] [SPEAKER_06]: No there's no nudity in it at all.

[00:36:11] [SPEAKER_06]: It's got a little bit of persona

[00:36:13] [SPEAKER_06]: because as you build your friendship with each character

[00:36:16] [SPEAKER_06]: they'll unlock new abilities and get like permanent bonuses

[00:36:20] [SPEAKER_06]: and shit like that.

[00:36:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Gotcha, got it yeah now I'm getting it okay.

[00:36:25] [SPEAKER_06]: You know what Calvin you can go next.

[00:36:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Fuck!

[00:36:29] [SPEAKER_06]: You know what you asked a question.

[00:36:30] [SPEAKER_06]: I was going to go next.

[00:36:32] [SPEAKER_06]: Every time someone thinks I'm going to go next.

[00:36:34] [SPEAKER_04]: You're talking smack about my game?

[00:36:35] [SPEAKER_04]: All right, all right you go next.

[00:36:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Provalone RPG.

[00:36:40] [SPEAKER_02]: No camera eyes.

[00:36:41] [SPEAKER_02]: All right let's see.

[00:36:45] [SPEAKER_02]: What can I throw at you guys?

[00:36:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Let's see.

[00:36:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Come on I'm ready.

[00:36:50] [SPEAKER_02]: This game has a soft spot

[00:36:54] [SPEAKER_02]: and I know I think Rob knows what it is but.

[00:36:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Honey pop.

[00:36:58] [SPEAKER_02]: No, no sorry.

[00:37:00] [SPEAKER_02]: So this game came out in the PS2 era.

[00:37:02] [SPEAKER_02]: It's called Legaia 2.

[00:37:05] [SPEAKER_07]: The sequel to Legend of Legaia.

[00:37:09] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh is it that?

[00:37:10] [SPEAKER_07]: I didn't know that.

[00:37:11] [SPEAKER_07]: So maybe is it?

[00:37:12] [SPEAKER_07]: No it isn't.

[00:37:13] [SPEAKER_07]: It is obscure, it is obscure.

[00:37:15] [SPEAKER_02]: So this game back in the day

[00:37:18] [SPEAKER_02]: and I'm sure you guys can relate right.

[00:37:20] [SPEAKER_02]: We would go to like GameSpot or GameStop

[00:37:23] [SPEAKER_02]: and just we don't know what the fuck we're buying.

[00:37:26] [SPEAKER_02]: We're just like oh we have mom's gonna give us

[00:37:28] [SPEAKER_02]: 40 bucks or whatever to buy a game.

[00:37:30] [SPEAKER_02]: So this is like our time.

[00:37:32] [SPEAKER_02]: We trade like six games

[00:37:33] [SPEAKER_02]: and we get like one shitty ass game right.

[00:37:36] [SPEAKER_02]: So you're looking at the catalog there

[00:37:38] [SPEAKER_02]: and you're like oh this game looks cool.

[00:37:39] [SPEAKER_02]: You're just basing it solely based off of the

[00:37:42] [SPEAKER_02]: cover.

[00:37:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Right at the cover.

[00:37:44] [SPEAKER_02]: So Legaia 2 grabbed my attention for whatever reason

[00:37:46] [SPEAKER_02]: and it's one of those shitty games

[00:37:50] [SPEAKER_02]: that to you it's like the best thing ever right.

[00:37:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Like it probably didn't even rate well.

[00:37:54] [SPEAKER_02]: I think Metacritic was like at 70 which is not bad

[00:37:58] [SPEAKER_02]: but this game, it was just one of those games

[00:38:00] [SPEAKER_02]: where like holy shit like this is an awesome fucking game

[00:38:04] [SPEAKER_02]: and in hindsight it really wasn't

[00:38:06] [SPEAKER_02]: but it was interesting because it's pretty bad.

[00:38:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Well mostly like art direction was fine

[00:38:14] [SPEAKER_02]: but just the conversations between the players

[00:38:18] [SPEAKER_02]: were just like terrible.

[00:38:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Like it had some pretty bad moments

[00:38:21] [SPEAKER_02]: but I think the combat system made it

[00:38:24] [SPEAKER_02]: kind of interesting as well

[00:38:25] [SPEAKER_02]: because it had that direction.

[00:38:27] [SPEAKER_02]: It reminded me of like Street Fighter sort of

[00:38:29] [SPEAKER_02]: where you can put in your inputs

[00:38:32] [SPEAKER_02]: and it'll save your inputs afterwards.

[00:38:34] [SPEAKER_02]: So if you do like left right left triangle or something

[00:38:37] [SPEAKER_02]: and then you can actually create your own attack

[00:38:41] [SPEAKER_02]: or something right.

[00:38:42] [SPEAKER_02]: And you learn your attacks as you keep doing them

[00:38:44] [SPEAKER_02]: by experimenting and that was kind of the cool side of it

[00:38:47] [SPEAKER_02]: and I think that was like the first game

[00:38:48] [SPEAKER_02]: that I've ever played that you can create weapons,

[00:38:50] [SPEAKER_02]: armor and like I think you have like a camp system.

[00:38:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Like those were the first times you can like cook

[00:38:55] [SPEAKER_02]: and stuff and for me that was like oh shit

[00:38:57] [SPEAKER_02]: like that's really cool.

[00:38:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I think the battle system was what really got me

[00:39:02] [SPEAKER_02]: and it was one of those interesting like mechanics

[00:39:04] [SPEAKER_02]: that you can kind of try like trial and error

[00:39:06] [SPEAKER_02]: and just decide how you want to play it.

[00:39:08] [SPEAKER_02]: But this was the game that I was like looking into

[00:39:13] [SPEAKER_02]: like game facts, trying to figure out

[00:39:14] [SPEAKER_02]: how to get past this like puzzle or something

[00:39:16] [SPEAKER_02]: like this was the one that I was like really trying

[00:39:18] [SPEAKER_02]: to like try to get into a lot.

[00:39:20] [SPEAKER_02]: So the guy too man,

[00:39:21] [SPEAKER_02]: it holds a special place in my heart.

[00:39:24] [SPEAKER_06]: I had no idea Legend of Lagaya got a fucking sequel

[00:39:27] [SPEAKER_06]: man that's-

[00:39:28] [SPEAKER_06]: There you go.

[00:39:28] [SPEAKER_06]: You've exploded my brain.

[00:39:30] [SPEAKER_06]: There you go.

[00:39:31] [SPEAKER_06]: Fuck yeah.

[00:39:33] [SPEAKER_06]: That's wild as shit dude.

[00:39:35] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.

[00:39:36] [SPEAKER_04]: It kind of paved the way for like the way that you have

[00:39:40] [SPEAKER_04]: like there's like little personas that come behind you

[00:39:43] [SPEAKER_04]: like they're like your alter ego.

[00:39:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh by the way shout out to you guys

[00:39:46] [SPEAKER_04]: for the JoJo intro music by the way.

[00:39:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh yeah.

[00:39:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I caught that I was just like these guys

[00:39:53] [SPEAKER_04]: know what's up but it's kind of like a familiar

[00:39:56] [SPEAKER_04]: behind you that like pops up

[00:39:58] [SPEAKER_04]: and they have like special abilities

[00:39:59] [SPEAKER_04]: to make you stronger so it kind of reminds me of that.

[00:40:01] [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah it was definitely a game that was probably decent

[00:40:09] [SPEAKER_04]: at the time but obviously has not aged well at all

[00:40:13] [SPEAKER_04]: like not even close so.

[00:40:15] [SPEAKER_07]: It'd be cool to see something else

[00:40:16] [SPEAKER_07]: with that battle system though

[00:40:17] [SPEAKER_07]: cause I can't think of and that I feel

[00:40:19] [SPEAKER_07]: like that's something that sticks out for me

[00:40:21] [SPEAKER_07]: is when I find like an obscure RPG

[00:40:23] [SPEAKER_07]: with like a battle system that's kind of odd.

[00:40:27] [SPEAKER_07]: Like that's why I picked Knuckle Sandwich

[00:40:28] [SPEAKER_07]: because like who the like what other fucking game

[00:40:31] [SPEAKER_07]: other than like Undertale has anything remotely close

[00:40:33] [SPEAKER_07]: to having like mini games for their fucking battles

[00:40:36] [SPEAKER_07]: and shit like it's such a weird thing

[00:40:39] [SPEAKER_07]: and I think Legaia is such a cool pick

[00:40:41] [SPEAKER_07]: because I also remember I didn't play Legaia 2

[00:40:45] [SPEAKER_07]: but I played The Legend of Legaia on PS1.

[00:40:48] [SPEAKER_07]: I think I actually owned it.

[00:40:50] [SPEAKER_07]: I think I picked up in like a fucking bargain bin

[00:40:51] [SPEAKER_07]: at a Kmart or something one time

[00:40:53] [SPEAKER_07]: and I was like yeah sure I'll fucking buy this.

[00:40:57] [SPEAKER_07]: It was that and Suikoden both of those at the same time.

[00:41:00] [SPEAKER_07]: And I remember just being like popping in Legend of Legaia

[00:41:06] [SPEAKER_07]: and being like this is pretty fucking cool man

[00:41:08] [SPEAKER_07]: and my friend was there

[00:41:10] [SPEAKER_07]: and he was like sleeping over that night and stuff.

[00:41:12] [SPEAKER_07]: He was like man let's pop in that other one.

[00:41:14] [SPEAKER_07]: I was like yeah it's getting kind of late though.

[00:41:16] [SPEAKER_07]: Like do we want to pop this one in?

[00:41:17] [SPEAKER_07]: We popped in fucking Suikoden

[00:41:19] [SPEAKER_07]: and I was like oh this is good.

[00:41:22] [SPEAKER_07]: This is real good and it was pretty much

[00:41:24] [SPEAKER_07]: just like Legaia in the garbage.

[00:41:27] [SPEAKER_07]: I don't expect that.

[00:41:32] [SPEAKER_00]: It's so good.

[00:41:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh shit.

[00:41:36] [SPEAKER_02]: When you went to the store you got a game

[00:41:39] [SPEAKER_02]: and you're like oh shit this is good.

[00:41:41] [SPEAKER_02]: You felt proud of yourself for getting something

[00:41:43] [SPEAKER_02]: that was actually pretty fucking cool.

[00:41:43] [SPEAKER_07]: I thought Suikoden was going to be the shittier one

[00:41:45] [SPEAKER_07]: because the cover of Suikoden has real people on it.

[00:41:49] [SPEAKER_07]: It's almost like real pictures of people.

[00:41:51] [SPEAKER_07]: It's such a shit cover for the first Suikoden

[00:41:53] [SPEAKER_07]: and then Legend of Legaia looks pretty good.

[00:41:57] [SPEAKER_07]: I was like oh this is good.

[00:41:57] [SPEAKER_07]: This is fucking badass and I was like yep that's the one.

[00:42:01] [SPEAKER_07]: But it is a good game.

[00:42:01] [SPEAKER_06]: I was like a piece of shit.

[00:42:04] [SPEAKER_06]: What the fuck?

[00:42:04] [SPEAKER_07]: I told you dude Suikoden 1 is such a shit tier fucking.

[00:42:07] [SPEAKER_06]: Looks like those gold box Dungeons and Dragons games.

[00:42:12] [SPEAKER_07]: It's like a fucking Hallmark film

[00:42:14] [SPEAKER_07]: trying to make an RPG or something.

[00:42:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah it's not good.

[00:42:17] [SPEAKER_04]: It's not good.

[00:42:18] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not their best work.

[00:42:19] [SPEAKER_02]: I remember Rob and I we were sleeping over too

[00:42:22] [SPEAKER_02]: and we were finishing the final boss and Legaia too.

[00:42:25] [SPEAKER_02]: We stood up all night.

[00:42:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I think you fell asleep Rob.

[00:42:30] [SPEAKER_02]: And we finally beat the guy, whoever, I forget his name.

[00:42:36] [SPEAKER_02]: It took us forever to beat that guy.

[00:42:39] [SPEAKER_02]: We died literally hundreds of times for whatever reason

[00:42:42] [SPEAKER_02]: and we finally beat that guy.

[00:42:43] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like 4 a.m. as little like nine year old

[00:42:45] [SPEAKER_04]: or whatever.

[00:42:47] [SPEAKER_07]: I love a good memory of a sleepover

[00:42:50] [SPEAKER_07]: where it's like you stayed up all night

[00:42:51] [SPEAKER_07]: trying to fucking beat one goddamn boss.

[00:42:54] [SPEAKER_07]: I have like a few of those.

[00:42:56] [SPEAKER_02]: It's great.

[00:42:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah it's a good game.

[00:42:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Speaking of Rob, you're next.

[00:43:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh me, me, me, me.

[00:43:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Me, me, me, me.

[00:43:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Memory.

[00:43:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if this one is like as obscure

[00:43:10] [SPEAKER_04]: as the other ones but I think it's pretty obscure

[00:43:12] [SPEAKER_04]: because I don't know a lot of,

[00:43:14] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know personally a lot of people

[00:43:15] [SPEAKER_04]: who've played this game

[00:43:16] [SPEAKER_04]: but there are a lot of people who play this game.

[00:43:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Also came out in the PS2 era.

[00:43:20] [SPEAKER_04]: We're gonna go with Shadow Hearts Covenant.

[00:43:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Hell yeah.

[00:43:24] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh yeah.

[00:43:25] [SPEAKER_07]: That's, I love that for the timed hits.

[00:43:27] [SPEAKER_07]: There's not enough timed hits in the world.

[00:43:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep.

[00:43:30] [SPEAKER_04]: See you know your shit.

[00:43:31] [SPEAKER_04]: You know your shit, JSpot.

[00:43:32] [SPEAKER_04]: You know all.

[00:43:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep exactly and that was piggybacking off of Kelvin

[00:43:36] [SPEAKER_04]: with the guy with the inputs.

