[00:00:00] Did you see that Dracula hangs dong in Nosferatu?

[00:00:05] No, but that's cool. As you should.

[00:00:08] Yeah. I'm all about it. Give me that Dracula dong all day.

[00:00:13] That blood sucking dong. All the blood that I suck from my victims goes to my huge hog.

[00:00:23] Fuck man. Fuck. Fuck man. Fuck. Coming to a theater near you.

[00:00:29] Dracula's large hog.

[00:00:37] The only superhero that can stop OJ Dracula is fuck man.

[00:00:45] Stop in the name of love. And then they start fucking. If you don't stop, I'll fuck you.

[00:00:51] It's just a porno.

[00:00:56] It's just a porno.

[00:00:58] OJ versus Dracula. They start kissing.

[00:01:01] And then they fuck.

[00:01:04] Austria!

[00:01:06] Well then, good day mate.

[00:01:11] Let's put another shrimp on my barbie.

[00:01:14] What it do everybody? My name's Aaron. My skin's on too tight.

[00:01:17] My name's Jerry and I once pissed next to Charlie Pride and then asked him for an autograph on a piece of napkin for my mom.

[00:01:24] And we're listening to SuperPod Saga.

[00:01:38] SuperPod Saga?

[00:01:40] Saga?

[00:01:42] SuperPod Sega Genesis.

[00:01:46] SuperPod Sega Saturn.

[00:01:47] We're changing the name.

[00:01:48] Anyway, hello.

[00:01:49] Yeah, thank you for tuning in to this next exciting installment of SuperPod Saga.

[00:01:54] The final chapter in the Frieza arc or I don't know.

[00:01:59] It's SuperPod Saga.

[00:02:00] The greatest collaboration of all time.

[00:02:02] It's me and it's Jerry.

[00:02:04] And we're talking about every video game topic in existence week by week.

[00:02:07] Until there's nothing at all left to discuss.

[00:02:09] Do you want to tell them what we're talking about today, Jerry?

[00:02:11] Or do you want me to do it?

[00:02:13] I would be happy to describe the episode in detail before we talk about the episode in detail.

[00:02:20] We're going to recap 2024 because some crazy shit happened in 2024 for both of us in gaming and podcasting in life.

[00:02:32] So this is just going to be like a fun little recap of 2024.

[00:02:35] And then we're going to go over our beats, baby.

[00:02:43] Beyonce is now a country singer.

[00:02:45] Whoa, what?

[00:02:48] Did you not see that Super Bowl?

[00:02:51] Like not the Super Bowl, but the friggin that halftime show thing that they did?

[00:02:55] No, what the fuck?

[00:02:56] You didn't see that?

[00:02:58] No, I don't watch football.

[00:03:00] The queen of rap, hip-hop, and R&B is now singing country.

[00:03:07] And we'll put up a spoiler wall for this one.

[00:03:11] It's fucking bad.

[00:03:15] Spoiler wall.

[00:03:18] Dude, she probably must have just gotten good.

[00:03:21] She was like, I can't sing Halo anymore.

[00:03:23] I need to sing other songs.

[00:03:26] I don't know what Beyonce song is about.

[00:03:29] It was tragic.

[00:03:30] Shit, that sucks.

[00:03:31] Anything is better than what she did.

[00:03:34] Halo, Halo, Halo.

[00:03:36] Like, I'm not a Beyonce hater or anything.

[00:03:39] But like, it was not good.

[00:03:42] Bad.

[00:03:43] Besides that, there is some important news in the world of gaming.

[00:03:49] Star Fox has been ported to PC.

[00:03:53] Oh, yeah.

[00:03:54] I saw that.

[00:03:54] The same way that some of these other ones have been ported to PC.

[00:03:57] So it has widescreen support.

[00:03:59] You can like upscale it very nicely.

[00:04:03] I'm sure there'll be a lot of like modding and stuff will happen now with Star Fox 64, which is great because honestly, dude, there needs to be more Star Fox 64 like games.

[00:04:15] Like, I can't believe how good Star Fox 64 is.

[00:04:19] And you know what?

[00:04:20] I beat Star Fox 64 for the first time myself this year.

[00:04:25] Like, I've always played it time and yeah, like actually went through and beat it.

[00:04:31] And it's nuts because like, I've played that game so many times and I've never actually finished it, which is insane because it's not even that long.

[00:04:41] Like you can do it in an hour or something like it's or a couple hours.

[00:04:45] It's super short.

[00:04:47] There's a game that's it's this.

[00:04:49] So it's a roguelike and it's kind of like Star Fox, but it's all like early polygon kind of looking.

[00:04:58] I can't think of what the fucking it's like skies.

[00:04:59] Oh, I think I know what you're talking.

[00:05:02] I think I know what you're talking about there.

[00:05:03] There's been a few.

[00:05:04] There's one that's like in early access right now.

[00:05:07] That looks really cool.

[00:05:08] I'd have to look up the name, but I don't know what off the top of my head.

[00:05:11] I'll find it for you later.

[00:05:12] Yeah, you put in the episode notes or something.

[00:05:14] But yeah, that's it.

[00:05:15] That's all for super important breaking news.

[00:05:19] That's good.

[00:05:20] Yeah, that's more than I had planned.

[00:05:21] I'm I'm I'm still I'm really surprised in like the whole entire switch lifespan.

[00:05:28] They haven't put out a new Star Fox.

[00:05:31] I feel like there's a lot they could do with Star Fox man that they just because Nintendo doesn't give a shit about Star Fox.

[00:05:37] They don't give a shit about Metroid.

[00:05:39] Well, they will once Prime 4 comes out and breaks the fucking internet.

[00:05:43] That's true.

[00:05:44] Yeah, yeah, like dread dreads good, but I just feel like I don't know and like we've been we got a decent amount of Kirby on the switch like there was some good ass Kirby games on switch.

[00:05:59] But like some of the other franchises.

[00:06:02] They're just like, yeah, who cares?

[00:06:05] Like F zero.

[00:06:06] Where the fuck is F zero?

[00:06:08] Like, dude, give us that shit to and custom robo.

[00:06:12] I feel like they could.

[00:06:12] There's so many franchises they could do a lot with, but they're like, nope, let's focus on the ones that we know people like to buy like Mario and Kirby and fucking.

[00:06:22] I mean, that new Mario Party is really, really good jamboree.

[00:06:26] Like we've been playing a lot of that.

[00:06:28] I know that on the anti game of the year, quest 64.

[00:06:32] Mike was saying that that was like his favorite game of this year.

[00:06:37] It was going to be I think Dark Souls or something, but like he was like, I can't I can't stop.

[00:06:44] I can't stop playing Mario Party and God.

[00:06:47] Yeah, I got to tell you, man, it's good.

[00:06:50] Like it's even like got Karen every night for the last like six days.

[00:06:56] She's been like, okay, like normally at when she's ready to like wind down to do something.

[00:07:01] She'll be like, all right, let's go watch a TV show for the last six days is like, okay, Mario Party.

[00:07:05] We got to unlock those fucking maps.

[00:07:08] Is that why?

[00:07:09] Is that why you're always like Karen's going to fucking murder me if I'm not off this call earlier?

[00:07:14] Because she wants to go play Mario Party.

[00:07:15] Yeah, she wants to load up Toadette and then get in there.

[00:07:20] Not even Toadette.

[00:07:21] She picks Toadette.

[00:07:23] Yeah, she picks Toadette.

[00:07:25] I stick with either classic Mario.

[00:07:28] Who do you pick for Mario Party?

[00:07:31] I haven't played the new one, but in the in the last Super Mario Party, I picked Wario and Diddy Kong.

[00:07:40] Even though their dice blocks suck.

[00:07:41] I just love the characters.

[00:07:43] Yeah, Diddy Kong is not in this one.

[00:07:45] I would pick him if he was, but he's not.

[00:07:47] That's bullshit.

[00:07:50] Fuck you, Nintendo.

[00:07:51] You've lost another customer.

[00:07:55] Put Diddy Kong in.

[00:07:57] Hashtag where my Diddy at.

[00:07:59] He's in jail.

[00:08:01] Shit.

[00:08:03] Maybe that's why they did it.

[00:08:04] They were like, we don't want a character named after this fucking monster.

[00:08:07] This slime person.

[00:08:10] What if it actually is the reason?

[00:08:12] Maybe.

[00:08:13] I can't think of any other reason why they would shaft Diddy.

[00:08:16] They're going to have to rebrand Diddy Kong.

[00:08:18] The name of Doodoo Kong.

[00:08:20] I'm like, Little Kong.

[00:08:21] Little Kong.

[00:08:23] Little Kong.

[00:08:24] Little Kong.

[00:08:25] Dicky Kong.

[00:08:26] Little Kong.

[00:08:26] Little Kong.

[00:08:32] My man, Doodoo Kong.

[00:08:34] My man, Doodoo Kong.

[00:08:36] The Beepy Kong.

[00:08:37] But yeah.

[00:08:39] That's the Beepy Planet.

[00:08:41] I'm just kidding.

[00:08:42] Go ahead.

[00:08:43] I can't remember what I was going to say.

[00:08:45] Mario Party?

[00:08:46] Mario Party is good.

[00:08:47] Oh, and I usually go for Mario, you know, because I'm a basic bitch.

[00:08:52] Or I go for sometimes Wario.

[00:08:57] Yeah.

[00:08:58] Yeah.

[00:08:59] I like the lineup in our house is almost always Mario, Toadette, Yoshi.

[00:09:05] And then there's like either Donkey Kong or like Waluigi.

[00:09:08] Someone picks some dumb fuck and throws it in there.

[00:09:11] Some stupid asshole character.

[00:09:15] And like they pick Mel Gibson.

[00:09:17] This one.

[00:09:22] Oh, my God.

[00:09:23] I wish there was a mod for Mario Party where it's just like Mel Gibson and fucking Keanu Reeves

[00:09:28] and like Nicolas Cage and OJ Simpson.

[00:09:32] Fucking Mel.

[00:09:35] Smelly Mel as they call him.

[00:09:37] Smell Gibson.

[00:09:42] We love you, Mel Gibson.

[00:09:45] I don't know.

[00:09:45] I don't love Mel Gibson.

[00:09:47] Okay, cool.

[00:09:47] I don't love him either.

[00:09:48] He was good once upon a time.

[00:09:50] What kind of name was Mel?

[00:09:52] What's his real first name?

[00:09:53] Mel Bourne.

[00:09:54] Mel Bourne.