[00:43:37] [SPEAKER_04]: No other game had like,

[00:43:39] [SPEAKER_04]: you know just like if you wanted to hit someone

[00:43:41] [SPEAKER_04]: you had to time them exactly right

[00:43:42] [SPEAKER_04]: and if you hit like a little tiny sliver

[00:43:44] [SPEAKER_04]: it like has a critical hit.

[00:43:45] [SPEAKER_07]: It was a hard turn based era.

[00:43:46] [SPEAKER_07]: That was a hard like timed hits system too.

[00:43:48] [SPEAKER_07]: Like Mario RPG is fucking forgiving

[00:43:51] [SPEAKER_07]: but like holy shit that game though

[00:43:54] [SPEAKER_07]: that was some precision.

[00:43:56] [SPEAKER_07]: Cause it was like a fucking needle.

[00:43:59] [SPEAKER_04]: What was nice about that game

[00:44:00] [SPEAKER_04]: is it actually had really great accessibility options

[00:44:03] [SPEAKER_04]: where like if you wanted to make the game easier

[00:44:05] [SPEAKER_04]: you could make the spaces bigger right?

[00:44:08] [SPEAKER_04]: You could do like one hit

[00:44:09] [SPEAKER_04]: and then just like this one giant.

[00:44:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah you can.

[00:44:12] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh that's interesting.

[00:44:12] [SPEAKER_07]: I'll punish myself for no reason then.

[00:44:15] [SPEAKER_04]: He's like on the hardest one

[00:44:16] [SPEAKER_04]: where like this tiny.

[00:44:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Fuck.

[00:44:19] [SPEAKER_07]: Monocle up to the screen.

[00:44:21] [SPEAKER_07]: I say it's 12 o'clock

[00:44:23] [SPEAKER_07]: and it's time for a timed hit.

[00:44:28] [SPEAKER_04]: But not even just the combat

[00:44:29] [SPEAKER_04]: but just like the characters were absolutely incredible.

[00:44:32] [SPEAKER_04]: The story was amazing.

[00:44:35] [SPEAKER_04]: There's not a lot, you know how like RPGs

[00:44:36] [SPEAKER_04]: there's so much fluff when it comes to story

[00:44:39] [SPEAKER_04]: and everything takes forever to get started.

[00:44:40] [SPEAKER_04]: From the jump this game is just like action.

[00:44:43] [SPEAKER_07]: This game is fucked up right?

[00:44:44] [SPEAKER_07]: Like it's.

[00:44:44] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah it's weird.

[00:44:45] [SPEAKER_04]: It's got a weird like ending.

[00:44:46] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like a bunch of timed shit.

[00:44:49] [SPEAKER_04]: It's fucking weird as shit.

[00:44:51] [SPEAKER_06]: I've only ever played the first game

[00:44:52] [SPEAKER_06]: and that one was fucking like nut balls

[00:44:55] [SPEAKER_06]: right away at the beginning with like the train and shit.

[00:44:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah.

[00:44:58] [SPEAKER_04]: The first one I would say is weirder than the second one.

[00:45:00] [SPEAKER_07]: For sure.

[00:45:01] [SPEAKER_07]: Is there three of these or is it two?

[00:45:03] [SPEAKER_04]: There's three New World

[00:45:04] [SPEAKER_04]: but New World wasn't as like as well received

[00:45:09] [SPEAKER_04]: as the other two.

[00:45:10] [SPEAKER_04]: That's kind of like when the series went to go die

[00:45:13] [SPEAKER_04]: because they moved everything to America

[00:45:14] [SPEAKER_04]: and we kill everything.

[00:45:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Like so.

[00:45:16] [SPEAKER_04]: That's probably why it's.

[00:45:19] [SPEAKER_07]: We just can't, we just can't help it.

[00:45:22] [SPEAKER_07]: It's like oh look at this nice new thing.

[00:45:23] [SPEAKER_07]: What happened?

[00:45:24] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh we killed him again.

[00:45:25] [SPEAKER_07]: He died.

[00:45:26] [SPEAKER_07]: We fucking, we killed it.

[00:45:27] [SPEAKER_07]: He's just holding his dead thing.

[00:45:29] [SPEAKER_04]: But I just have a thing for games

[00:45:31] [SPEAKER_04]: where you get to transform

[00:45:32] [SPEAKER_04]: into like different creatures and stuff

[00:45:34] [SPEAKER_04]: where the main character Yuri,

[00:45:37] [SPEAKER_04]: he can turn into different elemental creatures

[00:45:40] [SPEAKER_04]: and like there's a fire one

[00:45:42] [SPEAKER_04]: and they have, you could evolve them like Pokemon.

[00:45:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Like they have like three different stages.

[00:45:46] [SPEAKER_04]: It was just absolutely so cool

[00:45:48] [SPEAKER_04]: and they have all these different cool animations

[00:45:50] [SPEAKER_04]: and then you had a vampire who was like a wrestler

[00:45:53] [SPEAKER_04]: and he had like a big locker

[00:45:55] [SPEAKER_04]: that he would bash people with.

[00:45:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:45:57] [SPEAKER_04]: A locker?

[00:45:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah it was like, it was such a kooky game.

[00:46:01] [SPEAKER_04]: You have a guy named Geppetto,

[00:46:02] [SPEAKER_04]: remember Geppetto Kelv?

[00:46:03] [SPEAKER_04]: The pup.

[00:46:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Geppetto.

[00:46:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:46:06] [SPEAKER_04]: He had a little doll that he would use.

[00:46:08] [SPEAKER_05]: It just.

[00:46:08] [SPEAKER_05]: What the fuck dude.

[00:46:09] [SPEAKER_05]: That's cool.

[00:46:10] [SPEAKER_05]: That's so cool.

[00:46:11] [SPEAKER_04]: You had a chick that would throw like tarot cards

[00:46:14] [SPEAKER_04]: and there was like an RNG element to her

[00:46:15] [SPEAKER_04]: and stuff like that.

[00:46:16] [SPEAKER_04]: It was really, really freaking cool.

[00:46:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I recommend.

[00:46:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Who was this developed by?

[00:46:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I want to say Midway.

[00:46:22] [SPEAKER_04]: It was Midway who developed it.

[00:46:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Midway?

[00:46:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, rip.

[00:46:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it is Midway for sure.

[00:46:27] [SPEAKER_07]: What the fuck?

[00:46:28] [SPEAKER_07]: Midway developed it or did they publish?

[00:46:30] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh wait, wait, developed by Nautilus.

[00:46:31] [SPEAKER_06]: It was published by Midway.

[00:46:33] [SPEAKER_06]: It was published by Midway.

[00:46:34] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, yeah, it was published by Midway.

[00:46:36] Nautilus.

[00:46:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I don't even know who.

[00:46:38] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh yeah, they did Koudelka.

[00:46:40] [SPEAKER_06]: They did Fasile on the-

[00:46:42] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh yeah, because isn't-

[00:46:44] [SPEAKER_07]: Koudelka is like the prequel to all the shit in this.

[00:46:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it was a PS1 game right?

[00:46:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Yup.

[00:46:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, never played that one.

[00:46:53] [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, that one holds a special place in my heart

[00:46:55] [SPEAKER_04]: but it's just that whole series.

[00:46:57] [SPEAKER_07]: It's definitely on my back list of-

[00:46:59] [SPEAKER_07]: You fucking love that dude.

[00:47:00] [SPEAKER_07]: It's on my back list of stuff.

[00:47:01] [SPEAKER_07]: I've only ever thrown it on

[00:47:04] [SPEAKER_07]: but I've never actually sat down and been like,

[00:47:06] [SPEAKER_07]: okay, I'm gonna play through this now

[00:47:07] [SPEAKER_07]: and I've been wanting to.

[00:47:10] [SPEAKER_04]: It aged very gracefully, I will say that.

[00:47:13] [SPEAKER_04]: You can pick it up and it's very playable.

[00:47:16] [SPEAKER_04]: So-

[00:47:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh yeah.

[00:47:17] [SPEAKER_06]: Another fucking, well I guess they probably

[00:47:20] [SPEAKER_06]: can't remaster it now because Midway is super dead

[00:47:23] [SPEAKER_06]: but man, I would love to see at least

[00:47:25] [SPEAKER_06]: the first two games brought to modern consoles, man.

[00:47:28] [SPEAKER_06]: God damn it, that'd be so fucking cool

[00:47:30] [SPEAKER_06]: because they're expensive as shit now.

[00:47:32] [SPEAKER_06]: Super expensive.

[00:47:33] [SPEAKER_04]: 80 bucks I think to purchase it I think

[00:47:36] [SPEAKER_04]: or something on eBay.

[00:47:37] [SPEAKER_07]: It's only like more you can go to CD Romance

[00:47:39] [SPEAKER_07]: and you can get it there.

[00:47:41] [SPEAKER_07]: That's true.

[00:47:42] [SPEAKER_07]: That's how I did it.

[00:47:43] [SPEAKER_06]: A boy Vim, we'll get on Vim's later.

[00:47:46] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I got that PS2 with that fat hard drive

[00:47:49] [SPEAKER_07]: thrown in there, I got all the games.

[00:47:51] [SPEAKER_07]: The fat PS2 with the fat hard drive.

[00:47:53] [SPEAKER_07]: I got the Bert Kreischer PS2 and-

[00:47:56] [SPEAKER_06]: You got Bert Kreischer like shirtless

[00:47:59] [SPEAKER_06]: like on his big sticker or like a skin on your PS2.

[00:48:02] [SPEAKER_06]: He's just smoking meth out of a fucking broken light bulb.

[00:48:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Drinking Kool-Aid.

[00:48:08] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah dude.

[00:48:10] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, a liter of it.

[00:48:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah exactly.

[00:48:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Did you watch that podcast episode with two of them?

[00:48:16] [SPEAKER_04]: With what's his name, Tom Sigura and-

[00:48:18] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, Tom and Bert.

[00:48:19] [SPEAKER_07]: He's like is that fucking Kool-Aid?

[00:48:21] [SPEAKER_07]: And he's like yeah, it's Kool-Aid.

[00:48:22] [SPEAKER_07]: And there's like a fucking,

[00:48:24] [SPEAKER_07]: it's like a bubba, like a giant jug of it.

[00:48:26] [SPEAKER_07]: And he's like is that all Kool-Aid?

[00:48:28] [SPEAKER_07]: And he's like yeah, I have one of these every day.

[00:48:31] [SPEAKER_07]: And he's like you drink three liters of Kool-Aid a day?

[00:48:35] [SPEAKER_07]: And he's like yeah, it's fine, it's just water.

[00:48:36] [SPEAKER_07]: And he's like no it's not.

[00:48:39] [SPEAKER_06]: So is he just drinking a sugarless

[00:48:40] [SPEAKER_06]: or it's like tangy or fucking sour?

[00:48:42] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh yeah, Tom's like dude this is bad you know that right?

[00:48:45] [SPEAKER_07]: Like you're drinking like a fucking gallon of Kool-Aid

[00:48:48] [SPEAKER_07]: a day and he's like fucking healthy.

[00:48:51] [SPEAKER_04]: It's just Kool-Aid, yeah yeah yeah.

[00:48:52] [SPEAKER_04]: It's the gay, you know Kool-Aid

[00:48:53] [SPEAKER_04]: it's just sugar water, that's all it is is sugar.

[00:48:55] [SPEAKER_06]: Dude yeah, you put as much fucking sugar

[00:48:57] [SPEAKER_06]: as you want in that shit, Jesus Christ.

[00:49:00] [SPEAKER_06]: Who's going next?

[00:49:01] [SPEAKER_06]: Aaron, you're going next.

[00:49:03] [SPEAKER_06]: Sweet man, okay, okay, okay.

[00:49:05] [SPEAKER_06]: I've got a, I have three, fuck it.

[00:49:10] [SPEAKER_06]: Have any of you played Arcana on the SNES?

[00:49:14] [SPEAKER_03]: No, I had not played Arcana.

[00:49:16] [SPEAKER_03]: You went way back, I like that.

[00:49:18] [SPEAKER_07]: Hal made that, which is weird for Hal.

[00:49:22] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, so I love me a good first person dungeon crawler

[00:49:27] [SPEAKER_06]: and Arcana is like, it's fucking slow

[00:49:30] [SPEAKER_06]: but it's pretty cool.

[00:49:32] [SPEAKER_06]: So like the enemies and your teammates

[00:49:34] [SPEAKER_06]: they're all represented by cards

[00:49:36] [SPEAKER_06]: and it's just like pretty much any dungeon crawler.

[00:49:39] [SPEAKER_06]: Man, you got your main character Rooks

[00:49:40] [SPEAKER_06]: or Rook or whatever, he's just your sword master

[00:49:44] [SPEAKER_06]: sword fighter boy.

[00:49:46] [SPEAKER_06]: Tifa, she's just a healer and buffer

[00:49:48] [SPEAKER_06]: you get other characters later on too

[00:49:50] [SPEAKER_06]: but there's that one slot in your top right

[00:49:53] [SPEAKER_06]: that's constantly like rotating

[00:49:55] [SPEAKER_06]: between different elementals.

[00:49:56] [SPEAKER_06]: Like you start off with a wind one

[00:49:59] [SPEAKER_06]: and then it'll go to earth after a while

[00:50:01] [SPEAKER_06]: and then fire and then what did I leave out, water?

[00:50:06] [SPEAKER_06]: And you just going through dungeons

[00:50:09] [SPEAKER_06]: trying to find the boss at the end

[00:50:10] [SPEAKER_06]: but yeah along the way you're fighting enemies

[00:50:13] [SPEAKER_06]: you pick up chests and all that shit.