[00:09:58] Mel Bourne, Australia, Gibson.

[00:10:05] Malboro.

[00:10:07] Gilson.

[00:10:09] Marlboro.

[00:10:10] Gilson.

[00:10:10] Marlboro Cash.

[00:10:13] Oh, man.

[00:10:15] Oh, man.

[00:10:33] I don't know what this is supposed to be.

[00:10:36] Do the topic.

[00:10:38] Okay.

[00:10:38] Yeah.

[00:10:38] So we're switching gears.

[00:10:43] We're so this funny is thrown out.

[00:10:45] Throw the funnies out.

[00:10:47] Oh, Jesus Christ.

[00:10:48] Yeah.

[00:10:49] So we're recapping 2024 as a year for Super Pod Saga.

[00:10:53] Yeah.

[00:10:53] Just like Jerry said earlier, a lot of shit happened.

[00:10:56] We started strong with a huge donk early in the year.

[00:11:00] When I read that in the episode notes, I read that as like, we started stocks.

[00:11:07] We started stank.

[00:11:10] Stalks, yeah.

[00:11:11] We got stocks now, Super Pod.

[00:11:13] Fuck.

[00:11:14] Oh, my God.

[00:11:15] Strongs.

[00:11:17] Strong with a double donk.

[00:11:18] Yeah.

[00:11:20] The Japan exclusives episode released right on like the very first day of 2024.

[00:11:26] It was me, Bill, Thrak, Novel Console, Chris and Tim, who we need to have back on the show sometime because he knows a lot about retro games.

[00:11:36] He's an awesome guy.

[00:11:37] Love you, Tim, if you're listening.

[00:11:39] But yeah, that Japan exclusives episode is pretty good.

[00:11:41] Then we did the licensed games episode, you and you and Jay from Super Bracket Bros on the 15th.

[00:11:46] That was a good one.

[00:11:48] That was probably like the one of the main reasons I was like, dude, Jerry should just be the fucking co-host.

[00:11:53] Like we did that game characters.

[00:11:58] You don't have a drink with episode of Matt Storm and that fucking.

[00:12:01] Oh, yeah.

[00:12:02] Rip slip.

[00:12:03] Yeah, that's where rip slip came from.

[00:12:07] That's a good one.

[00:12:08] And then.

[00:12:10] Oh, yeah.

[00:12:11] January 2nd of 2024 is when Tommy officially messaged me.

[00:12:15] He's like, hey, man, I got to step away from the podcast.

[00:12:18] Like we're trying to start a family.

[00:12:20] I don't think he was starting a new position at his job.

[00:12:23] He just doesn't have a lot of time like between his family and work and all the other shit that he has going on.

[00:12:29] He couldn't be in the podcast anymore.

[00:12:31] But Tommy, if you're listening, first of all, fuck you.

[00:12:34] Second of all, I'm just kidding.

[00:12:35] I love you.

[00:12:37] I'm just kidding.

[00:12:38] Tommy, he he messaged you at 1201 that day and then 1206.

[00:12:44] You messaged everybody else and was like, oh, we have a problem with Superpod.

[00:12:52] Houston, we have a problem, man.

[00:12:54] And yeah, that was that was a weird time because at first I was like panicking.

[00:12:58] I was like, dude, is are we is this fucking show just done?

[00:13:02] Like what the fuck?

[00:13:03] How is this shit even going to go?

[00:13:05] Yeah, I went solo from that day until around June 6th.

[00:13:09] They're not June 6th, June 24th.

[00:13:11] I can't remember what episode that was, but it's doing solo episodes with a bunch of random guests.

[00:13:16] I think I did like two with press B to cancel because those guys are awesome.

[00:13:20] Have you been been on an episode with them yet?

[00:13:23] I think.

[00:13:24] Yeah, I think so.

[00:13:25] With like Jake.

[00:13:26] I think.

[00:13:26] Oh, yeah.

[00:13:26] The Final Fantasy one.

[00:13:27] Yeah.

[00:13:28] I think it was just Jake, though.

[00:13:30] Yeah, that was fun for a little while.

[00:13:31] But it's it's kind of better having like a permanent co-host there to riff jokes off of because sometimes not everyone not everyone kind of gets our garbage sense of humor.

[00:13:41] I feel like.

[00:13:44] Yeah, we are like I remember and this kind of flows into another one of the milestones this year was I remember just like you and I talking a lot because I had been on a bunch of episodes at that point.

[00:13:57] And I was like, we you know, we both professed our love for retro games and stuff.

[00:14:02] And like on super goes like well, we sometimes get into retro stuff, but like it's not a it's not a point of conversation usually.

[00:14:12] And I just remember like and at that time I was starting to build my ultimate setup where I wanted to basically have like Jen one to like seven just like like there like I wanted everything and I was like I was going down this retro rabbit hole.

[00:14:31] And I was like, Aaron, what if we what if we started a podcast that was focused on retro games and we started retro rehab.

[00:14:42] But then right around that time, that's when you approached me and you said, hey, how about you become the co-host of Superpod?

[00:14:53] And I was like, holy fucking shit.

[00:14:57] Like, I don't do that.

[00:14:58] There's a lot, but I'll try.

[00:15:01] And I like it like I wasn't like it.

[00:15:05] My immediate reaction was like, just say yes, just just fucking say yes.

[00:15:09] Just do it.

[00:15:09] This feels right as rain.

[00:15:11] What I didn't realize was how much work it was going to be to manage Superghost co-host on this and also do retro rehab.

[00:15:19] Yeah, I think the thing was what we wanted retro rehab to be is what this is now.

[00:15:27] Like we didn't we didn't need to start a new podcast because we had we both had ideas for like new stuff and like new formats and different things.

[00:15:35] But like I think once we just were like, well, it just makes sense for it.

[00:15:41] Just just be one show because we do talk about like on Superpod almost on the regular.

[00:15:46] Like we're always talking about retro stuff.

[00:15:49] So it just kind of seemed a little redundant to have two different shows going like that.

[00:15:54] That's true.

[00:15:54] And retro rehab itself was short lived.

[00:15:58] But really, this show has kind of become that as well.

[00:16:04] I like and I didn't want to come on here and just be like, hey, let's let's fuck the whole thing up real quick.

[00:16:12] Like I want to I want to change a bunch of stuff because it's not my it wasn't my podcast.

[00:16:17] But like after you and I sat down together and just started like brainstorming ideas and it just started to kind of become like we already do retro rehab.

[00:16:26] Like this show is just that.

[00:16:29] Why don't we just like take things that we like that we did on retro rehab and just make it a new normal on this show.

[00:16:36] And I thank you for letting me, you know, become the for one thing, like asking me to become the co-host of the show because it was an honor, honestly.

[00:16:45] And then as well, letting like my creative ideas from retro rehab just kind of get ported to this because now it does feel like it's a new thing.

[00:16:58] And again, I didn't my intention was never to come on here and like change a bunch of shit because you already had a good thing going.

[00:17:05] But it was it was cool.

[00:17:07] Cool.

[00:17:08] Very, very Jesus of you to let me to let me do this.

[00:17:13] No, it's I like it, man.

[00:17:16] Superpod Saga was due for a change, though.

[00:17:18] I think Tommy and I had the same formula going for a year because I think the show started in 2022.

[00:17:25] And then my solo thing, I didn't really know what I was doing.

[00:17:31] I was just kind of taking the original formula and was just adding goofy garbage to it.

[00:17:35] Like, oh, yeah, we'll discuss everything there is about this topic and then we'll go do cocaine at Denny's or whatever.

[00:17:42] Sorry, I was looking a little stuffy there.

[00:17:44] And yeah, so it made perfect sense.

[00:17:46] Like once you actually finally came on, once you brought the cocaine with you, once you actually came on, that we kind of meld the show into something that both of us work on.

[00:17:57] Yeah.

[00:17:57] As for retro rehab, I mean, yeah, if you if you hadn't been the co-host or become a co-host for Superpod, like if it was still just me doing this solo, we probably could get retro rehab going.

[00:18:06] But no, it makes sense, man.

[00:18:08] Yeah.

[00:18:08] Retro rehab probably.

[00:18:09] Yeah.

[00:18:09] It probably would have still existed in some form because you and I just wanted to do something together.

[00:18:18] And then it just yeah, it snowballed into this shit show that we have going now.

[00:18:25] Yeah, we've done.

[00:18:26] I'm pretty shit bald.

[00:18:27] Shit, shit bald.

[00:18:29] Tommy, again, if you're listening, I know you don't know a lot about retro games, but that's one thing I always wanted to talk about on the show because I mean, I do I do buy and play modern games.

[00:18:42] But I don't know, it's just it's fun to dive into a bunch of older games that I'd never that I'd never knew existed until just then and kind of see what I see what I can find.

[00:18:54] Really, it's just like going to a library and picking out like catcher in the rye and being like, oh, this this sucks, but I'm glad I checked it out.

[00:19:04] Yeah, like I and it's cool because I love to have a conversation with people about retro games and like you and I both love a lot of the same retro games, but you also like a lot of very different shit than I like.

[00:19:19] So it it's cool because you'll bring things to the table that I'm like, I've never heard of that.

[00:19:24] And then vice versa.

[00:19:26] Oh, yeah.

[00:19:27] Bring things to the table that that you're just like, I don't know what the fuck that is.

[00:19:31] That's yeah, that's why I really like that random recommended a game section because we're always bringing in not just us like the guests are all always bringing in new random shit and I'll check out sometimes too.

[00:19:41] Yeah.

[00:19:42] So yeah, you became the official co host June 24th in our 100th episode little extravaganza where Tommy was the mystery guest and all that.

[00:19:51] That was pretty cool.

[00:19:52] Yeah, we're talking about our favorite games and all that.

[00:19:55] Yeah.

[00:19:56] Retro Rehab was born April 4th.

[00:19:59] Oh, yeah.

[00:20:00] Yeah.

[00:20:01] It was April 4th.

[00:20:03] And then yeah, and then I I was going strong as co host and then also doing retro rehab.

[00:20:09] And part of the reason why we started to think about collapsing retro rehab into this was my health issues.

[00:20:17] Yeah, man.

[00:20:18] Most of your plentiful this year.

[00:20:20] I had a crazy neck back my neck, my back, my recess and my snacks were all fucked up.

[00:20:27] But yeah, my entire back fucked up.

[00:20:31] My then my entire stomach fucked up and I had to have emergency surgery.

[00:20:37] So like all these things kind of compartmentalized into me being like I can't do like a second show that I also edit and produce on top of super ghost on top of hosting.