[00:50:16] [SPEAKER_06]: It's kind of a pain in the ass at times

[00:50:17] [SPEAKER_06]: because even when you're not even moving a space

[00:50:22] [SPEAKER_06]: or anything, if you're just kind of turning

[00:50:23] [SPEAKER_06]: to the left just to look at the walls

[00:50:26] [SPEAKER_06]: or anything around you, you can get into a battle

[00:50:29] [SPEAKER_06]: which is fucking annoying

[00:50:30] [SPEAKER_06]: and there's no way to just like move backward

[00:50:32] [SPEAKER_06]: without completely turning around

[00:50:34] [SPEAKER_06]: so when you're turning in like two fucking directions

[00:50:37] [SPEAKER_06]: you might get attacked and go into a battle

[00:50:40] [SPEAKER_06]: but other than that, yeah it's pretty cool.

[00:50:42] [SPEAKER_06]: The graphics are awesome, the music is pretty cool.

[00:50:46] [SPEAKER_06]: Everything just looks sweet

[00:50:47] [SPEAKER_06]: and it's most of the time fun to play.

[00:50:51] [SPEAKER_04]: It actually looks really cool

[00:50:53] [SPEAKER_04]: like for the time it actually looks

[00:50:54] [SPEAKER_04]: like a really sick game

[00:50:55] [SPEAKER_04]: and I vaguely remember looking at the art

[00:50:58] [SPEAKER_04]: for it in the videos.

[00:51:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I vaguely remember it as a kid seeing that.

[00:51:03] [SPEAKER_06]: The box art is so fucking, in the US

[00:51:06] [SPEAKER_06]: the box art is just, it's just stupid.

[00:51:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, just like card sword yeah.

[00:51:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Card sword.

[00:51:13] [SPEAKER_06]: But the Super Famicom art though,

[00:51:15] [SPEAKER_06]: holy shit that shit's pretty cool.

[00:51:16] [SPEAKER_06]: Holy shit that is cool.

[00:51:19] [SPEAKER_07]: Anime is fuck.

[00:51:20] [SPEAKER_07]: But yeah also very strange for HAL, right?

[00:51:24] [SPEAKER_07]: Like HAL Laboratory made this which is like

[00:51:27] [SPEAKER_07]: you know them for Kirby mostly.

[00:51:29] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, Kirby and Smash Bros.

[00:51:31] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah. Kirby and Smash Bros like they

[00:51:33] [SPEAKER_07]: and then they did that like

[00:51:35] [SPEAKER_07]: can't get much weirder than that or-

[00:51:36] [SPEAKER_04]: The reason why they don't do that

[00:51:38] [SPEAKER_04]: they didn't do that much longer after that right?

[00:51:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I think there's only one arcana

[00:51:42] [SPEAKER_04]: or there are multiple.

[00:51:43] [SPEAKER_04]: I think there's just the one.

[00:51:44] [SPEAKER_07]: Aaron, when do you, when you pass the ball over to me?

[00:51:47] [SPEAKER_07]: Pass the ball bud.

[00:51:48] [SPEAKER_07]: Okay. Throw the ball over this way.

[00:51:49] [SPEAKER_06]: Dribble dribble, there you go.

[00:51:52] [SPEAKER_06]: Good catch it.

[00:51:53] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm not doing that shit.

[00:51:54] [SPEAKER_07]: Okay.

[00:51:58] [SPEAKER_07]: So you were talking about arcana.

[00:52:02] [SPEAKER_07]: HAL Laboratory made this RPG.

[00:52:04] [SPEAKER_07]: Like what the fuck HAL, what are you doing?

[00:52:06] [SPEAKER_06]: It's Earthbound right?

[00:52:08] [SPEAKER_07]: Nope.

[00:52:09] [SPEAKER_07]: On the Super Nintendo HAL made that one.

[00:52:14] [SPEAKER_07]: They made two RPGs.

[00:52:15] [SPEAKER_07]: Their second RPG is called Alkahest

[00:52:18] [SPEAKER_07]: and it was like an action RPG

[00:52:23] [SPEAKER_07]: and it reminded me a lot of like illusion of Gaia.

[00:52:26] [SPEAKER_07]: I'll throw you guys a link to the Wikipedia thing here

[00:52:28] [SPEAKER_07]: real quick if you don't have it already in the chat

[00:52:30] [SPEAKER_07]: but it's, it's a pretty-

[00:52:32] [SPEAKER_06]: Like the smiley face too.

[00:52:36] [SPEAKER_06]: Hey.

[00:52:37] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[00:52:39] [SPEAKER_07]: And yeah so hey you guys like Awada, you know

[00:52:43] [SPEAKER_07]: RIP Awada from Nintendo.

[00:52:45] [SPEAKER_07]: He was the producer of this game.

[00:52:48] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh fuck I see that now.

[00:52:49] [SPEAKER_06]: Holy shit.

[00:52:52] [SPEAKER_07]: Whoa.

[00:52:52] [SPEAKER_07]: This looks so cool.

[00:52:54] [SPEAKER_07]: Cause it is cool, it's very cool

[00:52:56] [SPEAKER_07]: and it's like not a huge commitment either.

[00:52:59] [SPEAKER_07]: It's I don't know like not that long

[00:53:00] [SPEAKER_07]: like if I check how long to beat Alkahest.

[00:53:06] [SPEAKER_07]: It is five and a half hours.

[00:53:08] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh my god.

[00:53:09] [SPEAKER_07]: That's a pretty-

[00:53:09] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[00:53:10] [SPEAKER_06]: You said five hours that's it?

[00:53:12] [SPEAKER_07]: Five and a half that's like May six to seven

[00:53:16] [SPEAKER_07]: if you wanna like yeah.

[00:53:18] [SPEAKER_07]: That's the thing right like you know

[00:53:20] [SPEAKER_07]: when people are like oh well that's five hours

[00:53:22] [SPEAKER_07]: that's not an RPG.

[00:53:24] [SPEAKER_07]: Bullshit it's not an RPG.

[00:53:25] [SPEAKER_07]: It's got all the elements of an RPG

[00:53:27] [SPEAKER_07]: and if you don't believe me

[00:53:28] [SPEAKER_07]: then just reference back to the episode

[00:53:30] [SPEAKER_07]: that we did with Quest 64 Mike.

[00:53:32] [SPEAKER_07]: He'll tell you that pretty much fucking everything

[00:53:33] [SPEAKER_07]: is an RPG.

[00:53:33] [SPEAKER_06]: Hit up our boy Mike yeah.

[00:53:36] [SPEAKER_07]: Grand Theft Auto San Andreas is an RPG.

[00:53:39] [SPEAKER_07]: It's an RPG.

[00:53:41] [SPEAKER_07]: Jesus Christ.

[00:53:43] [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like we had that conversation with someone too.

[00:53:45] [SPEAKER_04]: We did have the same exact conversation with someone.

[00:53:47] [SPEAKER_04]: And we're all like is this an RPG?

[00:53:48] [SPEAKER_04]: He's like no.

[00:53:49] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm like well isn't everything an RPG?

[00:53:51] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm like shut up.

[00:53:52] [SPEAKER_06]: I hate that fucking argument dude.

[00:53:53] [SPEAKER_00]: It's a technically you played the role of fucking anybody

[00:53:57] [SPEAKER_00]: play the fucking role of Maury.

[00:53:59] [SPEAKER_07]: You guys ever played that RPG Frogger?

[00:54:03] [SPEAKER_07]: Where you take on the role of a frog

[00:54:05] [SPEAKER_07]: just living his best life.

[00:54:07] [SPEAKER_07]: Just doing his best and trying to get across the road

[00:54:11] [SPEAKER_07]: and you level up by not dying.

[00:54:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Stupid I hate that argument.

[00:54:16] [SPEAKER_05]: I almost got robbed to do a spit take.

[00:54:18] [SPEAKER_05]: Almost there.

[00:54:20] [SPEAKER_05]: Rob are you okay?

[00:54:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm sorry Jerry almost killed you.

[00:54:23] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm okay no it's good.

[00:54:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I spilled enough beer on this desk.

[00:54:26] [SPEAKER_07]: Poor dear friend Robert Zombie over here.

[00:54:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh God.

[00:54:32] [SPEAKER_04]: What are you drinking Rob?

[00:54:33] [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah.

[00:54:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Le Guinier's IPA.

[00:54:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Or Le Guinitas.

[00:54:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I like to call it Le Guinitas

[00:54:39] [SPEAKER_04]: because it's more fun than Le Guinies.

[00:54:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh what are you drinking?

[00:54:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh.

[00:54:41] [SPEAKER_04]: What is this shit?

[00:54:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Ooh Def Wave.

[00:54:46] [SPEAKER_06]: Ooh a light logger.

[00:54:47] [SPEAKER_06]: Hell yeah.

[00:54:49] [SPEAKER_07]: This is just left over from the weekend.

[00:54:52] [SPEAKER_07]: I am not drinking right now because I have

[00:54:55] [SPEAKER_07]: a lot of sane medication and that would not be fun.

[00:54:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Or would it be fun for a little while?

[00:55:01] [SPEAKER_07]: I'd be down here like this the whole time

[00:55:02] [SPEAKER_07]: and everyone's gonna be like Alka Hest.

[00:55:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Next.

[00:55:07] [SPEAKER_04]: He'd be drooling a little bit.

[00:55:10] [SPEAKER_06]: Have we all done two so far?

[00:55:13] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.

[00:55:14] [SPEAKER_06]: Yes.

[00:55:14] [SPEAKER_06]: I done did two.

[00:55:16] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.

[00:55:17] [SPEAKER_06]: Should we take an ad break?

[00:55:18] [SPEAKER_07]: Let's ask the producers.

[00:55:19] [SPEAKER_07]: Producers should we take an ad break?

[00:55:21] [SPEAKER_06]: They'd like shake the magic eight ball.

[00:55:23] [SPEAKER_06]: Go fuck yourself.

[00:55:26] [SPEAKER_06]: Which means yes.

[00:55:27] [SPEAKER_06]: Take it away Mike Walden.

[00:55:29] [SPEAKER_06]: We'll be right back.

[00:57:41] [SPEAKER_06]: Even what they call high voltage

[00:57:42] [SPEAKER_06]: which is extra strength, extra caffeine

[00:57:45] [SPEAKER_06]: but they have all sorts of other awesome

[00:57:48] [SPEAKER_06]: kind of out-of-the-box flavors.

[00:57:49] [SPEAKER_06]: They've got ones like cotton candy, maple bacon

[00:57:53] [SPEAKER_06]: and even mint chocolate chip ice cream

[00:57:55] [SPEAKER_06]: and they're always coming up with new crossover flavors

[00:57:59] [SPEAKER_06]: like they've done a bunch for Nightmare Before Christmas,

[00:58:05] [SPEAKER_06]: and they're also coming up

[00:58:07] [SPEAKER_06]: with new seasonal flavors all the time.

[00:59:18] [SPEAKER_06]: Hey Jerry.

[00:59:20] [SPEAKER_07]: Yes Aaron.

[00:59:21] [SPEAKER_06]: When it comes to home security,

[00:59:23] [SPEAKER_06]: how serious are you?

[00:59:25] [SPEAKER_06]: Like yeah, how secure is your home, I should ask.

[00:59:30] [SPEAKER_07]: Pretty fucking secure Aaron.

[00:59:31] [SPEAKER_07]: I can see the pores on any invaders face.

[00:59:37] [SPEAKER_06]: What if I were to tell you,

[00:59:39] [SPEAKER_06]: the sponsor of this show could make your home

[00:59:42] [SPEAKER_06]: even more secure.

[00:59:43] [SPEAKER_06]: Introducing, I haven't come up with a name for them yet

[00:59:45] [SPEAKER_06]: but basically we've got,

[00:59:47] [SPEAKER_06]: they'll secure your home even more

[00:59:49] [SPEAKER_06]: with little like home alone

[00:59:51] [SPEAKER_06]: and like saw traps all over your house.

[00:59:53] [SPEAKER_06]: So if an invader even tries to step foot in your home,

[00:59:56] [SPEAKER_06]: bam trap door, they have to reach through

[00:59:59] [SPEAKER_06]: like razor wire and barbed wire and nails and shit

[01:00:02] [SPEAKER_06]: to reach a key in order to escape.

[01:00:04] [SPEAKER_06]: It's borderline torture

[01:00:05] [SPEAKER_06]: but I mean they should have come into your home.

[01:00:08] [SPEAKER_06]: It's your home.

[01:00:09] [SPEAKER_07]: Shouldn't have come,

[01:00:10] [SPEAKER_07]: you came to the wrong fucking town bud.

[01:00:13] [SPEAKER_07]: The wrong side of my house.

[01:00:15] [SPEAKER_07]: Rob's face is very confused.

[01:00:16] [SPEAKER_07]: You're supposed to come in through the side door

[01:00:18] [SPEAKER_07]: but you came in through the front

[01:00:19] [SPEAKER_07]: and now you're gonna learn.

[01:00:22] [SPEAKER_06]: Have you guys ever listened all the way through

[01:00:23] [SPEAKER_06]: an ad break on one of our episodes?

[01:00:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I'm trying to think of a name for this.

[01:00:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, this amazing state of the art security system

[01:00:33] [SPEAKER_04]: that kills you essentially.

[01:00:36] [SPEAKER_06]: Maybe, you can escape.

[01:00:38] [SPEAKER_06]: If you've seen Saw, there is a way to escape

[01:00:40] [SPEAKER_06]: but it's very slim.

[01:00:43] [SPEAKER_06]: It's very slim?

[01:00:44] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay, so you can escape.

[01:00:47] [SPEAKER_02]: There's a chance.

[01:00:48] [SPEAKER_02]: There's still a chance.

[01:00:49] [SPEAKER_06]: So you're saying there's a chance.

[01:00:50] [SPEAKER_04]: So you're saying there's a chance.

[01:00:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Can you tell me the features about this,

[01:00:54] [SPEAKER_04]: the security system?

[01:00:55] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm just gonna call it the security system

[01:00:57] [SPEAKER_04]: because it's the last one you'll ever need.

[01:00:58] [SPEAKER_02]: That's a cool name.