[00:20:49] So that, you know, I was absent from a handful of super pod.

[00:20:54] But then yeah, once I once I got all fixed up.

[00:20:58] I've been a lot more regular now as regular as a fucking fiber one bar in the morning with a coffee.

[00:21:08] Yes, it's been awesome, man.

[00:21:11] Super pod had a birthday.

[00:21:12] Yeah, we did May 10th, which is coincidentally two days after my birthday.

[00:21:17] Oh, two years old.

[00:21:20] I did that birthday Q&A while I was at work.

[00:21:23] It's pretty cool.

[00:21:25] I was really fucking tired trying to answer all these questions.

[00:21:28] I was like, all right, next one.

[00:21:29] Let's go fucking.

[00:21:32] Well, I have to do the next one with the two of us because I just was not having it that day.

[00:21:40] Then one of another one of our creative collaborations that we again, a lot of the times with you and I, it starts off with just like, what if though?

[00:21:52] Like, what is like we just baked and doing the dishes?

[00:21:55] But hear me out.

[00:21:58] That happens a lot.

[00:21:59] Yeah, you'll be like, dude, what are you doing right now?

[00:22:02] I'm like, dude, I'm so fucking stoned right now.

[00:22:03] And I'm also doing the dishes.

[00:22:04] But what if we started a fucking network?

[00:22:10] May 23rd, we officially announced Superpod Network.

[00:22:13] And it's just been this awesome space, I guess you would call it.

[00:22:18] Like a big old space of awesome, cool folks pitching in, writing blogs, collabing on shows, trying to introduce other podcasters to other podcasters so they can network and get on other shows, get their name out and all that shit.

[00:22:31] Doing all sorts of side series like we used to do.

[00:22:35] We did a few network specials or we went over Nintendo Directs.

[00:22:40] We were trying to do the Superpod Supershow.

[00:22:43] But with the holidays, dude, it's just just cut it out for a couple months.

[00:22:47] But yeah, it's been but it's been awesome, man.

[00:22:50] There's a lot of focus on like the community that we're part of with like the indie podcasting space, specifically in gaming.

[00:22:56] And I've been saying this.

[00:22:59] I've said this a million times.

[00:23:00] There are video game shows that are very, very well known that I enjoy.

[00:23:07] But like there's very few of them that I hear the same amount of passion and even like knowledge.

[00:23:15] Like sometimes I'm like these personalities are good.

[00:23:20] They're funny.

[00:23:20] But like the indie scene that we're part of has just as much of that passion and knowledge, but they just don't get recognized.

[00:23:29] So it's kind of a way to get everybody together in one space so that we can all help each other, like get out there, spread the word, collaborate.

[00:23:40] And I really do love like I can't contribute as much as I want, like to like the blogs and stuff.

[00:23:48] So we got Tommy to edit, man.

[00:23:50] It's all good.

[00:23:53] Again, that's crazy.

[00:23:54] We have like we have an editor.

[00:23:56] Jameson's graphics guy.

[00:23:59] When when I was fucking baked floating in outer space doing dishes and then just randomly was like, dude, what if we fucking started a podcast, though?

[00:24:08] Or not a podcast, a network.

[00:24:11] Which I mean, when I said, why don't we start a retro rehab that I was probably also baked eating tacos or something like.

[00:24:18] I it's usually a combination of me being like in outer space, just being like, but what if, though?

[00:24:25] Like you're doing the dishes.

[00:24:26] Crazy idea.

[00:24:27] Swamp baked.

[00:24:28] Yeah.

[00:24:31] But seeing what the network has now become is really crazy.

[00:24:36] Like it's it's wild because so many people are like passionate about the same thing that we are.

[00:24:45] And it's just this cool hub where you can just go and listen endlessly to like podcasts and read blogs and watch some videos of us doing dumb shit.

[00:24:57] Like hopefully in 22.

[00:25:01] I'm Jerry, and this is this is super potsock.

[00:25:04] And then I just jump off a fucking cliff.

[00:25:08] No parachute.

[00:25:11] Just fucking on alive for the podcast.

[00:25:16] I'm doing the podcast next to your fucking dead body.

[00:25:22] But like I hope that we are able to do some of the video stuff that we want to do for 2025 because I think that'll that'll only enhance.

[00:25:37] And then, you know, the cool thing is like when other people start to do other things, it inspires people like I hear stuff on some of the other podcasts on our network.

[00:25:48] And I'm like, oh, that's cool.

[00:25:49] And like it inspires me to think about things differently or like have an idea that's like kind of molded from another idea.

[00:25:57] So it's just a really cool ecosystem of of friends.

[00:26:01] I love it.

[00:26:02] Shout out to the network.

[00:26:03] That's that probably is like the best way to explain it this ecosystem of friends because yeah, we'll constantly collaborate on blogs episodes.

[00:26:12] We we've made the super pot super show, which is just this big fucking conglomerate glob of just all a bunch of us from different shows into one one tiny little space.

[00:26:24] And man, it's so weird to think that like at first the network was just super pod retro rehab and super ghost.

[00:26:32] And then we were just like, let's reach out to other shows, man.

[00:26:36] And like at first I was kind of like, hmm, but it could just be us or on the little exclusive circle.

[00:26:41] And then I just that's grown, man.

[00:26:43] It's grown a lot.

[00:26:44] Like a lot of people, a lot of cool people have joined.

[00:26:46] Let's we've got a novel console who is awesome.

[00:26:50] Chris is fucking awesome.

[00:26:51] He's a really, really cool guy.

[00:26:53] He really loves Star Fox.

[00:26:55] He really loves food.

[00:26:56] And I love food, too.

[00:26:58] Never met his wife, but she seems cool.

[00:27:00] Bar silence.

[00:27:01] Jameson is just like the coolest fucking person ever.

[00:27:03] He's always if anybody needs any help with like thumbnails or graphics, hit up Jameson, dude.

[00:27:10] I hit him up all the time.

[00:27:11] Yeah.

[00:27:11] If I can't think of an idea, I'll be like, dude, I need an idea for this.

[00:27:14] What should I do?

[00:27:15] And then he'll give me an idea and I'll bounce off of that.

[00:27:17] Bing, bang, boom.

[00:27:18] Boom.

[00:27:18] Fine time is probably one of my most listened to podcasts because I just love the stupid shit that Andre, Kevin and Steve say.

[00:27:27] They're really funny dudes and they like all sorts of awesome games.

[00:27:32] Friday Night Gamecast, Nick and Will from the Badass Combat music episode.

[00:27:37] They're awesome dudes.

[00:27:38] Love them.

[00:27:39] Gimme and Collecting, Bill and Alex.

[00:27:41] I still have never met Alex, but Bill is awesome.

[00:27:45] He's the most knowledgeable.

[00:27:46] No, never.

[00:27:46] I think both of the times that I've been on that show, Alex has been there.

[00:27:53] Bill knows a lot, man.

[00:27:54] Holy shit.

[00:27:54] He's a human encyclopedia of worthless game knowledge and I love it so much.

[00:28:01] Yeah.

[00:28:02] Gaming and Collecting, dude, Nave and Phil are two of the coolest people on the planet.

[00:28:06] Like I love Nave.

[00:28:07] I love having him on and just spouting garbage at each other.

[00:28:11] And he's so good at the like adding extra like an extra layer of garbage sauce to our ads.

[00:28:20] Dude.

[00:28:20] So it's so good.

[00:28:22] Yeah.

[00:28:22] He has a very spicy flavor of ranch for sure.

[00:28:25] He is, dude.

[00:28:27] Geek Addicts.

[00:28:29] Ranchula.

[00:28:29] Yeah.

[00:28:30] Bill and Matt.

[00:28:31] I've met Matt one time.

[00:28:33] He's awesome.

[00:28:34] He's an awesome guy.

[00:28:35] I don't know why.

[00:28:38] Again, this is what Superpod is all about.

[00:28:40] For some reason, when you said, I thought of like a horror movie with tarantulas, but it's

[00:28:47] like to rant and then like to and it's like ranch to ranch.

[00:28:52] You love.

[00:28:53] And it's just like ranch bottles with like I've made my own nightmare now.

[00:28:57] Like I am terrified of ranch bottles with spider legs.

[00:29:01] Dude.

[00:29:02] And I just down.

[00:29:03] This is a new merch idea.

[00:29:06] Tarantula.

[00:29:07] Tarantulas.

[00:29:11] Holy fuck.

[00:29:12] So yeah.

[00:29:12] Press B to cancel.

[00:29:14] They're all awesome dudes too.

[00:29:16] They've been on the show quite a bit.

[00:29:18] Jake is awesome.

[00:29:19] Charred's awesome.

[00:29:20] Werewolf is awesome.

[00:29:21] They're all awesome.

[00:29:23] Member 64.

[00:29:25] Dave's just the chillest fucking happiest guy on the planet.

[00:29:28] He loves to talk about fast food with me all the time and wave race.

[00:29:31] We talk about wave race all the time.

[00:29:34] Oh, and Jiggy.

[00:29:35] Jiggy's really cool too.

[00:29:36] I've only met him a couple of times, but he's a fun guy to talk to.

[00:29:40] Retro Rehab.

[00:29:41] They're pretty handsome fucking awesome guys.

[00:29:45] Super Ghost Radio.

[00:29:47] Awesome show.

[00:29:49] I think your show is probably my second most listened to show.

[00:29:53] Really?

[00:29:54] Yeah.

[00:29:54] Yeah.

[00:29:55] Because like the shit that you and Beth and Greg say, just like off the cuff, just like

[00:30:00] off topic every so often.

[00:30:01] It's just like the wildest fucking most LOL shit.

[00:30:06] I couldn't think of a better word.

[00:30:07] I think a lot of that is because we've known each other for so long.

[00:30:12] So like we're, we're actually like good friends before this, like before we started doing the

[00:30:17] show.

[00:30:18] So like we aren't afraid to playfully insult each other or like just get into some crazy

[00:30:24] shit and like even like telling like personal things.

[00:30:29] That's why.

[00:30:29] That's why those, those things happen.

[00:30:32] Hell yeah.

[00:30:32] I've, I think I've only talked to Greg once.

[00:30:35] He seemed really nice, really cool.

[00:30:38] Beth has been on the show probably fucking three or four times now.

[00:30:42] She's always fun to talk to.

[00:30:44] Yeah.

[00:30:45] Yeah.

[00:30:45] She is.

[00:30:46] She's what Bill is, but just in Pokemon knowledge.

[00:30:51] Yeah, she is dude.

[00:30:52] She keeps bringing up the VGC or whatever.

[00:30:54] And she'd be like, Oh, a Lolan Muck is the meta.

[00:30:58] He's got this and this and this.

[00:31:00] And it's just like, like I know, I know Pokemon, but I don't really know competitive shit.

[00:31:06] She does.

[00:31:07] Yeah.

[00:31:08] And then of course, Super Pod Saga.

[00:31:10] I've heard it's pretty good.

[00:31:12] 3DO Experience.

[00:31:13] That's another one of my most listened to.

[00:31:16] So Thrak is probably in my like top five favorite internet friends amongst you and Jameson and Bill.

[00:31:25] And man, yeah, Thrak's always fun to talk to.

[00:31:28] Yeah.

[00:31:29] Again, same garbage sense of humor.

[00:31:31] Fucking love Sonic to death.

[00:31:33] That's really cool.

[00:31:35] Yeah.

[00:31:36] And then, oh, we got to have the Elder Trolls on sometime with you because they're also fucking hilarious.

[00:31:41] Like if you go listen to the accessories episode I did with them, that was just, that was such good shit.

[00:31:47] It was, yeah.

[00:31:48] I did listen to that.

[00:31:49] It was really funny.

[00:31:51] And then the pre-order bonus guys.

[00:31:52] We'll have to have them on again sometime soon.

[00:31:54] Jake and Cameron.

[00:31:55] They're both really fun dudes to talk to.

[00:31:56] Really love indie games.

[00:31:59] Retro Wildlands.

[00:32:00] Nomad.

[00:32:01] He's got that deep like whiskey barbecue sauce velvety voice, dude.

[00:32:07] He's just the nicest dude on the planet as well.

[00:32:09] And then Tommy's Video Game Ride Along.

[00:32:10] It's Tommy.

[00:32:10] That's all of them.

[00:32:11] That's all the shows.

[00:32:12] Hell yeah.

[00:32:13] We would be remiss to not shout out the network contributors, especially where the network was such a big part of this year.

[00:32:22] Oh, yeah.

[00:32:32] Now we're on to part two.

[00:32:33] Let's talk about the games that we beat in 2024.

[00:32:39] Yep.

[00:32:39] I got, so I don't know how many you've gotten this year, but.

[00:32:47] Let me look.

[00:32:51] I had a near record year.

[00:32:54] And it's not over.

[00:32:56] I'm sure I'll probably get a couple more VR games that are like quick.

[00:32:59] Maybe.

[00:33:00] I don't know how many more UFO 50 games I can squeeze in there.

[00:33:04] Probably not a lot.

[00:33:06] Probably not a lot because I've finished a lot of the good, good ones that I want to.

[00:33:12] But I got 67 fucking beats this year, baby.

[00:33:15] God damn.

[00:33:17] I'm trying to see if I can get a single list for the ones that I've beaten, but.

[00:33:20] So let's see this.

[00:33:21] One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17.

[00:33:27] 18 beats this year.

[00:33:29] Very far behind.

[00:33:30] 18 beats?

[00:33:31] Yeah.

[00:33:32] Are you looking on how long to beat?

[00:33:34] Yeah.

[00:33:34] I've got, went to games.

[00:33:36] You should just click on that year in review.

[00:33:40] It's really cool.

[00:33:41] It tells you a lot of cool information.

[00:33:44] There it is.

[00:33:44] Okay.

[00:33:45] 37 or 36 completions.

[00:33:48] What?

[00:33:48] There you go.

[00:33:49] See?

[00:33:49] More than you thought.

[00:33:50] Oh, it's counting the, the ones that I added to my completed list that I completed like

[00:33:57] last year and shit.

[00:33:58] Oh, so it's not super accurate.

[00:34:01] Yeah.

[00:34:01] Well, next year will be.

[00:34:02] This is, this is why I like how long to beat because I can see that February and June, I

[00:34:10] didn't beat a single game, not one.

[00:34:14] And my strongest month was November.

[00:34:18] I got 20 fucking beats in November.

[00:34:21] Holy shit.

[00:34:22] Probably because my insides fell out of me and I was laid up and didn't have anything

[00:34:28] else to do.

[00:34:28] And I was off for like almost five weeks.

[00:34:31] So that, that allowed me to get a lot of beats.

[00:34:34] It also has a really cool breakdown of like new, recent, older and retro.

[00:34:40] So I had 44 new games, which I think the majority of those were probably UFO 50.

[00:34:49] I did beat 13 retro games though, which is pretty cool.

[00:34:53] That is fucking cool.

[00:34:54] I play, I played a lot of fucking games this year, man.

[00:34:56] And like a lot of good stuff too.

[00:34:59] Like a lot of good stuff.

[00:35:00] I mean, we can, we can go over like our, our highlights, I guess.

[00:35:05] I was going so fucking strong from like February until, till April.

[00:35:11] I had February 5th, 6th, 10th, 28th, 29th.

[00:35:16] Yeah.

[00:35:16] I was going strong for a couple months, just beating Kirby games and arcade games and shit.

[00:35:21] And then, uh, then I fell off as soon, as soon as fucking animal well came off.

[00:35:25] That was killed me.

[00:35:28] What?

[00:35:28] Like what?

[00:35:29] Like that's all you played for a while or you just, yeah, I just, I stopped playing Kirby

[00:35:33] and everything.

[00:35:34] And I started, I just played animal well.

[00:35:35] Cause I was like, dude, I want to, I want to find everything in this game.

[00:35:38] And then I beat it.

[00:35:39] And then I was like, fuck this game.

[00:35:42] I loved animal.

[00:35:43] Well, um, yeah, I beat that this year too.

[00:35:45] I thought it was pretty good.

[00:35:49] I gave it, let me go to mine.

[00:35:52] I gave animal well.

[00:35:53] Oh, a 90.

[00:35:54] Holy shit.

[00:35:56] I got three 10 out of 10s.

[00:35:58] Can you believe it?

[00:35:59] I've got four, four 10 out of 10s.

[00:36:03] Yeah.

[00:36:04] Let's hear them.

[00:36:06] Okay.

[00:36:06] So let's do it.

[00:36:07] So first off, you're right.

[00:36:10] Kirby superstar.

[00:36:12] That's really good, man.

[00:36:15] Like when I first started that game, there's no flaws.

[00:36:17] When I first started it, I thought like, Oh, it's just a compilation of games.

[00:36:22] So like the little games in it can't be that great.

[00:36:25] Right.

[00:36:25] But no, it's like UFO 50.

[00:36:27] Like each one is bite sized, but they pack a lot of like flavor into, into each little

[00:36:33] game.

[00:36:34] Cause like spring breeze is just like what five levels.

[00:36:37] And that's just like, you just fly right the fuck through it.

[00:36:41] The Meta Knight thing.

[00:36:42] Yeah.

[00:36:43] Kirby superstar is, is really, really good.

[00:36:45] And SNK gals fighters was, I gave that a hundred as well too, but that was just a really,

[00:36:50] really fun fighting game on Neo Geo pocket color, dude.

[00:36:53] It's for a handheld fighting game.

[00:36:56] It's really quick.

[00:36:57] Like there's like no choppy choppiness to it.

[00:37:01] Like you would see in like other handheld fighting game.

[00:37:04] I mean, it's, it's a Neo Geo game, of course.

[00:37:05] So it's, it's going to be good.

[00:37:07] Uh, the other one was Kirby and the forgotten land.

[00:37:09] Cause that game was perfect beginning to end.

[00:37:12] And then Arizona games for you this year.

[00:37:14] Yeah.

[00:37:15] I don't know what got me started on Kirby, but I started blasting through them and really

[00:37:22] good series, man.

[00:37:22] Yeah.

[00:37:23] Kirby and the forgotten land.

[00:37:24] I started blasting.

[00:37:27] Yeah, dude.

[00:37:28] And then yeah.

[00:37:29] Air Zonk.

[00:37:29] Air Zonk is a hundred percent.

[00:37:31] The last boss gave me a hell of a fight, but I just safe stated through it.

[00:37:35] I think I had to use a cheat.

[00:37:37] The infinite lives cheat toward the end.

[00:37:39] Cause it was a boss.

[00:37:40] Air Zonk is ridiculous, dude.

[00:37:41] It's ridiculous.

[00:37:43] What were yours?

[00:37:44] Well, before I, I do that, uh, there is one of them in this, in this list.

[00:37:49] I'm about to let you know.

[00:37:50] Um, this was a banner year for N64 beats for me.

[00:37:55] Hell yeah.

[00:37:55] Normally I don't get this many.

[00:37:57] Um, not a lot.

[00:37:58] Like I had five, but like, there's some good shit here, man.

[00:38:02] I beat Congress bad fur day for the first time.

[00:38:05] Oh, I didn't, I didn't log that beat.

[00:38:08] What the fuck?

[00:38:09] Oh yeah.

[00:38:09] That's, that's the one I beat for the, um, for the game club.

[00:38:13] Yeah.

[00:38:13] It was honestly like, I, I liked Congress bad fur day, but I didn't love it.

[00:38:18] Like it was, it was good, but I found toward the end, I was just like, okay, let's just

[00:38:25] get this over with.

[00:38:26] Like same, like it's good up until you get to the, like the, the military, like army part.

[00:38:32] And then I was like, I fucking, I just want this to be over.

[00:38:34] Yep.

[00:38:35] Yep.

[00:38:36] Yep.

[00:38:36] But then all of my other games were just absolute fucking bangers.

[00:38:41] Castlevania legacy of darkness.

[00:38:44] What a good game that is.

[00:38:45] Jesus Christ.

[00:38:46] Like I had thought for years that this game was just like piss.

[00:38:51] Like I didn't really want to play it.

[00:38:53] And then I just threw it on one time and I was like, oh, this is actually really awesome.

[00:38:59] Then I beat a bomber man 64 for the first time this year.

[00:39:04] Gave that a nice crispy eight out of 10.

[00:39:07] That's a good one.

[00:39:08] And, uh, and I'll get into my highest rated ones with this one.

[00:39:13] Star Fox 64, 10 out of 10.

[00:39:15] No flaws.

[00:39:16] It is flawless.

[00:39:18] There, there's no flaws to be found in that game.

[00:39:20] The only flaw is that it has no flaws.

[00:39:24] It's like that interview question.

[00:39:25] I hate that shit.

[00:39:28] What is your biggest flaw?