[01:00:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it is the T-H-E-E-E-E-E-E security system.

[01:01:04] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, the...

[01:01:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Like Megan Thee Stallion?

[01:01:06] [SPEAKER_07]: No, fuck her.

[01:01:08] [SPEAKER_07]: If she comes in, I'm fucking chaining her left foot

[01:01:12] [SPEAKER_07]: to a goddamn pipe and I'm gonna be like,

[01:01:14] [SPEAKER_07]: figure it out bitch.

[01:01:15] [SPEAKER_06]: Is it her that does the ochre thing

[01:01:18] [SPEAKER_06]: or is that Cardi B right?

[01:01:21] [SPEAKER_06]: No, it's Cardi B.

[01:01:22] [SPEAKER_07]: Aren't they all the same fucking person?

[01:01:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Who would you rather be trapped in that room with?

[01:01:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Cardi B or with Megan Thee Stallion?

[01:01:29] [SPEAKER_06]: Well, I feel like Megan Thee Stallion would be way quieter.

[01:01:31] [SPEAKER_06]: Like she wouldn't talk as much.

[01:01:34] [SPEAKER_07]: She's already taken a bullet to the foot once

[01:01:36] [SPEAKER_07]: so I'm pretty sure she can get out of this.

[01:01:39] [SPEAKER_06]: Speaking of taking a bullet to the foot,

[01:01:40] [SPEAKER_06]: the home security system,

[01:01:42] [SPEAKER_06]: yeah you can set up one of those cool,

[01:01:43] [SPEAKER_06]: it's like basically just a two by four

[01:01:45] [SPEAKER_06]: strapped to your front door

[01:01:46] [SPEAKER_06]: but it'll have like a sawed off shotgun.

[01:01:49] [SPEAKER_06]: Like right there, there's like a little pee pole

[01:01:51] [SPEAKER_06]: in your door that's actually pee-pulled.

[01:01:52] [SPEAKER_06]: But it doesn't shoot bullets, folks.

[01:01:53] [SPEAKER_07]: We have to make sure that we,

[01:01:55] [SPEAKER_07]: Aaron remember they said,

[01:01:57] [SPEAKER_07]: we have to make sure we tell people

[01:01:59] [SPEAKER_07]: this does not kill people immediately.

[01:02:02] [SPEAKER_07]: It could.

[01:02:03] [SPEAKER_07]: It'll just damn near kill them.

[01:02:05] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, it'll shoot you in the butt.

[01:02:05] [SPEAKER_06]: That's the slogan, it'll damn near kill them.

[01:02:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Does the security system come with a medical kit

[01:02:13] [SPEAKER_04]: that's somewhere far away

[01:02:14] [SPEAKER_04]: but they can still reach with if they're lucky enough?

[01:02:16] [SPEAKER_06]: Absolutely.

[01:02:17] [SPEAKER_06]: In a first, at the end of,

[01:02:21] [SPEAKER_06]: we'll say the home, not trap sorry,

[01:02:23] [SPEAKER_06]: the home security features.

[01:02:26] [SPEAKER_06]: They'll, you'll see like an old timey,

[01:02:28] [SPEAKER_06]: like 1950s like aluminum first aid kit

[01:02:32] [SPEAKER_06]: that can bear, you get to like really pry it open

[01:02:35] [SPEAKER_06]: with a screwdriver because it's really, really rusty.

[01:02:38] [SPEAKER_06]: But there's a key in there.

[01:02:39] [SPEAKER_06]: Anything they could ever need like a pair of pliers

[01:02:43] [SPEAKER_06]: to dig bullet, sorry not bullets.

[01:02:48] [SPEAKER_06]: Marbles, quarters, yeah bullets.

[01:02:51] [SPEAKER_06]: Anything they might need to heal their wounds,

[01:02:57] [SPEAKER_06]: they'll find it in there.

[01:02:59] [SPEAKER_06]: They're non-fatal wounds, right Aaron?

[01:03:03] [SPEAKER_06]: There we go.

[01:03:04] [SPEAKER_06]: Yep, damn near kill them.

[01:03:06] [SPEAKER_06]: Rectum nearly killed them.

[01:03:08] [SPEAKER_06]: Anyway.

[01:03:08] [SPEAKER_07]: Speaking about rectums, the DLC comes with.

[01:03:11] [SPEAKER_07]: Stop with the DLC.

[01:03:13] [SPEAKER_07]: The DLC is just basically you turn your whole house

[01:03:16] [SPEAKER_07]: into an escape room.

[01:03:19] [SPEAKER_07]: And that's it.

[01:03:21] [SPEAKER_07]: You're like, hey dudes,

[01:03:22] [SPEAKER_07]: you wanna come over to my place for a barbecue?

[01:03:25] [SPEAKER_07]: Ha, you're fucking trapped.

[01:03:26] [SPEAKER_07]: Now figure it out bitches.

[01:03:28] [SPEAKER_07]: Find the way out to the backyard and you grill the steaks.

[01:03:31] [SPEAKER_07]: And if they can't then I guess they can die or something.

[01:03:34] [SPEAKER_07]: I don't know.

[01:03:35] [SPEAKER_06]: You're like, hey there Mr. Home Invader,

[01:03:36] [SPEAKER_06]: like you've got your hands up

[01:03:37] [SPEAKER_06]: because he's got like a fucking gun pointed at you.

[01:03:40] [SPEAKER_06]: Like bro, my wallet is literally like in that room.

[01:03:42] [SPEAKER_06]: If you go through that big oak door,

[01:03:44] [SPEAKER_06]: my wallet is in there and you can have it.

[01:03:46] [SPEAKER_06]: And you just kind of lead him over there,

[01:03:47] [SPEAKER_06]: open the door for him

[01:03:48] [SPEAKER_06]: and then shove him in and close the door real fast

[01:03:50] [SPEAKER_06]: and close it.

[01:03:51] [SPEAKER_06]: You're like, ha ha.

[01:03:51] [SPEAKER_06]: Now you gotta solve a series of very deep intricate puzzles

[01:03:56] [SPEAKER_06]: in order to escape.

[01:03:57] [SPEAKER_06]: And if you don't, not, does that mean?

[01:04:00] [SPEAKER_06]: Your only hint is written on the wall

[01:04:01] [SPEAKER_07]: and it just says Steve is suffering.

[01:04:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Jesus Christ.

[01:04:10] [SPEAKER_04]: No.

[01:04:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Home Invader suffering.

[01:04:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Did you tell them about the exclusive package

[01:04:13] [SPEAKER_04]: where if you love the original Resident Evil movie

[01:04:17] [SPEAKER_04]: where they're in the room

[01:04:18] [SPEAKER_04]: where there's a bunch of laser beams

[01:04:20] [SPEAKER_04]: and these laser beams are not lethal.

[01:04:22] [SPEAKER_04]: They're not lethal at all.

[01:04:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Not even a little bit.

[01:04:25] [SPEAKER_06]: They might singe your skin

[01:04:27] [SPEAKER_06]: and maybe a little bit of your body hair

[01:04:29] [SPEAKER_06]: but they won't kill you.

[01:04:30] [SPEAKER_07]: They definitely will not chop you in half.

[01:04:32] [SPEAKER_07]: Sorry, go ahead.

[01:04:32] [SPEAKER_07]: 100% will not do that.

[01:04:33] [SPEAKER_07]: Go ahead, Rob.

[01:04:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Is it 100% guaranteed

[01:04:35] [SPEAKER_04]: that they will not chop you in half

[01:04:36] [SPEAKER_04]: because I mean, I'm kind of on the fence

[01:04:39] [SPEAKER_04]: of purchasing this thing

[01:04:39] [SPEAKER_04]: because you guys are doing such a great job with,

[01:04:41] [SPEAKER_04]: you know.

[01:04:42] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, Rob, it's a 99.99% chance

[01:04:45] [SPEAKER_07]: that they will not.

[01:04:48] [SPEAKER_07]: They won't die.

[01:04:52] [SPEAKER_07]: Got it.

[01:04:54] [SPEAKER_06]: It's just like how those fucking hand sanitizers

[01:04:57] [SPEAKER_06]: will be like, oh, we killed 99.99% of germs

[01:05:00] [SPEAKER_06]: but it's like, okay, so one could definitely slip past

[01:05:02] [SPEAKER_06]: the fucking Johnson and Johnson goalie.

[01:05:04] [SPEAKER_07]: Now I'm not taking that opportunity.

[01:05:05] [SPEAKER_07]: And then to that argument,

[01:05:05] [SPEAKER_07]: you just start playing 99 Red Balloons

[01:05:07] [SPEAKER_07]: and you're like, look, all right.

[01:05:09] [SPEAKER_07]: You can't argue with a song, 99 Red Balloons.

[01:05:11] [SPEAKER_07]: It's a 99% chance.

[01:05:13] [SPEAKER_06]: There you go.

[01:05:13] [SPEAKER_06]: Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep.

[01:05:15] [SPEAKER_06]: That's just in.

[01:05:16] [SPEAKER_06]: There's, if you call now, if you order now,

[01:05:22] [SPEAKER_06]: there's a free gift we'll throw in as well too.

[01:05:25] [SPEAKER_06]: The, it's the, oh fuck, what am I trying to,

[01:05:29] [SPEAKER_06]: the, it's a butterfly knife.

[01:05:30] [SPEAKER_06]: I was trying to think of like a funny way

[01:05:32] [SPEAKER_06]: to go around it, but it's a butterfly knife.

[01:05:33] [SPEAKER_06]: So if you can be like, hey there home invader.

[01:05:35] [SPEAKER_07]: It's a knife shaped like a butterfly, right?

[01:05:37] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, yep, exactly.

[01:05:38] [SPEAKER_06]: Hey there Mr. Home Invader, check out this butterfly.

[01:05:40] [SPEAKER_06]: And then you just kind of get him with the,

[01:05:42] [SPEAKER_06]: and the kidney real fast.

[01:05:44] [SPEAKER_07]: And the kidney.

[01:05:45] [SPEAKER_07]: What is this?

[01:05:47] [SPEAKER_07]: Hello, I got, I got analog pocket on the phone.

[01:05:51] [SPEAKER_07]: Apparently they're going to make their own DLC where

[01:05:55] [SPEAKER_07]: you just, you just invite people over

[01:05:57] [SPEAKER_07]: and you price gouge them until they die.

[01:06:01] [SPEAKER_07]: And you travel to your house

[01:06:02] [SPEAKER_07]: and you're just like, just keep giving me money bro.

[01:06:05] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, it's just.

[01:06:07] [SPEAKER_04]: How long is the subscription term for?

[01:06:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause I'm sure you have to pay for subscription

[01:06:11] [SPEAKER_04]: cause they're going to go up against ring.

[01:06:13] [SPEAKER_04]: So like.

[01:06:13] [SPEAKER_06]: They break into your home, try to take your money

[01:06:16] [SPEAKER_06]: and you trap them and you're like,

[01:06:18] [SPEAKER_06]: give me all your fucking money and I'll let you go.

[01:06:21] [SPEAKER_06]: Just making a profit off of home invasion.

[01:06:31] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.

[01:06:33] [SPEAKER_06]: Thanks for sponsoring us.

[01:06:35] [SPEAKER_06]: The home secured, okurr.

[01:06:37] [SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.

[01:06:38] [SPEAKER_06]: I refuse to do the tongue roll.

[01:06:40] [SPEAKER_06]: Thanks Cardi B for sponsoring this episode.

[01:06:43] [SPEAKER_02]: You have my money.

[01:06:44] [SPEAKER_07]: Skirt, skirt, skirt.

[01:06:45] Skirt.

[01:07:39] [SPEAKER_06]: Hey, we're back.

[01:07:41] [SPEAKER_06]: Jerry, we're back.

[01:07:43] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm more sure.

[01:07:45] [SPEAKER_06]: Who, who went last?

[01:07:46] [SPEAKER_06]: Was it Jerry?

[01:07:47] [SPEAKER_07]: It was me with Alcast.

[01:07:49] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay. Pick, pick, pick.

[01:07:55] [SPEAKER_07]: Rob.

[01:07:56] [SPEAKER_04]: This is a game that's a little more recent.

[01:08:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I personally have never played it

[01:08:02] [SPEAKER_04]: but it always looked really bad ass

[01:08:05] [SPEAKER_04]: but I heard the game was ass.

[01:08:07] Oh.

[01:08:09] [SPEAKER_04]: It was for PS3.

[01:08:10] [SPEAKER_04]: It was, I believe it was close to when PS3 first came out.

[01:08:14] [SPEAKER_04]: White Knight Chronicles.

[01:08:15] [SPEAKER_04]: No way!

[01:08:17] [SPEAKER_07]: Are you serious?

[01:08:18] [SPEAKER_02]: White Knight Chronicles.

[01:08:19] [SPEAKER_07]: That's a level five game.

[01:08:20] [SPEAKER_07]: I have the same one.

[01:08:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Level five is so funny.

[01:08:23] [SPEAKER_07]: Yep, that's a level five game.

[01:08:25] [SPEAKER_04]: That's, holy shit.

[01:08:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Tell me that game doesn't look super bad ass.

[01:08:31] [SPEAKER_04]: That cover looks really fucking cool.

[01:08:33] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm looking at the combat.

[01:08:34] [SPEAKER_07]: It's basically like, this dude's fighting a fucking bear.

[01:08:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I've always wanted to fight him.

[01:08:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Came out in December 25th.

[01:08:41] [SPEAKER_04]: It came out on Christmas.

[01:08:43] [SPEAKER_04]: This game came out on Christmas day.

[01:08:44] [SPEAKER_02]: In Japan. 2008.

[01:08:46] [SPEAKER_02]: But it came out later in the US.

[01:08:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[01:08:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Here's the thing though, that game,

[01:08:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I remember watching it during an E3 press conference

[01:08:56] [SPEAKER_02]: and it looked so fucking cool.