[00:39:29] My biggest flaws.

[00:39:30] I don't have any flaws.

[00:39:32] You gotta see, you gotta keep your eyes closed while you're saying it.

[00:39:34] Cause that's what smug people do.

[00:39:35] Like, um, my biggest flaw is that I have no flaws.

[00:39:39] Fucking.

[00:39:41] So my, uh, my other, my other big hitters this year.

[00:39:45] Big hit up.

[00:39:46] Uh, another, another highly rated game.

[00:39:50] Nine out of 10 for Val brace in UFO 50.

[00:39:54] She, I could not put this down.

[00:39:58] Like I, I know that I, I raved about party house and shit, but like Val brace, I had skimmed

[00:40:04] over it so many times, but then once I got into it, I was just like, Oh, yep.

[00:40:08] This is it.

[00:40:09] And then there was another one to night manner in a UFO 50 collection, which was fantastic.

[00:40:15] I gave that a nine out of 10 as well.

[00:40:17] Uh, and then things that aren't UFO 50, uh, silent Hill two, dude, this game had every

[00:40:25] reason to bomb.

[00:40:27] Like there was, I should clarify the remake cause I do play a lot of retro games, but no,

[00:40:31] I'm specifically talking about the remake.

[00:40:33] Like blooper, their track records kind of up and down all over the place.

[00:40:38] And a lot of the marketing that was coming out was like, this doesn't look that great,

[00:40:44] but it's, it shocked a lot of people, including myself when it did drop and was not only a

[00:40:50] competent remake of the original, but it, it did things the right way.

[00:40:58] And it did things the way that people wanted them to be doing it.

[00:41:02] Um, so I gave that a nine out of 10 loved it.

[00:41:04] And now for a 10 out of 10, Astro bot Astro bot is dude.

[00:41:12] If you had a PlayStation, I would, I would literally buy you a copy of this to make you

[00:41:17] play it because it is that good.

[00:41:20] It is.

[00:41:21] This is the best Mario 3d Mario game.

[00:41:24] That's come out since galaxy.

[00:41:26] Holy shit.

[00:41:26] Not even, uh,

[00:41:27] it's an odyssey.

[00:41:29] Oh, it fucking kills odyssey.

[00:41:30] Like a hundred percent.

[00:41:32] It just absolutely.

[00:41:34] It just, it dug a shallow grave and threw Mario's body into that fucking grave.

[00:41:39] It executed him in public.

[00:41:44] But yeah, like Astro bot.

[00:41:45] I, I was smiling ear to ear, which I knew, I knew that I was going to be doing that because

[00:41:51] the other Astro bot games, I mean the first one, which was the VR one.

[00:41:56] I loved it.

[00:41:58] I loved it.

[00:41:58] And I, I always said from that point forward, like, why don't they make this like a full

[00:42:03] fledged franchise game?

[00:42:04] And then there was the pack in game that came with PS five, which was also fantastic.

[00:42:11] But like, it was, it was very short.

[00:42:13] Like it wasn't very long, but like, that's when I went, okay, they're just teasing us

[00:42:19] now.

[00:42:19] Like they have to make this a full fledged game and God damn it.

[00:42:24] They did it.

[00:42:25] And it turned out to be one of my favorite games of all time easily.

[00:42:30] Nice.

[00:42:31] And then also this year, kind of a point of contention with a lot of people considering

[00:42:36] this a game, but I do because, well, it was better than most games that I played this year.

[00:42:42] It was longer as a, like, it was basically a full fledged game.

[00:42:46] And Elden Ring Shadow of the Earth Tree was absolutely insane.

[00:42:51] It was insane.

[00:42:52] That, that whole package is, it's a game.

[00:42:56] Like it's, it's as much of a game.

[00:42:59] And I mean, this is, I mean, it's, it's a thing of debate, right?

[00:43:02] Cause like, can you consider a DLC a game?

[00:43:06] Like I, I say yes, but very dependent on a lot of factors.

[00:43:12] Like it's kind of, you know, if you look at those Witcher DLCs, like they're long as

[00:43:19] fuck.

[00:43:20] Like they're full ass games.

[00:43:22] Um, so when you, when you consider things like that and like that cyberpunk DLC, the, what's

[00:43:29] called the Phantom Liberty, that's, that's a game, dude, that's a game.

[00:43:34] Like if they had just said, oh, this is a standalone and released it, nobody would like, nobody would

[00:43:42] have batted an eye.

[00:43:42] Like they would have just been like, oh, this is wild.

[00:43:45] Like, but then people would have been like, this should have just been a DLC kind of like

[00:43:50] here's a good point.

[00:43:52] Resident Evil three remake.

[00:43:54] That felt like it should have just been DLC to Resident Evil two remake, but it was that

[00:44:01] sure.

[00:44:01] It wasn't very long, dude.

[00:44:03] It was really fucking short.

[00:44:05] And like they cut so much shit out of the original, like it wasn't a bad game, but it wasn't,

[00:44:10] it's definitely the lowest for me in all of those remakes.

[00:44:15] Damn.

[00:44:15] Like it's, it's okay.

[00:44:18] But again, that's a situation where it's like, so we're calling this a game, but it

[00:44:22] felt like DLC, but then you got Elden Ring that feels like a game, but it's DLC.

[00:44:28] So like, where, where is it?

[00:44:29] But anyways, that's a long way of getting around to the fact that I gave this a 10 out of 10

[00:44:34] because it is among the cream of the crop for the FromSoft games.

[00:44:40] Like it's as good as Elden Ring.

[00:44:42] It's just more of more of that, but kind of reimagined in a cool way.

[00:44:48] Nice man.

[00:44:49] And then I said Star Fox.

[00:44:50] Yeah.

[00:44:50] Star Fox.

[00:44:51] I want to throw some honorable mention.

[00:44:54] Honorable mentions.

[00:44:55] Let's go.

[00:44:56] All right.

[00:44:56] Ninja Baseball Batman.

[00:44:58] We beat that for the Patreon show.

[00:44:59] Fuck yeah, that game is so good.

[00:45:01] Yeah.

[00:45:02] Goofy, weird.

[00:45:03] The music rules.

[00:45:04] I loved it.

[00:45:05] Binary Domain.

[00:45:06] We played that for the Superpod Game Club.

[00:45:09] That was, that was fucking awesome.

[00:45:12] It was not as polished as like Gears of War or like maybe Uncharted.

[00:45:17] I don't know, but yeah, it was really good.

[00:45:19] And then the last one, if I can find it again.

[00:45:23] Where the fuck did you go?

[00:45:24] Pikmin.

[00:45:25] The original Pikmin.

[00:45:26] Good.

[00:45:27] It's a good game.

[00:45:27] I always want to get into Pikmin and I just like can't for some reason.

[00:45:32] And I like them, but every time I go to play them, I just can't.

[00:45:37] Like, yeah.

[00:45:38] I don't know what it is.

[00:45:38] It's strange.

[00:45:40] It's strange.

[00:45:40] The first one especially can get kind of like stressful because you only have a certain

[00:45:45] amount of time each day.

[00:45:48] And then on top of that, you also have a certain number of days to get all the parts.

[00:45:53] But once you get into a little groove and you start, you take a whole day to scout out

[00:45:58] each new area, find where parts are.

[00:46:00] And then you're like, okay, I can get this and this in one day.

[00:46:02] Come back the next day, get this and this.

[00:46:04] And then I 100% of that fucking game.

[00:46:07] It was awesome.

[00:46:07] And Luigi's Mansion, I forgot to beat that also for Superpod Spooktober.

[00:46:12] That's like the best fucking launch game I've ever played.

[00:46:16] It's so good.

[00:46:17] Yeah.

[00:46:18] Sucking off ghosts.

[00:46:19] I mean, sucking up ghosts.

[00:46:20] That's good.

[00:46:24] Man, we had a lot of like bangers this year too.

[00:46:30] Like in new games, like Visions of Mana.

[00:46:34] I fucking loved that game.

[00:46:36] I know that it's divisive.

[00:46:37] Like some people liked it.

[00:46:39] Some people didn't.

[00:46:40] Some people were very like in the middle on it.

[00:46:42] I mean, I loved it because it gave me what I wanted from a new secret of Mana game.

[00:46:49] Yeah.

[00:46:50] Which is wild that we got a new Mana game.

[00:46:53] That's like pretty high production value.

[00:46:56] It's good.

[00:46:56] Yeah.

[00:46:57] Like I was surprised and happy.

[00:47:00] It's not the best game ever, of course.

[00:47:03] Like I still don't take a hold of candle to the classics, but it was still this is a new.

[00:47:10] It's a step in the right direction, which is unfortunate because they immediately shuttered that studio.

[00:47:15] Like the day it came out, they were like, yeah, you guys are.

[00:47:17] Yeah.

[00:47:18] Yeah.

[00:47:18] But it's I mean, at least squares looking at the Mana series or maybe they won't know.

[00:47:25] I don't know.

[00:47:25] I don't.

[00:47:26] The Mana series is like one of those things is just like, is it alive or is it not?

[00:47:31] Who?

[00:47:31] Who knows?

[00:47:32] Who fucking knows, man.

[00:47:34] And then like Stellar Blade.

[00:47:35] Dude, Stellar Blade was so good.

[00:47:38] Like such an amazing character action game.

[00:47:42] And like, yeah, I get it.

[00:47:44] The horniness and stuff like that.

[00:47:46] But besides the meme-iness.

[00:47:48] That's fine.

[00:47:48] The horniness.

[00:47:49] Exactly.

[00:47:50] You know what?

[00:47:51] Let it be horny.

[00:47:52] Who cares?

[00:47:53] You know, when Nier came out.

[00:47:55] Who fucking cares?

[00:47:56] Dude, Bayonetta was horny.

[00:47:57] Yeah, Bayonetta.

[00:47:57] Nobody fucking batted nine.

[00:47:58] Yeah, all these games are, you know, kind of discredited sometimes for being horny games.

[00:48:03] But like Stellar Blade was actually a superb character action game.

[00:48:10] Like it holds up with like Nier and like it's not.

[00:48:15] I wouldn't say it's as good as Automata, but it's pretty damn close for me anyways.

[00:48:20] Like personally, I would say it's pretty close.

[00:48:24] And then we had stuff like Space Marine 2.

[00:48:27] So I beat both the Space Marine games this year.

[00:48:29] I didn't play the first one when it came out back in the day.

[00:48:33] So Greg demanded that I play it.

[00:48:36] So I got it for five bucks and I loved it.

[00:48:41] And then when two came out, we both played that from start to finish in co-op.

[00:48:46] And I loved that too.

[00:48:49] Like it was very, very good.

[00:48:51] Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

[00:48:52] I liked Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth quite a bit.

[00:48:55] Some people did not enjoy that.

[00:48:58] Beth, if you're listening to this, I'm looking at you.

[00:49:02] Oh, yeah.

[00:49:03] Didn't she say she thought she hated video games or something?

[00:49:06] She questioned whether she liked games anymore.

[00:49:10] That's how much she hated that game.

[00:49:13] I liked it quite a bit.

[00:49:16] And then of course, UFO 50, which is like awesome.

[00:49:22] That was the biggest surprise for me.

[00:49:25] In a year that I got a new mana game, having UFO 50 surprise me more is insane.

[00:49:33] Like that was a game that I just did.

[00:49:36] I was not on my radar.

[00:49:38] And all of a sudden it was just like my whole identity is now UFO 50.

[00:49:46] The guy that shills UFO 50 at the end of every super pod.

[00:49:50] Just opening up a trench.

[00:49:51] Go like, hey, we got some UFO 50.

[00:49:54] And then Metaphor.

[00:49:56] Did you have Metaphor?

[00:49:58] Did you get that after?

[00:49:59] No, there's too many RPGs.

[00:50:01] I'm in the middle of.

[00:50:01] I'll get it eventually.

[00:50:02] Yeah, it's long as fuck.

[00:50:05] I thought it was going to be a lot shorter.

[00:50:06] So when I dived into it, thank God I was off work.

[00:50:11] I never would have played and beat this game if I wasn't off for five weeks.

[00:50:15] Yeah.

[00:50:16] Because I played it like sun up to sundown for a week and a half probably.

[00:50:22] Like it was.

[00:50:23] It was.

[00:50:23] Yeah, it was.

[00:50:25] It was long.

[00:50:26] Another huge surprise of this year is mouth washing.

[00:50:30] We've already talked about.

[00:50:32] Oh, yeah.

[00:50:32] That at length over on Super Ghost.

[00:50:35] And we've talked a bit about on here too.

[00:50:39] You picked that up like live on the last episode that we did.

[00:50:45] Yeah, I haven't started it yet because I'm trying to finish a lot of the other games that I've started.

[00:50:49] Like I need to finish Unicorn Overlord because I really fucking like that game.

[00:50:54] That came out January this year.

[00:50:56] And yeah, that game's really, really fucking fun.

[00:50:59] I need to finish SteamWorld Heist 2.

[00:51:02] But I keep picking up all of these RPGs and I keep not having enough time to finish them.

[00:51:09] Oh, yeah.

[00:51:09] Bellatro is really, really fucking good.

[00:51:12] Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance.

[00:51:14] I need to fucking finish that too because they added all sorts of new shit.

[00:51:18] Persona 3 Reload.

[00:51:19] But I actually do want to finish that.

[00:51:22] Another thing too that's kind of late coming to this year is I picked up a Quest 3 like last.

[00:51:32] Oh, yeah.

[00:51:33] I think it was last.

[00:51:34] No.

[00:51:34] Yeah.

[00:51:35] Last week because they were on sale.

[00:51:37] And then here in Canada, we also have this thing happening right now where there's like a tax break.

[00:51:43] There's no taxes on like video game stuff and like children's clothing.

[00:51:49] What the fuck?

[00:51:49] Yeah, there's like this.

[00:51:50] It's like this holiday tax break.

[00:51:51] So I went and got Quest 3 and didn't pay any tax.

[00:51:58] And it's like the 512 one, 512 gig storage, which is wild.

[00:52:03] I mean, just like you're never going to run out of space on this thing.

[00:52:08] And like I do.

[00:52:12] That's one thing that we actually have not talked about at all on Superpod is VR stuff.

[00:52:18] And I do feel like it is kind of like a niche thing.

[00:52:22] But I am a huge advocate for VR games.

[00:52:26] I love them.

[00:52:28] I was hooked from Resident Evil 7 onward.

[00:52:32] Like when I seen what Resident Evil 7 could be as a VR game.

[00:52:36] Like because at first VR to me was just like, oh, it's just like little experience.

[00:52:40] Yeah, it's like gimmicky.

[00:52:41] It's just like experiences.

[00:52:42] It's kind of cool to be like, let's throw grandma in VR and throw her in a shark tank and see if she has a heart attack.

[00:52:48] Let's throw grandma in a shark tank.

[00:52:52] About as gimmicky as this fucking thing dude with a little stand and shit.

[00:52:56] Yeah.

[00:52:57] Yeah.

[00:52:58] That's Kid Icarus listeners.

[00:52:59] Kid Icarus Uprising.

[00:53:00] My collection's right here.

[00:53:02] So I'm going to grab them all the time and show everybody everything.

[00:53:04] But yeah, like I've always been big on VR games because of how good Resident Evil 7 was.

[00:53:13] And then there's been other ones like Half-Life Alyx where it's just like, okay, like there is something here.

[00:53:19] And it is the most immersive I've been in any game.

[00:53:25] Like, you know, I can get into a Silent Hill 2 remake and immerse myself.

[00:53:29] But like the way that I...

[00:53:31] That would be cool.

[00:53:32] And like Resident Evil 4 remake has a VR version on PSVR 2, which is nuts.

[00:53:41] Like...

[00:53:41] Is it exclusive to PSVR?

[00:53:44] Yeah, it is.

[00:53:44] That and Resident Evil 8.

[00:53:45] Resident Evil 8 also has a VR mode, which I really wish that they would bring those to PC.

[00:53:54] Because...

[00:53:55] I want to see them milkers first person, baby.

[00:53:58] Yes!

[00:53:59] Or more first person.

[00:54:00] I want to immerse myself.

[00:54:01] Just fucking...

[00:54:05] But yeah, I got this thing.

[00:54:08] And I've been kind of catching up because I had a Quest 2 and I just didn't really play it too, too much.

[00:54:16] Like I kind of get sucked into retro games and other things.

[00:54:20] But the Quest 3, the jump in like the fidelity is so much crazier.

[00:54:29] Like it looks amazing in the headset.

[00:54:33] But the thing was that I wasn't prepared for was the mixed reality stuff is mind-blowing.

[00:54:41] Like it is insane.

[00:54:44] I completely forgot that that was even a thing that was on this headset.

[00:54:49] And like there's a puzzle game.

[00:54:52] Like I know that you love puzzles.

[00:54:55] Imagine playing a really good-ass puzzle game in VR where like the puzzle itself is in your room and you're walking around it to like pick at it and solve it.

[00:55:07] Like it's insane.

[00:55:09] It's fucking crazy.

[00:55:10] And I've been playing that new Alien game, Alien Rogue Incursion on PC because you can use a Quest 3 as your PC.

[00:55:19] Like that's the thing.

[00:55:20] That's where the Quest and I don't I know this is like our 2024 like wrap-up thing, but I don't want to make this about VR all of a sudden.

[00:55:28] But it's fine.

[00:55:30] The double whammy of the Quest is that not only do you get this really cool like standalone headset that you can play wirelessly in like room scale and do like mixed reality shit.

[00:55:43] You just plug that into your PC and then boom you got PC VR as well.

[00:55:47] So you can play like Half-Life Alyx.

[00:55:48] You can play that Alien game like there's there's a lot of different things that you can do with it.

[00:55:53] So rest assured there's going to be some VR talk in the new year because I am I'm back in it and I would love to be able to talk about it and for somebody else to actually, you know, chime in.

[00:56:07] If they like VR because not a lot like again, it's a niche thing like not a lot of people will for one thing a lot of people can't fucking afford the headsets because they're so goddamn expensive.

[00:56:18] Yeah, I think our 12 year old has an Oculus Quest 2.

[00:56:24] I think the two is good and yeah, he plays a monkey tag or ape tag.

[00:56:31] Oh, yeah, yeah.

[00:56:32] Fuck on it.

[00:56:32] Drunkle tag.

[00:56:33] I don't know what it's called.

[00:56:34] Yeah, gorilla tag.

[00:56:35] There we go.

[00:56:36] Drunkle tag.

[00:56:38] Jungle book and VR.

[00:56:40] Ugh.

[00:56:43] I know Nasty Nate from the Elder Trolls, he plays VR a lot on their YouTube channel.

[00:56:52] We'll have to have him on and you guys can talk about VR shit.

[00:56:55] I like them VRs.

[00:56:57] I like them VRs.

[00:57:00] I like it a lot.

[00:57:01] So what would you say is like your top game this year?

[00:57:04] It's tough, man.

[00:57:05] Um, I really like, I kind of feel like it should be Steam World Heist 2 because it's the sequel to one of my favorite games ever.

[00:57:20] But Unicorn Overlord kind of does a lot more new shit.

[00:57:24] And Unicorn Overlord, I had just way more fun with it.

[00:57:27] So I'm going Unicorn Overlord for sure, man.

[00:57:30] That game is just too much fucking fun.

[00:57:32] It looks good.

[00:57:33] It sounds good.

[00:57:34] It tastes good.

[00:57:35] It feels good.

[00:57:36] It feels good.

[00:57:36] It plays good.

[00:57:37] So it must be a duck.

[00:57:38] Fucks good.

[00:57:40] It fucks like a duck.

[00:57:41] It quacks like a duck.

[00:57:44] I, like, this year is hard for me because Astro Bot and UFO 50 are both so goddamn good.

[00:57:53] And, like, I think the only reason why I keep thinking that it's UFO 50 is because I've spent so much time playing it.

[00:57:59] But I, in the bottom of my heart, I actually think that Astro Bot is the, like, the winner.

[00:58:06] I think I gave a different answer on our, like, our game of the year thing on Super Ghost.

[00:58:13] Which, by the time this comes out, all of the anti-game of the year stuff will be out.

[00:58:17] So go check out that stuff because that stuff was ridiculous.

[00:58:21] I'm kind of excited slash nervous to hear what Beth's favorite game of 2025 is because I feel like it's going to be something not from 2024.

[00:58:34] I don't know.

[00:58:35] No, I think she did.

[00:58:36] I think she did have something from 2024.

[00:58:39] I can't remember.

[00:58:41] It was good, though.

[00:58:43] We, yeah, we did our little debate where we pick our three top ones and then figure out who gets, like, first, second, and third.

[00:58:54] But, yeah, that's pretty much what I played in 2024.

[00:59:01] Hell to the damn, yeah.