[01:08:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I think it was one of the games

[01:09:00] [SPEAKER_02]: that were showcased for the PS3.

[01:09:03] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, oh my God, this game looks fucking,

[01:09:05] [SPEAKER_02]: this is next gen.

[01:09:06] [SPEAKER_02]: We're here, we made it.

[01:09:07] [SPEAKER_02]: We fucking did it.

[01:09:08] [SPEAKER_07]: We did it boys.

[01:09:10] [SPEAKER_07]: We did it boys.

[01:09:12] [SPEAKER_02]: It just completely flopped.

[01:09:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Go ahead Rob, sorry.

[01:09:15] [SPEAKER_04]: No, I was gonna say, if you YouTube this game,

[01:09:17] [SPEAKER_04]: if you type in White Knight Chronicles on YouTube,

[01:09:19] [SPEAKER_04]: the first three hits of this game

[01:09:21] [SPEAKER_04]: is what the hell happened to White Knight Chronicles?

[01:09:25] [SPEAKER_04]: That is the three YouTube videos you get for the titles.

[01:09:29] [SPEAKER_04]: So, the game just, again, looks so great.

[01:09:35] [SPEAKER_04]: But it got a 5.1 out of 10 on IGN at the time.

[01:09:39] [SPEAKER_04]: And I can kind of see why,

[01:09:42] [SPEAKER_04]: because the character models look absolutely horrible.

[01:09:45] [SPEAKER_07]: So here's a funny thing though.

[01:09:48] [SPEAKER_07]: Recently, I've kind of like been on this journey

[01:09:51] [SPEAKER_07]: to create the ultimate setup

[01:09:53] [SPEAKER_07]: where I have like each console loaded up

[01:09:57] [SPEAKER_07]: with all the games.

[01:09:59] [SPEAKER_07]: PS3 is one of those.

[01:10:00] [SPEAKER_07]: And among the PS3 games that I've checked out,

[01:10:05] [SPEAKER_07]: there's been a lot of times where I've noticed that

[01:10:08] [SPEAKER_07]: games that got reviewed really poorly at a time.

[01:10:12] [SPEAKER_07]: When you think about PS3,

[01:10:14] [SPEAKER_07]: there's these fucking titans of gaming happening

[01:10:18] [SPEAKER_07]: on the PS3, like Uncharted and Gears of War.

[01:10:23] [SPEAKER_07]: They were all starting this third person thing

[01:10:25] [SPEAKER_07]: that everybody wanted to fucking copycat.

[01:10:28] [SPEAKER_07]: I found that a lot of PS3 RPGs were like,

[01:10:34] [SPEAKER_07]: kind of trying to do some weird shit

[01:10:35] [SPEAKER_07]: because they were like, well, what do we do now?

[01:10:38] [SPEAKER_07]: Like we were on PS2 and we were doing that stuff.

[01:10:40] [SPEAKER_07]: But like now that we're transitioning over to PS3,

[01:10:42] [SPEAKER_07]: like what can we do with this thing?

[01:10:44] [SPEAKER_07]: And I feel like there's a lot of games

[01:10:46] [SPEAKER_07]: that try to do some weird shit

[01:10:47] [SPEAKER_07]: and they got shit on for that.

[01:10:49] [SPEAKER_07]: And I feel like it was like of a time

[01:10:53] [SPEAKER_07]: that was specifically catering to one need.

[01:10:58] [SPEAKER_07]: And if a game didn't have the fucking piss filter

[01:11:00] [SPEAKER_07]: and that just made everything look brown,

[01:11:02] [SPEAKER_07]: like Fallout and Gears of War, it was like,

[01:11:06] [SPEAKER_07]: the Resistance Fallen Man had the piss filter

[01:11:08] [SPEAKER_01]: and it was a PS3 game.

[01:11:09] [SPEAKER_07]: It did, it did.

[01:11:11] [SPEAKER_02]: It really did.

[01:11:14] [SPEAKER_06]: I fucking love that game too.

[01:11:17] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, there's a sequel to this White Knight game?

[01:11:20] [SPEAKER_06]: Fuck, how about that?

[01:11:20] [SPEAKER_06]: That's even worse, dude.

[01:11:22] [SPEAKER_07]: But here's the thing, is it though?

[01:11:24] [SPEAKER_07]: Is it?

[01:11:24] [SPEAKER_07]: Because like I too am guilty of just going,

[01:11:29] [SPEAKER_07]: oh, a game's coming out, IGN, scroll to the bottom.

[01:11:32] [SPEAKER_07]: Look at the number and go, not buying that.

[01:11:35] [SPEAKER_07]: That only got a 6.9.

[01:11:37] [SPEAKER_07]: And like, what?

[01:11:40] [SPEAKER_07]: Like so many people just based

[01:11:42] [SPEAKER_07]: their fucking purchases back then

[01:11:45] [SPEAKER_07]: on IGN's fucking, IGN GameSpot,

[01:11:49] [SPEAKER_07]: like all these guys, I'm guilty of it.

[01:11:51] [SPEAKER_07]: I would do the same thing.

[01:11:52] [SPEAKER_07]: I'd wait for the game to come out, go to IGN,

[01:11:54] [SPEAKER_07]: read the review, not read the review,

[01:11:56] [SPEAKER_07]: scroll to the bottom, see the number and go,

[01:11:58] [SPEAKER_07]: it's not a nine and then trash.

[01:12:00] [SPEAKER_07]: That's not a nine!

[01:12:04] [SPEAKER_06]: I only shoot for tens.

[01:12:05] [SPEAKER_07]: I would love to actually check out this game now

[01:12:10] [SPEAKER_07]: and kind of just take it for what it is

[01:12:13] [SPEAKER_07]: because I've been so fucking disappointed

[01:12:15] [SPEAKER_07]: with current, like the majority of current games,

[01:12:19] [SPEAKER_07]: especially RPGs, that I'm so okay

[01:12:23] [SPEAKER_07]: with something just being okay.

[01:12:26] [SPEAKER_07]: Right.

[01:12:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I think you hit the nail on the head.

[01:12:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Did you know that this game

[01:12:30] [SPEAKER_02]: actually had an online component?

[01:12:32] [SPEAKER_02]: It was called like GeoNet or something

[01:12:34] [SPEAKER_02]: and you can like create your own town.

[01:12:37] [SPEAKER_02]: You can like- Whoa!

[01:12:38] [SPEAKER_03]: What?

[01:12:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Like yeah, engage other people

[01:12:41] [SPEAKER_02]: in like quests with like friends.

[01:12:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Like it was, they tried to do something with this game

[01:12:45] [SPEAKER_02]: and it obviously didn't pan out.

[01:12:48] [SPEAKER_02]: But again, this was a game that I was really rooting for

[01:12:51] [SPEAKER_02]: when I saw it in like the E3 presentation

[01:12:53] [SPEAKER_02]: where like, it's one of those games

[01:12:56] [SPEAKER_02]: where the showcase of it

[01:12:58] [SPEAKER_02]: was not the actual final product.

[01:13:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Right?

[01:13:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause like when you watched it,

[01:13:02] [SPEAKER_02]: you were like, holy shit, this is next gen.

[01:13:04] [SPEAKER_02]: We got swindled like crazy dude.

[01:13:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Like bamboozled if anything.

[01:13:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause like you would watch it

[01:13:09] [SPEAKER_02]: and it would like transition over from like

[01:13:13] [SPEAKER_02]: a cut scene right into battle.

[01:13:14] [SPEAKER_02]: And that was like a big thing back then, right?

[01:13:16] [SPEAKER_02]: But that doesn't look like that's the case

[01:13:19] [SPEAKER_02]: when you're actually playing the final product.

[01:13:21] [SPEAKER_02]: But I remember that vividly watching the E3 presentation.

[01:13:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, holy shit.

[01:13:25] [SPEAKER_02]: You're like transitioning over through like a battle

[01:13:28] [SPEAKER_02]: into like cut scene or something like that.

[01:13:29] [SPEAKER_02]: And it was like the biggest shit for me,

[01:13:31] [SPEAKER_02]: but that doesn't seem to be the case now.

[01:13:36] [SPEAKER_06]: Man, and here I thought that level five

[01:13:38] [SPEAKER_06]: just did not fail.

[01:13:40] [SPEAKER_06]: Like all the Professor Layton's, Yo-Kai watch,

[01:13:43] [SPEAKER_06]: even little battlers experience.

[01:13:44] [SPEAKER_06]: Shout out to that fucking game that nobody played,

[01:13:46] [SPEAKER_06]: but I did all these awesome games.

[01:13:49] [SPEAKER_06]: Even like Dark Cloud.

[01:13:51] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, Dark Cloud.

[01:13:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Dark Cloud too dude, oh my God.

[01:13:53] [SPEAKER_07]: Volley that ball over my way just for one second.

[01:13:55] [SPEAKER_07]: I'll volley it back to you.

[01:13:57] [SPEAKER_07]: Here we go.

[01:13:59] [SPEAKER_07]: Level five made a game on the PS2 called Rogue Galaxy

[01:14:03] [SPEAKER_07]: and let me tell you how fucking good this game is.

[01:14:07] [SPEAKER_07]: I already know things about that game.

[01:14:08] [SPEAKER_06]: That was a good game, yeah.

[01:14:09] [SPEAKER_06]: Those characters are so fucking cool.

[01:14:12] [SPEAKER_07]: So it's no secret that I am obsessed

[01:14:15] [SPEAKER_07]: with Secret of Mana.

[01:14:17] [SPEAKER_07]: And for a long time, I looked for games.

[01:14:20] [SPEAKER_07]: Like I spent so much time like over years,

[01:14:24] [SPEAKER_07]: just like once a quarter,

[01:14:26] [SPEAKER_07]: just like typing into search engines being like,

[01:14:28] [SPEAKER_07]: games that are like Secret of Mana.

[01:14:30] [SPEAKER_07]: And this game came up a whole lot.

[01:14:33] [SPEAKER_07]: And when I finally sat down to play it

[01:14:35] [SPEAKER_07]: and played through it,

[01:14:37] [SPEAKER_07]: it kind of was like what I wanted from a Secret

[01:14:40] [SPEAKER_07]: of Mana game to be in like 3D like that.

[01:14:44] [SPEAKER_07]: Cause you have like a party

[01:14:46] [SPEAKER_07]: where you have your main character and two other characters.

[01:14:49] [SPEAKER_07]: You can swap between them whenever you want.

[01:14:52] [SPEAKER_07]: And there's like equippable armor and stuff.

[01:14:55] [SPEAKER_07]: It was just, it was so fucking good.

[01:14:57] [SPEAKER_07]: And I never hear people talk about this game.

[01:15:00] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[01:15:01] [SPEAKER_07]: Like ever. It's a shame.

[01:15:01] [SPEAKER_07]: And it was so good.

[01:15:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Space Pirates right?

[01:15:04] [SPEAKER_06]: That's what it is? Yeah.

[01:15:06] [SPEAKER_06]: And each character had their own unique melee

[01:15:08] [SPEAKER_06]: and ranged weapon.

[01:15:09] [SPEAKER_06]: Like the main character, Jasper had.

[01:15:12] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.

[01:15:13] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah. He had just like a pistol and a sword.

[01:15:15] [SPEAKER_06]: That fucking dog dude had a machine gun arm

[01:15:18] [SPEAKER_06]: and like an ax.

[01:15:19] [SPEAKER_06]: That's pretty fucking tight.

[01:15:20] [SPEAKER_06]: Super good.

[01:15:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Now let me ask you a question here about Rogue Galaxy.

[01:15:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Did it have the piss filter on it?

[01:15:27] [SPEAKER_04]: The what?

[01:15:28] [SPEAKER_04]: The piss filter.

[01:15:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Was the piss filter on this game?

[01:15:31] [SPEAKER_04]: No piss filter?

[01:15:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Zero piss. Very colorful, very vibrant.

[01:15:33] [SPEAKER_07]: Yep. Very vibrant.

[01:15:34] [SPEAKER_07]: It's almost like cell shaded and like cartoony looking.

[01:15:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[01:15:38] [SPEAKER_07]: Which by the way, fun fact,

[01:15:40] [SPEAKER_07]: I find going back to anything like GameCube PS2 era,

[01:15:45] [SPEAKER_07]: anything cell shaded still fucking looks good to this day.

[01:15:47] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh my God.

[01:15:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. I believe it.

[01:15:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:15:50] [SPEAKER_07]: Play any game you can.

[01:15:51] [SPEAKER_07]: Dude, Wind Waker is like,

[01:15:53] [SPEAKER_07]: I'll fight a motherfucker on this,

[01:15:55] [SPEAKER_07]: but Wind Waker is the best looking Zelda game.

[01:15:58] [SPEAKER_06]: It's awesome man.

[01:15:59] [SPEAKER_06]: It's ageless. I'm not mad at that.

[01:16:00] [SPEAKER_06]: It's actually ageless.

[01:16:01] [SPEAKER_06]: You actually-

[01:16:01] [SPEAKER_07]: It really is.

[01:16:02] [SPEAKER_07]: Like dude, I'd rather throw on or I mean,

[01:16:06] [SPEAKER_07]: not rather, but like I could still throw on

[01:16:08] [SPEAKER_07]: the GameCube version of Wind Waker

[01:16:11] [SPEAKER_07]: and play it in four by three fucking aspect ratio.

[01:16:14] [SPEAKER_07]: And I'm still like, this looks incredible.

[01:16:17] [SPEAKER_07]: Like this-

[01:16:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Where's our fucking remake or remaster for that game?

[01:16:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Honestly man.

[01:16:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I'm waiting on a Switch version.

[01:16:22] [SPEAKER_06]: Fucking honestly.

[01:16:24] [SPEAKER_04]: What's taken them dude?

[01:16:25] [SPEAKER_07]: That and the Twilight Princess one.

[01:16:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but like you can just download it on Cemu

[01:16:31] [SPEAKER_04]: if you want.