[00:59:03] Yeah.

[00:59:03] I think a lot of my plays were Kirby games and arcade games we played for high-score heroes and game club games.

[00:59:12] I played a lot of games, too, yeah.

[00:59:14] Yeah.

[00:59:15] They're just quick and fucking easy and snappy, man.

[00:59:17] Just turn your brain off, man.

[00:59:18] I'm going to play more Kirby games, though.

[00:59:20] God damn it.

[00:59:21] So you should.

[00:59:22] Halfway through Kirby 64 and Kirby's Adventure.

[00:59:26] That's good, too.

[00:59:27] Yeah.

[00:59:27] Kirby 64 is fun, man.

[00:59:28] I've got the DS ones.

[00:59:29] I'm going to play those, too.

[00:59:30] Yeah, they're good, too.

[00:59:31] What do you think, man?

[00:59:32] Should we take an ad break?

[00:59:34] You already know I want to take an ad break.

[00:59:39] Open your back.

[00:59:46] Video games are a unique medium.

[00:59:48] They can tell stories.

[00:59:50] Immerse us in strange, fantastic worlds.

[00:59:53] Blur the very boundaries of our reality.

[00:59:56] But at the end of the day, video games are fun.

[00:59:59] Whatever fun is to you.

[01:00:00] I'm Jeff Moonen.

[01:00:01] And I am Matt A.K.A. Stormageddon.

[01:00:13] And there's so many more games out there.

[01:00:15] So we hope you'll share in that conversation with us.

[01:01:11] Coming this summer to ESPN.

[01:01:14] It's the World Championship of Professional Headbutting.

[01:01:19] Headbutting.

[01:01:20] Headbutting.

[01:01:21] It's 20 trained professional athletes.

[01:01:27] They're headbutting each other for the Heavyweight Championship headbutting belt.

[01:01:34] It's just a belt with a face on it.

[01:01:37] It's got a crack in the skull.

[01:01:39] But it's a belt that's also a bandana for your head, head, head, head, head, head, head, head, head.

[01:01:46] It's just two dudes in a wrestling ring, but they're running at each other and headbutting each other just like, cool, cool.

[01:01:54] Like they're doing like a ram.

[01:01:56] Like they're just headbutting each other.

[01:02:00] Like those dinosaurs that run at each other.

[01:02:04] Yeah.

[01:02:05] Yeah, dude.

[01:02:06] That's the logo right there.

[01:02:09] The Pachycephalosaurus.

[01:02:11] That's what it is.

[01:02:13] Google it.

[01:02:13] That's what that is.

[01:02:14] Yep.

[01:02:15] Pachycephalosaurus.

[01:02:15] It sounds like a fucking disease.

[01:02:18] Syphilosaurus.

[01:02:25] Package syphilosaurus.

[01:02:28] Sore ass.

[01:02:29] Syphilosaurus.

[01:02:39] Sore ass.

[01:02:40] Pray that you don't have to go up against Rihanna because her forehead will fucking destroy you.

[01:02:47] Make sure you get tickets to sit in the front row because you'll get blasted by blood.

[01:02:55] Like a Quar concert?

[01:03:00] Someone.

[01:03:01] Make sure you collide and they explode like watermelons.

[01:03:06] You know, when people do those like slap offs or whatever, they like powder up their hands with like dust.

[01:03:16] You gotta put that on your forehead.

[01:03:18] I'm not a fucking head, dude.

[01:03:28] No.

[01:03:29] What the heck do you think I'm struck by lightning?

[01:03:34] I turned white because her skin was powdery.

[01:03:37] So they call it a powder.

[01:03:39] You get hit by that guy.

[01:03:41] You're dead, dead, dead.

[01:03:43] Tune in this Sunday, Sunday, Sunday.

[01:03:47] To see the heads collide.

[01:03:50] Why not hit up our cool snack bar?

[01:03:53] We've got things like, I don't know, snacks.

[01:03:56] They've got pulled pork sandwiches and hot dogs.

[01:03:59] They've got G.I. Joe hot dogs.

[01:04:01] G.I. Joe hot dogs.

[01:04:03] They've got fucking, I don't know, food.

[01:04:09] They've got tuna salad coffee.

[01:04:12] Ooh, okay.

[01:04:13] They've got Fanta.

[01:04:15] Don't ooh at tuna salad coffee.

[01:04:17] We're obligated to say it.

[01:04:19] Say it.

[01:04:20] Say it.

[01:04:21] Then they've got 16 different flavors of Fanta.

[01:04:25] Of course, they've got grape and orange, but they've also got ketchup and sand.

[01:04:31] Dirty bath water.

[01:04:33] Got that G-rape flavor.

[01:04:34] Oh, my fucking God.

[01:04:36] They've got that Jesus water flavor.

[01:04:41] That's just water that you did throw a little bit of wine in.

[01:04:44] Oh, dude.

[01:04:45] And they've got the Fred Durst knockoff Faygo.

[01:04:50] I don't know what it'd be called.

[01:04:52] Just one of those days.

[01:04:54] It's just one of those drinks.

[01:04:56] I don't know.

[01:04:57] It's just one of those grapes.

[01:05:00] And I mean, this is just the snack bar.

[01:05:02] While you're getting your snacks, you're just looking down at two people just smacking their heads together.

[01:05:08] Two gigantic fellas.

[01:05:11] Two, yeah.

[01:05:12] Or ladies.

[01:05:13] I mean, Rihanna's down there just whipping that forehead around.

[01:05:16] Let me do on that work, work, work, work, work.

[01:05:19] And she's just headbutting along to the song.

[01:05:22] Is that Rihanna?

[01:05:23] I don't know.

[01:05:24] I think so.

[01:05:28] I don't fucking, I don't know, or care.

[01:05:38] Yeah, so it's all sponsored by Faygo.

[01:05:41] That's the Supreme Championship headbutting championship.

[01:05:47] It's all sponsored by Faygo.

[01:05:48] Faygo Moon Mist, to be exact.

[01:05:51] That's the superior Faygo.

[01:05:53] Sure.

[01:05:55] Thanks, Juggalos.

[01:05:56] Woo-hoo.

[01:05:58] Thanks.

[01:06:00] I don't know.

[01:06:00] Is there anything else we should add?

[01:06:01] What else is happening there?

[01:06:03] Oh, you can also get a cool t-shirt.

[01:06:05] You can get your own little championship belt.

[01:06:08] You can get a foam finger, but it's a foam head.

[01:06:14] It's a foam bald man.

[01:06:15] It's just a forehead.

[01:06:16] It's just this.

[01:06:17] A foam forehead?

[01:06:19] Yeah.

[01:06:20] A foam head?

[01:06:23] Thanks, Juggalos, for sponsoring this episode.

[01:06:26] And the head exploding championship.

[01:06:32] If you lose.

[01:06:40] Who's that guy that always fucking comes out and smashes more Gallagher?

[01:06:45] Shit.

[01:06:46] He's a fucking head.

[01:06:47] That's what happens when you lose.

[01:06:49] Oh, it's like a gladiator thing.

[01:06:52] Where they're fighting for their freedom.

[01:06:54] And then whoever loses gets executed by Gallagher.

[01:06:57] He tells some joke.

[01:06:59] He's like, inga-dinga-dergan.

[01:07:01] And then, wham!

[01:07:02] And the fucking head is just flat like a pancake.

[01:07:05] Yeah, so don't bring your kids.

[01:07:07] Don't bring your kids to this.

[01:07:09] Yeah, maybe do, but close their eyes.

[01:07:11] Close their ears.

[01:07:13] And the screams.

[01:07:15] Fold their ears over like cauliflower ears.

[01:07:21] Come on down this Sunday, Sunday, Sunday for heads, brains, and trauma.

[01:07:27] Trauma, trauma.

[01:07:36] We're back.

[01:07:37] I think we're back.

[01:07:38] We're back?

[01:07:39] We're back.

[01:07:40] We're so back.

[01:07:42] Oh, we're back.

[01:07:44] Normally, I guess this would be getting close to the closing and the random recommended games.

[01:07:48] But we have some announcements that will be happening.

[01:07:54] Why don't you make the announcement?

[01:07:57] Yeah, man.

[01:07:58] So I guess this will be the only episode that comes out in January.

[01:08:01] But yeah, the rest of January, we're taking a break.

[01:08:04] Jerry's starting a new job.

[01:08:06] And fuck, I just want a break from editing for like a month.

[01:08:09] It'd be cool.

[01:08:11] Get all nice and refreshed and everything.

[01:08:14] What we're going to do is we're going to port the Retro Rehab episodes over to this so that they're here.

[01:08:23] In case, you know, if you did never go listen to them over on Retro Rehab's own show feed, then they're going to be over here now.

[01:08:31] Because again, it's literally going to sound like the same show.

[01:08:34] Yeah.

[01:08:34] Like the way that the show is now is basically what Retro Rehab.

[01:08:37] I just noticed that I've been progressively getting lower because I think the hydraulic thing in my chair is fucked up.

[01:08:43] So I have to just – but by the end of the episode, I'm just like down here.

[01:08:46] It's going to be like the neighbor from Home Improvement.

[01:08:50] Yeah.

[01:08:51] But yeah, so those Retro Rehab episodes are going to start popping up on our SuperPod feed.

[01:08:59] I mean, I was going to say, yeah, we deserve well – you know, a well-deserved break.

[01:09:04] But you do more than – I've had breaks.

[01:09:08] I've been off.

[01:09:11] So it's more for you than it is for me.

[01:09:14] I've had my breaks.

[01:09:15] Yeah.

[01:09:16] I'm – yeah.

[01:09:17] Yeah, man.

[01:09:17] I've been pumping out an episode every single week for the past like pretty sure the whole year.

[01:09:21] I don't know if I ever took a break last year either.

[01:09:24] But yeah, it's just for January.

[01:09:26] We'll come back February.

[01:09:28] We'll come refreshed with a PH.

[01:09:30] Refreshed.

[01:09:31] Ready to go.

[01:09:32] We've got a lot more topics jotted down that we'll try to – I don't know if you all have noticed,

[01:09:37] but we're trying to do less like list topics.

[01:09:40] Like less of like our top fives of whatever topics, shit like that.

[01:09:44] The single games are pretty fun to do.

[01:09:47] I want to do more of that.

[01:09:48] I want to do more like flat-out discussions where it's just, you know,

[01:09:53] hey, what do you consider this and this?

[01:09:55] I don't know what I'm trying to say.

[01:09:56] But yeah, yeah.

[01:09:56] More of those.

[01:09:57] I want less lists, more of other shit.

[01:10:00] Yeah.

[01:10:01] Yeah.

[01:10:01] And I would like to be able to finally dial in some YouTube content,

[01:10:07] some video content for the folks because we have some cool ideas.

[01:10:11] It's just finding the time and actually getting that dialed in.

[01:10:16] I think once we – I think once we do a few and kind of get like a template for how we want that to work,

[01:10:21] then we'll be able to whip those up pretty quick.

[01:10:24] Damn straight.

[01:10:26] Yeah.

[01:10:26] And I think –

[01:10:30] Damn skippy.

[01:10:31] Damn shitty.

[01:10:32] I've already got a couple of guest spots on other shows scheduled for January.

[01:10:38] So be on the lookout for that.

[01:10:40] I think we might do a Super Pod Super Show this month.

[01:10:43] We might as well.

[01:10:43] I mean, I'm not going to edit it.

[01:10:45] I'm just going to put it right onto YouTube.

[01:10:47] So fuck it.

[01:10:49] Hell yeah.

[01:10:49] I'm trying to think of what else I wanted to do.

[01:10:51] Oh, Patreon content.

[01:10:52] I mean, January won't have – I think at least it'll have like one – no.

[01:10:57] It'll have one early access episode.

[01:10:59] We'll still do high score heroes for the Patreon since that's pretty short.

[01:11:05] Yeah.

[01:11:06] Yup.

[01:11:06] Yup, yup, yup, yup, yup, yup, yup.

[01:11:09] Random Recommendated Games!

[01:11:13] My random recommended game.

[01:11:15] I kind of alluded to this earlier, but Alien Rogue Incursion.

[01:11:20] Again, it is a little difficult to recommend a VR game because not a lot of people are doing VR.

[01:11:28] Not that I know of anyways.

[01:11:29] But if you have VR and you have a PC, I think it's supposed to be coming to Quest 3 at some point.

[01:11:37] It's only on PC and PSVR 2.

[01:11:40] So if you have a PSVR 2, I would probably check this game out because I have been loving it.

[01:11:48] It's kind of like a Metroidvania and –

[01:11:52] Whoa.

[01:11:53] Yeah.

[01:11:54] And it has like Half-Life Alyx gunplay where like you're actually having to like pop the clip out, grab a new one, pop the clip in, and then cock the gun.

[01:12:03] That's cool.

[01:12:04] Like there's a lot of – yeah.

[01:12:05] And like little things too, like reaching up to like your left temple and hitting the trigger to activate like your headlight is also like – just like little things like that.

[01:12:18] Put your gun to your head and hitting the trigger.

[01:12:21] That's what I thought you were getting at.

[01:12:22] I didn't know.

[01:12:23] That was going to be a light.

[01:12:24] I don't know if – I should try that.

[01:12:26] I don't know if you can do it or not.

[01:12:27] I should try it.

[01:12:31] And then like you like look at your like wrist to see like your health and stuff like that.

[01:12:39] And like –

[01:12:40] Ooh, that's cool.

[01:12:40] That's where your stims and shit are.

[01:12:42] So like you grab like a stim.

[01:12:43] You actually have to like pop it out and then stab yourself in the arm.

[01:12:46] Stab yourself in the head.

[01:12:47] And I think you have to move your arm.

[01:12:49] I wonder if you can do it in your chest.

[01:12:51] I don't know.

[01:12:52] Underneath your toenail.

[01:12:55] That's where the can opener goes.

[01:13:00] The xenomorphs are really crazy.

[01:13:03] And it's pretty stressful.

[01:13:05] Like if you get more than a couple at one time, shit gets real.

[01:13:10] Like I had to do a part where I had to like wait for this elevator to come up and there was a bunch of them coming down from the vents.

[01:13:18] And I had – I died a couple times and I had to like rethink my whole process.

[01:13:23] Like I then found out that like, oh, there's a room that looks into that room with the window broken out.

[01:13:29] But I can like close both the doors and then just stockpile a bunch of like ammo and shit in there.

[01:13:34] So like when they were coming in, they were only being able to come in through like the broken windows.

[01:13:39] So I was able to funnel it.

[01:13:40] But it was still like – I was sweating, dude.

[01:13:42] Like I was fucking sweating so much because it was stressful as fuck.

[01:13:47] But yeah, check this game out.

[01:13:49] It's kind of blowing my expectations away.

[01:13:54] I know that I do tend to have that Jerry hype on things, especially when it comes to the Alien franchise because I'm a huge Alien fan.

[01:14:01] Ooh.

[01:14:02] But why this – what?

[01:14:04] We need to do like a movie marathon or like a watch together thing for the Alien series because I also really fucking love the Alien movies.

[01:14:12] Hell yeah, dude.

[01:14:13] So does Beth.

[01:14:15] Beth's favorite movie of all time is Alien.

[01:14:17] Yes.

[01:14:19] And it might be mine too.

[01:14:21] Yeah.

[01:14:21] Yeah, the thing's good.

[01:14:22] You should do something like that.

[01:14:23] Sorry, go ahead.

[01:14:25] But yeah, so I would say if you have the means to check this out, absolutely do it.

[01:14:31] If you're a fan of Alien and you like VR games that are not just – like this is a AAA game.

[01:14:37] Like this is – it feels AAA.

[01:14:39] Like it's – I wouldn't say it's on par with like Resident Evil 7, but like it's pretty damn good.

[01:14:45] I would say absolutely check this out.

[01:14:48] What you got?

[01:14:49] Nice, nice, nice.

[01:14:50] So Breath of Fire 3.

[01:14:53] I don't think I've beaten any of the games before, but I've got a little bit further into Breath of Fire 3 and it's fucking good.

[01:15:04] Like the first Breath of Fire –

[01:15:06] Yeah, the Breath of Fire 3 is like the best I think.

[01:15:11] It's – yeah, it's awesome, man.

[01:15:12] Like the first one, boring.

[01:15:14] The second game, a little bit better.

[01:15:17] It's pretty good.

[01:15:17] But the third game, first off, the soundtrack is really fucking good.

[01:15:20] It's real jazzy and boppy and hoppy and shit.

[01:15:23] But –

[01:15:23] And the hops and the bops and the hoop and the bop.

[01:15:28] But dang, dang.

[01:15:29] No, it's – it's just a really cool game, man.

[01:15:32] The combat is actually pretty like snappy and quick.

[01:15:35] And it – it's also got random encounters, but they're a lot more forgivable because combat,

[01:15:42] especially once you over – or once you level over the enemies.

[01:15:46] Like you're – it's just quick.

[01:15:47] Like everything takes like one hit and you just tap X, beat the enemies in like a fucking second

[01:15:52] and then combat's over and you just – and there's no – there's no transition really in between like battles and combat.

[01:15:58] It's just like you're running through wherever you are.

[01:16:01] Like I'm in this haunted mansion right now.

[01:16:02] I'm running through there.

[01:16:04] You'll see like a little exclamation point on the character's heads.

[01:16:07] And then they'll go right into combat.

[01:16:08] No transition.

[01:16:09] So it's just quick and it's fast and the characters are really fun.

[01:16:13] There's lots of cool voice acting bits.

[01:16:16] This story is kind of cool.

[01:16:18] It's one of those ones where the main character starts young and then you keep playing them as they grow up and shit.

[01:16:23] So that's really cool.

[01:16:24] Oh.

[01:16:25] I'm excited to play through this, man.

[01:16:27] I was in kind of a – I guess like a drought or not a drought but like a –

[01:16:32] Like a bit of a hump.

[01:16:33] Yeah.

[01:16:34] Yeah.

[01:16:34] I was in kind of bored of RPGs there for a little bit because they're just way too long.

[01:16:38] But I'm back.

[01:16:39] Yeah.

[01:16:40] I was having that same issue this year too.

[01:16:42] Like I wanted to play like an RPG and I ended up doing metaphor which – I mean I liked metaphor but like – I don't know.

[01:16:52] It didn't like blow me away.

[01:16:54] Yeah.

[01:16:54] I want to like – I want to get like an RPG that I'm like holy shit.

[01:16:57] Like I feel like the last time I was really blown away by an RPG was probably Xenoblade 2.

[01:17:04] That was like for like new RPGs like that are very much like a JRPG.

[01:17:11] Like Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was good but like still I just keep thinking about Xenoblade 2 and how much that just blew me away when it came out.

[01:17:20] And I was like oh shit.

[01:17:22] Like there's still good RPGs to be had.

[01:17:26] That's another one that we need to do is Xenoblade 2 because a lot of people shit on that game for being like too anime looking and people hate like the voices and shit.

[01:17:38] They have no right.

[01:17:38] People hate the gotcha shit which is also stupid but like it's a really good game.

[01:17:44] It's a really good game.

[01:17:46] Yep.

[01:17:47] I agree.

[01:17:48] I agree.

[01:17:49] Yeah.

[01:17:49] Yeah.

[01:17:50] More RPGs in your life.

[01:17:51] That's what I say.

[01:17:52] Yeah.

[01:17:52] More.

[01:17:53] Give me more.

[01:17:54] But I guess that's it.

[01:17:56] I guess you know the saddest part of leaving all of our listeners behind for about a month but we still gave you some random recommended games.

[01:18:08] Yeah we did.

[01:18:09] Left you with some pretty good goodies.

[01:18:12] Give you that good good.

[01:18:13] Them good good.

[01:18:29] On that note though that's it.

[01:18:31] That's the show for this week.

[01:18:34] Yeah we're taking that break.

[01:18:35] We'll hit you guys back up in February.

[01:18:37] I mean I'll still do a couple blogs here and there.

[01:18:40] We'll do a super show and we'll do other side shit but Superpod for now you'll just see those retro rehabs popping through.

[01:18:48] We'll do maybe like what two or three of those a week throughout January.

[01:18:53] Get those all on there.

[01:18:54] Check them out.

[01:18:56] Listen to them.

[01:18:57] Also fucking check out Patreon.

[01:18:59] Two or four dollars a month.

[01:19:00] Get all that extra bonus good shit.

[01:19:02] Check out superpodnetwork.com.

[01:19:05] All the blogs and other cool shows on there.

[01:19:07] Check out Super Ghost Radio.

[01:19:09] Super Ghost Radio is good.

[01:19:12] I think that covered everything.

[01:19:13] Okay.

[01:19:14] Let's say bye.

[01:19:15] Bye.

[01:19:20] Okay bye.