[01:16:32] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if it exists anymore,

[01:16:33] [SPEAKER_04]: but you can get it and it works fine.

[01:16:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I was playing on my Steam deck.

[01:16:37] [SPEAKER_07]: That's why I say hack those Wii U's.

[01:16:40] [SPEAKER_07]: Hack those Wii U's.

[01:16:42] [SPEAKER_06]: It's a bitch, but it's worth it

[01:16:44] [SPEAKER_06]: to get them modded and shit man.

[01:16:46] [SPEAKER_06]: Yep.

[01:16:46] [SPEAKER_06]: But whose turn is it by the way?

[01:16:48] [SPEAKER_07]: I'll pass the ball back to Kelvin.

[01:16:50] [SPEAKER_07]: Sorry, I stole that just to talk about level five.

[01:16:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Real quick, I wanna go back to you actually.

[01:16:55] [SPEAKER_02]: You mentioned Seegress of Mana.

[01:16:57] [SPEAKER_02]: You played Vision of Mana as a demo, correct?

[01:16:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I did.

[01:17:01] [SPEAKER_02]: What did you think?

[01:17:01] [SPEAKER_02]: What'd you think?

[01:17:03] [SPEAKER_07]: I was pretty fucking impressed.

[01:17:04] [SPEAKER_07]: I talked to a friend of mine who immediately was like,

[01:17:10] [SPEAKER_07]: I am not impressed by this in the slightest.

[01:17:12] [SPEAKER_07]: And I was like, I don't know dude,

[01:17:14] [SPEAKER_07]: it might be just because I'm fucking really high right now

[01:17:16] [SPEAKER_07]: but I'm fucking, I'm really liking this a lot

[01:17:20] [SPEAKER_07]: cause I see a lot of parallels to the older games.

[01:17:25] [SPEAKER_07]: The one thing I will say that I immediately did,

[01:17:28] [SPEAKER_07]: as soon as I heard words coming

[01:17:30] [SPEAKER_07]: and flopping out of their fucking mouths in English,

[01:17:32] [SPEAKER_07]: I was like, this is not gonna work.

[01:17:36] [SPEAKER_07]: And I did the same thing that I did

[01:17:37] [SPEAKER_07]: with Trials of Mana remake.

[01:17:38] [SPEAKER_07]: I turned those motherfuckers

[01:17:40] [SPEAKER_07]: into Japanese motherfuckers real quick.

[01:17:42] [SPEAKER_06]: Thank God dude.

[01:17:43] [SPEAKER_06]: You can only, he'll talk like this for so long.

[01:17:47] [SPEAKER_06]: God, I hate that fucking-

[01:17:48] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh my God, why did they do that to that character?

[01:17:51] [SPEAKER_07]: I know she talks like that in the game.

[01:17:53] [SPEAKER_07]: They make the little fucking nuances in the text.

[01:17:57] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, but you don't have to fucking do it.

[01:18:00] [SPEAKER_04]: This is not gonna work.

[01:18:01] [SPEAKER_04]: This is not gonna work for us, baby girl.

[01:18:03] [SPEAKER_04]: We're gonna shut you up.

[01:18:05] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, we're gonna put duct tape over your mouth

[01:18:07] [SPEAKER_07]: and you're gonna learn Japanese right now.

[01:18:11] [SPEAKER_06]: Hold still Megan Lee Stanley

[01:18:13] [SPEAKER_06]: and you're learning Japanese.

[01:18:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Now quick question since we're on the subject,

[01:18:18] [SPEAKER_04]: me and Kevin are actually having a discussion about this.

[01:18:19] [SPEAKER_04]: When you watch anime, are you sub people

[01:18:23] [SPEAKER_07]: or are you dub people?

[01:18:25] [SPEAKER_07]: Subs, subs, depends on the anime.

[01:18:29] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm dubby, I'm a dubby.

[01:18:30] [SPEAKER_07]: So when I watched Neon Genesis Evangelion,

[01:18:38] [SPEAKER_07]: I watched the majority of that in English.

[01:18:42] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah same.

[01:18:43] [SPEAKER_07]: And the same thing with Dragon Ball Z.

[01:18:48] [SPEAKER_07]: You have to watch English.

[01:18:49] [SPEAKER_07]: I have a soft spot for Dragon Ball Z in English

[01:18:52] [SPEAKER_07]: because I grew up watching that shit after school.

[01:18:57] [SPEAKER_07]: Toonami.

[01:18:58] [SPEAKER_07]: Plus it's so good.

[01:18:59] [SPEAKER_07]: In Canada we had YTV so it used to come on,

[01:19:02] [SPEAKER_07]: it was like Saturdays at three or every day at three

[01:19:05] [SPEAKER_07]: at YTV.

[01:19:06] [SPEAKER_07]: It was a whole thing.

[01:19:07] [SPEAKER_07]: It's ingrained in my brain, it's fucking rent free.

[01:19:09] [SPEAKER_07]: But hearing Christopher Sabat and Sean Schemmel,

[01:19:16] [SPEAKER_07]: those guys as the English voice actors,

[01:19:19] [SPEAKER_07]: I don't know, there's something about it.

[01:19:21] [SPEAKER_07]: I can't go back now after hearing that

[01:19:25] [SPEAKER_07]: for so many years.

[01:19:27] [SPEAKER_07]: But stuff like One Punch Man,

[01:19:28] [SPEAKER_07]: I don't think there's a dub of One Punch Man.

[01:19:31] [SPEAKER_07]: So I've only seen that in Japanese.

[01:19:34] [SPEAKER_07]: I prefer Attack on Titan in Japanese.

[01:19:38] [SPEAKER_06]: Jujutsu Kaisen in the English dub.

[01:19:40] [SPEAKER_06]: Jujutsu Kaisen is actually pretty good.

[01:19:42] [SPEAKER_06]: Is it good in English dub?

[01:19:43] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay, I'll check it out in English.

[01:19:44] [SPEAKER_06]: It is very good in English dub, yeah.

[01:19:45] [SPEAKER_06]: And there's a Netflix exclusive one, Dora Hidoro.

[01:19:51] [SPEAKER_06]: That's pretty good in English.

[01:19:53] [SPEAKER_07]: Have you guys watched Goblin Slayer?

[01:19:54] [SPEAKER_07]: I've heard Goblin Slayer's insane.

[01:19:56] [SPEAKER_06]: I watched the first three episodes.

[01:19:58] [SPEAKER_07]: It was Goblin Slayer.

[01:19:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Don't watch it in front of kids.

[01:20:01] [SPEAKER_04]: So I'm gonna tell you that right now.

[01:20:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Don't watch that in me.

[01:20:03] [SPEAKER_07]: Yep, I mean, I read Berserk on planes.

[01:20:06] [SPEAKER_07]: It's that good shit, man.

[01:20:07] [SPEAKER_06]: It's that good dark shit.

[01:20:12] [SPEAKER_06]: All right, video games.

[01:20:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Go for it.

[01:20:16] [SPEAKER_02]: You got it.

[01:20:18] [SPEAKER_02]: You have the floor.

[01:20:19] [SPEAKER_02]: At Leopold, ready?

[01:20:20] [SPEAKER_02]: All right.

[01:20:23] [SPEAKER_07]: You were asking me, wait, hang on.

[01:20:25] [SPEAKER_07]: We got sidetracked by anime,

[01:20:27] [SPEAKER_07]: but you were asking me about Visions of Mana.

[01:20:28] [SPEAKER_07]: What do you guys think about Visions of Mana?

[01:20:30] [SPEAKER_02]: I hated it.

[01:20:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, really?

[01:20:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I couldn't do it.

[01:20:34] [SPEAKER_02]: The demo, we talked about it too on our episode,

[01:20:38] [SPEAKER_02]: but we feel like we just lost any type of,

[01:20:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, it's one of those games

[01:20:46] [SPEAKER_02]: where it's not part of our age group or something.

[01:20:50] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, right Rob?

[01:20:51] [SPEAKER_02]: It just doesn't feel like it's trying to.

[01:20:54] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if it's about age per se.

[01:20:56] [SPEAKER_04]: It's more of like, I'm not really looking for that

[01:21:00] [SPEAKER_04]: in RPGs anymore.

[01:21:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I've played this type of RPG before.

[01:21:06] [SPEAKER_04]: And again, it could really be a lot,

[01:21:09] [SPEAKER_04]: because like you said,

[01:21:09] [SPEAKER_04]: it played like an older PS2 game.

[01:21:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Not saying it played like an older PS2,

[01:21:12] [SPEAKER_04]: but it felt like an older PS2 game

[01:21:14] [SPEAKER_04]: in the best way possible, right?

[01:21:16] [SPEAKER_04]: You felt right at home at this.

[01:21:17] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not saying it's a bad game,

[01:21:19] [SPEAKER_04]: but me personally, I'm like,

[01:21:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I can't do this type of RPG, like the Tales games.

[01:21:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think you'd do them anymore.

[01:21:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I think I did.

[01:21:27] [SPEAKER_07]: I was gonna say, because this game reminded me a lot

[01:21:29] [SPEAKER_07]: of the way that Tales of Arise played.

[01:21:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.

[01:21:32] [SPEAKER_07]: It's almost identical to Tales of Arise.

[01:21:34] [SPEAKER_02]: And we used to love Tales games before.

[01:21:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Now it's like hard to get back into those games

[01:21:38] [SPEAKER_02]: or whatever.

[01:21:39] [SPEAKER_04]: That's, yeah.

[01:21:40] [SPEAKER_04]: They do have a pretty long intro.

[01:21:43] [SPEAKER_07]: Did you guys play Trials of Mana, the remake?

[01:21:45] [SPEAKER_04]: No.

[01:21:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Should probably try that one first.

[01:21:48] [SPEAKER_07]: Pretty similar.

[01:21:50] [SPEAKER_07]: It's really good.

[01:21:52] [SPEAKER_07]: And then two, I would also even just go,

[01:21:55] [SPEAKER_07]: honestly, the best, sad to say this,

[01:21:59] [SPEAKER_07]: but the best days are behind us guys, okay?

[01:22:02] [SPEAKER_07]: I mean, the Super Nintendo Secret of Mana

[01:22:04] [SPEAKER_07]: and then Second Densetsu 3,

[01:22:05] [SPEAKER_07]: which eventually got translated into Trials of Mana,

[01:22:09] [SPEAKER_07]: those games are really fucking good.

[01:22:13] [SPEAKER_07]: They're incredible.

[01:22:15] [SPEAKER_07]: And it's never really captured that since then,

[01:22:18] [SPEAKER_07]: but that Trials remake is pretty goddamn good.

[01:22:23] [SPEAKER_07]: And I am more than,

[01:22:25] [SPEAKER_07]: there was definitely things about the Visions of Mana demo

[01:22:28] [SPEAKER_07]: that I was like, I don't know,

[01:22:29] [SPEAKER_07]: but I'm willing to kind of give it a chance

[01:22:33] [SPEAKER_07]: because I love Secret of Mana so much.

[01:22:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I also did not change it to Japanese immediately,

[01:22:38] [SPEAKER_04]: so that's probably why I hated it so much too

[01:22:40] [SPEAKER_04]: because every time the character spoke,

[01:22:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I was like, no, no.

[01:22:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you gotta do Japanese.

[01:22:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Gotta nip that in the butt.

[01:22:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Gotta nip that in the butt real quick.

[01:22:51] [SPEAKER_02]: All right, my next game is...

[01:22:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Take us over to the back.

[01:22:59] [SPEAKER_02]: All right, so this game,

[01:23:02] [SPEAKER_02]: I remember back in,

[01:23:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I think this is another PS3 era game that came out.

[01:23:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Some people actually consider this game like a hidden gem

[01:23:11] [SPEAKER_02]: because it was one of those that also got

[01:23:14] [SPEAKER_02]: kind of like overshadowed by all the other PS3 titles.

[01:23:19] [SPEAKER_02]: It's called Folklore.

[01:23:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.

[01:23:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I've heard of that.

[01:23:22] [SPEAKER_07]: That was a cool game.

[01:23:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I was not gonna think you're saying that.

[01:23:25] [SPEAKER_02]: That was actually one of my games I played

[01:23:27] [SPEAKER_02]: and I'm like, this is actually really fucking cool.

[01:23:30] [SPEAKER_02]: The story behind it is really cool too.

[01:23:31] [SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of like a mystery of like

[01:23:34] [SPEAKER_02]: one of the protagonists,

[01:23:35] [SPEAKER_02]: one of the protagonists, it's a young girl.

[01:23:38] [SPEAKER_02]: She's like seeking who,

[01:23:39] [SPEAKER_02]: like what happened to her deceased mom

[01:23:41] [SPEAKER_02]: or something like that.

[01:23:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Meanwhile, there's another protagonist

[01:23:44] [SPEAKER_02]: who is like an investigator

[01:23:46] [SPEAKER_02]: or like a journalist or something

[01:23:47] [SPEAKER_02]: and he's also trying to figure out what's happened

[01:23:49] [SPEAKER_02]: but they don't know each other.

[01:23:50] [SPEAKER_02]: So eventually like their worlds kind of like collide

[01:23:53] [SPEAKER_02]: and now they're trying to figure out the mystery

[01:23:55] [SPEAKER_02]: of this person's death.

[01:23:57] [SPEAKER_02]: So that's kind of cool in itself.

[01:23:59] [SPEAKER_02]: But as far as the gameplay goes,

[01:24:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I think it was really cool

[01:24:03] [SPEAKER_02]: because it kind of reminds me of like Pokemon sort of

[01:24:06] [SPEAKER_02]: in a very limited way

[01:24:08] [SPEAKER_02]: where you absorb powers of these creatures.

[01:24:12] [SPEAKER_02]: You like fight these creatures.

[01:24:13] [SPEAKER_02]: You attack them and then when they get to like,

[01:24:16] [SPEAKER_02]: when they're like fainted or whatnot,

[01:24:17] [SPEAKER_02]: you can capture them or like absorb their power

[01:24:20] [SPEAKER_02]: and you use the six axis controller to like shake it

[01:24:24] [SPEAKER_02]: and you like take their power, you like absorb them

[01:24:27] [SPEAKER_02]: and then you can utilize them afterwards.

[01:24:29] [SPEAKER_02]: So you can set them up to put them into a prompt

[01:24:34] [SPEAKER_02]: so you can have a heavy attacker on triangle

[01:24:38] [SPEAKER_02]: or like a magic attacker as your circle button

[01:24:43] [SPEAKER_02]: and you can kind of like mix and match.

[01:24:45] [SPEAKER_02]: And I thought that was pretty cool

[01:24:46] [SPEAKER_02]: but the story elements are pretty cool

[01:24:48] [SPEAKER_02]: but on top of that, the art style

[01:24:51] [SPEAKER_02]: and the atmosphere that it kind of gives you,

[01:24:53] [SPEAKER_02]: it has like this like dark fantasy style to it

[01:24:55] [SPEAKER_02]: which is like really cool.

[01:24:57] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like something I've not seen before

[01:24:58] [SPEAKER_02]: especially on the PS3 era so that caught my attention.

[01:25:02] [SPEAKER_02]: I think I played the demo

[01:25:03] [SPEAKER_02]: and I wanna say I bought the game but I don't recall.

[01:25:08] [SPEAKER_02]: And I thought it was really fucking dope

[01:25:09] [SPEAKER_02]: but it had like a different unique art style

[01:25:11] [SPEAKER_02]: and different like RPG elements

[01:25:13] [SPEAKER_02]: that I'm like, this is rad.

[01:25:14] [SPEAKER_02]: But like no one talked about it.

[01:25:17] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, it was good.

[01:25:18] [SPEAKER_07]: How's the fun game?

[01:25:19] [SPEAKER_06]: Good fucking pick man.

[01:25:21] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, solid pick.

[01:25:23] [SPEAKER_06]: We tossing that ball to...

[01:25:27] [SPEAKER_06]: Who won?

[01:25:29] [SPEAKER_04]: You won.

[01:25:31] [SPEAKER_06]: No, I think you else won.

[01:25:32] [SPEAKER_06]: I think it was Rob and then Kelvin, I think.

[01:25:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, now it's either Aaron or Jerry.

[01:25:38] [SPEAKER_06]: Ooh, okay, okay, okay.

[01:25:40] [SPEAKER_04]: It was a good one.

[01:25:41] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay, I'm gonna go all the way to the game gear

[01:25:46] [SPEAKER_06]: with Defenders of Oasis.

[01:25:48] [SPEAKER_06]: Jesus.

[01:25:49] [SPEAKER_06]: Holy fuck, you win this game.

[01:25:51] [SPEAKER_06]: Dude, it's fun.

[01:25:52] [SPEAKER_06]: What's the game?

[01:25:53] [SPEAKER_06]: What is it called?

[01:25:54] [SPEAKER_06]: Defenders of Oasis.

[01:25:57] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay, you defend an Oasis, got it.

[01:25:59] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, so it's just...

[01:26:00] [SPEAKER_06]: The band?

[01:26:02] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, dude, the band.

[01:26:03] [SPEAKER_06]: His wonder wall.

[01:26:05] [SPEAKER_06]: No, it's just like a kind of a plain Jane RPG

[01:26:09] [SPEAKER_06]: except it's in like, it's set in...

[01:26:13] [SPEAKER_06]: What the fuck is that?

[01:26:14] [SPEAKER_06]: Like Arabian Nights kind of tone or not tone setting

[01:26:19] [SPEAKER_06]: and the characters and shit like that.

[01:26:21] [SPEAKER_06]: But you play as this prince.

[01:26:23] [SPEAKER_06]: His kingdom gets overtaken by this evil empire

[01:26:26] [SPEAKER_06]: and so you're basically just going on this journey

[01:26:28] [SPEAKER_06]: to gather up some homies, power yourself up

[01:26:32] [SPEAKER_06]: and then you go and take on the evil bad guy

[01:26:34] [SPEAKER_06]: like the Lord Agmar or some shit like that.

[01:26:38] [SPEAKER_06]: And along the way, yeah, you have your main character.

[01:26:41] [SPEAKER_06]: He's well-rounded essentially.

[01:26:44] [SPEAKER_06]: Then you get a genie who is your only magic user.

[01:26:48] [SPEAKER_06]: Then what else is there?

[01:26:49] [SPEAKER_06]: There's...

[01:26:50] [SPEAKER_06]: His name is Salim.

[01:26:52] [SPEAKER_06]: He's fast and quick

[01:26:53] [SPEAKER_06]: and he can attack all enemies at once

[01:26:56] [SPEAKER_06]: but he doesn't do as much damage as other characters.

[01:26:58] [SPEAKER_06]: Then you got like a thief guy later on

[01:27:00] [SPEAKER_06]: and he can hide and then do like a powerful attack

[01:27:05] [SPEAKER_06]: after like a turn or two or something.

[01:27:08] [SPEAKER_06]: And yeah, it just looks really, really cool

[01:27:10] [SPEAKER_06]: for the game gear.

[01:27:11] [SPEAKER_06]: It's got some really colorful graphics.

[01:27:13] [SPEAKER_06]: Like it's got some cool cut scenes

[01:27:15] [SPEAKER_06]: where everything's really detailed and almost anime-like.

[01:27:18] [SPEAKER_06]: The enemy sprites when you're in battle are really cool.

[01:27:21] [SPEAKER_06]: It's like basically like Arabian Nights Dragon Quest almost

[01:27:25] [SPEAKER_06]: and it's just fun, man.

[01:27:27] [SPEAKER_06]: I think it's really quick too.

[01:27:28] [SPEAKER_06]: I probably had to pull it up on how long to beat

[01:27:30] [SPEAKER_06]: to say for sure, but it's not very long at all.

[01:27:33] [SPEAKER_06]: It's really cool, dude.

[01:27:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Interesting. It does look interesting.

[01:27:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I love that we have a diverse cast of games, right?

[01:27:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Like you're kind of going really old school.

[01:27:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Rob and I are kind of like more on the PS3,

[01:27:47] [SPEAKER_02]: like 2010-ish era, you know?

[01:27:49] [SPEAKER_02]: So it's a good cast of games.

[01:27:52] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, it's 10 hours.

[01:27:54] [SPEAKER_06]: 10 hours for the main story, it looks like.

[01:27:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Nice.

[01:27:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Damn, you have to charge your game gear

[01:27:59] [SPEAKER_04]: 800 times to beat it.

[01:28:03] [SPEAKER_06]: Or put like a bajillion batteries in it.

[01:28:05] [SPEAKER_06]: Just get like the belts that you would have

[01:28:08] [SPEAKER_06]: on like a heavy machine gun

[01:28:09] [SPEAKER_06]: and like reward whatever times

[01:28:11] [SPEAKER_06]: and it's just like all batteries.

[01:28:13] [SPEAKER_06]: It's just feeding into the game gear constantly.

[01:28:16] [SPEAKER_06]: Bandolier, there we go.

[01:28:17] [SPEAKER_06]: There you go, yeah, batteries.

[01:28:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Just bandolier of batteries on you.

[01:28:19] [SPEAKER_02]: The box art looks pretty dope too though.

[01:28:22] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, that box art is fucking sweet, man.

[01:28:24] [SPEAKER_06]: It's just, it's a fun game.

[01:28:26] [SPEAKER_06]: I discovered it on back on the 3DS,

[01:28:30] [SPEAKER_06]: like on the virtual console in 3DS

[01:28:32] [SPEAKER_06]: had a bunch of game gear games.

[01:28:34] [SPEAKER_06]: I was just looking at this.

[01:28:35] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, dude, rest in peace.

[01:28:36] [SPEAKER_06]: And it's really good shit on there.

[01:28:38] [SPEAKER_06]: Tales Adventure, by the way,

[01:28:39] [SPEAKER_06]: that's a really good one.

[01:28:40] [SPEAKER_06]: But I found, yeah, this game,

[01:28:42] [SPEAKER_06]: Tales Adventure and I think some Sonic Racing game.

[01:28:46] [SPEAKER_06]: It's great.

[01:28:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Is the band named after the game?

[01:28:52] [SPEAKER_06]: Defenders of Oasis.

[01:28:53] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I need to know.

[01:28:56] [SPEAKER_05]: Is it really?

[01:28:57] [SPEAKER_06]: No, no, no, no, I don't know.

[01:28:59] [SPEAKER_06]: I think I'm pretty sure the band came before,

[01:29:01] [SPEAKER_06]: the band Oasis definitely came before the game.

[01:29:04] [SPEAKER_02]: So Rob, I know what your next question is.

[01:29:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Is the game based off of the band?

[01:29:08] [SPEAKER_02]: It's somehow.

[01:29:10] [SPEAKER_06]: Is there an Easter egg in there?

[01:29:11] [SPEAKER_07]: The British band well known for their Arabian sound.

[01:29:15] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh yeah, so the band Oasis came out in 91.

[01:29:19] [SPEAKER_06]: This game came out in 92.

[01:29:21] [SPEAKER_06]: So.

[01:29:22] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, so no.

[01:29:24] [SPEAKER_07]: Close, but.

[01:29:25] [SPEAKER_07]: The game is based off of Liam and Noel Gallagher.

[01:29:28] [SPEAKER_06]: Maybe the Oasis bros, Bob Oasis himself.

[01:29:32] [SPEAKER_06]: He was like, hey, there's this game coming out

[01:29:35] [SPEAKER_06]: on the Game Gear in one year called Defenders of Oasis.

[01:29:39] [SPEAKER_06]: It sounds bitching, I'm doing a terrible British accent,

[01:29:42] [SPEAKER_06]: but they were like.

[01:29:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, let's be Oasis, here's Wonderwall.

[01:29:47] [SPEAKER_07]: Crikey.

[01:29:48] [SPEAKER_07]: You're not offending every single person

[01:29:50] [SPEAKER_07]: in Great Britain right now.

[01:29:53] [SPEAKER_06]: All right, Jerry.

[01:29:54] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.

[01:29:55] [SPEAKER_06]: Play us out.

[01:29:57] [SPEAKER_07]: Play us out?

[01:29:57] [SPEAKER_07]: Do I get to do my last pick?

[01:29:59] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, yeah, that's what I meant, I'm sorry.

[01:30:00] [SPEAKER_06]: Play us out with your last pick.

[01:30:01] [SPEAKER_06]: I was like, we're leaving?

[01:30:02] [SPEAKER_07]: I didn't.

[01:30:05] [SPEAKER_07]: So I can't get enough Super Nintendo in my life,

[01:30:10] [SPEAKER_07]: so I usually kind of trickle back to it.

[01:30:15] [SPEAKER_07]: I mentioned a game that was made by Enix

[01:30:19] [SPEAKER_07]: on the Super Nintendo and on the episode

[01:30:21] [SPEAKER_07]: that we did with Quest 64 Mike,

[01:30:24] [SPEAKER_07]: because it was a game that was up for debate

[01:30:26] [SPEAKER_07]: about the mechanics of the game

[01:30:28] [SPEAKER_07]: and whether or not it would be considered an RPG,

[01:30:31] [SPEAKER_07]: and that's EVO, The Search for Eden.

[01:30:35] [SPEAKER_07]: So this game that I'm talking about now though

[01:30:37] [SPEAKER_07]: is not that game, but what I kind of wanted

[01:30:39] [SPEAKER_07]: to shed a light on is the fact that Enix

[01:30:42] [SPEAKER_07]: was making some kind of different kinds

[01:30:44] [SPEAKER_07]: of RPGs on the Super Nintendo.

[01:30:46] [SPEAKER_07]: They did the Legend of, sorry, The Illusion of Gaia,

[01:30:51] [SPEAKER_07]: which was fantastic.

[01:30:53] [SPEAKER_07]: It was kind of like a top-down action RPG,

[01:30:56] [SPEAKER_07]: very similar to like a Zelda type thing.

[01:30:59] [SPEAKER_07]: They also did the follow up to that,

[01:31:02] [SPEAKER_07]: which was Terra Enigma, same type of thing,

[01:31:05] [SPEAKER_07]: also kind of an obscure game,

[01:31:07] [SPEAKER_07]: but still not as obscure as I want it to be.

[01:31:10] [SPEAKER_07]: No, no, no, I'm talking about Robo Trek.

[01:31:14] [SPEAKER_05]: Ooh.

[01:31:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Fuck yeah.

[01:31:16] [SPEAKER_07]: Robo Trek is such a cool fucking game.

[01:31:19] [SPEAKER_07]: It has an amazing art style, super colorful,

[01:31:23] [SPEAKER_07]: really unique kind of system.

[01:31:25] [SPEAKER_07]: In a way it's kind of like custom robo in a weird way.

[01:31:30] [SPEAKER_07]: Whoa.

[01:31:31] [SPEAKER_07]: Yes!

[01:31:32] [SPEAKER_07]: You get to build your robot

[01:31:34] [SPEAKER_07]: and you make your robot the way that you want.

[01:31:37] [SPEAKER_07]: And it's all about customizing this robot.

[01:31:41] [SPEAKER_07]: And it's just so fun.

[01:31:44] [SPEAKER_07]: And like, it's a lighthearted, easy to play game.

[01:31:46] [SPEAKER_07]: It's not like gonna break your mind.

[01:31:48] [SPEAKER_07]: You're not gonna get into some crazy fucking drama

[01:31:52] [SPEAKER_07]: or romance or nothing like this.

[01:31:53] [SPEAKER_07]: It's just a fun fucking game

[01:31:55] [SPEAKER_02]: that nobody fucking knows about.

[01:31:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Club the Little Guy.

[01:31:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. The main character.

[01:32:00] [SPEAKER_02]: It's just got a look, you know?

[01:32:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it has a look.

[01:32:03] [SPEAKER_07]: And it's just so much fun.

[01:32:06] [SPEAKER_07]: And I've gotten probably like halfway through it,

[01:32:10] [SPEAKER_07]: but I've never fully finished it.

[01:32:12] [SPEAKER_07]: And I always kind of want to go back to this one.

[01:32:15] [SPEAKER_07]: This is one that I definitely want to cross out

[01:32:18] [SPEAKER_07]: my bucket list at some point soon.

[01:32:21] [SPEAKER_07]: And again, I don't think it's that long of a game.

[01:32:25] [SPEAKER_02]: The art's giving me like Dragon Ball Z vibes.

[01:32:30] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, it's a- Legacy of Goku?

[01:32:31] [SPEAKER_07]: It's 23 hours.

[01:32:33] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh. That's not bad.

[01:32:35] [SPEAKER_06]: That's pretty good.

[01:32:36] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, it's about the length of like Chrono Trigger.

[01:32:38] [SPEAKER_07]: Chrono Trigger's also not a long, long game.

[01:32:41] [SPEAKER_06]: But- God damn it.

[01:32:42] [SPEAKER_07]: What I will say in closing for all my shit

[01:32:46] [SPEAKER_07]: and the obscurity ranging from one end to the other

[01:32:51] [SPEAKER_07]: in my picks, not all these games are gonna top

[01:32:55] [SPEAKER_07]: like a Chrono Trigger or any of that stuff.

[01:32:57] [SPEAKER_07]: Right.

[01:32:57] [SPEAKER_07]: But the thing that I always love about an obscure RPG,

[01:33:01] [SPEAKER_07]: they stand out more to me over time.

[01:33:03] [SPEAKER_07]: I will remember the weird shit over like

[01:33:07] [SPEAKER_07]: what the fuck happened in the third act of Chrono Trigger.

[01:33:11] [SPEAKER_07]: Like the intricacies of what happened there.

[01:33:14] [SPEAKER_07]: But I'll remember like, oh yeah, Shadow Hearts

[01:33:16] [SPEAKER_07]: has that fucking weird dial that you like

[01:33:19] [SPEAKER_07]: do timed hits on.

[01:33:20] [SPEAKER_07]: Like I'll remember that.

[01:33:21] [SPEAKER_07]: But if you're like- Right.

[01:33:23] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, it's just something about that stuff

[01:33:25] [SPEAKER_07]: that sticks out to me.

[01:33:25] [SPEAKER_07]: And I find that infinitely more interesting

[01:33:28] [SPEAKER_07]: than most RPGs that are really good RPGs,

[01:33:33] [SPEAKER_07]: but kind of run of the mill.

[01:33:34] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah. If that makes sense.

[01:33:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I agree with that 100%.

[01:33:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I think of all of these weird titles

[01:33:41] [SPEAKER_04]: that I've played over the years.

[01:33:43] [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm like, you made like a core memory

[01:33:46] [SPEAKER_04]: playing those titles.

[01:33:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Like those- Yeah.

[01:33:48] [SPEAKER_04]: There's always with you because like

[01:33:50] [SPEAKER_04]: you know a lot of people didn't play them.

[01:33:51] [SPEAKER_04]: So you couldn't really talk about them

[01:33:53] [SPEAKER_04]: with like everyone else because they're like,

[01:33:55] [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't play it because it wasn't mainstream.

[01:33:58] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's just like, it's like a secret to yourself.

[01:34:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, I remember I played this part

[01:34:01] [SPEAKER_04]: and it was like really, really weird and kooky.

[01:34:02] [SPEAKER_04]: But like no one else knows.

[01:34:04] [SPEAKER_07]: Well dude, that's like back in the day

[01:34:05] [SPEAKER_07]: playing Suikoden.

[01:34:07] [SPEAKER_07]: Nobody knew what that fucking game was.

[01:34:09] [SPEAKER_07]: I'd be like, dude, have you ever heard

[01:34:09] [SPEAKER_07]: of this fucking game?

[01:34:10] [SPEAKER_07]: They were like, how do you even say that?

[01:34:12] [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like-

[01:34:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Suikoden?

[01:34:15] [SPEAKER_07]: I was like, dude, you gotta play this fucking game.

[01:34:17] [SPEAKER_07]: Suikoden.

[01:34:18] [SPEAKER_07]: That looks so sweet.

[01:34:19] [SPEAKER_07]: Suikoden.

[01:34:20] [SPEAKER_07]: Because like number one, it was impossible

[01:34:22] [SPEAKER_07]: to even fucking pronounce the goddamn name

[01:34:24] [SPEAKER_07]: when we were kids.

[01:34:25] [SPEAKER_07]: Right. Number two,

[01:34:26] [SPEAKER_07]: the box art looked like hot dog shit.

[01:34:28] [SPEAKER_07]: So like, yeah, like people were like,

[01:34:31] [SPEAKER_07]: what the fuck is this game?

[01:34:32] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm like, no, I'm not gonna play this.

[01:34:34] [SPEAKER_07]: When there's like Final Fantasy VII?

[01:34:36] [SPEAKER_07]: Okay, like that's the thing.

[01:34:38] [SPEAKER_07]: Of course everybody remembers fucking Aerith

[01:34:41] [SPEAKER_07]: dying in Final Fantasy VII.

[01:34:43] [SPEAKER_07]: But I also remember recruiting fucking 60 something people

[01:34:48] [SPEAKER_07]: and building a goddamn castle to myself

[01:34:51] [SPEAKER_07]: and being like the fucking man of the castle

[01:34:54] [SPEAKER_07]: and then going and fighting some fucking dragons.

[01:34:57] [SPEAKER_07]: King of the castle.

[01:34:57] [SPEAKER_07]: King of the castle.

[01:34:58] [SPEAKER_07]: King of the castle.

[01:34:59] [SPEAKER_07]: Going and fighting some fucking dragon in a cave,

[01:35:01] [SPEAKER_07]: I was like, I'm gonna go and get my ass kicked.

[01:35:02] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm like, you know what?

[01:35:02] [SPEAKER_07]: I really need, I need that cook.

[01:35:04] [SPEAKER_07]: I need that fucking, that cobalt guy.

[01:35:07] [SPEAKER_07]: And I need this other fucking dude.

[01:35:08] [SPEAKER_07]: Fuck all these guys that are in my party.

[01:35:10] [SPEAKER_07]: And like just cycling through party members.

[01:35:12] [SPEAKER_07]: That's what sticks in my head.

[01:35:13] [SPEAKER_06]: That's good, man.

[01:35:15] [SPEAKER_06]: That is good.

[01:35:17] Preach.

[01:35:18] [SPEAKER_06]: Should we lightning round these honorable mentions?

[01:35:21] [SPEAKER_06]: Yes.

[01:35:21] [SPEAKER_06]: Do it.

[01:35:22] [SPEAKER_06]: All right, Rob, what you got?

[01:35:24] [SPEAKER_04]: All right, real quick.

[01:35:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm gonna go Drakengard, the original one.

[01:35:27] [SPEAKER_04]: God damn it.

[01:35:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Enchanted Arms, Baton Kados, Lost Kingdom

[01:35:34] [SPEAKER_04]: and Chaos Legion.

[01:35:36] [SPEAKER_06]: That is my- Fucking love Lost Kingdom.

[01:35:38] [SPEAKER_06]: Holy shit.

[01:35:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Those are so many of them.

[01:35:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I said, there's so many that like

[01:35:44] [SPEAKER_04]: weird obscure games and it's just like,

[01:35:45] [SPEAKER_04]: it's impossible to like do it in under

[01:35:47] [SPEAKER_04]: fucking whatever time we got.

[01:35:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I guess I'll pick.

[01:35:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Calvin, your other obscures.

[01:35:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I have just one good one for me and it's Xeno Saiga.

[01:35:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Fuck yeah.

[01:35:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Love that game.

[01:35:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Always wanted to play those.

[01:36:01] [SPEAKER_02]: It's so good, it's so good.

[01:36:03] [SPEAKER_02]: That's my thing.

[01:36:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Fuck off.

[01:36:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Hell yeah.

[01:36:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Jerry, what you got?

[01:36:07] [SPEAKER_07]: Bug Fables.

[01:36:09] [SPEAKER_06]: Bug Fables?

[01:36:11] [SPEAKER_06]: That's a good fucking game.

[01:36:12] [SPEAKER_06]: Have you never heard of it?

[01:36:13] [SPEAKER_06]: The fucking- Look it up.

[01:36:14] [SPEAKER_06]: Bug Fables.

[01:36:14] [SPEAKER_07]: Do you like Paper Mario?

[01:36:16] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.

[01:36:17] [SPEAKER_06]: Do you like bugs?

[01:36:18] [SPEAKER_07]: Look this shit up.

[01:36:19] [SPEAKER_07]: No.

[01:36:20] [SPEAKER_07]: Then don't touch this fucking game.

[01:36:21] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh shit, this is kinda-

[01:36:22] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, you're right.

[01:36:23] [SPEAKER_04]: That looks actually kinda cool.

[01:36:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, this looks sick.

[01:36:27] [SPEAKER_07]: Put it on your wish list right now.

[01:36:29] [SPEAKER_07]: The writing is hilarious and it is Mario RPG.

[01:36:33] [SPEAKER_07]: Or Mario.

[01:36:34] [SPEAKER_05]: The characters are really fucking cool.

[01:36:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Dude, they look cool dude.

[01:36:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Dude, the green beetle looking ass motherfu-

[01:36:40] [SPEAKER_04]: He looks dope as shit.

[01:36:41] [SPEAKER_04]: He's awesome.

[01:36:42] [SPEAKER_07]: This game flew under the radar for so many people

[01:36:45] [SPEAKER_07]: and it deserves a lot more credit than it gets.

[01:36:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Bro, I'm gonna have to write these games down.

[01:36:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm gonna have to write these games down.

[01:36:54] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.

[01:36:54] [SPEAKER_06]: Holy crap.

[01:36:55] [SPEAKER_06]: Especially Bug Fables dude, that game is so fucking cool.

[01:37:00] [SPEAKER_07]: Super cool.

[01:37:00] [SPEAKER_06]: All right.

[01:37:01] [SPEAKER_06]: Here's what I got.

[01:37:02] [SPEAKER_06]: So I got Shining the Holy Ark.

[01:37:04] [SPEAKER_06]: I got Nostalgia, which is the name of a game on DS

[01:37:07] [SPEAKER_06]: and Valkyrie Profile Covenant of the Plume.

[01:37:10] Mm-hmm.

[01:37:11] All right.

[01:37:12] [SPEAKER_04]: The Valkyrie Chronicle games, I just, I never could.

[01:37:15] [SPEAKER_04]: I know there's a lot of them and they're good.

[01:37:18] [SPEAKER_04]: I just-

[01:37:18] [SPEAKER_06]: I think there's only three.

[01:37:19] [SPEAKER_06]: There's just Valkyrie Profile, Valkyrie Profile 2,

[01:37:23] [SPEAKER_06]: which I think was on PS2 and then Covenant of the Plume

[01:37:27] [SPEAKER_06]: on DS, I think.

[01:37:28] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm probably wrong.

[01:37:30] [SPEAKER_07]: Actually, I have two more honorable mentions

[01:37:32] [SPEAKER_07]: because I didn't write all my shit down

[01:37:33] [SPEAKER_07]: but there was a couple other ones.

[01:37:35] [SPEAKER_07]: Have you guys played Vagrant Story?

[01:37:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I've heard of it.

[01:37:38] [SPEAKER_07]: Never played it but I've heard of it.

[01:37:39] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, on the PS1 right?

[01:37:41] [SPEAKER_07]: Yep.

[01:37:42] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, that's a cool one.

[01:37:42] [SPEAKER_07]: It had like a targeting system almost like

[01:37:44] [SPEAKER_07]: follow threes like Vats thing where like

[01:37:46] [SPEAKER_07]: you target like different body parts

[01:37:47] [SPEAKER_07]: and it gave you like a percentage of like

[01:37:49] [SPEAKER_07]: how much of a chance you had to hit that

[01:37:50] [SPEAKER_07]: and like destroy that body part.

[01:37:53] [SPEAKER_07]: Very fucking cool game.

[01:37:54] [SPEAKER_07]: And it's also like some weird like spin-off

[01:37:56] [SPEAKER_07]: of like Romeo and Juliet or something.

[01:38:00] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, it's fucking wild ride.

[01:38:03] [SPEAKER_07]: Also Galarian is also a really weird-

[01:38:07] [SPEAKER_06]: Is that an RPG?

[01:38:09] [SPEAKER_07]: We can consult with Quest 64 Mike on this

[01:38:11] [SPEAKER_07]: but it's somewhat of an RPG.

[01:38:15] [SPEAKER_07]: It's like a survival horror action RPG kind of thing.

[01:38:18] [SPEAKER_07]: Almost like the way that Parasite Eve 2

[01:38:20] [SPEAKER_07]: was kind of like a Resident Evil RPG.

[01:38:24] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay, that is it.

[01:38:42] [SPEAKER_06]: All right listeners, that's all of our cool

[01:38:44] [SPEAKER_06]: obscure JRPGs.

[01:38:46] [SPEAKER_06]: Yes, that's it for our episode today.

[01:38:49] [SPEAKER_06]: Thank you once more to Rob and Kelvin

[01:38:51] [SPEAKER_06]: for coming on.

[01:38:52] [SPEAKER_06]: Holy shit, this was a blast.

[01:38:54] [SPEAKER_06]: Thank you for your awesome picks.

[01:38:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Yo, I had so many games to play.

[01:38:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and we have like a shit ton of games to play

[01:39:02] [SPEAKER_02]: that bug fables ones.

[01:39:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm really, I'm looking at it now.

[01:39:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Definitely get it.

[01:39:07] [SPEAKER_02]: This one is like right up my alley.

[01:39:10] [SPEAKER_02]: So yeah.
